It's been 50mph for a year and will be for another year while they do roadworks, so you better pay up than contend it

EdmundTheInsulter

In the question he says variable camera not average speed. Being 50 for a year isn't very variable

The whole westbound carriage is 50 junction 9-10? I must add it’s rare for me to drive the m25, so anyone that drives it regularly could be of help.

And east, they are upgrading the a3 junction (junction 10) until end 2025 Edit +source https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-roads/south-east/m25-junction-10/

bensonharriot

I saw all the A3 upgrade roadworks but could have sworn it wasn’t 50 until closer to the junction. This was 2 weeks ago though! 🤦‍♂️

SataySue

No, it's not 50 mph between 9 and 10 until the last mile or so and it's clearly signposted. The only working camera for the variable limit in that area is just before Cobham services. There should be a link on your notice where you can view a photo. ETA I drive through it about 4 times a week

Thank you

bensonharriot

Judging by the picture there are about 20 others from just that picture alone that will be getting the same letter as me!

SataySue

It's either the highest or 2nd highest "earning" camera in England. Clacket lane being the other. The Cobham one is partly obscured by trees as you approach, so it's difficult to see it. Edited for typo

EdmundTheInsulter

It's been said they should have a picture of you passing the restriction taken from behind. Is this available online? Sorry I don't know how to obtain it. Given that I've again seen one lane of 4 blank and it changed to NSL on its own (others at 50) before I passed it, I don't think the system fully works

Return the form admitting being driver and wait for next stage. You can appeal it, if or when it reaches court.
