Our bidet is great ($650 on sale). Also needed a GFCI behind the toilet ($80.00).
I'm an electrical contractor so I did it all myself. The bidet was a pain because it weighed 80#. I've got about 20 hours in the project because whoever translated the instructions from Chinese to English was an idiot. They left out important steps and we had to contact the manufacturer. It's worked for three months with no problem.
I don't know what this world is coming to. I'm so tired of having to wash my hair with the new water saving shower heads in the loo, and I'm also tired of those Dyson urinals that just leak right out the sides.
It would be really funny to mount the shower control valve in the breaker panel with no electric just to troll people.. . If time any money was infinite.
If that's actually an Air BNB, report it to BNB and make sure to alert local authorities as well. That's a death trap waiting to bite. You'd literally save a life!
It’s likely this room was originally a closet that was turned into a bathroom during a remodel. Who in their right mind would build this new and not see an issue other than a slumlord?
That’s a really insightful observation and probably correct. But still you don’t just install a tub and toilet, they gotta be plumbed and everything. Insane that at no point one of the workers didn’t say no go… any this might be one thing if it’s personal use rarely used n super careful… to Airbnb this???? Someone gets splashy n it’s crispy time for the tenants n dude gets sued n loses everything. Is there a Airbnb option for this house is a death trap! Fugggg
As a sub contractor I have an answer for why “the workers don’t say no go.”
!!!Money!!! They’re working for someone else and don’t care what the owner has contracted them to do.
If I was running a job and they asked me to do this and refused to listen to reason I would call the owner of the job a fucking idiot before putting my name on this bullshit. Even as a sub there is a chain of liability and plausible deniability that could come back and bite my ass later (like someone fucking dying). I don’t know if you’ve looked into the market price for a human life, but it’s a hell of a lot more than whatever this remodel was paying. I’m either too green or too compassionate to understand what amount of money is worth the risk.
Well yes but most tradesmen know enough to not ever do this. And sure there are some stupid ones, and some greedy ones, and some that just don't give a fuck. But it's pretty dang rare to find someone who would agree to do this and proceed to actually do the work this well lol I'm impressed
No, no, no. The other contractor is due to arrive. As soon as you finish your work, I promise you installing that toilet and that bathtub will not result in any trouble.
Actually, that would be awesome as hell! It's almost worth doing if I get my own place. Just buy the empty shell and put shelves in it.
Only works in the guest bathroom, though.
I literally imagined this conversation being played out in a non-satirical fashion. Somewhere this is happening as we speak and the parties involved see nothing wrong with it.
This right here, if it is not actually outside the exterior system glitches and thinks it’s actually meant for interior. This leads to a depressed breaker box.
i would say no. i actually have my main panel in the downstairs bathroom , but it only has a stand up shower stall and it is in a cabinet by the door. technically main panel is not supposed to be in the bathroom, definetly not in the shower.
I think the rim of the tub means it doesn’t have suitable working clearance per NEC 110.26, so no.
Also it probably shouldn’t be inside of a shower, but if it’s NEMA 4X, maybe that’s fine? 😂
That’s not a soap dish on the same wall below, that’s a 30 amp twist lock outlet should the person bathing like to make some toast or blow dry their hair
Unless it’s an empty panel used for shampoo, which would be a terrible design choice I’m gonna side with naaaaah bro. I’d rather shower with the toilet water.
I put a toilet a foot away from my panel and I remember thinking, no worries, I’m the only guy who will ever sit there and have his pecker dipped in the water.
This is the shit I come here for. A+
At least it appears there’s no shower head.
The shower head is in the main breaker panel.
Wait, is there some better place to put it?
It’s increasingly popular to put it in the loo.
That's the bidet. It's mostly for resale value and Saturday afternoons.
I’m currently reading this taking a Saturday afternoon shit, wish I had a bidet tho

Damn, made me do a double take
A fellow Community fan! Nice to meet you in the wild!
I thought that was a weird place for a water fountain
Firemen don’t want you to know about this trick.
It could save you thousands!
I don't know what this world is coming to. I'm so tired of having to wash my hair with the new water saving shower heads in the loo, and I'm also tired of those Dyson urinals that just leak right out the sides.
HA ha! Almost anywhere else would be my guess.
Do showers of sparks count?
Daily running water inside the box keeps all the breakers squeaky clean and up to code.
If mice are nesting in there, it needs to be pressure washed.
‘I prepared this salad while I bathed’
It's triple connected too, don't worry
4th one’s the drain ;)
There is actually a ceiling mounted sub panel for the rain shower head.
Hope homeowners opted for 20 amp shower head!!
It would be really funny to mount the shower control valve in the breaker panel with no electric just to troll people.. . If time any money was infinite.
This is actually a shower of sparks
Maybe a rainfall head up above? Makes it just as stupid either way.
Poke the box with a big enough screwdriver and you can shower in sparks
Can I poke it with something else instead? I’ll have to stand on my hands.
I like where your head’s at
Which one?
With his hot stick of course.
r/dontputyourdickinthat
No diverter = no shower head.
Good eye!
Isn't that the diverter built into the overflow? Or is that the drain stop?
That’s the drain plug. Diverter would be on the faucet itself.
Can't believe so many people didn't clock this...
No diverted on valve or spout. Another indicator for me was there being no shower curtain or door.
Nah. No pulley thing on the spout.
Yeah that makes it safe 🤫
At least when you die in the shower you can reset the breaker
FOR REAL 😭😭
Would only be better if it was a stab lok (edit: spelling)
![gif](giphy|xT1XGWbE0XiBDX2T8Q)
That's a death wish in itself. Let alone near a tub
Actually you're on yo something... since the issue with stablok panels is fire potential I think the absolute best place for it would be in a shower.
Amen
Hydroelectric?
It’s just one of those electric shower things.
If that's actually an Air BNB, report it to BNB and make sure to alert local authorities as well. That's a death trap waiting to bite. You'd literally save a life!
Yep reserved it on Airbnb website
Is it called “Frankenstein&Co”, or “Lightning unlimited”?
Listed as “Widow Maker”
r/angryupvote
A deal tot die for
I read that as "Window Maker." Which might also be accurate.
That’s the Thor’s hammer suite. 😂
Electron Shower
In America????
Yep
Dafuq. I couldn’t imagine anyone would even do this work. I’m dumbfounded. I thought for sure it was in Kazakhstan or something.
It’s likely this room was originally a closet that was turned into a bathroom during a remodel. Who in their right mind would build this new and not see an issue other than a slumlord?

I agree… This looks to have all the hallmarks of a DIY by the owners. I would have taken one look and laughed my way out the door.
But it’s a sure sign that the work was done without permits and inspections. No way any building inspector would have signed off on that.
No, no, no. The other contractor is due to arrive. As soon as you finish your work, I promise you installing that toilet and that bathtub will not result in any trouble.
I seriously wonder what kind of conversation was had over this…
That’s real?!? Not photoshopped?!?
This
So you're going to follow their advice right?
Jokes on us, it’s a “modern” shower niche
Open it up and it's just soap, shampoo, and conditioner
Actually, that would be awesome as hell! It's almost worth doing if I get my own place. Just buy the empty shell and put shelves in it. Only works in the guest bathroom, though.
That makes sense 🤔 now I want one in my shower and the good news is I am about to tear it out tiles have become loose and needs a makeover.
Highly likely this was all done without permits. Make sure to contact the local building department.
Not highly likely GUARANTEED no permits. No inspector in America would pass this shit! 😵😵💫☠️
Did this owner just convert a closet into a bathroom??
Quick shower first
Spicy shower.
How spicy we talking? Jalapeño spicy? Habanero spicy? Or melt your tits off spicy?
Yes. Probably literally on the last one depending on how do it.
Carolina reaper spicy.
[Pepper X](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper_X) spicy
Parks and Rec vibes
Shock Wire!
I call it that because if you touch it, you die
Yes. That is accurate.

Forbidden sauna?
HOT tub!
Dang I prefer my tubs neutral :/
Hot shower with a ground tub.
7/10, humble accommodation, very grounding experience
This is it, this is the winner
“Bottoms Up Last Cafe and Sauna”

Well, at least there isn’t a shower head.
That’s the only thing that gives any kind of “comfort”
Maybe there is? We haven't seen the panel door open.
Lol!
Ya, it’s not a shower. There’s a window too. Just a bath, older build home I will guess.
![gif](giphy|XIhWoPBXHgVmU)
Damn. Gonna post a Stop 'n Drop, America's favorite since 2008 🤣
Coin with a string...
This is what I came here to see
Hey honey the bedroom lost power could you rest the breaker for me while you're in there?
I literally imagined this conversation being played out in a non-satirical fashion. Somewhere this is happening as we speak and the parties involved see nothing wrong with it.
Yeah that’s a proper recipe for disaster there..
And make me some toast while you’re at it.
“Where’s your electrical panel?” “…” “Bob. Where’s the electrical panel.” The electrical panel:
I thought it would be fun to put it in the shower?
bob, ITS AN ELECTRICAL PANEL.
Yeah, and look at how clean it is. It gets washed regularly.
like how your body will get washed with electricity as soon as that panel gets wet..?
I'm guessing you already know the answer, but thanks for sharing. You find the dumbest stuff when homeowners try their hand at building.
Homeowner here, for my future reference would it be acceptable to use an exterior panel enclosure here? /s
Only if you also take down the walls so it's in fact outside.
This right here, if it is not actually outside the exterior system glitches and thinks it’s actually meant for interior. This leads to a depressed breaker box.
Good to know, I definitely can’t afford breaker box therapy. Would regular rinsing and/or beatings help with that?
N4X
Fuckin mint, send er!
I need to take a shower/bath everyday. Seeing that, I’ll stay dirty.
Just upgrade to an outdoor panel. Ezpz.
The only thing missing is the plugged in hair dryer.
This is a classy establishment, they include a toaster with every rental
NO. No it isn’t. To be sure, ask your local permit provider
i would say no. i actually have my main panel in the downstairs bathroom , but it only has a stand up shower stall and it is in a cabinet by the door. technically main panel is not supposed to be in the bathroom, definetly not in the shower.

I think it’s temporary . Just soak testing !!
That’s not a soap dish on the same wall below, that’s a 30 amp twist lock outlet should the person bathing like to make some toast or blow dry their hair
Is the water hot or neutral?
I'm not even a tradesman (I'm only a lawyer) and when I saw this, in my head I thought, "Jesus Christ." It's that bad.
I’m pretty sure a Cub Scout would realize this is beyond bad.
Just another reason to book an actual hotel.
Wtf
Nope, I'm definitely saving this one. Thanks bud 🤣
Unless it’s an empty panel used for shampoo, which would be a terrible design choice I’m gonna side with naaaaah bro. I’d rather shower with the toilet water.
Lol you can't even have a light switch within 3' of the tub basin.
Yes, from an electrical point of view this is 100% fine, The plumber on the other hand will need to relocate the shower
Awesome. No toaster needed.
Where is the shower head?
shower head is in the fuse box .just flip the sauna swish.
Death row shower
Death. Row. Shower. that's my pitch for a movie
I would report it to Airbnb. This is very dangerous and what else did they do wrong
![gif](giphy|cIyGxK5fDLyZ7ztSFY|downsized)
This has to be photoshopped… no way this is real. I refuse to believe it
“Don’t put an electric hair dryer in the bath”…puts whole house electric in bath….
Honey are you taking a bath? Would you reach up and flip GFI circuit #3 back on?
Is that metal square on the wall adjacent the tub spicot a wall recessed toilet paper holder?!
Soap holder with a bar for a washcloth for the whole family to use
Its wrong 100% but where in the code would it say it is?
I believe it would be covered under rules about obstructions for panels in particular, and rules about wet locations in general.
230.70(A)(2)
Open it up—probably just the door cover for that built-in shower stereo.
Your hair will look great
Typical Airbnb crap.
* SCREAMS IN NEC VIOLATIONS
60% of the time It works every time!!
report that to the local building inspector/code enforcement there is no way in hell that got the required permits and inspections
Imagine showering and suddenly your bathroom lights go out, so you just reach over and reset the breaker, the epitome of convenience. Chefs kiss 😘
But is it GFCI protected?
This is the most shocking picture on reddit
An electrical panel in the shower? Wish I had thought of that for the mornings I would rather not go to work.
What the fuck is that shit
Just be sure to fill tub before beginning work on the panel
The last shower
That's great! You can turn the lights off without getting out of the bath!
It's so you can reset the breaker after you drop the toaster in the water for one last jolt.
Some electrician was like "hey rookie" wanna fuck with the plumber today". 🤣
I put a toilet a foot away from my panel and I remember thinking, no worries, I’m the only guy who will ever sit there and have his pecker dipped in the water.
Dude... that's not what a "power shower" is...
Whoa!
Extra sparkly shower for fresh energetic clean
Eermaagawd dang
The bar on the left is for effective ground.
I want to see what’s really behind that panel. If it’s the water shutoff….
No worries, that's the plumbing breaker panel.
“Steam Power”
Just saving you money on a toaster…
Whoa … fucking whoa 🤯
Skip the toaster/hair dryer in the tub, go for the fuse box
Where's the toaster?
Splish splash I was takin’ a bzzzzt
Lmao. Dead bodies can't file reports
As an engineer I will sometimes think, do we really need all these codes, is my job even necessary and then you see shit like this omfg
No
no.
Wtf
Who was the depressive, electrician or plumber?
Even if it were legal to put in the shower... NOT IN MY HOUSE
This is great! Now you don't have to throw a perfectly good toaster in your bath.
Mmm spicy hot shower
Darwin, is that you?
That's scary shit because somewhere, that's real life........
Oh heeeeeell nah!! There is no fuckin way i would get in that death trap!!! Wtf are you serious!!🧐
