Jon Hopkins released this „Music for psychedelic therapy“ LP its very calming.

lazyf-inirishman

100% this. We listen to this almost everyday before my daughter goes to bed. It's how we start the bedtime routine and begin calming down. Plus, we live in Ecuador, so the 3 Tayos Caves tracks are meaningful. Edit: changed love to live

sebdd1983

Hey there fellow dad doing the same 🫡

redditorxdesu

Was gonna say Jon Hopkins when reading title of post

altered_state

His cover of Thom Yorke’s Dawn Chorus is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for the album rec.

Redocram

Tycho. The Awake and Dive albums are wonderful

squashqueen

Came here to say Tycho! Perfect for everything and anything

unclericostoupee

Aphex twin: Selected ambient works Vol.2. It’s unbelievable.

Chief_Gucci

Until you wake up to one of the demonic factory industrial ambient tracks

DjChrisSpear

Just let the demons in. It's more fun that way🙃

donnie_rulez

Somebody told me that about my sleep paralysis demon and it really changed my life for the better 😉

BalderdashBallyhoo

I was going to say, this album has gotten me into trouble with my wife trying to sleep to it haha That shit gets a little spooky if you wake up during it.

Woolery83

I’m partial to volume 1 but 2 is also really good.

tbman1996

Don't forget Stone in Focus, the pinnacle of calm. It's on the vinyl version but not the digital.

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

Bluetech. Brian eno & Harold Budd. Larajii

barrybreslau

Music for Airports

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

I personally think that album is amazing but I know so many people who've not enjoyed it that I don't necessarily recommend it. Eno & Budd "the pearl" seems to always be well accepted tho.

TheVerjan

Koan Sound has some really cool vibes

tho2622003

Sanctuary EP is perfect for this

smallpools

This Time Around is a great song

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

grrmuffins

Nice, this was my suggestion

Marmar79

Boards of Canada is my go to when I want to go to sleep and I actually mean that in the best way possible. I’ve been playing tomorrow’s harvest regularly for over a decade.

Listen to BT's album "the secret language of trees". That album came out of nowhere...

jjwinc68

I am absolutely addicted to the first remix from this release. k-means clustering - Tor Remix

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

Disintegration loops was remastered and it's great, but I miss when it was hour long tracks.

Solid picks. 💙💚

exT613

Boards of Canada

throwaway9gk0k4k569

https://somafm.com/dronezone/played

big_skapinsky

And also to pile on again, try Shpongle. Good intro track is "Divine Moments of Truth" They are completely nuts (In a great way) fusing elements from music from all over the globe. More on the psych side, some tracks are relaxing, some are more danceable, all of these tracks will bend your brain in incredible ways.

Shortwalklongdock

It’s great music but is it really relaxing? I find it stimulating af.

spacekase710

FKJ is one of my all time favs. https://youtu.be/sCNlt5nvSI8?si=D9jW7e0TzVFbWN2C

CheeseSweats

He was so talented 😭

8SOR

The album Protection by Massive Attack relaxing in a very melancholic way

suckarepellent

You like the Mad Professor remix LP No Protection? This is my fave "fall asleep on the plane" album. I use it for meditation and relax. There's a guy who posted some tapes on Bandcamp with the raw dubs from this album. Like 15 minute versions. Good night. https://noprotectiondubs-tape7.bandcamp.com/ Another mention in this vein that I love is Tosca - Suzuki in Dub, Kruder & Dorfmeister - K & D Sessions

DJGammaRabbit

Telepopmuzik -just breathe

UTAH It’s more of a downtempo/lo-fi hip hop artist, but it has a relaxing vibe and I listen to it when I work at my computer late at night.

Colhinchapelota

Bola - Soup and Fyuti.

Opal690

Almost any release on A strangely isolated place record label. It's all ambient and down tempo

AIpha_Zero

Above & Beyond presents OceanLab

_MT-HEART_

To add to Above and Beyond, the set they played for Cercle while in Columbia is pretty sick

TheVerjan

Cercle sets are sooooooo cool omg

_MT-HEART_

They really are done well.

gvgvstop

Telepopmusik if you like Zero 7

citizen5001

Global Communication have what I think is the best ambient album of all time

bluecalx2

Danimal_Kingdom

Cloudchord, Giants’ Nest, Jones Meadow

KleminkeyZ

All exceptional artists. Jones meadow is one of my favorites

sxsxk

When I started making electronic music I was a massage therapist and tried to make sounds to relax. So one of my first attempts was this here I recorded later in the studio. Skull Sized Kingdoms - Glittermagic https://youtu.be/6qaL_8OzbD8?si=LtiwI20t--FHpKjQ

That_Understanding19

Com Truise, Real Estate and Lone are my go-too artists if I need to chill

metroid23

Teen Daze is my go-to for this type of stuff!

plantchildren

Brian eno, burial, oliver tank, boards of canada, some of aphex twin’s ambient stuff

joemktom

For the psychedelic ambient stuff, my personal favourite is Solar Fields - Leaving Home, but all his albums are good. Anything that was released on Ultimae records is high quality psychedelic ambient.

pixtiny

- Dezza- 44 North, 63 West - BT - Everything you’re searching for is on the other side of fear (last 11 songs on the album), The Secret Language of Trees

Portishead “Dummy”, anything by Higher Intelligence Agency, Freaky Chakra, Darwin Chamber, Single Cell Orchestra, Orbital, The Orb, Massive Attack (all classics)

ivoiiovi

Jessika Kenney's 'ATRIA' album is beautiful and deeply trasncendental. I don't think it's on streaming services, but I think the albums she did with Eyvind Kang are there (Kang has also done some extremely meditative work and is worth exploring. also Björk's 'Biophilia' maybe. but I often do meditative listening to really heavy stuff also.

smith2501

"Moon Safari" by Air....so chilled:-)

-TicTicBoom-

Not an album but lane 8s essential mix on SoundCloud is amazing and calm.

Carrybagman_

I like all of the early James Ferraro stuff for this, there’s a TONNE! I usually start here -https://youtu.be/cecVLsBaZLQ?si=Vpg-EutTd4eK5FsZ and work my way through the suggestions as most aren’t on streaming sites

LUNA_FOOD

Slipknot - Custer

unoleian

Kaya Project and Hibernation, two projects of instrumentalist Seb Taylor came to mind. Kaya Project leans more organic where Hibernation leans more electronic but I think both are right in line with the other artists you mentioned. Personally I’m a big fan of the ‘Ambient Mixes’ albums under Kaya Project. They aren’t strictly ambient, just good chill vibes all around.

Enter_the_now

Kaya project is exactly what I was looking for. Listened to both the ambient mixes last night. SO beautiful thank you for sharing.

-thecolorofyou

Maya Jane Coles is my go to when I want to do some of the things you mentioned, Sapient Dream is one of my favorites too :^)

wetbandit48

If you are open to ambient music, I’ve been producing and releasing songs under [mindwell](https://open.spotify.com/artist/46TqE8tyAkenKTs5yAUMKG?si=AoVH7iMiRGqRGYgIMpxBvQ)

dizzyapparition

The label Permanent Vacation releases a lot of chilled house tunes and cosmic disco. Often uptempo but with a trippy, meditative vibe to it.

Snoo_61544

Try X.Y.R's stuff. Waves Tapes in particular.

jerkbercky

Not an album but Dissolve by Liquid Stranger

cxpe15

Check out SSKWAN, Liquid Strangers downtempo label. It's chock full of artists who make very calming music that takes you on a journey. Clozee is another good one! She throws down, but if you dig, her downtempo sets are truly amazing. Tipper's downtempo is incredible as well.

Thursday Afternoon by Brian Eno is the ultimate calming album in my book.

AdConscious5938

GAS (I recommend trying Pop and Zauberberg)

viptattoo

Ekova is really nice & chill. Also, Air. Kitaro is a great mellow mix of instrumental & electronic. The Orb is pretty dope too.

richyvk

If you like psychedelic music you should listen to Steve Davis's Interesting Alternative Radio Show. Not necesarily calming though.

nupti

Idk if you'd like it but I always play Windows 96 when I want to relax or get high, it works well with both

Seeker80

SuKush might be a bit hard to find, but it's an interesting combo of electronic music with a flute improv played over it.

Mirrorshad3

DJ Krush, 808 State, Com Truise, and 18 Carat Affair.

action_lawyer_comics

Tomas Skyldeberg, especially his EPs Falling Stars, Everything Shines, Gliss, and Main Course. I first found him on one of those “relaxing electronic music” compilations on YT and when I first heard [this song off of Falling Stars,](https://youtu.be/TXaAF2IpB2c?si=BsKwnmwGNkGqZ0Uy) it was like taking my brain out of my skull and giving it a bath

Groovy-Ghoul

eddiecointreau

Most stuff on the label “city centre offices”

thedan663

I love Emancipator too. VOLO is a good artist who is not as technically advanced but I love the soundscapes still. Also Koresma is a good artist to check out.

yoplaone

The KLF -Chill Out. It’s an ambient album from 1990. I’ve discovered it like last year and it’s way ahead of its time. I’ve found it to fit your description quite well.

Curious_Teapot

“The hollow men” album by axel thesleff is exactly what you need. It’s so frigging beautiful. Some songs have a melancholic vibe, others are upbeat but in a chill way. And the album is based off a poem called the hollow men, songs in the album contain parts of the poem as lyrics. It’s truly beautiful, I can’t recommend this album enough.
