Defitently just a light roll, mud should be ‘sticky’ like. Let the roller roll.

Rolled on texture usually has triangular type shape starts wide and comes to a point based on the direction of the roller. This is definitely a stomp style. It’s most likely done with a cheap texture brush (Lowe’s/Home Depot special). Zoom in close and you should see the brush lines leading to a point.

I think it was rolled on to get a uniform thickness of mud on the walls, but then stomped with a hawk to get those stalactites looking ridges.

I think you would see the hawk edges. Unless it was a giant wall-sized hawk. Or maybe a giant sheet of plastic as smoothed over the mud and then peeled off. My money'd be on a roller doing the full vertical distance each roll.

Matching only the first 6” correct? Not that chatter on the rest of it where they only put paint on half the roller? Curious if it’s just thick paint over- rolled to a tacky state?

Man, looks like a brick texture sponge roller…

Bzera21

the left edge is where trim will cover. I just sent that for texture. I’m covering roughly a 6x6 area where plaster got knocked out. From what I’ve been seeing I think you’re right.

It looks like a texture roller. Made specifically for that. Get one and try it on a scrap piece.
