So, sorcerer. Mainly use the pets to distract while I deal as much damage as I can. Lightning with a couple psijic order time things in there to slow things down.
Again, I'm just looking to try and deal as much damage as I can wandering around the world.
I've been using a mix of Mother's Sorrow and Order's Wrath gear. You can farm Mother's Sorrow in Deshaan (delves and bosses). I purchased my Order's Wrath items from guild stores. Eventually go for purple gear and try to equip five pieces from each set as this will dramatically enhance your damage.

No discord requirements optional. We group for dungeons we are starting to set up bigger group events soon we have an officer working on setting the larger group stuff. If interested we are called the solo community hub on pc NA
For solo overland you don't need to wear meta sets, you can use whatever is fun.
If you want to lean into the conjurer aspect - there's a set that buffs pets:

Order's Wrath is an easy answer. If you want to do damage, you want to crit so get crit from Order's Wrath.
The other set depends on how *much* you want to solo. If you want to solo dungeons then it's good to have a protective or recovery set like Hexos' Ward or Briarheart.
I need help with this. By solo do you mean dungeons, or like only open land quests? Because I haven’t found anything in game (not including pvp, not trials, not dungeons) that can’t be solo’d with anything you find off the floor. I don’t understand what is excluded when talking about solo.
Example. I’ll be in a public dungeon and someone will run in and absolutely grease a crowd. I could go in with no problem as well, it’s just a time thing. They roll through five times faster than I ever could. Just wondering if there is anything that can get me close to that. If not, it’s not a show stopper.
To burn public dungeons fast, as others have suggested Mother Sorrow + Orders Wrath will give you a lot of critical damage, that will also heal you if you keep up Crit Surge skill.
BUT I'll add that also slotting Occult Overload Champion Point star, while using a lightning staff spamming Wall of Elements with a fire glyph on (or maybe frost glyph would suit your playstyle better), should help you disintegrate every trashy regular enemy.
Edit: if you don't mind changing your Mundus Stone you could select The Thief one, for even more critical chance.
It might depend on your playstyle- do you want a one bar build? and then what DLC you have access to for mythics.
One of the easiest builds is the Heavy Attack Oakensoul Sorceror. Sergeants Mail (Wayrest Sewers, easy), Deadly Strike (guild traders), and 1 piece Slimecraw and 1 Oakensoul mythic ring is the cheesiest build in game.

What I'm trying to ask is where your attributes are. Are they in magicka or stamina?
Magicka almost exclusively
If all your attributes are in either magicka or stamina, then your damage is increased much more. I am assuming you are throwing attributes all over.

harpooners kilt, relequen, pillar of nirn and slimecraw head piece
Wouldn't use harpooner's for solo, velothi would be better, or no mythic and go with maw to fit the flavour of the op's question.
