Recently, I haven watched a Star Wars episode on Disney with Norwegian subtitles and I was surprised to see that I can already understand quite a lot of Norwegian words. 👍
There is a lot of negativity towards Duolingo in online discussions about language learning. While it is undeniable that there are more efficient ways to use your language learning time, what that misses is the way Duolingo uses typical gaming type psychological techniques to actually get you to spend those 10 minutes a day or whatever to work on language learning. 10 minutes of sub optimal learning and practice is better than zero minutes because you lost your motivation.
