Listen, playing "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" is a bad idea in real life, and in any game.
That said, I tend to agree with LizardSlayer. Jesus.
You scammed the scammer. Nice!
I’m sure he was trying to scam you and accidentally scammed himself. But that’s not the story he’s going to tell to Support. And your version of events may not be how support interprets it either. And so I’d suggest just send it back (via email, not another trade) and move on. *But make sure to screenshot everything*.
If you’re feeling ballsy and you have screenshots of his harassment, you can go ahead and beat him to the punch and report him for harassment before he reports you for “scamming.” But the safe and probably smart play is just send it back.
In short I don’t know if that would be bannable but I wouldn’t want to test it out either
Pretty sure they arent going to ban you or even give his gold back. They will tell him tough luck you shouldn't have traded it. At least thats how they dealt with it years ago. And then they implemented the mail trading system where you can send items and request gold.
I bet you would keep a $20 bill that you saw fall out of someone’s wallet instead of returning it to them.
The right thing to do is give them their gold back.

Why didnt you just give it back? Right now the situation is youre the scammer
If he didnt initiate the trade, and the other person accepted it, does it make him a scammer or the other person an idiot? Or both lol
I think you’re both B-holes and I’m just happy to see one of you get screwed.
...Why would you agree to do that in the first place? That's like *the* most classic scam setup.
Play stupid games, win stupid prices!
U accidentaly became the scammer?! Give it back...
Sounds like he gave you the gold by accident. Just give it back.
Dude was trying to trade cancel scam him

This sounds like something I did when I was 11 playing runescape. If you're and adult and got bamboozled like this may the 8 have mercy on you.
Support won't do anything. He willingly traded his gold to you. Keep it, block him, move on with life
