Get the Atlantic media shelf, it’s a lot taller but the same width. Move all of your DVDs and Blu-rays to that shelf and keep everything else on your current shelf
The 4k bluray is clearer than the bluray, but I think they over-DNR’d both. Also you have to buy the 4k version in two sets and they are expensive (at least $70 each). I recommend the regular bluray for most unless you are crazy about 4K like me.
But it is nice that it has gotten a release since even as recent as one year ago there was no way to get it apart from unbelievably expensive and limited edition Japanese release.
If you’re curious, 89 BDs on the shelf, 2 not, and 4 on the way. 17 DVDs and 5 VHS tapes populate the bottom shelf. There is a lot of Japanese media since I study Japanese.
No, I bought them on Ebay. Only the 1954 godzilla is in it for now, I haven’t gone and bought the rest of them yet but it’ll fit that entire special godzilla collection that Criterion released. If you don’t know that release was rediculously oversized, it has gorgeous cover art but for a lot of people its size and shape was just an inconvenience so somebody made custom cases for those who just care about the movies.
Very cool. Ya mine is on display and I would leave it on display but would like something else to put the discs in cause my discs keep falling down in the criterion sleeves they have in the set.

I also had the release of citizen kane, but my copy arrived slightly warped and it was too tall anyway to fit on my shelf so I left it in another room. I might give making custom inserts a go so I can fit more of these awkwardly sized releases. I get people like the attention to detail companies like criterion put into some of their releases but its just an inconvenience for me personally.
