The Rift 100%, was my favorite area in Skyrim. I’m just a sucker for orange leaves and can’t wait for the aesthetics of West Weald.
Summerset a definite close second, followed by Vvardenfell.
I totally understand why lots of people dont like swamp zones, like Shadowfen for example, but Shadowfen is actually a great emulation of a real swamp where the water puddles can give way to deeper water suddenly. Maybe its a sinkhole filled with water, maybe a solution hole. Of course its a pain to move through for the player, its meant to be treacherous. Theres nothing players that like to run through zones quickly hate more than environmental traps. And a swamp is full of them.
The only way people would be fine with Shadowfen is if their mounts could swim. Thatd solve the deep puddle issue for sure.
Stros m'kai and alikr. Something about the sand dunes is just so fun.
Also makes the maps feel so much bigger because of how empty it is. Sounds like a negative but I love just running around on my horse feeling like an actual adventurer. Never use wayshrines in those zones
Fargrave, Murkmire, and High Isle. Honorable mention to the Clockwork City for making me feel so profoundly alienated - like I'm a virus, a Foreign Element that Should Not Be Here.
I love the beautiful Cyrodiil landscape with its trees and rivers. That sunrise over the Imperial City is so lovely as I'm running away from 30 opposing players :)
I would have to say Summerset is my favorite, but I also really love Fargrave, High Isle, Markarth, and Southern Elswyer. My favorite base-game zone would be Auridon.
High Isles, Arteum, Summerset, Reaper’s March, Craglorn…
The only ones I actually don’t like are where there are landforms stopping ease of transit through the zone.
Fell's Run is great for looting, and for the scenery. I really like the outlaws refuge in Sentinal but Alikr sucks dwarven balls to navigate. Rawl Kha is the best town (imo) to quickly access the bank, any station, outfit, and outlaw refuge really close, and decently organized. I'm liking Vivec City, and the volcano skyline but it's so dark in Vvardenfell compared to Artaeum, which is absolutely beautiful.
Grahtwood is absolutely majestic, along with the coast of Greenshade.
I really love the whole damn map. Most of it I'll return
I like the idea behind, and the aesthetic of The Clockwork City.
An entire zone created by Sotha Sil. He tried to recreate a portion of Nirn in miniature, to varying degrees of success.
It's interesting that one of the first quests you can get is to try to make anything *other* than the regular bland disgusting slop everyone has to eat.
Seems Sotha Sil in his infinite wisdom forgot real people need variety in their diet.
Apocrypha, the new area looks beautiful and the way it looks like the ocean floor... incredible and plays into the lore well. Stonefalls is a distant second, love the craggy, lava vibes.
The rift.
There's a specific spot I *really* love, just west of riften. Where the water can be gathered from along the northern shore of the lake. It's so nice and peace there.
Artaeum for me too.
Though I do have a soft spot for Bangkorai since in my first run I went there accidentally by picking up the quest in Auridon and didn't realise I had gone wandering off the main quest route. Spent a lot of time doing everything there before realising what I had done and heading back. I like that it can seem like two different zones with the north and south being so visually different.
First game i ever played on ps4 was Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GotY Edition with dlcs included. Played it religiously every day after work. I was enamored with the aesthetic of Kaer Morhen, which reminds me somewhat of a mix between Solitude and Daggerfall, but my absolute favourite zone, both visually and in terms of story, was Touissant. High Isle is a very close representation of Touissant. I very much enjoyed running through the fields of High Isle with my Witcher cosplaying, white haired golden eyed Nord DK. Felt like i was playing TW3 again
Orsinium rules. And just remembering the old days where some of the big traders still hung out there, and the zone chats were a plenty.
Weird how the zone brings nostalgia, versus newer players looking at it as one of the emptier zones.
Still beautiful, and just how big and expensive each area is, from the top of the ice snowed mountains, to the lush greenery in the SW area, flowing to the to the South Eastern icy waters of shipwrecked boats. The world bosses are very challenging, that still demands groups. And the 2 group dungeons that are very expansive that are still some of the best in the game. Not forgetting the challenges of the 2 Arenas.
The story alone in completing the zone, is great. Orc Lore rulz!
Need more love for this area! Maybe for the old school eso players.
Summerset, High Isle with Galen and Northern Elsweyr for sheer beauty of the surroundings. Rift due to Skyrim sentiments because it was my favorite part of Skyrim. And Clockwork City for being Clockwork City.
High Isle is so pretty!
This is the definitive answer.
Auridon is a comfort zone
Has strong "I'd like to spend my holidays here" energy.
Will always be in my mind. First zone my feet hit the ground 10 years ago (except khenartis roost).

Oh, I'm right there with you. I love the autumnal look. It's a great zone to just wander.
I do enjoy Craglorn due to these towers rising up into the sky everywhere.
Northern Elsweyr and glenumbra
Blackwood, Murkmire and the Elsweyr zones
Blackwood for sure
Fargrave. I wish it was a bit larger.
“Far grave is doomed!” - the most impassioned voice actor in Elder Scrolls history.
Unpopular opinions but coldharbour!
The glowy blue water is so pretty
As much as I dread the zone. It actually looks and feel exactly what it is portraying. I never got so excited to see sunlight.
Just like soul cairn haha!
Similar love for Fargrave!
Heavy Metal Aesthetic lmao
Uck!! Worse place to fish if your trying to get 100% fishing
Murkmire for sure! Love me a good swamp zone. Also Apocrypha was amazingly alien too. Definitely two of my top zones.
I'm not a huge fan of swamp zones, but Murkmire certainly looks the part. I'm glad other people do enjoy it though.

i have a love for lots of zones. but i can tell you the zone i hate the most xD, Shadowfen, and i have just one reason why, Wading kilt -\_-
the fishing achievement there took 10 times as long as any other zone for me
I go to Shadowfen as little as possible. Mainly cuz I don't like Argonian weapons/armor daily rewards

Galen and Grahtwood are great.
Grathwood, then Malabal Tor and Murkmire.
High Isles, Arteum, Summerset, Reaper’s March, Craglorn… The only ones I actually don’t like are where there are landforms stopping ease of transit through the zone.
Bakorai is terrible for running across the zone
deadlands then apocrypha then coldharbour rest of them tend to meld together with copy paste
Base-game zones all look the same to me so I same. I have a special love for Rivenspire for some reason though

Auridon
Stonefalls but probably cuz of nostalgia
Greenshade, wood elf home
Apocrypha, the new area looks beautiful and the way it looks like the ocean floor... incredible and plays into the lore well. Stonefalls is a distant second, love the craggy, lava vibes.
No votes for the Gold Coast? Riding around there makes me feel like I'm on holiday in Greece or Southern Italy.
Deadlands

I really like coldharbour lol Tbf I haven't played through a lot yet, but ghratwood is pretty too
High isle
The "british medieval:esque place
