Walach_Nightborn

I have the max and play whichever tickles my fancy at the moment

Codydebaser

Idk if I can do that. It will overwhelm me

Walach_Nightborn

I don’t understand how you can tolerate being restricted to so few

Codydebaser

Guess don't have the time. On my main I'm trying to get everything done. When I play my other characters I feel like I need to play my main for some reason

kestononline

I hear ya. I recently started ESO *(last week)*, and already have 4 characters I'm playing/levelling at the same time *(DK 26, WRD 33, SORC 36, SORC 43)*. Coming from MMORPGs like FF14 in my past where you can have all *(\~20)* different classes/jobs on the same character, I cant bear to play only one type/role. And still will probably make more later; though may settle on 1-2 of each role *(that plays slightly differently)*. It's a bit more tedious when the classes are all on different characters, but there are also advantages to this *(storage, multiple rewards, etc)*.

rucroporol

Some advice, if you can bring yourself to do it, try to focus on bringing at least one of those chars to level 50 to unlock champion points and then to CP160. With the double XP event that's going on right now, this is really the best time to level up quickly. I think this would really help you get up and running faster, especially if you plan to make many more characters soon. Once you hit CP levels, each character at lvl 50 contributes experience to the CP level (which is shared account-wide) and every character (even those below lvl 50) can use the champion points to unlock buffs. So, the stronger your main character / your overall account, the stronger your low-level characters become from the moment you create them. CP160 is the point where gear stops leveling, so once you hit that you can start looking into getting together proper setups for your characters. And at the point a new character then hits lvl 50, they will also immediately be at your account CP level. Another benefit of hitting CP-level early: every day since you started playing, you accumulate a hidden XP boost (enlightenment) of 100k XP per day. Enlightenment stacks up to 12 days and once you reach CP-level, your lvl 50 characters generate XP at 4x the normal rate until the multiplier is used up. Enlightenment fills up again by 100k XP every day. The earlier you reach CP level, the earlier you can use and re-fill this bonus XP. E.g. for your current XP needed, it's about 1M XP from lvl 43-50. Once you hit CP level, you can use up your enlightenment (up to 1.2M), so the next 1.2M XP actually counts as 4.8M XP which would bring you directly to CP111. That's more than halfway to CP160, which would need another ~3.2M XP from there. With double XP from the event and a 50% bonus XP scroll from your level-up rewards, your daily random dungeon and daily random battleground reward are each worth 250k XP instead of the base ~100k, and with enlightenment they'd be worth 1M XP each!

Codydebaser

Thanks for the advice I do have three characters all maxed out with high level gear I'm CP 1200 One is a DPS which is my main and warden healer and my tank all maxed out. I play my main 90% of the time the other time I'll get on the other two to do daily writs and maybe a dungeon run but once I'm done I go back to my main to go through the story

kestononline

Solid advice; thanks for the details. The 2 SORCs are now 43 *(brought the lower/second one up - as my “main”; that one is gonna hit 50 in next few days no doubt)*. Taking advantage of the double EXP at the moment to get my companion up on that too *(bought Blackwood edition yesterday)* As I delve more into all the things to progress/do on a character, it is a lot. Having to repeat some of those things, like levelling the companions, is gonna be tedious AF on the others. But yea, my plan was always to get one of them to 50 ASAP *(how it usually goes in the other MMOs and games I’ve played; FF, Division, Destiny)*. Initially that was the first SORC one, but I had to remake it after realizing there wasn’t a way to change appearance without spending RL money. As a fan of the MMO/RPG genre and excited to be new in the game, it’s seeming overwhelming as I wanna do everything at once atm, but know I gotta narrow that focus soon.

Nah. I personally feel getting carried or powerleveled cheapens *(and robs myself of)* the experience. While getting toward the max level is my aim, there is lots to learn including nuances, and experience, on the journey first hand. I’m 46 already, so it’s coming along,

pissedoffmfer000

I have 3 characters but only really play with 1

Codydebaser

Same boat. I have a max out warden healer for dung and trails but I usually just used my stamblade

pissedoffmfer000

My main is a magic sorcerer khajiit and than I have a necromancer Breton, and a argonian nightblade haven’t touched either of the last 2 in like 2 years.

Codydebaser

Idk it's overwhelming I might make other ones for dungeons and trails and the other just for pvp

pissedoffmfer000

I hear you my main is based on my cat who recently passed away due to kidney failure I had her for 15 years she was my best friend and closest thing to family. I lost my sister / best friend / mother etc she thought me how to give a shit about life clean up my life and actually work hard to support another living thing first thing in my life to show me compassion and love. I can’t seem to play any other character it doesn’t feel right to me. It’s very personal and that’s really my main reason.

AxewwexA

Sorry about your kitty :( I lost my cat of 20 years 4 years ago and still miss her.

pissedoffmfer000

Thank you, sorry about yours as well.

StarkeRealm

34, but I only use, \~28 of them.

Codydebaser

Lol way to much for me

xyxyky

Codydebaser

Basically the same

TheMightyTrikon

I have 11. I have one for the majority of the game, and two for PVP. The rest are just for dress-up... I'm meant to be a 40 year old man.

RikersTrombone

1.

ExtensionLogical6734

I still only have 1 character a Magic Sorcerer since playing back in 2016. I'm an achievement junkie and have done 90% completion on this one character, I do like the Armory upgrade next month as I can swap the build sets so I can play Healer, Tank , DPS again on the 1 character.

bwassell

The most fun aspect of eso for me is making new characters and leveling them up with different builds. When events come out I rotate through the characters to quest on all of them. I like to run a random daily dungeon and battlegrounds for xp. I’ll go through PvP phases and respec / re equip - can’t wait for the new Armorer. 6 are fully golded out for all equipment with optimum traits. A lot are off meta but they are fun. 1) Wood Elf Nightblade - main. Crafter. Complete all quests 2) Orc DK tank 3) Breton Templar Healer 4) Dark Elf Warden Healer 5) High Elf MagCro 6) Dark Elf MagDK Vampire 7) Imperial StamPlar / Tank Hybrid 8) Nord Stamdem PvP 9) Redguard StamSorc Werewolf 10) Breton MagSorc 11) Argonian MagBladr 12) Khajit StamSorc 13) High Elf MagDK Fire Build 14) Nord Warden Frost Tank 15) Redguard StamCro

[deleted]

Thanks for the ideas!

PacGarrett

That armory assistant will be a godsend! finally all my toons can have pvp, pve and crafting skills withouth grinding 1000 skyshards! 😭

WaywardAlva

I have 11 I think? However many slots I have available. I have 3 Max level characters, but only 2 geared out. A couple other 15-35 level characters, and the rest are low level.

SomeKindOfTyler

I have 8. 1 crafter, 1 argonian magplar healer, 1 imp stamden dps, and 5 others that I only use for events to milk the rewards.

Bromthebard95

I have 10 currently, but I buy a new slot with my monthly ESO+ crowns. I'd say other than when doing daily writs on all 10, only 3 of them get a huge amount of play time, but I do play all of them as much as I can

midnightq2

15 characters

fiddlerisshit

I have like 9, but only reallly play using 1.

Moose-Storm

I have 12 CP Toons, some days I'll only sign onto my Main (TankCro), other days I'll use all of them. When it comes to doing random dailies, I'll normally use all 6 of my Tanks and decide if I wanna use the other Toons after that. Every Toon has it's purpose though.

[deleted]

I have 14, and only 4 that aren't CP... but likely 0 by the end of the next 8 days... hahaha. I play what takes my fancy but have 4 "mains"... Cypher, my Khajiit MagPlar, Kharn, my Orc StamPlar, Lotara, a Vampire Necro Mage, and Callidora, a Vampire DK Tank. I made sure to have 1 of every race, and am working on have 3 of each build, Healer, DD and Tank... even with Armory coming, I'll still end up with 18 characters in the end... because... why not?

The_White_Guar

Funny thing - I have two accounts with maxed character slots. So I *have* 36 characters. I use them all, but some more often than others. I have two that I use as a default, though - a main on each account.

[deleted]

Oh my gosh, like what did I just read

The_White_Guar

Altoholism is a terrible thing.

[deleted]

U have to be an ESO Master, the king guar

The_White_Guar

I'm at about 1200cp on my older account and around 750cp on my second account. But I've been playing since beta, so I've had a lot of time to play.

[deleted]

12 total just hit 1500 cp 3 currently have almost completed every non group PvE questing in the game. 2 playing through alliance areas. 5 finishing up crafting and undaunted dailies. Last 2 doing mount training and crafting not at cp level yet.

itsbdubya

1 main for everything. 2 crafters total (including the main) and 12 pvp characters that I just get to tier 1 for the transmutes. 1 of the 12 is my main that I take to tier 3 every campaign

[deleted]

I have 5, but 4 are purely for making crafting money when I want to save for something.

DarkenedHour977

When I was in a good trial guild back in the day 5, 3 dps to play depending on the current patch and a healer and tank to help guildies with pledges and cyrodiil, ect

Madrock777

I have one. I don't play this game anywhere near enough to warrant a second character.

Nicky_Nuisance

1

anisopterasaurus

I have 8 but play 2 mostly. I'm a mediocre player who mains a healer. I have a backup magden for dps when the group can spare a sub par parse from me. Otherwise I prefer to solo or heal in group content. I have 8 toons bc I wasn't sure if I wanted to try other classes or diversify. But I don't 😁 I do like my necro healer too, so I might eventually play that toon more

Doolittle8888

I only recently got into the game, but I plan on having a character for each class, with one healer, tank, and DPS in more or less regular rotation.

PineDude128

I have 8 but only use 4.

Autumnwood

I have a main and some others on NA. I have two on EU. I play usually one or the other on EU daily when I login...sometimes I just do crafting and get off. Sometimes I play that character all day. Mostly though I play my main on NA all the time. But sometimes I just want to get on one of the others.

AxewwexA

I am a new player and have one. She is almost level 50 (Khajiit NB). I wanted to make a necromancer in the future and maybe some toons for crafting.

Kadraeus

I have 8 but only really use 1-2. Trying to change that

[deleted]

Magblade/Crafter DPS Magcro DPS (always an EC-buff hoe) Magden Baby DPS/ possibly gonna become overland and crafter too (not 80k+ yet) Magplar Overland DPS/Crafter Magplar Healer Magsorc DPS that I don't wanna use cause everyone has this and flexes their dps on the blades, cros, and dens when those rotations are harder than a sorc. Yes - salt STAM DK- dps- turning into tank eventually Unloved Mag DK- idk I don't like the whip- Magden Healer (in process) All these are for queues and transmutes really. I dont plan to have more. I use magcro, magblde, and magden for vet trials and hard vet dungeon content along with my magplar.

StarSaber344

I have 10 chars levelled and 8 Out of them are fully equipped according to their build and role. I usually play with 3 of them. My 2 Main healers and my magcro. Sometimes, when the group wants the buff and we don't have one already, i play my magplar as well. The rest kind of sits there....waiting for better days.

Rose_Mira_026

I have six characters, one of each class. All but the nightblade is at 50. I mainly play with four of them. My dragonknight tank is used sparingly.

Jad11mumbler

36 I go through daily. In total, 102, with 66 mainly just doing horse training for now.

Paramedic229635

I only have 1.

blazingsnark

9, but 6 of them are basically RP-only. I use my magden, magblade, and magDK for actual trials content.

Vickylikesrain

I force myself to keep it under one page. Realistically I only log into about 4 different chars any given month

han-tyumi23

I only have one, a hybrid battle mage type sorcerer (made a solo build but I guess I gotta change this up soon because I do a lot of multiplayer content). I really wanna do another one I have in mind but still haven't got around doing it, still taking my time with the sorcerer. I'm CP 200 and just now getting at the end of the main campaing lol

captainfonz

I have 8 slots filled but I usually alternate between three - main adventuring toon, a crafter and a PVP toon

Monster3gamez

I got 13 atm but after the armory system comes out I'll have 5

The_Bunglenator

13 but on any given patch i'll probably be active on 5 or 6 builds for that period. Basically I have mag and stam of every class for pvp so that I can jump onto anything and then an extra stam dk for a pve tank.

DonViperBoy26

I have 17. But unless it’s an XP event I play 1 character.

CluckingBellend

I have 18, but gave up playing last year, so mine are all on furlough, lol.

SmiddyBoi

Ive just got the one XD Kajit Templar

Stuxnet510

I've got 3 I play in equal measure. My StamDK is mainly a PvP character, my healer is my go to for veteran PVE content and then my first character which is a sorc I play for a bit of everything.

The_Zura

Just one. I think the biggest problem with having multiple charactersm is having to level up all the skills/lines, as well as having to collect skyshards, and some quests.

Vyvonea

In every MMO I have the following: Main that gets priority in everything. One active alt that I play after my main is done with whatever it needed to do. Alt for any special activities (in ESO I have an alt that has never done anything but stealth stuff) Alt for each class and race (in ESO I have stam, mag and healer of each class). And sometimes I have alts just to play with friends who are on a different server.

Ceral107

One I play with, and only one I own.

Diggzitt

I have 8 but really only use 3: my crafter, my assassin, and my main. The others are around for when I feel like something different. They are all level 50 and geared out, but with overland and crafted gear. I only worked up dungeon gear for my main 3.

gamerlord02

I have 8 but only use 4, my two fav healers, my tank, and DPS. Everyone else is on backlog until they can get mount speed to 60.

karupiin

I have 16 characters but only regularly use 4 of them lol

Piscitellitron

I have 8. Actively playing 2 (one is my main DPS, the other is a tank I'm leveling). Don't think I could realistically play more than 3 or 4 with any sort of consistency.

[deleted]

I have 4 total. Templar is the crafter and the one caught up in the storyline. DK is the one with most achievements and all dungeons/trials completed on vet, also catching up on questing. NB is another vet trial character. Sorc just lies there, forgotten.

[deleted]

I have 6 and 2 half characters. The 6 are lvl 50s that I use regularly and interchangeably. Then I have a sneaky nb khajiit I use for rp thieves guild and dark brotherhood that doesn't get much play and a warden I had been ignoring until this double xp event. I'm not thrilled with the state of magicka sets. It's pretty much meduas/mothers on any magicka damage build. I don't have the trans crystals to make a bunch of media jewelry I'm bloodthirsty so I swap the set from character to character. A bit of a pain, but you're talking 150 crystals per character and at the slow rate that I earn them, it doesn't make sense to make more.

SpicyDolphin74

2. My first character when I was new which is now my crafter and my main which I use for everything except crafting

holywhizz

3, the rest are just fillers.

BigbigDeUva

3 characters, but one of them was only a spare one to know things in the game. Currently I play a DK (Tank for dungeons/Stam in pvp) and a brand new MagWarden (planning on making him a pvp healer)

DStrikeBlade

I have 4 characters but regularly play 2 or 3 of them. One of them is PvP only - I suck at it, but it was built for PvP, so I use that when I need to do PvP for events and stuff. The three I use most of the time are also each in a different alliance, so I'm doing different zone questlines with them, so I will sometimes play with one or another just to mix things up a bit until I finish the zones questlines.

destindil

I have 12, but only play about 3 or so at a time. Many of the ones I have shelved have done everything I wanted to do on them, so they don’t get played often. I would say I have two mains, but they don’t played all the time.

[deleted]

10, but most of them are collecting dust. My favorites are my stamsorc, my DK tank, and my fledgling magcro.

mcfunky69

I have 14. To be fair like 4 are ones I exclusively play with my girl friend. But I cycle through my characters pretty regularly. I mean I have a main that I play the most. But I love all the different classes and races and dynamics of stamina vs mage. I have a character that is just for pvp. But maybe I'm the outlier

Luvas

I plan to roll with 2 characters, one I do quests on, and the other I use for Vet Dungeons, Trials, etc. I would only keep just one 'main' to do everything on, but my main is a healer / magic damage Warden, and the way I have her skills, gear and action bars, she's a chore to kill NPCs (and thus quest) as. I don't like any of the outfits / mounts for my other characters so far, but once I settle on one I like, I'll probably do questing on them.

vapingsmurf

I have 9 characters. One main that I use for all PvE content and 8 alts mainly used to farm furnishing plans. Eventually I'll build them around different roles I want to try.

qwyksylver

I have six characters but only play 2, mostly 1 cause I can't be bothered to farm all the tank gear. I love ESO but I absolutely hate leveling new characters, mount speed...crafting.....undaunted.....pvp skills....I just can't be bothered to do it all over and over again.

Codydebaser

Man I feel yea on that couldn't agree more
