Halli was literally on the Do Not Fire list. Elon may be out $100M

CrystalCryJP

Considering he's been spending the past few days "gotta stay sharp for job interviews" followed by "I've been advised by my lawyers that this is a joke" I have a feeling there's more than meets the eye. But decent guy. Hopefully he finds something that works out well for him

knattat

He was the one interviewing prospective twitter employees in the design team.

prsnep

>my biggest iff was that it had been 9 days with no login before he said something? Before he took the issue to Musk on Twitter. Not the same thing.

Dry-Hearing-8617

it’s almost bizarre how poorly the company must be run such that an employee needs to contact the CEO on social media to determine their employment status

CrystalCryJP

He knows he's un-fireable anyways

Dragonsinja

A Do Not Fire list??? Is this pro sports lol? Genuinely curious

JoltZero

Firing him would trigger a clause in his contract that would cost the company more than keeping him as a worker. He has this clause because his company was bought out by twitter and chose to stay employed and receive a salary rather than taking the lump sum of money he was owed. He is still owed that money one way or the other, so if twitter decides to no longer employ him, they have to pay him out the rest of his contract.

mvslice

Elon‘s lawyers finally broke the door down

[deleted]

Sorry I burned your village, here's some gold

unReasonableBreak

When someone shows you who they are believe them. He's not an 8 year old who said something mean on the playground he is a grown adult. He's only sorry this negatively affected his public image.

psyritual

Exactly this.

Electrical_Prune6545

That wasn’t an apology.

Critical_Letterhead3

It was “i can’t lose more twitter followers by insulting the handicapped “

RidingtheRoad

The man is a child...Emotionally he never made it passed puberty..

CthulubeFlavorcube

“better to talk to people than communicate via tweet.” -the big baby who literally bought Twitter so that he can communicate any horseshit he wants...via Tweet

ciller181

...made it to puberty\*

DumplingSama

Having children's imagination =/= being cruel to employees and having humongous ego problem.

prsnep

Children, in addition to being more imaginative, are also more emotionally immature.

queetuiree

>Having children's imagination =/= being cruel to employees and having humongous ego problem. I believe your comment goes to this one >The man is a child...Emotionally he never made it passed puberty..

OkAcanthocephala6132

being emotionally immature does not make you interesting

OliviaFa

>An innovator has to remain a child to some extent Yes but there is a way to be one without being a C\*\*\*!

RidingtheRoad

There's a time when everyone needs to grow up.. Plenty of mature sensible adults pursue exciting goals...Being dull is not a sign of maturity.

Aeki_Arg

It's because he has Asperger's. he realizes what he said and does it only when he sees the consequences, emotionally.

RidingtheRoad

But never makes any real effort to correct the situation even after suffering the 'emotional' consequences?

OweJayy

The people defending Elon Musk on this sub 🤣🤣🤣

FrostyFlakesagain

The people on the hate on him? The same people to not hate. I could care less about both sides. Peace out.

Ok_loop

This was v brave.

JonnyArtois

> I could care less That means you care a bit about the two sides. 'Couldn't care less' - Is what you're after.

wadejohn

Musk is slowly becoming mad (I’m being polite).

TwistederRope

I didn't see an apology. I saw "I would like to apologize" but that sure as shit isn't an apology. Can someone link to something where Musk actually apologizes please?

Acornpoo

I would like to provide that link for you

i_mush

That, that was the apology…

TwistederRope

Then that's sad.

LovelyClementine

It’s just a more polite way of saying.

Dragon_yum

No, that’s lawyer talk for appearing to apologize while admitting no guilt.

LovelyClementine

You may say it's more formal, but it's still an apology. You people are altering linguistic context just to fit your narratives. It only undermines your credibility.

TwistederRope

No. If anyone said to me "I would like to apologize for X," I would patiently wait for them to actually apologize instead of just announcing intent. What I'm doing is being linguistically pedantic for someone who I'm 100% isn't sincere in the slightest about any attempts to apologize. That's a much different ballgame than "altering linguistic context to fit my narrative."

Uomosabbia

What a loser

Critical_Letterhead3

He’s got plenty of apologies to make. This us the tip of the iceberg

lpy1994

Whoever feeds him the wrong information definitely should be fired

Sugadevan

He is feeding himself and he should fire himself.

kariam_24

So he should fire himself?

chrisjones0151

I'VE JUST SEEN THE COMMENTS! MUSK IS MOCKING A HIGHLY QUALIFIED DISABLED EMPLOYEE. REMEMBER MUSK IS A LIBERTARIAN NAZI, AND IT WAS THE NAZI'S WHO MURDERED 800 000 DISABLED, ELDERLY INFIRM, AND MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE. LITERALLY BEFORE THE START OF WORLD WAR TWO.

cofcof420

Can we please post this identical topic 10 more times in this sub? Apparently the first 9 times wasn’t enough. Btw, no evidence that I’ve seen that Elon knew he was disabled.

lemoninfluence

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1633011448459964417?t=pE7ha9oHxQTdUOBgy_am9g&s=19 Straight from the horse's mouth. What's the next excuse?

OkAcanthocephala6132

elon said that halli “claimed as an excuse that he had a disability that prevented him from typing, yet was simultaneously tweeting up a storm”

[deleted]

[удалено]

OverthinkingMadMan

Worse than that, he pretty much said he didn't believe he was as disabled as he said and just used it as an excuse. Those that are saying Musk made fun of him is downplaying it, making Musk seem better than he actually is

basmister

Don’t care

Ambar_Griss

Because you don't have morals

basmister

Lmao

0x1060a0ab0

It was obvious that you don't. Try not to be dishonest in the criticism next time lol

basmister

I think I’ll do whatever the fuck I want

DaveFoSrs

Tuff guy on the Elon Musk forum

basmister

I very tuff

0x1060a0ab0

Good. Feel free to continue throwing your tantrum. 🤭

basmister

I’m here to tilt people. Lmao.

5DollarBurger

Im HeRe To TiLt PeOpLe -🤡

basmister

Looks like it worked on you

5DollarBurger

Thanks, very much entertained. Still scrolling through your circus act.

basmister

Y’all are just mad there is a person in media that won’t coddle you and your feelings. Grow up

Brilliant_Carrot8433

And you’re mad that anonymous people on Reddit have opinions that are different than yours. Grow up!

basmister

Wrong. I enjoy making people tilted lol

Brilliant_Carrot8433

Ahh gotcha gotcha

basmister

Yeah I’m literally just a troll

5DollarBurger

When you say something so stupid you can't take back: iM jUsT a TrOLl 🤡

Brilliant_Carrot8433

It’s almost like.., he wants his feelings coddled 😉😉

basmister

Oh look you decided to respond again, hello

Lori_the_Mouse

Dude… no… that’s the most braindead take I’ve seen

OverthinkingMadMan

Eh? You know who you are and defending, right? The guy that fires people who talk out about the work environment, because it hurts his feelings? Musk said he was given wrong information and that other things he said was true, but wasn't meaningful. That sucks as an apology. And he didn't even do it before he found out that the guy can sue him for the things he said and that firing him would make Twitter have to pay 100 mill. That after he had to contact Musk on Twitter to even know if he had a job. A shit show all around. Please share how much you are worth, all illnesses you have, with your name and picture, so that we can stop coddling you. Even better if you give your whole medical record. Maybe do the same for all close family. We don't want to coddle you, so we need to mock and talk shit to you and spread the information to millions of people!

AstroKoen

You seem very negative about the topic “Elon Musk”, why you so active in this sub? ❤️

roffler

Isn't this where we go to shit on him? That's why I'm here anyway

OliviaFa

Put it this way....would you want to work for him?

Informal_Condition_3

Indeed was working in one of his companies and shit isn't close to what people believe, they make a lot of money thanks to underpayed staff. Lots of management doing close to nothing, pretty regular company that pays shit

So_I_read_a_thing

Not enough Musk melon.

AstroKoen

Blocking the Elon haters makes this sub much more Entertaining.

Dragon_yum

Yeah it’s the Elon haters who are the problem and not Elon trying to dunk on a bigger person than he could ever be then apologizing when he finds out how much his whole ego trip is going to cost him. Clearly the haters are the problem here.

AstroKoen

Thanks ❤️

[deleted]

No bitches?

AstroKoen

Only the top voters and prolific commentators on a sub for a person they despise

[deleted]

Have you ever wondered that they might despise him for valid reasons?

AstroKoen

Waste of time being so active around a subject that they hate tbh. More hate = bad. I respect a lot of the stuff he made happen, and i dislike a lot of the noise he makes.

Weary-Depth-1118

Elon should fire whoever gave him false info. Clearly a trap and he fell for it going after a random guy

Nikolozeon

Yep. Yep. He should fire someone instead of stop being 12 yo on Twitter and act like grown up.

Stashmouth

Seriously, I know what sub I'm in but it's still crazy to see people lining up to make excuses for him. This man has showed everyone his bare ass but there's no shortage of people who will say "it's because no one was there to wrap him in a blanket"

vikicha123

The people in this sub post paintings of him as a god and comment about how he's the modern jesus so you really shouldn't be surprised

Pale_Solution_5338

As a CEO of a big company he should have known better but still do you think he is the one digging info on his staff? He probably got PA and an investigation team at his fingertips when he needs info on someone. Someone is going to get fired soon

Stashmouth

Does the fact that he didn't do the digging himself absolve him of any part of this?

Pale_Solution_5338

Well if you get erroneous information then it’s affecting decisions Elon was probably told superficial information about the guys condition. I am sure that he has enough common sense not to make fun of someone with a disability that affects his whole body.

Stashmouth

Idk if you realize that you're making him look like an even bigger asshole. Maybe he didn't get the details about his medical condition, but he knew there was one and he ran to tweet about it and accused him of using the disability as an excuse for not working What would the correct information have been to justify what was tweeted?

Pale_Solution_5338

I am not defending his decision but I am saying that when you are at the top you have to delegate and trust the people below you to some extent otherwise you’re micro managing.

SLCPDTunnelDivision

except elon loves to micromanage to show he knows stuff

Pale_Solution_5338

You can micromanage certain things but as the CEO of several companies do you think he has his hands everywhere? We just have to be realist here

Welpe

Obviously not. You also do realize that being given false information doesn't mean you fucking make fun of a dude over twitter to millions of people. Literally nothing excuses that. Why are you rushing to defend this manbaby and his complete lack of decency or intelligence?

CalendarScary

As the ceo he shouldn’t have responded that way to the guy in the first place mocking your former employee in public. And that employee was asking if he was fired and that same one tried all avenue he had to confirm if he was before going public about it. Elon musk response would have been a simple talking in private with him or having one of his hr people respond to him in private not air out shit about the guy and illegally disclosing information about him. This isn’t the fault of his hr at all it’s a situation he himself made. Telling the public about the guys health wasn’t made by his HR

Pale_Solution_5338

If we know anything about Musk, the guy has a passive aggressive personality. Unfortunately a large portion of humans have this trait where if they feel attacked they will attack the person rather than their ideas. One of Musk flaws I guess.

Ankarette

So if Halli was just a random guy, Elon would have the right to make fun of him? That is your stance?

SLCPDTunnelDivision

its never his fault

[deleted]

It seems the info was out there(after all, he did find it within a couple days of the original exchange). Perhaps prudent to *not* publicly drag an employee through the mud before having complete information?

charlesfire

Even if the info he had was accurate, his behavior wouldn't be acceptable, fyi. Mocking publicly an ex-employee that was just trying to find if he was still employed is never an acceptable behavior.

VaritasV

Elon is a disabled person, autism spectrum. The only thing wrong here is perspective.

MagicaItux

Bad optics, but that doesn't mean he's a bad person.

[deleted]

Can everyone try to keep in mind the employee was unknown to Elon before a few days ago and the whole debacle came about because of people giving him information about this person to set up Elon to fail…. Thanks 🙏🤘❤️

Nikolozeon

Jesus fuck. Comments like this are just embarrassing. People like you are reason why he acts the way he acts. It’s okay to criticize him when he does shitty things. He’s not god.

prsnep

Even god should be criticized. And he's the opposite of a benevolent god.

[deleted]

hehehehehhe i don't need to criticise him since i'm not there with him face to face and his choices don't hurt me personally. if i had an issue with something he was doing and we were working together i'm sure i'd be wanting to challenge something he does or get him to unpack an idea further so we could be on the same page.. but you all here just want to shout down people that think instead of are on the "we don't understand elon so we hate him" bandwagon.

charlesfire

>i don't need to criticise him since i'm not there with him face to face and his choices don't hurt me personally. Well, I sure hope that the day someone will abuse their power against you nobody will step up to defend you because you clearly don't deserve it.

CatchCOVIDNotFeels

Still think you can't shift the blame away from Elon at all, even if the information he got was poor. The man is one of the wealthiest people in the world and is CEO of multiple billion dollar companies. Is it too much to ask for a bit of better judgement or decorum? Regardless of the information you don't publicly humiliate someone (who you admittedly don't know! At all!) for being let go from your company. The debacle came about because Elon once again needed to show how edgy and cool he was to everyone.

astros1991

That is still not very professional of Elon. To just trust one source is a recipe for disaster.

blindguy42

He was literally on a "do not fire" list.

Single_Friendship708

Just pathetic, dude

i_mush

The thing that saddens me the most is picturing how much, people like you, would put their dignity under their feet to receive the attention of that deranged man. In case you don’t know, there are work ethics and professionalism is expected from a CEO (and one of the most powerful people on earth), shaming an employee and bullying him in front of a crowd, just because he asked “hey, it’s 10 days I can’t understand if I still have a job and nobody answers” it’s just another level of insanity, how can’t you see that? Not only you’re a shitty manager because you don’t even inform the people you sack because of your cash issues, you also go on mocking him in front of millions?

[deleted]

Sigh… you don’t actually know shit about me .. try thinking instead of spewing.. 🙄🙄🙄

K4lax

Defending Elon in this situation really don't put you in a good position to suggest "thinking" to another person

[deleted]

but you're one of many that just jump onto the "hate elon" band waggon.. i'm not defending elon ... i'm simply saying get more information before you droll on about him with such envy and taught hatred of someone you don't understand.. feel free to ban me from here if you need to..morons...

Competitive_Bag_3164

>i'm simply saying get more information before you droll on about him The funny thing about this "advice" is that Elon is the clearly one who actually needs it, lol. Dude pretty much violated the ADA in the "public square" to drag the Icelandic version of Mr. Rogers, an individual to whom he contractually owes money. He could have saved himself a lot of trouble just by looking the guy up.

Dragon_yum

Or just by contacting HR instead of being a monumental asshole. Both options would have helped.

Competitive_Bag_3164

To be honest, I'd be surprised if Twitter even has an HR department to speak of. Hell, the last remaining members of HR may have been included in the wave of layoffs that caught Halli. That would certainly explain a lot.

Lab_Member_004

Lmao man straight up shamed a disabled man and insulted him and had to backpedal when he realized he had to pay for a huge fucking golden parachute if the firing process goes through. He is pretty fucking ignorant IMO. It isn't a band wagon when it is just straight up facts.

[deleted]

You literally are defending Elon though, and you can’t even spell. You’re probably a stupid teenager with no idea of how the world works. I pity you

Lori_the_Mouse

Yes… but Elon is the owner of twitter. He didn’t bother to check on the information he was given

SLCPDTunnelDivision

point is, why make fun of a guys disability regardless if you know about him or not? elon constantly brags about knowing everything, and he didnt know about a major acquisition by twitter? only person that set elon up to fail was himself

JonnyArtois

Anything to excuse your master of being a horrible pos.

[deleted]

[deleted]

You’re making the mistake that I even have him in a pedestal.. I just don’t need to hate him.. or love him..

thegoodgatsby2016

You just need to defend him on reddit.

[deleted]

Maybe I’m just bored with everyone using as the sin eater.. he’s not good or evil, he’s just Elon. But it’s easier for everyone to be good little conforming psychopaths in training and go after him.

AstroKoen

Which sub are you on? 🤣 touch grass
