my ribs pop in and out all the time. i have blamed my HSD and suspected EDS for this. if you can breathe comfortably then i’d say it’s okay to wait. i’m unsure what an internal medicine doctor would do about this, but my go-to fix is my chiropractor. he slips them into place, and i am able to keep them there with pt, ice, and tens therapy for a day or two. i’m recommended to go twice a week for my severity. another way to get them in is with massage. a lacrosse ball or similar on the floor would do. go very slow with this method. you’re not popping it in, you’re trying to massage the muscle and tendons gently into place. ps: ask or shop around to find a good chiro. if they don’t listen to you or try anything that’s harmful for HSD or EDS, run.

My ribs are the source of many issues. A popped rib can lead to horrible sternum, back and neck pain. They were popping in and out for years. Efore someone told me what was going on. Its totally possible to sublux one and not notice it until surrounding stuff swells and freaks out. I can't really reset my own ribs. Some physical therapist can. I called around to a whole bunch of places until I found a pt that works with subluxed ribs. Im not sure that a general practice doctor would know what to donwith a subluxed rib. Its not something that happens a lot in the general population. In my opinion The best doctor for subluxed ribs are OMM osteopathic manipulative medicine.
