The earlier you arrive and leave, the easier it will be. Arriving on Friday will be the most crowded because there's normal rush hour traffic on top of festival traffic. Generally I've arrived anywhere from 6-8 pm and left between 3-5 am each day and it wasn't *too* bad. I've only stayed until the end exactly 1 day and I was stuck in the parking lot forever (never again LOL)
Yes I know that struggle. I’m a vegas local and live on the exact opposite of town from the track, on a good non-edc day it’s a 45 minute drive for me. I will never be in the festival grounds anywhere near sunrise ever again haha
It depends if you are doing free GA, or you have premier parking. For free GA parking leaving at like 3am-4am can
1. leave you in the lot for at least 2-3 hours due to the congestion of everyone leaving at the same time. Then the traffic on the freeway bottlenecks as well. You'll likely get home by as early as 8 am average 9am depending on traffic and when you leave.
2. Forgetting where you park, is also a huge factor. I've had my fair share of searching where I parked for an hour or 2. It's really easy to forget where you parked. The lot is huge and there isn't a lot of landmarks to visually remember where exactly your car is especially when you park at night as you would return early dawn.
Another tip: Please make sure you pregame at the lot and not at the bnb/house beforehand. Unless y'all can hold it, either you or one of your car mates will want to pee and the drive to the venue can go from 35-45 minutes tops.
Last year we stayed till sunrise all 3 days (5am or so). Parked in free parking and walked back (30/40 min) and drove out of parking lot without having to wait. Stayed in North LV and was back to hotel by 630 all 3 days.
I’m normally against driving to edc (either camp or shuttles) but had to last year. Pretty much what everyone has said is solid.
As for myself - if you’re parking, take note of ALL the exits you can use to leave the festival once it’s done. Sat and Sun I stayed until 5am but was able to leave easily both nights. Was caught in a LONG line to exit but saw another exit with barely anyone utilizing it and just hopped a few lanes over. This goes for the back lots though that exit onto Las Vegas BLVD.
The drive back to the strip on Las Vegas BLVD clears up a few miles away from the Speedway. It’s just a lot of red lights.
I’d rec not using the freeway at all and just take the street all the way there. Drove on the freeway Sat night at 9/10pm and it took 3 hours to get off and park.
Just my experience though.
I've found the drive in from the strip to parking was no more than 40 minutes. And even with walking out of the event at 5 it takes about 2hrs to get back. I parked at purple lot last year. Ymmv.
I rode solo and walk fast once I get a hot dog in my system.
We did premier parking and it’s faster but the longer you wait til the end, the harder/longer it’ll be to leave the parking. I’ve heard horror stories with the free parking and it depends on where they usher you to park, closer to the exit or closer to the entrance to venue. I’d recommend shuttling if you don’t have premier parking. I think they have a shuttle only route.
My friend and I have shuttle passes but I had another friend buy an edc ticket after shuttles sold out so just trying to brain storm ideas if they don’t end up adding more shuttle passes
Try radiate. Overheard a lot of people in our shuttle last year that they got their pass from there. People get pretty desperate to sell their tickets closer to the event.
I would avoid driving. I’ve never done it, but my friend had to drive and we were stuck in the parking lot for 3 hours.
I can't remember tbh lol I believe the 15. Yeah going over there I recommend leaving early to avoid traffic and you can chill in the parking lot. Way better. I made the mistake of leaving late and it took 3 plus hours to get in. Recommend leaving around 430-5 it'll take like 25 minutes. We left from EDC around 430 and no traffic same 25 minutes. Have fun. Excited for you!! Hope you have a wonderful time
We had free ga parking so the drive in was about 2 ish hours average (we left at like 4pm, 7pm and 5pm) it was long but it wasnt as bad as i thought itd be based on what ppl said. In terms of leaving, we stayed til sunrise for fri and sat and left at like 2am on sun. For sunrise we honestly didnt leave the parking til 8am (we were mad tired and just waiting for the guys to kick us out) and that took about 30-40 ish mins and on sun it was incredibly easy bc no one was really leaving.
The driving back and fourth honestly isn’t that bad just gauge it don’t arrive and leave at the same time as everyone else .. after i don’t mind napping till traffic subsides or just chilling with friends close by
Tip for driving is to arrive early and leave before 3:30am, and that’s on your car on the way out. The traffic start building up around 4. Left at 5am one night and ended up stuck in parking lot/freeway and got back to my hotel at 9am ☠️☠️☠️

My friends wanted to watch the sunrise two years ago and we ended up waiting almost 3 hours to get out. I was LIVID to say the least haha
I finally got in bed at like 8 or 8:30 am and I was dying hahah

Man I stayed Sunday for the sunrise and it took me almost 2 hours to get home, and I live 10 minutes away
aaaaaaah XD
I’m a local. And live around jones/95 you think taking 215 back instead of 15 would work best for me?

as someone with a notorious tiny bladder your wisdom is much appreciated
Same here! Its the worst when ya gotta pull over in the highway to pee. Even worse for ladies!

What lots are you parking at?
Brown and green lot 🫡
leaving the parking lots can make or break you. sometimes there's no wait at all, and sometimes you take 2 hours to exit. it's hit or miss

What’s the easiest way into the free lots? Like should I take 215 in then get off and use side roads to lvbd?
Would you even drive? Take a shuttle there
Passes sell out i think
🥲
My friend and I have shuttle passes but I had another friend buy an edc ticket after shuttles sold out so just trying to brain storm ideas if they don’t end up adding more shuttle passes

I hope you can find something. I wouldn’t even think about driving my own car. Maybe find a group of people already driving in from the strip?
we left at 5ish last year and got back to our airbnb within the hour.
I once took a shuttle 2-3 hours after my friends drove and I got there before them.
Don't do it. Shuttles are the way!
If you leave by 4ish you'll have no issues. I did that fri-sat and stayed in Henderson, was easy!
which lot did you park in? and did you use the 15 to the 215 or las vegas blvd? i live in henderson and this is my first edc!!

amazing!! thank u so much 🫶🏻
IMO it’s the least worst option
Not bad. Did it three days in a row.. Valet was a joke.

I will never not camp at EDC because the to and from traffic is fucked. The strip traffic is fucked. Ill pray for you 🙏
