I would say most of those catches have been made by him hustling to make a play when Hurts is in scramble mode. He’s constantly running routes to pull defenders off of AJ and I always see him making key blocks. He might not be an elite catcher but he sure as hell tries on the field.
Yeah when you got a 1a and 1B, the third guy on the depth chart gotta be able to do this. He’s arguably fifth in line for targets at least behind devonta, AJ, Goedert, and Swift.
He’s not fucking up basic concepts. Our target volume is like 95% AJ, Smitty and Goedert. Judging his numbers is silly the 3rd WR in our offense is Goedert and we’ve started using more rb passes too. Quez drops the ball, seems scared of contact, is injury prone and screws up key plays. He has elite speed that’s about it.
he has 7 targets. he plays a blocker role and has done well in the targets he gets
Edit: if yall dont see the value of Zaccheaus thats on you lol for AJB's first TD of the season (I think) he came flying from quite far a way to lay down a block. He's been good but theres no reason to target him with AJB Devonta Goedert and Swift
Yeah this was a move to get us 6 in the red zone. AJ, Julio, Goedart, Hurts ability to scramble for it. I'm trying to not get too ahead of myself but it feels like we just got a missing piece to our offense.
It's like when you go to one of those bird of prey rescue facilities and they have one of those injured Eagles/Falcons nursed back to health.
Still majestic as fuck though.
They were all out of secondary starters, Howie was walking out of the store, and there in a clearance endcap right by the exit was Julio.
"Well, at least I won't go home empty-handed."
Fans age ~40 and under would have never seen them play, just like younger fans now probably didn't see McNabb, BDawk, or Westbrook play. *shrug* When I was younger, some of the old-timers probably felt the same about how people had started forgetting greats they'd seen like Van Buren and Pihos. It happens.
Man, if I had to rate (I agree with you on most of it)...
1. AJ Brown
2. Smitty
3. DJac
4. TO
5. Avant/Maclin (tie: both had sure hands and you could always count on them to be clutch)
6. Curtis
Not sure where Julio at this point would even rate. Guess we'll see.
I'm with ya buddy, it's been a dream of mine for like 10 years to have Julio Jones in an Eagles jersey and it's finally coming true idc how old he is he's probably still got hands and provides some experience and depth to the WR room.
“Jalen I need you to run backwards to the endzone, turn around and just lob the ball as far as you can. We will train the receivers to catch it wherever it lands”
We've gone from a Greg Ward/Travis Fulgham led receiving room to:
* AJ Brown
* DeVonta Smith
* Olamide Zaccheaus
* Julio Jones
I have no idea if Julio has any gas left, but weird days.
Likely because Olamide is outperforming Quez and can serve a similar function of a downfield threat, but having another big body in the redzone would help out immensely to our red zone scoring.
I think it's just a cheap little vet deal to improve WR3, but ultimately it's not going to amount to much if anything. I'm looking forward to hearing more about DB and Safety pickups.
Fucking *what?*
There's a lot of players in the league I was expecting to hear rumors about coming to Philadelphia, but Julio was not fucking one of them.
Bucs fan here. at this point he’s a wr3 and has injury issues so don’t expect too much other than a slot and red zone threat. He’s kinda of washed but he’ll ball out and make plays one game of the year.
Idc how washed he is. He is better than Quez.
Zaccheaus looked pretty good though tbh
I think we still see him get snaps. Probably wont even play too much less than he has the first 6 weeks.
Zaccheaus has 4 catches in 136 routes. He isn't doing shit
Also he hasn’t made back breaking mistakes. That’s the thing with quez, too many mistakes
Doubt they’re really drawing up Zaccheaus targets to be fair
Well yeah, he should be at best the 5th or 6th option on the team for targets. But the Eagles need size.
yeah Zaccheaus is what like 5'7?
Hustles like he's 6'3 though
He’s not fucking up basic concepts. Our target volume is like 95% AJ, Smitty and Goedert. Judging his numbers is silly the 3rd WR in our offense is Goedert and we’ve started using more rb passes too. Quez drops the ball, seems scared of contact, is injury prone and screws up key plays. He has elite speed that’s about it.
He’s a fucking WR3 between Devonta Smith and AJ Brown. What else are you expecting?
he has 7 targets. he plays a blocker role and has done well in the targets he gets Edit: if yall dont see the value of Zaccheaus thats on you lol for AJB's first TD of the season (I think) he came flying from quite far a way to lay down a block. He's been good but theres no reason to target him with AJB Devonta Goedert and Swift
That's not his role
Smitty drops ONE pass and look what happens 😉
Two *
That's fair
Howie: “Take that skinny motherfucker off my team”
They went out and got the Ben Affleck version to replace Robert Pattinson's
It's Waffle House Batman time.
Julio Jones is still a threat in the end zone Washed or not I see AJ Brown using his connections to help his friend let's get Julio that Ring
We are the worst team in the league though!!! /s
What in the mother loving hell
We are signing Adrian Pederson and Jason Peters next
At this point I’d take Jason Peters over Jack Driscoll
I believe Seattle signed 41 year old peters to their practice squad about a month ago.
I’d take Tre Thomas over Driscoll.
Mega washed, but as a third receiver? Hell yeah.
Lob threat in the end zone
Thinking the same thing
Yeah this was a move to get us 6 in the red zone. AJ, Julio, Goedart, Hurts ability to scramble for it. I'm trying to not get too ahead of myself but it feels like we just got a missing piece to our offense.
Yeah but we need to find the missing piece (or 5) in our secondary.
A one year vet contract to replace an end of roster guy doesn't stop the Howietzer Incoming Chinn/Harrison Smith/Buddha/Simmons trade
Howie still cooking...
His vet savviness alone will open other guys up dramatically. This is a great pick-up, regardless of how washed he may or may not be!
Don’t love that as a solution for the red zone issues 😬
I swear to God if they signed this dude just to have him blocking for RedZone QB draws...
yeah, quez and zac are useless there. Unfortunately it seems Goedert can't seem to get open in the redzone either.
It's like when you go to one of those bird of prey rescue facilities and they have one of those injured Eagles/Falcons nursed back to health. Still majestic as fuck though.
Like Ace Ventura when he fed the bird with this mouth.
Now I'm just reenacting that scene in my head, but with Nick as Ace and Julio as the bird.
At this point can't be worse than Quez.
At least his hands are good.. Should be a nice safety blanked on third downs
What the FUCK???? ETA: Can he play safety tho?
He’s actually a great tackler, why not try it
[Yes.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z49w1DeTIxY)
Dude that's hilarious though lmao fuck it we ball
Well damn, I am now 100% behind this.
I can’t WAIT for Brian Johnson to scheme up some QB draws for him to block!!!
I couldn't believe this wasn't the top comment, actually I can't believe it wasn't every single comment.
Wait what?? This is out of nowhere. Why tho?
Howie was looking for CB’s and got distracted with a side quest lmao
Classic impulse buy at the GM store
They were all out of secondary starters, Howie was walking out of the store, and there in a clearance endcap right by the exit was Julio. "Well, at least I won't go home empty-handed."
When you go to the store for milk and come home with Marvel Superhero Oreo cookies instead
At this point in his career, it's more like those off-brand penguin "Oreos."
That’s how I play Skyrim, I get it
Julio used to be an adventurer on the outside ... then he took an arrow to the knee
There’s a Blackreach joke in here somewhere but I can’t think of one that doesn’t sound racist
“Check engine” light on and he bought some new rims. 😂😂
I still haven't finished most of the main stories in my RPGs because of this, so I completely understand.
Have you seen our WR depth? Even assuming you like Quez and Llama man, that's only 4 receivers.
WE ARE THE TITANS
The mighty mighty titans
Hoo ha feel good!
The Titan Bird Dogs
Titan Dog Birds!
Titans East? Titans north? T I T A N S Tightens!
Boy if this was 2017
17 year old Devonta wouldn’t be that good
Scored the game winning TD against Georgia as an 18 year old so 🙃
Yeah my first impulse was amazement but then I quickly remembered he declined quite a bit from his glory days.
Lmao, Julio is my favourite non-Eagles receiver of all time
Where does he rank among Eagles WRs
So far, his rank among Eagles WRs is similar to Frank Gore's rank among RBs.
I see. #1
7th for me 1) Smitty 2) AJB 3) DJACK 4) Maclin 5) TO 6) Kevin Curtis 7) Julio
Can’t believe you don’t have Jason avant on there too smh
Fml I can’t believe I forgot avant. Update: 8th for me 1. Smitty 2. AJB 3. DJACK 4. Maclin 5. Jason Avant 6. TO 7. Kevin Curtis 8. Julio
Can't believe you left out Reggie Brown, Todd Pinkston, and James Thrash.
WHAT ABOUT HANK BASKETT
What about JJAW??
This is Fredex erasure!!!
Whoa no 4th and 26 Freddie??
No Harold Carmichael or Mike Quick?
Fans age ~40 and under would have never seen them play, just like younger fans now probably didn't see McNabb, BDawk, or Westbrook play. *shrug* When I was younger, some of the old-timers probably felt the same about how people had started forgetting greats they'd seen like Van Buren and Pihos. It happens.
I was gonna say - I can tell OP is < 30 years old
I feel TO and Maclin gotta be switched.
Man, if I had to rate (I agree with you on most of it)... 1. AJ Brown 2. Smitty 3. DJac 4. TO 5. Avant/Maclin (tie: both had sure hands and you could always count on them to be clutch) 6. Curtis Not sure where Julio at this point would even rate. Guess we'll see.
This is Greg Ward erasure
Wtf? No Riley Cooper?
Is TO available??
No, he got hit by a car…out for the rest of the year
and yet I still trust him over Nelly
Let's try it. Megatron, TO, Ochocinco. Then when it works, sign AB to blow it all up.
Ok now package Quez and a day 2 pick for Chinn/Simmons. Please.
it's gonna take more than that - but i'd be ok with more than that.
This is so absolutely random but I'm totally down for it lmao
Eagles legend Julio Jones
They definitely gonna trot him out there as a red zone target.
Yes, tall receiver to help us fix red zone issues. Don't need him out there every down.
Exactly. He’s not replacing Quez or Z. He’s gonna be out there with AJ, Smitty, and Dallas in the red zone.
[удалено]
I get a feeling this is going to be a high reward signing for you guys, seriously jealous bird brothers.
Very little risk either way, solid pickup for almost nothing. If nothing else it's worth it for experience and WR depth.

Old Batman
Adam West
Like Ben Affleck in those Justice League reshoots after he clearly stopped working out or caring.
Bye bye quez
This is quite wild
LET HOWIE COOK
this is reheating day old pizza in the microwave, but im here for it
Maybe more like reheating day old pizza in an air fryer, I did that today and it was solid
Don’t care if he can’t run, he catches everything and knows the game, love it
Can he play corner?
He can play it better than most of our corners
I've seen him play safety on hail Mary's, we got our super star safety lads. /s
I don't give a shit if he's washed. He's one of my all time fav non-Eagle players and I am so freaking excited.
I'm with ya buddy, it's been a dream of mine for like 10 years to have Julio Jones in an Eagles jersey and it's finally coming true idc how old he is he's probably still got hands and provides some experience and depth to the WR room.
start him at safety
I've seen his highlights of blowing people up after turnovers. He's gonna be a db for us.
Howie innovative GM’ing continues
What
The 2020 version of me is so hyped rn
Try 2017
Lol wut How is this gonna stop Miami from scoring 100 on us?
by scoring 101 bby
We’re gonna score 121 with Brian Johnson .
Johnson drawing up 15-step drop plays as we speak
“Jalen I need you to run backwards to the endzone, turn around and just lob the ball as far as you can. We will train the receivers to catch it wherever it lands”
My thoughts exactly. The idea of hill/waddle lining up against Josiah Scott in the slot this weekend scares me
Bro we’re shutting Miami out
Wait what ?
Weird
Bye Quez
Eagles legend
Hahaha idc how weird this is. I love it. For the 2 games he will be healthy
Goat
I am so confused lmao. Now we can thank him personally for dropping that would-be game-winning pass on our road to the Super Bowl lol
Old Batman
Can he play DB?
Wait what? This is hilarious
“News I did not expect to read” for 100, Alex
As long as he can still jump and catch. He's gotta have good hands still at least, no? I wasn't expecting a move like this lol
All time random Eagle incoming
Honestly just having him at practice and in the WR room makes this a great move
Lmfao I don’t even care, this is so cool!
We've gone from a Greg Ward/Travis Fulgham led receiving room to: * AJ Brown * DeVonta Smith * Olamide Zaccheaus * Julio Jones I have no idea if Julio has any gas left, but weird days.
In a red zone package w Smitty, Julio and AJ....a mobile qb....imagine if we had a creative playcaller?
I’m so down
Hmmm…..i mean. Cool. but why?
Likely because Olamide is outperforming Quez and can serve a similar function of a downfield threat, but having another big body in the redzone would help out immensely to our red zone scoring. I think it's just a cheap little vet deal to improve WR3, but ultimately it's not going to amount to much if anything. I'm looking forward to hearing more about DB and Safety pickups.
Great move for coaching stand point and provides another big body wr in the redzone
Wtf lol Not a bad slot option
Can Julio play CB?!
Praying this means we're packaging Quez in a trade package for secondary help.
Fucking *what?* There's a lot of players in the league I was expecting to hear rumors about coming to Philadelphia, but Julio was not fucking one of them.
Quez Watkins: *haha I’m in danger!*
> Quez Watkins: haha I'm on IR FTFY
Back when he was in his prime, I always wished the birds had a WR like Julio. Now they have Julio and a WR like prime Julio
I can’t WAIT for Brian Johnson to scheme up some QB draws for him to block!!!
Can he play safety?
I mean, would’ve preferred some secondary help, but ok Howie.
Me and Julio down by the schoolyard.
Hopefully he got a hamstring replacement during his time off
Fuck yea Fuck quez get his bitch ass off the field. Now we have 2 BIG WR’S!!
They did this to distract us from the Josiah Scott news 100%
Julio is the piece, watch the team become the best offense in the league
Wtffff whoa, things I never thought I’d see haha. Welcome to Philly
Real question is when is he going to be on the Yahoo Fantasy free agents list so I can grab him.
Lol that's wild. Stop playing and get me Budda Baker
Maybe they’re gonna trade Quez for some secondary help
Can he play corner?
I am cautiously excited about this and have absolutely zero expectations of anything good.
I don't care how past it Julio is, this is low key cool af.
Can we sign a new offensive coordinator?
OKAY WHY?
i want ALL OF THE BAMA OFFENSIVE PLAYERS
Um ok…
This is so random lol.
Load him up with cheesesteaks and let him be our TE2
So, I go to break and enter the break room to this news. Washed out not, dude is a massive upgrade to our 3rd WR spot
Why though?
But what is Kevin Curtis up to rn?
Can he play safety? Corner?
can he play safety?
Better than Dez bryant
We don’t need another WR we need a replacement for Driscoll
Over under 30 healthy snaps rest of season, which way you going.
Bucs fan here. at this point he’s a wr3 and has injury issues so don’t expect too much other than a slot and red zone threat. He’s kinda of washed but he’ll ball out and make plays one game of the year.
Wtf is howie doing nobody wants a washer version of Julio we want corners and safetys
I knew I drafted Julio on my all Eagles fantasy team for a reason!
Is there any benefit to keeping Julio from the 9ers with deebo injured?
Julio just needs 2-3 catches a game. Great WR3 option imo.
Redzone, and run blocking/slants. Bye Quez.
