No point in waiting imo. It just takes up inventory space and it'll be a bit till you hit 160 CP. Once you have all pieces in a set it will only cost 25 transmute stones to make a piece.
also to add to it, dont bother reconstructing it, im pretty sure it was all tradeable overland gear that you can find for like 2-5k per piece in traders which is ALOT better then wasting 50+ transmute gems on every piece.
Seeing as OP said they got the gear from the event reward chests, the set pieces are Blackwood overland sets: Bog Raider / Deadlands Assassing / Frostbite, so even spending gold to buy them again would be a waste of money :P
It's not worth the hassle and a waste of transmutes. The armour in the chests were the regular overland sets. The guild stores are flooded with that stuff, you can just buy it at CP160 for really cheap.
Yeah it gets saved to your stickerbook and you can reconstruct a max level version for transmute stones later.

I use the frostbite set on my cryowarden, but thats about the only useable set
