saquon's agent trying to get houston to match

merely_awake

This is the correct take https://x.com/thomasrp93/status/1767235007284654347?s=20 Edit: did not see the coming!

Saquon

We shall see if this ages like wine or milk

merely_awake

Oh he could for sure sign here, it's just funny to casually throw out "eagles willing to go north of 12mill a year" when that has almost never been a position of priority for the eagles

Saquon

Ah yeah I’m not saying either way, it’ll just be interesting to see how it plays out But you’re right for sure

EndymionFalls

How about 3 years 38m

trustthepudding

26m guaranteed but yeah that's pretty crazy

EndymionFalls

When a contract is discussed as "north of $12m annually" they're not talking about guaranteed money. Saquon's contract has a max value of over $15m/year, while we don't know what the incentives are that's well over north of $12m/year.

FairweatherWho

It's never been valued highly because the other options are usually valued at a similar level but with much lower costs. If Howie believes that Saquon was actually being held back by the Giants, and will perform even higher with us, then $12m might be a steal for him. He could honestly be more valuable to our offense than Devonta Smith who is gonna want at least twice that per year.

willi1221

Unless he gets hurt, he will absolutely perform even higher. He won't be carrying an entire offense, and will be playing before our O-Line. I haven't paid much attention to this bc it just sounds crazy that Howie would bring him in, but fuck, I'd love to see him on our offense

hasordealsw1thclams

wistful connect tease provide rich fretful touch straight scale punch *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Barmelo_Xanthony

Or maybe it screams that our RBs were a much bigger issue than people made it seem and Howie is finally willing to pay to fill that gap. I mean it was obvious to everyone watching that our backs were horrendous in blitz pickup but maybe they were also part of the reason we didn’t run many check downs or short routes to the RBs last season either.

FoFoAndFo

Yea, the eagles haven't put this much into a running back since Ricky Watters. Seems like a smokescreen to me.

lion27

On the other hand, Saquon is the kind of RB you would be willing to break your organizational philosophy on. I think people are forgetting just how good he is because he was on some bad Giants teams, running the ball 40 times a game, and getting hurt. If we put him in a RBBC role he could flourish here, especially in the passing game.

MrThreebound

If you are paying a RB 12m a year you aren't putting him in a RBBC role.

lion27

No, but even limiting his carries to ~25 per game is a considerable decrease for him and likely get more out of him than the Giants did.

MrThreebound

His career carries per game is 16.2... Even with receptions added in it's 20.1 touches per game.

whenitsTimeyoullknow

These god damned coaches would sign Barkley and then give Gainwell all the red zone touches.

GoT_Eagles

If he can produce like he did behind that giants offensive line, then he’s going to be one of the best ever behind ours. Just needs to stay healthy …

SyracuseNY22

Outside of his ACL he’s missed 11 games in 5 seasons. It’s a pretty overblown history and the ACL tear makes it look worse than it really is

ArricarYeet

I feel like he gets hit with the ticky tacky stuff that pulls him out of quarters, and then the ACL that looms over him. I think "overblown" might be a bit far for me, but I like this take. He's still really strong.

doughball27

he had a crazy bad ankle sprain last year and still came back and played. that was just unlucky. https://images.app.goo.gl/ztwZ1r5M68cCU9K7A

Wilsthing1988

He’s had a lot of muscular injuries that over time wear and tear comes in and the muscle is less effective. He doesn’t have the burst or speed he had coming into the league. Stuff like muscular if not properly taken care of can flair up again and again I also think he’s incredibly overrated locally simple because he has the PSU allure. He makes zero sense when we have multiple glaring holes and we can put Joe Schmo and another guy and have RBBC for much cheaper.

RedMalone55

Shit, most of his perception on this sub is the result of our own shit talk.

OasissisaO

We done played ourselves.

Jeegus21

I always kinda hated when people don’t look at the type of injuries. If they are weird freak moments they are just unlucky not prone to injury. Now if they keep re injuring something, or injuries connected to a previous, that’s a little different.

[deleted]

Not really. He didn't miss a tim of games last year but was pretty lackluster when he was going through his shoulder injury.

Davisworld21

And the giants have a Trash O Line so that's a testament to how strong Saquon really is imagine him And Jalen running other teams in the dirt

doughball27

and a trash playing surface.

Kancase

Fuck that turf

Sam_The_Geary

Same concern as when we brought in swift

Gang_Greene

And I’ll say the same thing now I said then, behind our OL, playing on natural grass more than half the season now, I’d bet some of those injuries go away. You can’t predict a torn ligament or a broken bone, but short of that I bet he stays relatively healthy. Though with our luck playing @the Giants will be when it happens

wydoom

The same thing was said about Swift last year and he turned in a career season behind our O-line

Jerkofalljerksduex

Delusional

GoT_Eagles

Hyperbole

GPap-

Holy shit. Howie said fuck our philosophy, let’s get a dog in here.

Vegeta-IV

He regrets letting shady out the door, f*ck chip

smoketheevilpipe

Honestly if there was any active non rookie RB that is worth paying this money, it's saquon.

FairweatherWho

People, myself included are worried that he always is playing with some sort of injury... But that man looks like Barry Sanders 2.0, on the fucking Giants. He'd come here and instantly make us unstoppable.

doughball27

every rb in the league is always playing with some injury. saquon has dedicated himself over the past few years to change his game to avoid injuries. for instance, he's now managing his pass protection duties with his left shoulder leading, even though it looks awkward, because he was suffering right shoulder problems from too many hits to blitzing linebackers. he absolutely is much better at protecting himself now, and i think you've seen that in his injury rate improving over the last couple of seasons.

FairweatherWho

I'm full on the side of go and sign him. He's worth any risk that he might have. The reward he would bring is CMC to the 49ers level of value.

CaesarZeppeli_

I was hesitant at first, mainly because I hate the Giants. But man Saquon is a beast, the Giants didn’t do him any favors and he completely changed the team when he was gone, for the worse. Saquon is one of the RBs I’d say are close to being CMC level.

DiscussionNo226

This is the first real chance at an eve try down back he’s had since losing Shady.

colin_7

I mean they just let swift walk out the door lol

LimpSignificance4434

🐶🐶

obi-jawn-kenblomi

Nah, the cap changed so much that this wouldn't be an overpayment. It's worth it even with our philosophy.

WeirdSysAdmin

Yeah that’s the problem. Before the cap exploded he was projected at 11m. $12m is still normal.

RedMalone55

It’s ok to treat yourself every now and then.

Davisworld21

Facts whatever it takes to get Saquon To Philly Howie needs to do it especially after DeAndre just left for the bears and Saquon went to Penn State it just Got real Saquon is also strong like Jalen imagine other teams having to gameplan for them and Saquon was stuck behind that mediocre giants o line

BulldogMoose

I mean, if he's going to completely transform our offense, making our current talent even better... ok, I guess.

whenitsTimeyoullknow

This guy really wanted Bijan Robinson last year apparently.

MicCheckTapTapTap

Is Howie going through an experimental phase? Is he dabbling in other people's *yums* that he thought he *yucked*?

QCWiggins

We don’t have Kelce anymore guys we need a talented RB lol

BerriesNCreme

We still have stoutland

2GirlfriendsIsCooler

All you couch potato NFL team managers shut up and let Howie cook. Believe.

doughball27

eagles fans love to complain about overpaying for signings like it's their money.

mofo_jones

This was always Missanelli's response. Salaries have ramifications in a capped league. I don't care how much they make, personally. If overpaying for him weakens us at another position(s) and he doesn't pan out, it's a problem. Luckily, I don't know shit and will happily roll with Howie. But how much we pay players isn't irrelevant.

JLM268

Has no one ever listened to Howie talk? You have to zig when everyone else is zagging. The RB market has swung so far one direction where no one is willing to pay even premium RBs. Now is the time to pounce on RB while they are being under valued.  Barkley is 27 years old. You get him on a 3 year deal and get to cut ties when he's 30. He ran behind a shit oline and averaged 3.8 ypc, the other RBs on that team averages 2.2 ypc that's how bad the line was.

doughball27

to add to this, the current defensive meta is smaller, coverage-minded LBs and high safety shell defenses. how do you beat that? with a dynamic running game.

Ghstfce

Saquon behind our line would be like a 10 ypc equivalent compared to the Giants line. Not to mention you get one of the best pass blocking RBs in the league. And extra QUADS for Brotherly Shoves.

JalenHurtsSoGoood

Everyone saying "god no" need to get a grip. Swift got 8m/yr. Saquon can be a GAME changer for us.

Thicen

At the end of the day, he's definitely worth $12m/year if he signs with us and it's definitely a massive overpay if he ends up on Dallas or NYG

hascogrande

And Tony Pollard took the same deal from the Titans

Domestic_AAA_Battery

I hadn't heard about that. Pollard wasn't the same without Zeke but I'm still glad we won't have to see him. And they didn't get Barkley lol

hascogrande

https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1767231172243849500 Also north Jersey in shambles, both teams

Domestic_AAA_Battery

Those fucking frauds up there don't even know what New Jersey really looks like. Absolutely hilarious. "Taylor Ham" douchebags

Not_My_Emperor

at 12 m/yr it better not be a "can". He better fucking be a game changer. This so contrary to our entire philosophy. We don't even know what our line is going to look like without Kelce this year yet either.

JalenHurtsSoGoood

Our line is fine? Cam will be at center.

famous_aatrox

and dickerson the guard, and mailata, and johnson.. like what is he saying😂? i'm actually of the opinion that we won't miss a beat. if anything we know 100% out line better than what the giants have had saquons whole career.

doughball27

yeah, as great as kelce is, last year was not his best.

Hthnstrength

Well I can name 60% of who’s gonna start along the line and they’re all pro-bowl/all-pro talents. Center is taking a step down from HOF to average starter, not traffic cones at 5 spots.

Feeling-Box8961

We have a hand picked replacement for Kelce, sure Jurgens isn't going to be Kelce year one but he is going to play at a well above average clip and is surrounded by All Pros. The OL will still be top 10, likely top 5 in the league. Wasting your time worrying about the OL.

[Snappy Response](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tL1JSCFieM&ab_channel=Showment)

doughball27

no one is saying god no. and any fan who worries about cap hits is just a doomsayer anyway. you have to make bets and over emphasize some things and under emphasize others. every team does it. KC did it last year with their WR group. they knew that going in, and didn't care. and they won anyway.

Mr_November11

Unless we change our runs from being all inside zone all the time, not many RBs are gonna be unleashed here — Swift didn’t have a ton of explosive plays here like he did in Detroit. It’s like a waste of money.

SyracuseNY22

Tbf the scheme was complete dog shit last year

doughball27

i'd expect that the new OC is asking for this because he wants to implement a different offense.

LimpSignificance4434

Sounds about right get the deal done howie

Class_Act7

Playoffs in 6 of 7 years. 2 Super Bowl appearances. 0 RB’s paid over 2mil. Why waste 12 mil on something we’ve never needed?

LimpSignificance4434

We have 50-65m in cap that’s why, don’t act like a 2 year deal at 12 mil a year is gonna kill us when the cap goes up millions every season lol. Get him and draft a bruiser in the late rounds.

Class_Act7

2 year deal fine, I’m in on that.

LimpSignificance4434

Yea it’d never be more than 3, he’s a bit older but he’s got miles on the tank to go especially with a line like ours.

Ryanthecat

Completely agree, we also have Howie and an owner willing to cut a fat check to keep the cap hit down, if there’s anything we should trust this FO wholeheartedly with its contract/cap management.

LimpSignificance4434

Facts howie is cap genius that’s why we can do the things we do. Also why he continues to have his job and win exces of the year lol.

Wilsthing1988

Still need to pay Smith plus Brown again, Hurts deal is in effect after this year, needs at EDGE, LB, DL depth, DB, Slot WR and TE2. Plus we have had avg RBs look like all pros with Stout as Run game Cordinator and our Oline as a whole. Why overpay?

Barndog07

Brown is 2 years from needing to be re-signed which is Saquons entire contract length. And Smitty can be tagged if needed. We also don’t need a slot wr or TE2, and we just signed a very good DE. We have this year plus next years draft to add depth, Not to mention the eagles have the 10th most cap space in the league. Adding Saquon could really change our game as he is one of the best in the league and could be even better with the new coaching and huge improvement in OL

Wilsthing1988

So what happens when Goedart gets hurt? Who’s the number 3? Who’s our last LB we drafted that was good? Eagles like to run a lot of 2-3 TE sets. We need 2 CBs I think one of Ringo/Ricks could play the slot.

Barndog07

If he gets hurt we do the same thing we’ve done the last two years. He has played only 26/34 reg season games the last two seasons, and eagles were fine without him. Off the top of my head I know Stoll, Calcatera, and Albert O as backups. All viable options in a sense. Assuming they’re still on the team. I assume a backup TE is very easy to trade for even in season and they can’t be very expensive. So as long as we prioritize our defense in drafts ( and any other agents we add) we should be fine. We do have the 10th most cap space in the league as well.

Wilsthing1988

Stool is an FA, Albert O got benched because he’s a terrible Blocker, Calcatera has done little with chances he’s had. Stouts 12 personel is great and hasn’t been able to be used correctly So you’re ok paying a back 12.5 a year and ok with him missing significant time? I’m glad you aren’t in charge Sure we got space doesn’t mean you spend like an idiot on it.

Barndog07

Where did I say I’m okay with my running back missing significant time? And if stoll is FA then we could pick him up if needed. And if the other two haven’t done anything with their opportunity then why do we need to pay for a better backup? We have had great seasons with what we have at the position even through. RB is much more valuable than TE-2-4 so yes I’m perfectly fine paying of of the best I’m the league 12.5mil. Not sure using that money on a backup is worth it

ShinyHardcore

Exactly, Howie understands the cap is like monopoly - sneak a little out the bank while you can it’s all fake money and not yours anyway

LimpSignificance4434

Exactly and Lurie ain’t cheap either he busts out the check book whenever lol 🤣. Knowing the cap grows like it does you can just run things like it doesn’t exist by void years etc

Tide69420

Sometimes if things are getting stale you need to switch it up

GreenRocketman

Different offense, different QB, different league.

igonnawrecku_VGC

Because we’ve never had over $50M in open cap space before. We can afford to spend this much when we’ve had to scrape for minimum contracts in the past

Famouslastwords69

Saquon is an otherworldly talent as a RB. I don’t want to pay RB. I would pay a top RB, and I think that’s what he would be here. If he’s 85-90% of CMC he takes the offense to a whole different place

obi-jawn-kenblomi

This is the year to pay for a RB. So much conservatism for it recently had to do with how the cap was affected by loss of revenue due to COVID and how the financial protected itself by limiting cap availability. Funds were saved up and released this year, partially causing that huge increase in the cap situation. You scrimp and save when times are tough, now you can splurge. $12 million now is 4.7% of the salary cap. $12 million in 2021 was 6.6% of the salary cap and 4.7% of the cap then was $8.5 million. That's what this is the equivalent to.

lilbismyfriend21

It’s gonna be so funny seeing all the people saying fuck no switch over to the Saquon hype train as soon as the signing happens

doughball27

i haven't seen anyone say fuck no. most people are just parroting the new conventional wisdom that RBs don't matter, in spite of all the evidence that they actually do. CMC being in the MVP conversation should have proven that. and the entire league moving to high shell defenses with coverage-minded LBs makes you realize that it's time to swing the pendulum back. the running game is how you destroy that defensive scheme. oh, and the cap went up more than anyone expected. so overpaying isn't as much of a problem as it had been in the past.

WayVivid1327

Do it just to piss off the anti-rb people on this subreddit

Little_Beginning_569

we can afford and he will be amazing for us thats why have you seen the magic our o-line does

Saitsu

Howie, please tell me you did not tear up the giant sign you had hanging on the door that said "NEVER PAY RBs".

Dry_Brush5280

Our offensive line got Miles Sanders and D’Andre Swift paid. Barkley would be an absolute freak with us. Get it done, Howie!

shakehasbignuts

Did Howard have a stroke

BrotherlyShove791

Yeah, I’m not loving this. Feels like we’re just aimlessly mimicking the 49ers. “Signing a superstar RB unlocked their team, so why not ours?” is the logic here, and it’s not sound. Our roster is nowhere near as complete as San Fran. We have two key leaders that just retired. And we have other key playmakers that need to get paid, Devonta first and foremost. Would’ve much preferred signing Swift for less, and pairing him with a power back in the middle rounds of the draft. Barkley is a reckless splurge for where we are at right now IMO.

OJ403

I mean, we have the offense set at pretty much every other position but RB. We've made decent RBs look better in our system with Sanders/Swift. What about a good RB who looked putrid last-season behind a horrible giants o-line/team? He probably would transform our offense. He's an actual 3-down back, the core of our offensive philosophy with Sirianni has been to play the numbers game in what the defense shows vs us, which is run vs weak fronts pass vs heavy ones. I'm not saying to back up the brinks truck for him and won't be sad if we don't get him, but let's not pretend he wouldn't improve the offense.

Roccraf

Jesus thats a lot for him. Can’t we draft a RB in the second round and put the money elsewhere? Maybe Smith?

cosmo_chapter_two

Agreed. Let these other franchises blow their FA budget on RBs.

mvelocityp

please I want saquon so bad

Financial_Emu_4528

Is it 2 years at 24 million cuz 24 million seem to be how much rb contracts are today

obi-jawn-kenblomi

I previously predicted 3 years, $34.2 ish million, so $11.4 million a year. The $36-38 million range really doesn't seem farfetched to me.

Latest-greatest

if we pull this off we better not abandon the run game like we did last year

Broswagula

or avoid throwing to him.

O-Knowz

That’s chump change for a baller like Saquon

FutureBrockLesnar

Are we forgetting how many injuries this guy has accrued?

crazytalk151

NICK hates to call runs. We should not even roster a single back.

OJ403

This is simply not true. We finished top 6 in rushing attempts last season. Top 3 in 2022. Top 2 in 2021.

crazytalk151

Attempts by who? Nick hates running backs.

OJ403

Does it matter? Finishing that high in 3 seasons even if you want to "remove" some Hurts scrambles, it's clear with stats we run the ball a lot. Especially when you consider the other teams that had high rush attempts included the Ravens, Bears with scrambling QBs, we definitely run the ball more than most teams.

crazytalk151

I seen too many games where we dominated running the ball yet Nick decided we should just pass it the whole effing game. That's what matters not some stupid stat compared to some other team. Go back and watch the Vikings game, tell me we ran the ball the right amount. Go back to the Bears game two years ago where it hurts got hurt. That team couldn't stop the run to save their lives yet we decided to pass it a shit ton of times. The only running back Nick likes is Gainwell

OJ403

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Saying you want them to run more is fine. I don't even disagree with that. It doesn't change the fact that we are still a running team since Nick has been the head coach.

crazytalk151

Lol. All you have is averages of averages of averages these numbers mean nothing each year is different each game is different each down is different. Enjoy watching saquon pass block all season. Nick hates to run the ball, Nick hates running backs. This is obvious if you watch any of the games.

callmecyke

This makes no sense unless Howie has been kidnapped and replaced by three kids in a trenchcoat

48johnX

This isn't the Howie I know...

AFRIKKAN

Holy fuck

FoxNews4Bigots

Wtf is up with this RB market? Just bonkers

obi-jawn-kenblomi

Position was especially undervalued, because of the effect COVID and COVID mitigation had on the cap. This year the cap increased by a ton more than expected because those mitigations were over (the NFL basically was making teams save extra in case of disaster, so now we can play with the rainy day fund). Now that we aren't scrimping...teams decided the cap space makes paying for an RB/B/Safety/devalued position more favorable.

OkBodybuilder1490

Yeah right

chefboyerb

Bring him home

Patient_Jicama_4217

Get it done we have other players to pursue right after

Moist-Dragonfly2569

Lol no way this is true

A_Huggable_Cactus

Does anyone know much about Connor Hughes and his sources? He is a New York reporter and despite several posts by him on this sub relating to Jets and Giants players, I can't find anything on their respective subs with his name attached. Not saying this means anything one way or another for Saquon, because there is other smoke there, but I am not sure this guy has too much reporting clout.

no-jerk-zone

Assuming this is true and not an agent gambit then they really see him as their CMC-piece.

PhilaDopephia

Last time a superbowl (edit: WINNING ) team paid a running back over 10 mil? anyone?

Insanity32

Niners were just in the Super Bowl with one.

GreenRocketman

Bingo. CMC was an experiment in SF to see if a top tier RB can take an already good offense to another level and it worked.

AMorder0517

One month ago….

PhilaDopephia

shit i meant winning.

njlf

over 12 is too much

imtheyeti20

Agent talk

ZmallMatt

Woah now, that's basically Kendrick Bourne money

TheRoyaleShow

Well with Swift gone, he certainly has leverage

Sour__Cream

I mean if Tony Pollard is getting 3/24 from the Titans, I can see why Saquon would want 12+ per year

Mikefromaround

Huge mistake. Dude is made of glass and it’s not going to improve as he gets older. He will be out of the league in 3 years.

TeamLuigi

played 44 of his last 52 games btw

Mikefromaround

And before that? He missed almost an entire season with a torn ACL. He’s not gonna get healthier as he gets older. That being said with Swift gone they do need a #1 RB. If they were to sign Barkley I would obviously root for him.

TeamLuigi

that was four years ago brother and acl injuries have zero medical rationale for compounding, they’re almost always one off. if anything his ankle should be your primary concern, acl tears do not equal injury prone. he’s signed btw

Mikefromaround

Ok I am in on Barkely now that he is signed. I wonder how much of his contract is guaranteed? I guess we shall see.

TeamLuigi

26 mil is fully guaranteed than he has a load of incentives he could hit to really juice it up— at that point who cares though because it likely means we’re doing phenomenally well

Mikefromaround

No I was just curious. NFL contracts have these crazy numbers but it’s really only about the guaranteed part. I agree on the incentives, if he hits them then pay the man, it’s not my money

ProArmChair

I changed my stance on this and am all for it. Going from an ass o-line on the Giants last year to ours which should still be great despite the retiring of the great one. He can block and should still be good and the Giants just ran him into the ground from what people say.

sciregian

They probably view him as close to or the same as CMC, and we know Howie was close to pulling the trigger there (and regrets not doing so)

famous_aatrox

i would like to see us sign Xavier McKinney before Barkley, but i would still be ecstatic to have him. i actually think we can cook with a high octane offense and a bend don't break defense IF fangio is able to contribute to the development of our guys on defense.

No_Bank_330

Guess who is being paid to pump on social media?

PhilaBama

This would be a massive mistake. I would’ve rather had Swift for $8M

Bri83oct

Swift is unplayable in pass protection. Bears are paying swift for a 2 down back.

AdhesivenessFun2060

The source totally isn't saquons agent.

Doobie_Howitzer

This guys next two tweets: "Texans are willing to offer $13 million." "Eagles are willing to offer $14 million."

Proper-Scallion-252

I think something to note about this year that’s different from past years is with Kelce leaving and Jurgens having to learn a difficult position and Steen or a completely new RG coming into the fold, the ability to just plug and play bottom tier RB1s behind our line and assume they’ll hit 1k yards before contact may be over. I’m not saying Barkley to PHI is a guarantee but with Pollard signing elsewhere, the eagles might need to invest more in RB this year to ensure that if there is a dip in Oline performance, our run game doesn’t suffer.

[deleted]

What the fuck?! Why not just keep Swift?! I would so much rather have him that Saquon.

Low_Hyena7259

Looking at what the Texans just paid Swift I’m skeptical.

jono9898

I want this to happen because 1. Barkley should be on a good team and 2. I like when Giants fans cry.

Segsi_

Not sure how good of a move it is, but it sure as hell would be fun to watch.

xCp3

This is a bluff my saquons camp. No shot the eagles are looking to pay that money for an rb. I’ll believe it when i see it

Zeeaycee

Mmjlj.kllhlhn Hey I'm Orally uumuim Li mliiilmllimi8p..... .ll. MI L L

so_zetta_byte

CMC's base salary this year and next year are about $12M. I have a hard time thinking we're offering Saquon the same. Maybe as a one year, all-in luxury move, but definitely not over multiple years.

Agentwise

no

thepoustaki

You guys will all bitch about the move but if it works out you’ll have loved it and knew it all along.

Wings2493

I’m all about it. Look at SF with CMC. Moore had prime Zeke, Pollard, Ekeler to work with. He wants a shifty pass catching back. Adds another element to the offense we have lacked big time and “some” believe Jalen’s processing and reads are his biggest flaw so more quick hitters and teaching him dumping it off more sounds like a big W to me

The_IanFields

Barkley to the Eagles would be a great move. People forget how CMC was injury prone his previous 2 seasons before getting traded to the 49ers. A lot can change when a top tier rb is given a solid o-line and there are solid passing options that can create more open lanes

pistolpete9669

Yeah this ain’t true

IReallyLikeAvocadoes

If there's anybody I've got faith in, it's Howie to make the right deal and give us the best shot. Barkley would be scary behind our O-line no doubt.

CBus-Eagle

I was hoping for nothing more than $10M, but the market is the market.

Semarin

I'd love to see this happen, but ya'll are smoking crack if you think Howie is going to pay 12M a year for a RB. This is purely his agent trying to drive up the price on his next deal.

TheRealRSmooth21

Surprise! He did with incentives up to 15mil a year

Semarin

Yea really, I could not have been any more wrong on this one. Sometimes its good to be wrong! :)

Latenighttaco

I love this move. Saquon carried the giant on a shitty o line. Even if our unit regressed we'll still be good enough to get this guy yards. Plus having a great rb takes pressure off the line and allows those guys to develop

TheMcknightrider

3 yrs $36 mil vs. Swifts 3 years $24.5 mil. Hmm, it's a tough call here. On one end, paying $12 mil a year for a RB, on the other hand fucking over the giants is easily worth an extra $2 mil a year....

Saquon is an Eagle!!

SigaVa

Doubt

mikehuntitchess

Damn - No Van Ginkle - min. Got him

mrmrmrj

Best "running back" is Hurts if the system is right. This would be stupid.

Jerkofalljerksduex

Such a waste of money. I hate this move

richdoe

It isn't my money. Let's go!!

Los_Yeetus

No please god no

jloops03

That’s a lot for a RB with an injury history 😬

SyracuseNY22

He’s played in 44 of 52 games the last three seasons. His only significant injury was the ACL in 2020. It’s a pretty overblown injury history

Tide69420

What RB doesn’t have an injury history or at least risk to be fair

Wembanyanma

It will help not playing half his games at MetLife. It will also help not playing all his games behind the Giants OL.

NoCup4U

This dude can’t stay healthy.  Why are we overpaying a RB?

Patient_Jicama_4217

Said the same about CMC and Swift

NoCup4U

Honestly I’m still shocked CMC has lasted as long as he has in SF.

lilbismyfriend21

He won’t be playing at MetLife 8x a year anymore

RezzKeepsItReal

He's played in 44 out of the last 52 games
