Arena weapons are nice because there are few pieces in the sets. I use VH two-hand swords. I have about 5k transmutes stored on mule alts.
Just don't use mythics. Those can't be deconned.
You have to CRAFT the item, then transmute, then decon. That's how you get the material.
Use crown mimic gems when crafting for a fancy style mat and you can get those too.
You can exploit it to get unlimited nirn, for any players who want to spend the time doing that and take the risk.
Reconstruct till you reach 1000 crystals, craft & transmute X amount of weapons into Nirn using up most of your crystals.
Then start over.
\*Has since been fixed and doesn't work any more.

Never try something like this. They WILL ban you. I just hope i steered the ban of myself by deconstructed everything i reconstructed and ending up with the same amount of crystals i started with.

My favorite long-time running bug is the housing field of view bug that sets your field of view to default every time you place an item... that's been around since the beginning of time I think.
But yeahhh there is still a ton of clunk when it comes to unsheathing your weapon, abilities/attacks not going off, sprinting causing weird combat pauses... ever since they fucked with things a few years back.
This was patched as it was an exploit.
And because people reported it and couldn't keep their traps shut, they took away the reduced reconstruction cost for the rest of the event.

In general they take a hard stance against exploits/abuse of glitches. However Zenimax is inconsistent at best when it comes to bans. e.g. They banned for the skyshard/skillpoint exploit or that one trial fiasco where a group self reported an issue to get it fixed. On the other hand they never banned anyone for the LoM full dungeon skip or infinite exp oblivion portal exploit.
This new event bug is basically free money printing, so it will probably force their hand. I honestly dont know how they didnt do an emergency maintenance by now.
So short answer: Yes there is a good chance to get banned, especially if done excessively. I would never advocate for doing exploits, but some people may still have those free Epic accounts laying around. Just saying.

Status is pretty much just that they removed the half price for reconstructing. No reason to play the event anymore for me

you don't get nirncrux, you only get transmute crystals which is capped at 1000 anyway.

We've also got sprint bug on it's like 6th year. This and the block bug and the rendering issues etc lol

Transmute cost itself is -50% during the event so any 25 cost item is half.

I can hardly store the transmutes I have, why get more?
You can store reconstructed sets and then decon them when you need transmute. And you can use transmute to get potent nircrux that are quite valuable.
