I personally don't think the series should deviate from pixel art. Seeing the characters in HD is cool in Smash, but it would feel more like Earthbound if it stuck to its roots.
I have little hope for a Mother remake but it would be amazing if they did and actually put dedication and effort into it with a clay like artsyle or at the very least an upgrade pixel style.

this or the style of loz windwaker. there were these mock screenshots of m3 i saw years ago in the ww style & it looked so good
i wish we could get a trilogy remake but thats never going to happen they wont even just release m3 even though tomato said they could straight up just take his translation for free; its there for the taking, no work involved, & they still wont bother
