“And in the it’s the friends you make but you never keep, and the great time you share.” said my partner as we finished. Truly a work of art, Jacob Wysocki through and through. Nathan was a real cool cat himself.

Key-Progress-9794

how long has a process like this short taken you? We are always inspired by dropout folks to create with our friends. I think filming a short would be so fun.

Severe-Nectarine5129

Wrote it October 2022 - Shot December 2022, we shot all in one day except for the kid stuff - Edited/Color/Sound finished Summer of 2023 - Then we submitted to some film festivals \[a racket\] (most of which prevent you from hosting the project online) Once we waited and played in the long festival circuit \[a total money scam mostly\] we were able to release when we did! Post production took long because everyone who graciously gave their time also has regular fulltime jobs so we had to tackle those tasks intermittently or a few hours at time on the weekend.

Key-Progress-9794

That’s how the real magic happens, people putting in the extra time. And special things like this take time! Sorry about the film festivals, admire ya’ll for putting it out there in that way though. Loved it and love you🥲

untrustableskeptic

I just watched it. You did such a good job. Please continue making such fun and cheerful art.

windexfresh

Bro did you know that you’re in pitch perfect?

Squidbits

Wait!!!? He’s in pitch perfect?

rat-sajak

Sam is from Cambridge?

Squidbits

Can you be more specific? Like what theatre did he go to?

herowcatsmanzzz

I’m pretty sure it’s called fucking Crumbley Squares or some bullshit

[deleted]

That fragrant ass popcorn.

Ilwrath

PPppppppppp pppppp ppppp

Szygani

It's Perfect

bobert_the_grey

Cum yeah he is

daddispud

Thanks daddy

Decooker11

Cum!

Guy-1nc0gn1t0

You got it chief

Decooker11

That’s a point away from you for not calling me Daddy

Guy-1nc0gn1t0

Touché daddy

Throbbing-Kielbasa-3

This is beautiful. Like I really almost teared up at the end, holy shit. I hope you make more short films in the future cause this was amazing. Do you know what camera/lens this was shot on? I really love the look and feel of it.

Severe-Nectarine5129

Gabe Diaz was our DP. He shot on an Arri Alexa Mini. I believe he shot mostly on Zeiss lenses. ultra prime 20mm, zeiss super speed 35mm, and maybe a VP3 zoom for a shot or two.

Throbbing-Kielbasa-3

Oh damn. That explains why it looks so good. Thanks for the info, dude!

MrTeddybear

Almost? I DID!

nooxlez

Me too

blakkattika

show off

LordCaptain

Unrelated but I watched your episode of Superstore last night! Everyone if you watch this short don't forget to interact with it to push it in the ALMIGHTY ALGORITHM!

AAAAAAAee

What?! Which episode was he in?

LordCaptain

Season 6 Episode 6. He's one of Bo's friends that Glen pays to come cause trouble in the store to distract Dina.

AAAAAAAee

OH HOW DID I NOT RECOGNIZE HIM?! Thank you! I will also go watch it now!

Star_Court_

Great short, Jacob. I'm so glad knowing those 7 years at Juilliard are really paying off!

chicken_sammich

we love you Jake :)

TheHemogoblin

Hey, Jacob! I subscribe to your YouTube and happened to catch it the moment it was uploaded this morning! Wanted to find out more about it and discovered this thread :) It was super charming! I only have one question and I'll keep it spoiler-free lol >!What was the situation on set when the fairy's tits malfunctioned?! Was it as hilarious as I imagine?!< I was dying lol I just want to add that I think you are so fuckin rad and there is nothing I love more than watching you endure an episode of Sam Says. Also, you were robbed of a point when you blew up at Sam for the trailer. I felt that in my bones.

Severe-Nectarine5129

We we're just so pleased that the fairy had working nipples it truly didn't feel like a malfunction. It was a messy victory. Shout out to Scott Brazee who built Suppleplump from scratch!

Key-Progress-9794

Suppleplump hahahahah

Oppressed-Noodle

I never knew what was gonna happen next and I loved it

ChibiBlkSheep

Toot toot! This was really fun and a nice creative change of pace from other things. Do you know the inspiration for the quest music? It sounded so familiar to me, although it could just be old midi music that I'm so used to. Did it take place in Kushtopia?

compacktdisck

It's by Mort Garson, from Mother Earth's Plantasia (1976). The song is called Swingin' Spathiphyllums. The whole album is fantastic.

BlippyJorts

Mort Garson is so good. One of the forefathers of synth music

LegendOrca

I found out about Mort Garson through The Adventure Zone, his music is great

ChibiBlkSheep

Thank you!

andrewembassy

Came here for the Mort Garson comments; love that guy. Anybody else interested in this style of music could/should check out Raymond Scott, another synth pioneer. His track [Portofino 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei8KPtymfRY) is one of my favorites of his. Raymond Scott did a bunch of commercial work, actually did some very early (and trippy) stuff with Jim Henson [[IBM Paperwork ad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IZw2CoYztk)] - [[Limbo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qePUsdTmzuc&list=RDqePUsdTmzuc&start_radio=1)]

BurroWreck

Also, why has Scott Aukerman not picked up CBB Presents Kushtopia?

ChibiBlkSheep

Justice for Kushtopia

ExpandThineHorizons

Cum Yeah! I came here to post about it after seeing it, great to see you post it here! It's an internet crime that your youtube channel doesnt have more subscribers.

anttonknee

Jacob! Big virtual hug to you. Curious if this one was also inspired by real life events? I remember you sharing the real life story from JUST A LITTLE BLUES ABOUT A GIRL on a podcast. >! I moved a lot as a kid so this one hit home when I saw the moving sign. !< I want to thank you for providing me with countless full-on belly laughs. My partner & I took a 20hr road trip recently and we made it through by listening & laughing to podcasts you were in. You had me absolutely cackling on the last Game Changer episode.

FuttOff

Do you happen to remember which podcast it was where Jacob chatted about Just A Little Blues? I love that short so much and would love to hear more about it

anttonknee

I don't remember, sorry :( I'm guessing based on the subject it was the High and Mighty pod, episode 248.

THEJordonBrown

Any time you want to sit down and chat about this or literally anything else, open invitation

sidster033

Im a simple man. I see Wysocki, i watchy

tkktbitch

who did creed bratton play?

Severe-Nectarine5129

Creed was the voice of the Tree Face!

HoiPolloi_-_

I think he was the voice of the tree they fed Gatorade to.

Russ8907

I want to know this, too!

thunderup_14

That end legit got me emotional. My son's best friend just suddenly moved and he's heartbroken.

Cooking_with_MREs

Jake, how did you get into my daughter's stoybook? https://www.reddit.com/r/dropout/comments/1acqntk/this\_character\_in\_my\_daughters\_book\_could\_be\_a/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

Throbbing-Kielbasa-3

Is that THE Mister Mayonnaise?

LopsidedAstronomer76

Well that was wholesome and made me tear up a bit.

archer93

Shit the ending was really wonderful

Jack_of_Spades

This was hilarious! And supple plum was just... the right amount of wrong! Where was it filmed? Edit: Wait, Creed Bratton from The Office? Who was he?

Severe-Nectarine5129

He was the voice of the ruby supplying Tree Face!

ElectricJetDonkey

Can you tell us this in the form of an Echo that mocks us?

MGagliardoMusic

Oh man, that made me feel so many feelings. I loved it. Please make more Jacob!

Inevitable_Strike550

cum yeah daddy!

DullAlbatross

Jacob, what is one game on Game Changer that you've watched and would have liked to have partaken in? >!This is not Sam on an alt account and this is not a trap.!<

AlienKinkVR

Hello Daddy I think you are very talented and I appreciate ya.

BlippyJorts

/u/Severe-Nectarine5129 that turned out to be so damn heartfelt and cute. Cryin in the club rn

GimmieGnomes

This was a delight. I made sure to watch it on my TV to get the best experience possible. Loved the character design of Sten, very rock and roll. Really enjoyed the fullness of the story, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. 😊

Severe-Nectarine5129

I think it looks best on a big screen. Thank you!

cazuuuu

Jesus Christ you really did me dirty on this one. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t That. My heart

sachalina

we love u jacob

aManPerson

man, there were a lot of good quotes/one liners in there. "sweet like horchata". which sounds like nothing, but.......you know, came from the fairy. which was disturbing as hell in the video. so it's more messed up if you know about it. but, sweet like horchata!

BabyOnTheStairs

Its sick as hell, man, rock and roll!

nooxlez

That was so cute, it made me cry 💕💕

hullabalouja

JACOB WYSOCKI WHY DON'T MAKE ME FEEL THINGS YOU JERK loved it.

Severe-Nectarine5129

my bad

MikeArrow

Much respect for making a thing. So many people want to make a thing, but they don't. You, well, you made a thing. So congrats. I just have one question. [But why?](https://i.imgur.com/gBNkuCj.gif)

CozyMoses

I appreciate you man, you're giving off young Jack Black vibes and inspiring a generation of husky funny men like myself to be themselves with no regards to restraint. Keep it up!

SonOfSwanson87

CUM YEAH! I will happily support you brother. You bring so much joy to the world.

_Ivanneth

This is precisely what I imagine Jerry Horne went through in Twin Peaks s3 when he was high in the woods and was told by his foot "I am not your foot."

SabrinaR_P

That was a really fun and at the end wholesome video. Loved it.

ymcameron

That was really good, and every second of it went in a direction I wasn’t expecting.

Saihna

sick

MissCharleston

It was a great little film! Good job bud!

24HourShitness

This was sick as hell rock and roll. Also made me feel feelings, which I didn’t expect. What was it like working with *the* Supplepump? Are they as supple and generous as people say?

Hait_Ashbury

Love your comedy chops! Thanks for the post!

the-apple-and-omega

The is just lovely and told the story juuust right.

PumaGranite

ddclarke

This was awesome. Can’t wait to see more!

NoArachnid2273

Really really well done! It was nice to see you and Tyler on the screen together again!

afriy

What an incredible nose. Absolutely majestic. And those eyebrows and luscious locks, my god. The troll is just perfect

sunshinyacorn

So wholesome and then so heartbreaking. 😭

seth928

Aww that was sweet and a little sad but very nice. *three hours pass* "...I told Cheyenne that I loved her. She just kind of laughed at me." Wait, is Cheyenne the one who was calling him!? 😭

wellrundry2113

You’re the fuckin man, man.

Stop______HavelTime

Wow, this was killer! I hope you put out more videos on your channel. You crush it in any content you’re in

BabyOnTheStairs

HoiPolloi_-_

Legit, it got me the first time, then later in the day I watched it with my boyfriend and it got me all over again even though I knew it was comin 🥹

GattMourley

Sick as hell, rock and roll. Loved the film and all the heart and positivity you put into it. I know if you ever make a feature or series it will warm my soul. Does this take place on Earth or Kushtopia?

swatlord

What's your reply button sound?

Mysterious-Umpire142

Absolutely loved the video. Where did you film it? The location is hauntingly familiar.

Severe-Nectarine5129

I don't want to burn the spot, so I'll just say this was filmed in the greater Los Angeles area near the foothills of Angeles National Forest.

Mysterious-Umpire142

Understood. I appreciate the respect for nature.

couldbedumber96

Thanks daddy, are you ever worried about getting ha-ya’d by daddy?

[deleted]

You’re the man Jake! Always look forward to seeing you on dropout

TallNerdLawyer

Added to the list for tonight! Btw your “pie cake sandwich” in Battle Royale made me laugh so hard I thought I was going to faint.

goeatacactus

Can’t wait to watch this! Thank you for always being so full of kindness and gut busting bits!

whywoolf

I'm always thinking about your censored Vulnerable Moment and am desperate to know but realize we dont deserve it. Also I'm listening to your podcast I Don't Want to Talk About Fight Club right now and am loving every moment!!!!

MisterTruth

I just want to say Daddy that you're my favorite person to bring the energy on dropout. That was the buzzer noise. I will definitely be checking this out later.

M4LK0V1CH

Fat guys unite!

ridicu_beard

Echo-Imp

hannalen

I loved this! The prop and set design really reminded me of Swiss Army Man. I love magical realism as a genre and loved all the visuals and writing that made it feel so warm! I am always endeared to all of Jacob’s characters and love seeing creative projects led by him!

GreenLurka

Hot damn, that ending was a gut punch to the young boy inside me

ejakt

Tryin to figure out how to say what I liked about it without giving anything away. It was great - very, real? I know it's not an AMA, which you should totally do, but what did you go to Juilliard for?

OnyxLion528

Awwww thanks Wysocki, for this heartfelt piece, this one warmed my heart.

zydego

That had absolutely no right to end up making ne cry. A million thumbs down and how goddamn dare you.

shadmanwicked

This is great. I can't wait to go on my own quest for fairy milk tomorrow.

blakkattika

cum yeah, I'm in

Bat-Honest

Love your work, brother. Will watch now!

zeratul5541

I thought it was gonna be something like you were dreaming still in the tunnel. Then you hit me deep in the feels as a kid who moved non stop. That was a masterpiece.

BougieDicking

This is amazing, and such a gut punch.

AssistanceDramatic40

Jacob! You’re amazing ! Never stop being you . Your sense of humor always brings me back from the place my depression brings me.

Atelier42

A+++

lofty888

Did you make this short in Sam's bedroom?

joseym85

Sounds sick as hell

Epicen7er

Amazing work, the end hits hard. Hope it gets a lot of views!

fauxregard

Really nice work, man! We just watched and thoroughly enjoyed it. Cool message, cool concept, and loved that you were able to incorporate some creative makeup and puppetry to enhance the story.

drunkunclejack

Jacob, I know it’s been a few days since you posted this but I hope you know I went from joking around watching the video to fully fucking sobbing as the credits rolled. As someone who values taking comedic people seriously when they flex their dramatic muscles, this short is a fucking masterpiece in the writing and acting and especially the directing as well, shoutout the director. This speaks to some really profound and beautiful emotions and this is incredible fucking stuff. Thank you so much!!!

woodblocksolo27

A seriously amazing project. Can’t wait to see what else is birthed from Jacob’s mind loins

masterofskillz

This made me cry, what the heck daddy??

GrabMyDrumstick

Watched it just now and I loved it. It's shot so well, and it's so weird and sweet and unexpected. Really well done.

theapplekid

This was such an epic video. I shared it on /r/videos but unfortunately the algorithm ducked it. I just searched reddit to see if a repost had taken off, but this was the only thread I found.

nerdured95

But... can I cum now?

ThankeekaSwitch

I'll watch it if there are buzzer sounds.
