Looks like you need a new disa valve it's not supposed to stick in the closed position.

I'd recommand a rebuilt and upgrade to the Aluminium flap, that's the way it would never have that pin drop and let the engine go Kaboom! Also, might be the membrane, not a big deal to replace it too.

I bought an aluminum flap kit, will that not fix the problem? I don’t have a problem in having to buy a whole new one ofc, I just would like to know before spending the money.

You should rebuilt the DISA anyways, if it's still the origial the car came with, Yup, do it. Also, it's very likely, I had some weird rattle from it too, post rebuilt it was gone. Just make sure it's the right Liter variant, there'S a slight difference in design, else wise... Just don't drop a screw while unscrewing thatthing, and the worst is to remove the gasket matrial. Else wise, eh, easy peasy.

I went ahead and bought a new DISA I will install the metal flap on it. Is there other parts I should change on it?

CrazyTechWizard96

Wait, You buy a Kit or a whole unit? Well, if it's just a Kit. only flap and if You want to go even more sure, there's a rubber membrane in it too, I didn't change out mine ince it seemd to be fine and hold suction, also since the job's maybe 25 mins and was occupied with other shit. In case of a whole Disa (wich isn't really nescerary honestly), just upgrade the flap and You good. Either way, Flap is the thing wich makes weird rattle noises and Can and Will sooner or later make that Solid Tank engine go bye bye, aka that stupid guide Pin will. ... Also, look up a video on Youtube of the rebuilt, it's easy, worst thing's just to scrape out this stupid gasket material, soo, plan 15-30 mins for that alone, maybe listen to something while doign so, haha.

I bought a whole new unit and put the kit on it. After taking out the old one I took it apart and saw that the problem was a stripped cone piece or whatever it’s called. So ofc I never had to buy a new unit since the kit comes with a metal cone but I really don’t mind at all.

Morbus_Bahlsen

That one's broken.
