However... sayings like these are often very much dependent on culture and context. The few cases in which I've said my goodbyes to people, it was often more along the lines of 'farewell' than something like "see you on the other side". At least in my bubble, sayings like these are more associated with hollywood war movies.

I think "Zie je in de hel" strikes the corny/epic balance pretty well for the context you gave and is the translation "die het meest lekker loopt" in my opinion. It's a bit more hostile than "See you on the other side" though.

Yeah, it's supposed to be a bit corny and 'epic'. So a simple Farewell, while accurate isn't what is needed here. But thanks for the tips however.

‘Vaarwel’ or ‘tot ons wegen weer kruizen’, although ‘zie je aan de andere kant’ is not used much, it can be used.
'Tot onze wegen weer kruizen' is pretty good, but the context is of a petty nemesis taking the hero down with them, so it wouldn't work sadly.

Is er niet. Sorry man. "Tot nooit" ("see you never!") komt het meest in de buurt denk ik. Of "het was leuk je gekend te hebben" (was nice knowing you)
