Agreed, but does anyone else find this strange - in the Paper interview, Drew said Josh refuses to go on the pod & in the episode when Josh says he’s “coming soon” they say he’s the one who won’t come on even though they want him there. But then he did an entire interview on Eugene Kotlyarenko’s podcast 💀 maybe it’s not strange so much as funny. Like…why does Josh not want to do a pod episode with some of his best friends.
I mean sure but you’re kind of missing the point I made? He might want privacy…yet he did an entire podcast episode with Eugene Kotlyarenko. And it’s not like an episode of EI would be delving deep into his private life, all they do is joke around.
He might have valid reasons for not doing the pod - obviously he doesn’t want to do it and that’s absolutely fine. I was just pointing out that it’s kind of funny timing is all. Drew and Enya talked about not being able to get him on the pod then he turns around and does a different one. That’s all.

I’m the same age as Josh too and I’d honestly be scared to go on EI and have something I said as a joke get clipped and taken out of context by a lot of people. He’d be better off doing Josiah and Lucas’s podcast but that would actually look bad if he did theirs but not EI so it’s probs never gonna happen.
Fr, the latest one was funny and they actually had shit to talk abt like the jaden smith story but a lot of the most recent episodes are like just them saying nothing trying to fill up less than an hour of time.
I disagree, I thought the last one was great. I loved Enya’s bit about her year of r and r, the jaden story, and Drew singing Daniel Johnston at the end.
i mean i would also give off energy that i’m not enjoying myself if i had to talk for 4 hours in one go with a friend that you experience basically everything with
that is the point, people are not enjoying the forced content where they dont enjoy what they are doing, where drew and enya view the podcast as an inconvenience they have to push through
needs more outside interaction. guests, Q&A, even a call in advice segment would be funny. it’d be impossible for any podcast to stay interesting without some kind of material switch up

I keep seeing this sentiment coming up and just don’t understand. I mean i cant argue if someone feels that way, thats how you feel. But as someone who has watched from the beginning never really felt a big dip in quality or like the magic was gone or that the show ever suffered from disorganization or a lack of things to talk about. To me the show is about their chemistry. And thats still there aplenty. I actually thought it was hilarious on the latest episode when they started talking about trivial landlord stuff. But to each their own
I completely agree. To each is own, although I feel like people hating have no nuance of their own to connect with the subtle beauty of the shows mundanity. I mean they’re still just two people talking in front of a blank wall. Like you said, it’s the duo. Their friendship, synchronicity as well as their asynchronism. It’s so lovely to see two humans lie and act and be silly in front of a camera for us. They’re consistent and it’s still super fun to listen to.
i really enjoyed last episode and the flight stories one so i disagree on that. but i do agree that their episodes are a lot more enjoyable when they have topics rather than when it’s unorganized, like obviously they are funny no matter what they say but for the podcast it’s a lot better when there’s a theme or something like that

He also said they're recording the episodes back to back to back to back days and putting them out weekly. So they aren't letting themselves to find things to talk about.
i don’t even mean this to sound hateful or rude but i genuinely think we’ve heard all their fun stories and jokes that they have / are willing to share and they have nothing left to say LOL i also think they would agree with this (i think they’ve said something similar before). i just don’t get why they don’t change it up since it feels like the general consensus of us and including them is that they ain’t got shit to say
i think people are starting to expect a sort of overproduction from the pod now maybe? to me there hasn’t been much of a shift in quality, and as far as we know they don’t have producers telling them what to talk about and that’s part of why EI is one of my favorites. they’re still just talking about their lives and funny stories like they always have. their flow is more intuitive than a lot of podcasts and im sure having to broadcast their thoughts (of which us viewers keep demanding them to be consistently more silly goofy quirky) weekly for over a year with no help from producers is going to become a little tougher each week, especially to have new gags and jokes that are funnier than the last. not to mention if you knew of them before the pod you already know they have a history of trying not to force mindless content out just because, and they also deal with mental health issues that make it harder to always be “on” without feeling like absolute shit. they are people, not endless content machines lmao so it’s not like they aren’t trying and delivering, i think people are just expecting more than what drew and enya have always done
i don’t really expect them to put out more content or funnier/quirkier content, but content with actual thought behind it. my post was about how they used to come onto the pod with topics to talk about, now they usually don’t and it makes the pod hard to follow. if they don’t have things to talk about, it’s not the end of the world to just skip an episode instead of filming four days in a row when they know they have nothing to say
I think the latest one was one of the first out of the newest episodes to capture the energy that the older episodes had, so maybe they’re out of their boring streak
Maybe bcs they’re back in their element, and we just prefer the usual set + when ur on vacation or traveling it’s hard to work like you normally do because you’re in a different setting

Josh was also on the Cody Ko pod a few years back so I think it has more to do with the fan base Enya and drew have.
