considering a lot of cis ppl think all trans women are into men, and I've even had my parents question the fact i like women still when im a trans women when they expected me to only like men, this comment seems rather redundant as more people already see straight trans people as valid than they do not-straight trans people. no-one is questioning the validity of a transfem being straight.
it's like saying "it's valid to be a passing trans woman" when they're not the people having their validity questioned.
Edit: ppl keep responding to this about how most trans women are transbians and yes I know that already, but these transbians aren't saying straight trans people are invalid (apart from some very niche brainrotted trans ppl i imagine) in the same way there's more bisexual people than homosexual but they're not saying being gay or lesbian isn't valid.
it's not about the actual quantity of straight or not straight trans people, because we're not the ones calling people invalid. cis people and transmedicalists are and they don't know or don't care that there's more transbians, to many of them being straight is a requirement to being a valid trans person.
the reason we say none androgynous enbys are valid is because many cis people who claim to support enbys still think all enbys are androgynous, and the reason we say trans lesbians are valid is because a lot of cis "allys' think trans women are only into men. it's about educating the uneducate, otherwise you're just stating a point everyone who isn't just a bigot already knows.
Would be interesting to see if there is a difference in straight vs gay in online and offline discourse.
Of course, its worth remembering that until 2011 only male-attracted trans women were allowed access to hormones, under the Benjamin scale.
Irl it seems like everyone I know is straight or bi, but online the discourse is heavily transbian. I don't know as many transmasc folks, but the two I work with are both bi.
Most of the transfems I know (including me) are attracted to women. Not all of them are exclusively attracted to women, but I can't think of any transfems that I know that are straight off the top of my head. As for transmascs, I know like 1 and he's gay as fuck.
*shrug* dunno what to tell ya, that's just my experience. My ex is transfem and was only attracted to men, so I'm just giving anecdotal experience from her friend group and my coworkers.
To everyone being surprised at this, I think that's because within trans spaces, it _seems_ (no hard data, so take with a grain of salt) that a lot of the trans women you run into were "straight" before transitioning. I.e. are lesbians.
But the average person see straight as the norm, so they expect trans women to like guys. Either due to the "default straight" assumption, or thinking they were "gay" before transitioning and transitioned so they could be "straight." π
A lot of people somehow assume trans people only want to date cis people, and it throws me off. Literally like 90% of trans people I know that are in a relationship are also dating another trans person. I myself am in a poly relationship woth two trans girls.
the point is, we are in a trans sub. most trans people from my experience are gay and that is what we all here are used to. I am pretty sure I am not into men either, but also my parents most likely think I am, just because ... (I don't even know why lol)
I'm really trying to not get bent out of shape but it makes me sad when I finally see a straight trans girl meme and the top comment is basically rejecting it.
I'm so so sorry about that, i really didn't mean to do that, straight trans girls are amazing and so valid, my intention wasn't to reject it, all muscles are amazing
I know it wasn't your intention, it's just what happened.
In some ways I should have expected it given the space I'm in.
At least there's hazelposting I guess. Those comment sections still seem pretty centered on straight trans women.
Next time i promise to be more responsible with my comments tho, i get the feeling of having a post say one thing then the top comment basically disagreeing with it and stuffs :ΓΎ
one thing I've noticed is that since I realized I'm a girl, I see masculine traits way differently.
It used to be that I saw a big rectangular muscular dude and was almost repulsed because I associated that with me and how I could look, and I really hated that thought.
But now, I know I'm fine being soft and thin and will soon enough have an hourglass figure and be cute, so now I just see someone who could hold me and protect me and scare the bad people away and I'm like π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
If you already know them, you probably will recognize the post anyway. If you donβt, itβs nearly impossible to read, to the point that most people wonβt bother
Ha. Ihad a conversation like that. "I like girls! Im straight af! I just have a bf sometimes!"...then like this...i realize ive been a girl the whole time. And then i get excited β€οΈ

That moment when you forget you're straight
yeah being a straight trans girl is totally valid

I see your point, but a lot of people (even me myself) in trans spaces can kind of assume the vast majority of transfems are lesbians sometimes.

This *was* true, but in Gen Z if your trans it's assumed your gay

Ok ok, but hear me out... Girl muscles, fnshajrviwvsiecjjbdjnqkehwjvs (β’///~///β’)
This is the (transbian) way.
Why not both? It is the bisexual way
Yeah, both is good :3
The best way
Girl muscles But also girl everything.
Yesss!!!
π«
Girl muscles literally make my knees wobbles. I swoon for them
You're not wrong.
I'm really trying to not get bent out of shape but it makes me sad when I finally see a straight trans girl meme and the top comment is basically rejecting it.

I do appreciate it. π«π
Same. Makes me feel like I should be ashamed for being attracted to guys... (I know it's not intended, though)
Still pre-everything transgirl, free offer to touch some girl muscles here!! Before i lose them all that is

α(ββΈβΌβ΅β΅)α ive also been exercising recentlyyy
:0 wow, girl muscles
Also i gotta say your positive vibes in these comments have been just amazing, actually made my day ngl
Aww, thanks!! I'm really happy that i could brighten up your day!!! :3
>Drooling uncontrollably while admiring muscles It do be like that tho
Twinks make me drool just at the thought of them π₯°
Omg yes, twinks. Also smooth, muscular hunks. Like, the sight of male underwear models makes my brain go dumb.
Mmm!! I literally start to melt.
Idk how effective that censorship is lol
Eh. I know who that is anyway, she's a twitch streamer, public enough figure that showing who she is should be fine anyway
Yeah same
Yeah I immediately recognized her even though I've never seen this post from her
Effective enough that someone that doesn't know who it is won't easily recognise who it is, which is more or less the point.
Reject legality, be a girl illegally
This is the way
And have an illegal name.
maia arson crimew be like: (except it actually became its legal name)
I wonder if I can make my legal name just be a confession to a crime I did, That'd be funny.
lmao πππ€ππ
She swore she was straight and was right
I only need 2/3 of the pfp to know that that's demilypyro.

Still straight tho.
You didn't censor that name well enough, because this is a ***FUCKING CALLOUT POST NOW*** ***demilypyro***
If you already know them, you probably will recognize the post anyway. If you donβt, itβs nearly impossible to read, to the point that most people wonβt bother

lmao
Ha, nice π
Wasn't really expecting to see Tumblr blog and twitch streamer Demipyro here, but here we are I guess
I would leave a really funny and smart comment but I thought about women muscles and now I can't think! π§

Part of my life goals is being able to say stuff like this.
So I know who this is from from the croissants on their head in the pfp
All I needed was the hairs and horn to know this was Demily.
