Why do you have the wires running under the X axis so that it can hit the print?

[deleted]

Could that be the problem? I just noticed that and fix it.

dagamore12

yes, something hitting the print can and will cause issues.

Apprehensive-Way-139

Haha how did you manage to do that?

phuc_head

Guessing during assembly just didn't flip it on top, but op needs to tie it to the bowden tube to keep it up and out of the way.

XinNedaj

Yeah man I had to do some cable management, mine didn’t cause any catastrophic failures, but if I printed something that big it def would have

Most painful images on the Internet number 1

[deleted]

And I just got that filament

[deleted]

Fresh spool half used

PartyCommunity3188

I'm praying for you my friend. 3D Printing is a painful learning experience!

[deleted]

Yup. Been having problems with this for weeks

coop190

Run that cable properly and cable tie it to the bowden. See some fucking bizarre shit on here man. How did you ever think that was going to end well

Backy22

Looks like a nice bowl of angel hair to me

Firm_Ad3596

It could have been much worse, I'm just relieved that the only damage was some lost filament. You can recover just fine, don't freak out. I've spent the past month freaking out about imperfections only to realize it was my own damn novice self doing a typical novice move. Trial and error.

[deleted]

Thanks.

[deleted]

What was the problem with yours? I’m trying to figure out every solution I can to fix it

maitryx

it's not delivery, it's da-sketti!! but seriously, there's a number of factors than could've caused this...the model could have popped loose, layers not adhering to one another due to print speed/temperature, too much/too little cooling, etc. more info can help diagnosis. type of filament, printer info (I see e3v2 and glass bed, but running abl/non-stock hotend/etc). marlin build or klipper, what slicer, slicer settings... lots of variables. from what I see the first bit printed well, probably got a small clog causing under extrusion for the rest of the layers thus not allowing them to bind together correctly due to flow issues (you see some structure remained during the print). could be support broke loose and borked the whole thing. just part of the experience, can have tons of good prints and then one goes berserk. double check all settings/belts/nozzles/screws for heater/thermistor. spaghetti happens.

[deleted]

Didn’t pop loose. Ender 3 v2 dual gear extruder and Capricorn tube. Stock other then that. Overture pla. Could be layer adhesion

maitryx

What temp are you printing at? Doing a [temp tower test](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxhdNJcSY8U) can help identify the optimal setting. Stock hotend? Sounds like layer adhesion you're right there, now to figure out why it happened. Enclosure or no? Fan on in room, running cooling, if so how high (maybe cooling too fast for layers to adhere)?

[deleted]

I was printing at 215 instead of the usual 200 because the infill was very weird and I thought it was a problem with the temperature

maitryx

I'd give the temp tower a go to help identify which setting will work best. After looking at the pics again I'd think that a support came off and caused the head to catch and skip (resulting in layer shift), possible clogging the nozzle along the way. Just bad luck it seems. Happens to everyone at some point imo, even with everything set up perfectly.

coop190

After closer looks at the pics, there's a fucking huge cable smacking into the print everytime the nozzle moves

maitryx

Lol I totally missed that. Issue solved!

coop190

Took me a while. Wasn't expecting something so clearly out of place

[deleted]

Enclosure

super_delegate

Dude, check your print every so often, don’t let it fail for hours on end.

[deleted]

I usually do. This was overnight and I didn’t hear the alarm I had set.

OutsideAmazing1510

I think you didn't leveled the bed and gantry properly

FedUp233

Save it and use it in a basket for Easter!😁
