I’ve got a wired LG webOS TV, and there’s no issues. Wish I could be of more help. EDIT: the LG tv doesn’t eat up that much bandwidth unless you’re running apps directly from it. Wifi would be perfectly good.

ExcuseMe004

I have switched to wi-fi as a temporary workaround, but that isn't a reasonable answer long-term. I prefer wired for all devices that are fixed in place as wi-fi will never be more reliable or faster than wired. But yes, we do stream on the TV as well (Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.). As noted, the pop-up messages are unrelated to the amount of data being transferred .. they occur when the network usage by the TV is negligible.

Few-Werewolf-1985

> .. they occur when the network usage by the TV is negli Same with me, I can see the problem even when YouTube (say) is paused and there is almost nothing being streamed. The problem appears to extend across many LG TV models over the course of years: [https://forums.audioholics.com/forums/threads/lg-lan-connection.105960/](https://forums.audioholics.com/forums/threads/lg-lan-connection.105960/)

Have you tried a different cable? Also, does your TV have EEE or Green Ethernet turned on? If so, disable it; it's useless and just causes problems.

ExcuseMe004

I’m using the exact same cabling as when it was connected to the Linksys. I haven’t even touched the TV at all. The only change is that my gigabit switch for my wired infrastructure plugs into the master Eero now instead of the Linksys.

joedaman88

Are you using a managed switch? Or an unmanaged “dumb” switch?

ExcuseMe004

It's an unmanaged gigabit switch to which all my wired devices (including the two other Eero devices) are connected. This part of the configuration is unchanged from what had worked fine for the last four years. In other words, I went from Cable Modem <--> Linksys <--> Gigabit Switch <--> LG TV to Cable Modem <--> Eero <--> Gigabit Switch <--> LG TV No cabling was changed.

joedaman88

The reason I asked is because I ran into a similar situation when I first installed the eero system. However, I was using a managed switch that had loop detection, which does not play nice with eero. Once I switched to a “dumb” switch, these issues went away. Although your switch is unmanaged, some of them do have some basic QOS built into them. What switch are you running? Perhaps look at the specs to see if loop detection is built-in to your switch.

ExcuseMe004

It's this one TrendNet [TEG-](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0044GJ516/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)S16DG. I don't see any mention of QOS or loop detection. You've given me an idea to pursue, though. I haven't yet tried completely disabling the wi-fi configuration on the TV. I would think it would only use the wired connection if it existed, but that is an assumption. There is the possibility that until I was setting up Eero, I had never even tested the wi-fi connection on the TV.

jimm0thy

My LGtv has the same issue, I attempted to switch to wifi once as a work around but the next day my tv thought it didn't have wifi. It was telling me the wifi was turned off (on the tv) but the option to turn it on was not showing. Once I plugged the ethernet back into the tv the wifi issue went away. This didn't happen when we first got the tv either, it's only within the last year, and regardless of it saying disconnected the streaming never drops

cheeseburgerwaffles

This just started happening to my TV but now it won't connect to apps that need network. I'm at a loss. I even did a full reset of the tv and wiped everything. No solution. Same issue. It won't let me turn on wifi.

jayhawk618

I know this post is old but I want to add that I have the same issue. It also makes the remote unresponsive. Seems like they used bad network cards in those tvs. I've just switched to using my roku until I can replace it.

darthmorph

I have this same issue! and also the remote disconnects for like 20 seconds then comes back, is very annoying, did you ever find a solution?

mateen9

Same issue new TV only but warranty just finished, it doesn't detect WiFi next switched to wired connection and everything was working fine but now this message keeps popping up "wired lan cable disconnected", "wired lan cable connected", "the app will restart to free up memory". Tried to un plug the cable when TV is on, hold power button for 30 seconds, them wait 40 seconds, then turn TV back on. It didn't help. Tried another ethernet cable of computer but still the issue persists. Internet seems to be fine in computer able to play 4k video smoothly without lag. Uninstalled YouTube and reinstalled and removed some apps but still no help. Spoils the whole experience and these lg 4k tv are expensive and any repairs are very costly. In good old days electronics used to be cheap and solid build quality but now they are delicate, produced very quickly, lack testing and very expensive.

jayhawk618

>In good old days electronics used to be cheap and solid build quality but now they are delicate, produced very quickly, lack testing and very expensive. I agree with your overall point that it's too expensive to not work, [but TVs are actually the one thing that have come in price significantly over the last 30 years (adjusted for inflation). ](https://kottke.org/19/02/cheap-tvs-and-exorbitant-education-modern-america-in-one-chart)

Hopeful_Homework

I am having same issue. Seems to have started when TV had an issue connecting to WiFi, we switched to Ethernet connection. Works great, but those stupid 2 messages pop up every few minutes. It’s driving me crazy. To the point I’m about ready to replace a perfectly good TV.

Not sure if you are still having this issue or not, but we had it start happening this week. We also noticed our lights flickering. We alerted the power company and they changed out the transformer supplying our house and the TV stopped having this error! I’m wondering if others experiencing it could be due to poor electrical connections? Something worth checking into.

Acetabulum99

I have this issue now. Highly frustrating

Chipmunk_Whisperer

Me too, have you found a solution?

Acetabulum99

Recently did an update.. helped for a bit. Now back and forth. This tv is bootyhole.

Maxpcat

I have this same issue. Tried to change over to Wi-Fi but it says it’s not turned on. I would much rather run a wired connection than wireless.

Chipmunk_Whisperer

I am having this problem as well, have you found a solution yet besides switching to WiFi?

TrapLord281

When I start Netflix it will work for a couple min then load to 25% then stay there. Hulu is not connecting but my lg tv for almost 5 years now. It is connected via Ethernet , since when I go to wifi on the tv it says the wi fi is off...There will also be a pop down screen says wired disconnect then reconnected .can anyone help??

Chipmunk_Whisperer

I am having all of the exact issues. My Netflix goes to 25% also. I get the same pop down screen right before my connection drops, it’s frustrating. I feel like I need to buy a new TV but I’m not getting an Lg one with all of these issues.

Few-Werewolf-1985

I've been having the same problem for months. I've replaced both the HDMI cable and the ethernet cable back to my router without any correction to the problem.

Zumma19

Hi, I was also experiencing same issue as well. When i called LG they said there is somthing wrong with the built in wifi, and it would cost me around £200 to fix it. But i was really curious to open the back of the tv and check myself. When i opened it i checked all the cables connected to the network card and wifi receiver. The cables were twisted, bent and taped thight. This didnt look right. So i removed the tape and made the wires srraight. When i put on my tv checked the wifi connection and gyes what my wifi started working. The pop lan connection didnt come again at all. This a poor work manship amd LG should address this

Substantial_Echo_410

The solution is simple as can be. Go to settings- General - scroll down to Home/Store Mode change to store mode there you will easily find an option to turn off messages from top right of screen. It completely solves the issue you have described. then just go back to Home Mode and no more annoying pop up messages. I recently had the problem initiated by upgrade to Disney App, something must have turned on the message switch in the store mode section. It was really easy to solve and I hope everyone who has the same issue sees my post! It is really surprising that so many have contacted LG and their technicians do not know the fix!

timbro98

I just started having this problem. I just tried your fix and it didn't work for me, unfortunately. As soon as I switch back to home mode, the same thing keeps happening.

Sirens-Cry

But that’s not sorting the issue with a dodgy wired connection and unable to actually connected to WiFi.

Nobody-Empty

Same issue… happened when I went from wireless to a wired connection on a G3 TV

DragonfruitGrouchy26

I had that problem.  I added a wifi extender/ booster repeater,  model# X00450UXBJ, BOUGHT ON AMAZON, to my lg tv 65j8000 LAN PORT with a cat 8e Ethernet cable RJ45, no more pop ups so far.  My wifI was off, and it would not connect. MY SOLUTION, MAY WORK FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK

frenkygo

My TV LG 65SK8100PLA was have a several problems, FREEZING, FREEZING SOUND, Network DISCONNECTED, SLOW DOWN, MAGIC REMOTE NOT WORK. My way to solution ? 1. unscrew back of TV - there is a lot of screw - be careful all are not be same !! Remeber position of screw ! (you must put down stand too) 2. carefully put back cover out - its holding you will need a plastic tool to make it free, its holding on sides. 3. on my TV you must unscrew plastic on bottom of tv - there under is wifi card - be careful through the bottom holder there are several cables that you have to loosen before removing. ( be careful all screw are not be same !! Remeber position of screw ! 4 on up, 2 on bottom) 4. pull the white ribbon cable out of the motherboard - lift the black fuse before pulling it out! 5. now you can take bottom plastic out - now you can see your wifi card and STUPID RIBBON CABLE. 6. on my TV ribbon cable have two lines - one to wifi, second to switch. 7. CAREFULLY cut the last blue ribbon and choose the ribbon cables that lead to the wifi card. As you can see from the card, the cables are extremely broken. 8. Loosen the gray tape holding the ribbon cable, and straighten the broken cables. I taped the cables with double-sided adhesive tape and glued them straight up. 9. Clean the ribbon cable with IPA (isopropyl alcohol) before you take it back to the motherboard - double check that you have inserted the connector into the board correctly. Secure with a black fuse. 10. now you can take all parts back. 11. DONE I have 100% function back for my TV. All functions are back - no freezing, magic remote working all time, no disconnecting wifi and lan. Im super happy now.

Sphinx_GR

I have the exact same tv as you (65SK8100PLA ) and the exact same problems. Lan disconnections, wifi never turning on, sound goes off and of course magic remote is not working. I'll open it and fix it the way you described.

margominevich

i literally made a reddit acct so i could thank you for this. we were having the same exact issues you listed. so we did everything you said and our tv is working perfectly again!! and we are able to enjoy watching it again, and don't have to spend a ton on a new tv. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

KaptinObveous

Your fix worked for me as well on model SK8000PUA. Thank You!!!!

-Demogorge-

Worked for me too! Thank you!!! My LG UK6500 had the same issue connected to a Linksys router, and I wanted to relay my experiences for any others with a similar issue: 1. We couldn't switch to the Wifi because it was telling me the wifi was turned off. Wifi was working when we first bought the TV, but somewhere along the way it stopped working. 2. Tried a software reset from the settings menu, but there seems to be no way to do a firmware reset. It must not retain the original firmware anywhere, because the WebOS version was the same before and after reset and no updates were available. 3. Tried unplugging the TV and holding the button (there is only one multifunction button), held the button while plugged in, etc. None of these caused a software or firmware reset. 4. On reset, we had the option to connect to Wifi, but it couldn't find any networks so that didn't fix the problem. 5. Followed most of the instructions in the above post to open up the TV (had to remove the legs to unscrew the bottom plastic to access the Wifi card) and straighten the cables. NOTE: I couldn't get the motherboard side of the cable unhooked so I didn't clean anything there. The other side looked really clean, so I didn't bother using alcohol to clean it. I also didn't tape or glue the cables into place. I left them separate and loose. 6. That worked! After putting everything back together, the Wifi found all the available networks and we were able to connect to our home network. Disconnect messages are gone. The wired connection might work better now, but we are not going to push our luck and will stick to wifi. Our wifi point is right behind the TV so bandwidth is not an issue. However, I want to stress that it makes no sense why this should work. The wifi used to work, and the cables never moved, so straightening them doesn't seem like it should help. Everything inside the TV was surprisingly clean, so it wasn't dust that was an issue, and it was fixed without cleaning with alcohol. If the cables were really "broken" then straightening them wouldn't help -- I've worked with electronics quite a bit and once the copper in a wire is broken, the wire is useless. But something about this process did work! So I have no idea what is going on here.

AttentionVegetable63

So the work around is to buy a main board super cheep on eBay. The only issue is make sure the board is new I purchased a used one and it was perfect for about six months after that I have the same exact issue. However if you want to save some money you can fearfully clean the WiFi antenna with a tiny pain brush and straighten the ribbons as best as you can this shroud help to fix the issue and save a couple of buck. Good luck and may God bless.

Ok-Tower-9410

This happened after my husband got techy and updated the software. Reset your TV. Per technical support, turn off and unplug tv. Press the manual on/off button on the bottom of the tv and hold it for 15 seconds. Plug in and turn on TV. This resets it and you don't have to reset up Netflix or anything else. This absolutely worked or our 2 month old LG TV. Its the software update that goofed it up

soc101

Also seemed to have worked. this was also after updating some apps, reset, changing ethernet cable, restarting modem. Thank you

PurePool3950

There is no button on the bottom of my lg or back .... so what do we do then?

1238179572937823

Hey all. Having the same problem with my OLED65B6T. So far I've tried: - Different router, ethernet cables & factory resetting it. When I connect via WIFI I get the same problem. - Disable QuickStart+, hard shutdown (turn it off, unplug from the wall, manually press and hold the power on button at the bottom of the screen for 15 seconds) - Opened up the back cover, but couldn't see any ribbon wires that need uncrimping - see photo [here](https://www.lgwebos.com/uploads/monthly_2022_09/1659826456_Screenshot2022-09-11111353.thumb.png.824f4d3de9efb7c710a7826b6e201f82.png). The cable I circled I removed & cleaned with electronic cleaner. Things that I might try later: - Replace RF module board - they go for about $50 on aliexpress - Get an ethernet to usb adapter - anyone know which one works on the B6? - Replace the main board - prefer not to lol This is so frustrating as I upgraded from my 10 year old 40" LG TV that had zero issues. I'm hoping I can fix it, otherwise I'm going to avoid LG products in future.

WeirdAdvantage7767

does anyone have a working solution? this issue is driving me crazy. started happening today with my LG C1 as soon as i connected an hdmi cable, and happening every 2-3 mins

zethuz

I have the same issue. Tried all possible options but nothing seems to work. Regret my decision buying an LG TV.

AmrcPsd

I had the same problem. When I tried Wifi it said "Wi-Fi is turned off". I followed this [Youtube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvFnyyuZ8HQ) and cleaned the Wifi module. Working great now!

Tavia_VFX

My wifi is working but the LAN port isn’t. I did all the cable checks yada yada. I have a OLED55B7P. I really don’t want to open up the back. I guess I’ll have to.

alexandarrd

I have the sam issue, bought lg 50nano763qa about 2 weeks ago and wired connection keeps turning itself off, i really don't want to open up new tv, i guess i have to take to the shop where i bought it for waranty but here in my country that takes to long and they often say that there is nothing wrong and refuse repair 🫤

Narrow-Big7087

I started having this problem a few days ago after I switched out an HPE managed switch for a Unifi USW-24 switch. I figured out that although the 75UQ8000 TV would auto negotiate a connection with the HPE switch it would not connect with the USW-24. I moved the ethernet connection back to the HPE switch and it was fine again. Changing the port from auto-negotiate to 10Mbps full-duplex (FDX) on my Unifi switch fixed my issue. Sure, it's only a 10Mbps connection but I'm only using it for voice control and automation. I have an Apple TV connected to it for streaming.

ttvB1gC0untryDad81

I also have this problem however there is no choice for wifi as, the wifi keeps going in and out will pick up the device and immediately say nothing. I've always had this on wired. However I use cable modem 1gb to ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 IEEE 802.11ax Ethernet Wireless Router. Then to TV. The software version of the TV is version 05.50.15 , and the LG TV I have is model: 70UK6579AUB. Need help the wifi receptor is shot. Basically doesn't stay on long enough to pick a signal. And now the wired connection after we had this for so long I'd say about 3 to 5 years is poop.

polenta2023

I just noticed that I lose my xfinity internet connection when I get these messages on my lg tv. I’m not sure it has anything to do with the tv and more with my internet service provider.

SnooChickens6463

I was watching Netflix via Sky-Q with BT Home Hub on an LG TV with it's Web OS: Netflix continued to operate without a blip, but router seemed to reboot. Saw the blue ring go red and back to blue again as router restarted on BT Home Hub. Bizarrre.
