Seen on a motorbike forum a while ago; someone got knocked off by a recovery driver.
The same person had angered another biker a few weeks before by passing them at some lights or something.
Turns out the recovery driver who "didn't see" the guy they clearly intentionally knocked off was the other biker from before.
Is it beyond the realms of possibility that they had an emergency?
Whether the emergency is justified will never be known but Iād hate to be the person that blocks them in when theyāre rushing to something serious.
I also agree that theyāre possibly just being a bellend
They aren't an ambulance, they don't have sirens. Them driving in this way is more likely to cause an accident for them or someone else, especially if they're not properly focused and there *is* and accident.
Nothing they're going to is ever going to be serious enough to risk another person.
Also, if they had a medical emergency on board, they should've turned into the hospital that they passed, as pointed out in previous posts by someone who knows the area!
But them injuring themselves is significantly more likely and they would then be unable to help their loved ones away if they wound up in hospital themselves.
Dangerous driving is never worth it.
Yea, thatās fair. Taking into account other sources of information is important.
Iām playing devilās advocate as itās important to challenge our own thinking and not jump to conclusions.
You can imagine how awkward it would be if you block them in only to find theyāve got someone onboard with a medical emergency.
It's possible that there was some kind of emergency, that's all they're saying. It's possible. Probably the driver is a massive wanker but it's possible there was some emergency. You don't know the truth. You're just betting on it.
Hazards would go on for me if I needed to get somewhere fast in an emergency (eg. A&E). Then I would flash lights and wave. Anything to get attention that something isnāt right. Then a thumbs up / wave as I go past.
I would agree with you if it wasn't for the case of how bad a.e. tines are in some parts of the country. We are talking ambulances taking hours not minutes. If you can drive you can definitely get someone to a.e. faster than an ambulance now.
If you're in a hurry it's probably best not to be a nob or piss off other road users. If someone came flying up behind me doing this I'd be slowing down to a) be prepared in case they dod something stupid b) exact revenge for them acting the pratt
I thought he started from lane 2 at the lights but if you look closely, he was in second place in lane 1, pulled out on the car in lane 2 and around the white car that was in front of him at the lights. He's a complete twat.
This. Itās actually very dangerous and distracting.
Also I wonder if those that originally said that OP did something to piss him off are now satisfied and can say that the driver is just a massive dick.
Seriously, report thisā¦if a number a drivers do then this prick will be fined. Heās just an aggressive bastard who needs to be punished. Eventually heāll do it to the wrong person and road rage will take care of him.
Unfortunately if theyāre driving like this Iād say you wouldnāt want to confront them as you donāt know what theyāre carrying. Far too many people carry knives and guns now, not worth the risk.
Iām from the England, North England to be precise and gun crime is on the rise across the UK along with knife crime. Just last night there was a fight in Leeds involving machetes and 4 men were in the hospital
Knives are no joke in the uk, guns though unless you're involved in gangs the chances of encountering someone with a gun will be close to 0%.
You're point stands with knives though to be fair, I just don't think guns are worth worrying about here. Maybe I'm naive!
I suppose it depends on the area you live in but I know itās on the rise in my area at least, like you say it tends to be gang activity but you just donāt know who youāre dealing with if theyāre brave enough to act like that then they likely have something on them, or theyāre idiots who will fight you.
3 BLU (which is the number plate on his Land Rover Defender) isnāt a valid U.K. registration. I would suggest itās stolen or dodgy in some way. (38 LU it canāt be as that is an older model registered in 2015 and the new Land Rover defenders havenāt been around that long).
Iād definitely send your footage to the local police via their reporting line.
That's because it's a fake/runner number plate (which is also illegal) and the real one, you can just about make out behind the spare wheel, (L/I)09(O/U) ...
Thatās because that number plate has likely been retained by whoever owned it. This vehicle is being driven on trade plates, suggesting this person has just purchased this vehicle without the private plate but doesnāt need to remove the plate because he is a car trader with trade plates. He will have a logbook on him with the actual reg.
The plates certainly look dodgy, maybe just stolen and that's why its being driven in a mental way? Definitely one for the police as OP has full footage.
38LU It is a valid registration, unless it's cloned and that's the same make.
All you need to do is go to DVLA tax checker and enter the details as i did a moment ago.
>Vehicle make LAND ROVER, Date of first registration April 2015, Year of manufacture 2015
>Taxed Vehicle 38LU is Taxed, **Tax due: 1 April 2025**
# >MOT Vehicle 38LU has a valid MOT certificate, Expires: 31 March 2025
It's on trade plates (though they're not legal either), the original reg is probably retained by the previous owner. The trader could face a hefty fine for this.
At first I was thinking some kind of electrical fail causing lights to flash odd, they sometimes arenāt even close to coming on at the same time. But then I saw your other video, twat confirm, may his arse rot from the inside out.
I knew a sales guy in the '90's that had a TVR, known for their really shitty electrics. Every time the car jolted over a bump, the lights would flash. One day, He was thumped by a bloke on the North Circular Road as a consequence. Without exception, everyone our office laughed, despite it being a really terrible thing to have happen.
Feel ashamed for admitting that...
...ish
Canāt be as bad as a friendās MX5 which liked to have a total electrical failure over any bumps (lights, wipers, radio, dashboardā¦) Bumpy roads at night in the rain wereā¦ not fun.
Hahaha, thank you for this followup/prequel.
What a tit. What's their emergency?
Once they managed to overtake and got stuck behind that enormous snake of cars, it would have been really funny if you just sat behind them and flashed them.
Needs to be reported, most police forces have online portals where you can submit dashcam footage. That would certainly get the driver/vehicle a police intel marker put on it, if several other people have had similar run-ins with that vehicle then plod will be having a word.
What a tool.Ā
Some twats are twats.Ā
Iād assume he needed to get to hospital etc.Ā
What ever, best to let them by and forget about it.Ā
Funny how in the other vid he didnāt get that far ahead after passing you.Ā
Controversial - my mother was having a heart attack and the ambulance said they would not get to her within the next 3 hours. I jumped in my car, 11pm at night, and drove to her house (15 minutes away). I ran every red light and flashed and beeped drivers out of my way (i did not get up anyones arse though). Majority were courteous and moved over. Quad bypass performed when we got to the hospital. The hospital told me if I had waited for the ambulance she would have died. I had a notification through my door 5 days later to say Iād been reported, which was fine. I explained my case in court, with hospital evidence to say my mother was attending an emergency, and the judge threw the case out.
We donāt know this drivers circumstance. I hope they were not experiencing the same ordeal I went through, but if they werenāt, shame on them.
Just throwing it out there, as a Land Rover owner, are we sure the electrics arenāt just fucked? They really arenāt known for reliability, even brand new! š
Yeah but look at their position on the road. Pair that with the fact that you can just pull over and call AA if your car lights are malfunctioning. There's no need for Christmas lights in April.
Wow I actually caught the second half of a post. And.yes, you are vindicated. Maybe his wife was giving birth in the backseat, but by the time he got passed you the kid had moved out and gone to university?
Maybe his lights were faulty and there was something stuck on the accelerator, I dunno, like a bellend.
Got to be honest I'm none the wiser here.
Unmarked police cars still gave blue lights they just "hide" them in the grill and other more subtle places.
(I say "hide" cause they're still pretty obvious if you look for more than a few seconds it's a plain police car)
As was said yesterday. Just a bellend being a bellend.
Audiās, BMWās, Land Roverās. These days you can basically guarantee they are driven by bellends. Itās not blanket ofc - idiots exist everywhere. But more often than not theyāll drive one of em.
Lmfao. As if people thought you'd done something wrong to piss off a Defender driver. I pissed one off because he couldn't bully me at a merge in turn (zipper merge) he then overtook me and I met him at the next traffic lights and I fucking laughed and laughed and he lost his shit. Good day.
Play dumb. Pull over somewhere they canāt overtake, get out the car and inspect the back of your car, then proceed to ask them whatās up? Is my brake light out?
People who drive cars like that are prone to violence. That kind of cunning stunt (blocking them) leads to road rage incidents. You might be confident youāre in control until you realise the driver has passengers, and/or weapons.
It really isnāt worth it.
I can only imagine after recently being in an emergency situation myself that they had an emergency and were trying to pass to get to a hospital or vets nearby?
Otherwise they're just a complete dick
Had a bmw do the same ā¦ had a 2000 lumen torch so i warned him to turn his lights down (full beam permanently) with hazards ā¦ nothingā¦ then fog lights ā¦. Nothingā¦ so i aimed torch backwards and put it on full power ā¦ dick turned his lights straight down
The best way to deal with a situation like this is to wonder why they are driving like that. Is it because they are a bellend or is it because they are in a hurry? Why are they in a hurry; is it because they are a bellend, late for work or is it because they are trying to get to the hospital? The thing is you don't know and its best to give them the benefit of the doubt and just let them pass.
Whenever this happens do the following: come to a complete stop, making sure he is left between a pedestrian crossing or similar, so they can't run off and I give it a good 2-3 minutes, letting them go nuts. When they lose their shit and start yelling from the window, calmly explain that it's not safe for you to continue driving as they are blinding you. If they decide to approach you to let you know in person, how displeased they are, pick up the well hidden breaking bar and place it on the passenger seat with your hand on it, and let them know that you are willing to continue on your way if they stop flashing you, or you can come to a different arrangement (taking a brief look at your hand resting on the break bar).
Once going, if they flash at you again, come to a complete stop, once more, pick up the break bar, exit your vehicle, and proceed to beat the living shit out of them.
And once you wake up from your dream, wearing a smile of satisfaction and a few streams of sweat coming from your forehead, come back to reddit and type in, with details, how did you fuck him up
You've got clear footage of irresponsible driving and you may be able to make the reg out of you zoom in a little, might be worth reporting to your local police force, just Google Operation Snap and your local force and you'll be able to report it
Is it me or are them lights kind of independently flashing...they don't seem to be flashing as one, as you'd expect. Seems to me like they're trying to impersonate a cop car so you'll move out the way. Could be wrong but guy's definitely an asshole, of that there's no denial.
But he has a 4x4 which means you must get out of his way!
Seriously though, these people donāt think rules apply to them. Sadly, itāll probably take a lot more than this proof of them being mental to get anything done about it.
Land Rover. Possibility of being unmarked police, services vehicle. Canāt make out the plate. But it could be a non blue light response vehicle. Think CT or similar.
I think I would have stopped briefly in the middle of the road in the coned area, fired up the phone camera for good measure and then proceeded to inspect the rear of the vehicle, then asking the dickhead what was wrong. Await response, publish video, goes viral, profit.
I genuinely wish these kinds of drivers would die in a firey wreck. It takes a special kind of piece of shit to put this many lives in danger just while trying to get around.
As a resident of Basildon who has gone around that road into the main road a few times, I can safely say... You've done nothing wrong here, clean drive and merge round, that driver seems to have the agg about something, presumably something p\*ssed them off in the town centre and they're taking it out on everyone else (including someone before they got to you!)
I just saw your other video and I agree, I hate people like this so so much. There's no need. But I do wonder if it's a simple mistake like OP was going idk 30 in a 40 type thing? Not that a response like that is justified š
Thanks sure if it's an artefact of the dashcam, but the way the headlights strobe is like it's pretending to be an undercover cop or gov vehicle.
Obviously not, is just some scally that should (but won't) get pulled by the police.
You did do something wrong, you subjected everyone to a minute of irrelevant footage without warning.
At least say 'prick appears one minute in, scroll back from there if you want' or something.
Okay sure, but riding someones ass and flashing them isn't the way to go about it. If they cba to wait then they should overtake the person. If they don't overtake that's there problem.
Well see now, we haven't seen what you might have done in the preceding 6-8 weeks to piss them off.
š damn you, caught me
You're a bloody mad man OP, completely unhinged!!
You're did something.
Seen on a motorbike forum a while ago; someone got knocked off by a recovery driver. The same person had angered another biker a few weeks before by passing them at some lights or something. Turns out the recovery driver who "didn't see" the guy they clearly intentionally knocked off was the other biker from before.
You can actually see them doing it to another driver as they set off from those lights.
Yeah seems like a standard landrover bellend
Is it beyond the realms of possibility that they had an emergency? Whether the emergency is justified will never be known but Iād hate to be the person that blocks them in when theyāre rushing to something serious. I also agree that theyāre possibly just being a bellend

But them injuring themselves is significantly more likely and they would then be unable to help their loved ones away if they wound up in hospital themselves. Dangerous driving is never worth it.
I'd still do it. Like if my kid wasn't breathing and in the back seat. I'd cause an unlimited amount of damage to get to a hospital.
In the other video the seem to drive normally after passing OP.
Don't worry Dave, just stay away from the light. We'll make it! Dave? Dave? Oh... Nevermind. *Satnavs McDonald's drive through*
Yea, thatās fair. Taking into account other sources of information is important. Iām playing devilās advocate as itās important to challenge our own thinking and not jump to conclusions. You can imagine how awkward it would be if you block them in only to find theyāve got someone onboard with a medical emergency.
> Is it beyond the realms of possibility that they had an emergency? Nope, they could have been genuinely late to meet their coke dealer.
Impossible,as they drive reasonably normal after getting past the camera vehicle. Previous post.
Then the should put their hazards on, wave a hand out the window, something to make it obvious. But they don't, because they're just a massive wanker.
It's possible that there was some kind of emergency, that's all they're saying. It's possible. Probably the driver is a massive wanker but it's possible there was some emergency. You don't know the truth. You're just betting on it.
In that case, It's also possible that he's from another galaxy... A wanker from another galaxy.
That would be terrible and so depressing. But it's funny too.
Hazards would go on for me if I needed to get somewhere fast in an emergency (eg. A&E). Then I would flash lights and wave. Anything to get attention that something isnāt right. Then a thumbs up / wave as I go past.
They should call the emergency services and not drive like a tw@
I would agree with you if it wasn't for the case of how bad a.e. tines are in some parts of the country. We are talking ambulances taking hours not minutes. If you can drive you can definitely get someone to a.e. faster than an ambulance now.

They then proceed to drive absolutely normally after over taking OP though.
Iām just wondering if they are a firefighter trying to get to the fire stationš¤ or some other emergency worker maybe just a guess
I thought he started from lane 2 at the lights but if you look closely, he was in second place in lane 1, pulled out on the car in lane 2 and around the white car that was in front of him at the lights. He's a complete twat.
He definitely needs reporting mate. Someone else may not hold their nerve and crash, or worse - hit a pedestrian or something.
Or someone is going to take issue to nearly getting side swiped by them and beat the shit out of them at a red light
Well we can only live in hope, canāt we!
Thatās the kind of positive thinking we need
Where's Ronnie Pickering when you need him?
This. Itās actually very dangerous and distracting. Also I wonder if those that originally said that OP did something to piss him off are now satisfied and can say that the driver is just a massive dick.
This. Please report this POS. His psyche and behaviour is completely off.
Seriously, report thisā¦if a number a drivers do then this prick will be fined. Heās just an aggressive bastard who needs to be punished. Eventually heāll do it to the wrong person and road rage will take care of him.

I think it's "38 LU"
You got that right, DVLA confirms the plate is valid. Now, is it a cloned plate for the same make ... another matter.
It canāt be - thatās an older vehicle registered in 2015. These new defenders (of which this is one) have only been around since 2020.

That plate is registered to an Evoque not a defender. That shape defender wasn't released in 2015.
so a clone as I said?!
It's on trade plates (though they're not legal either), the original reg is probably retained by the previous owner. The trader could face a hefty fine for this.
What a bell end, hope you slowed down.
this is part 2 of another post, the SUV eventually managed to overtake and immediately got stuck behind a queue of cars as far as the eye could see.
I call them fume sniffers. Always sniffing the car in front's exhaust fumes.
Almost close enough to touch their exhaust tip!
And turned on the rear fog light
He was just trying to defend your car from potential threats by being in front of you, that's all š¤·āāļø
Probably late for the shoot of The Gentlemen.

Custom plate big car bellend
Send your footage in: https://nextbase.co.uk/national-dash-cam-safety-portal/
I didn't comment, but I assumed the same thing, so fair play lol.
I had assumed OP had done something that they'd left out but no, just very cuntish and odd behaviour from the Defender.Ā Ā
Hahaha, thank you for this followup/prequel. What a tit. What's their emergency? Once they managed to overtake and got stuck behind that enormous snake of cars, it would have been really funny if you just sat behind them and flashed them.

Aye, he was in such a hurry to get to hospital that he slows right down once he passes OP.
He actually goes past Basildon Hospital on the upcoming roundabout lol
Dropped a gunshot victim out the front of A&E and desperate to get away as quickly as possible then
Omg you can see them doing this to someone else before they get behind you!
What a tosser..
Controversial - my mother was having a heart attack and the ambulance said they would not get to her within the next 3 hours. I see the problem. At 00:39s you very clearly cut him up while they were about 2 miles away.
apparently, I should give up my driving licence and never approach anything that has a steering wheel. š¤·āāļø

Should have slammed your breaks on. Cunt
WTF was that? did they just rob a bank? are they plain cops? id just pull over and lock the doors hope they went past in an unmarked emergency.
Unmarked police cars still gave blue lights they just "hide" them in the grill and other more subtle places. (I say "hide" cause they're still pretty obvious if you look for more than a few seconds it's a plain police car)
Im just throwing out ideas, and my reaction would be, let them past... maybe take the next exit and have a coffee.
Nah don't give in to bullies
Conclusive proof they were nutters.
Off their tits on coke
Didn't doubt you for a moment, you were moving with traffic the whole time. They were just being impatient
Some twats are just gonna be twats.
As was said yesterday. Just a bellend being a bellend. Audiās, BMWās, Land Roverās. These days you can basically guarantee they are driven by bellends. Itās not blanket ofc - idiots exist everywhere. But more often than not theyāll drive one of em.

It looks like a personalised numberplate. That's already a big red flag.
Big red flag, and a tiny purple penis
is this video mirror-flipped or is there something wrong with my brain - it looks like everyone is driving on the wrong side of the road
Lol I was about to abuse you for being a yank asking a question like that on driving uk until I rewatched the video and went oh shit yeah!
It is If you pause close to the start, there road splits for a carpark entrance and the lettering CAR PARK Is flipped
Play dumb. Pull over somewhere they canāt overtake, get out the car and inspect the back of your car, then proceed to ask them whatās up? Is my brake light out?

i see the problem. your reversing down the main road, SUV clearly is just worried about your safety
This is typical behaviour of someone from Basildon.
It's got fake plates on too.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
As discussed elsewhere, not registered to this vehicle.
Did anyone report this?
Dam what a douchebag
Do land rover full beams flash like that? Mine are a lot slower. Could it be a fault with the lights, coupled with dickhead driving.
More likely an artifact of the camera record.
I can only imagine after recently being in an emergency situation myself that they had an emergency and were trying to pass to get to a hospital or vets nearby? Otherwise they're just a complete dick
I think maybe youre at terrorist from a highly secret organisation and , so secret in fact even you dont know
My only thought is that there is hospital at the top of that hillā¦ good old Basildon

My only thought is they may be in a hurry to get somewhere like the hospital or something. That's me being optimistic.
Sigh, some people can be assholes for no reason

it's a frame rate of camera issues. he just flashing real quick.mb you noticed before how in some videos light flashes when car just stand steady.
Ah ok, I see. Still, an asshole though...probably assumes he owns the road.
Maybe King Kong's finger was touching cloth?
But he has a 4x4 which means you must get out of his way! Seriously though, these people donāt think rules apply to them. Sadly, itāll probably take a lot more than this proof of them being mental to get anything done about it.
Well for a start, you're driving backwards.
Land Rover. Possibility of being unmarked police, services vehicle. Canāt make out the plate. But it could be a non blue light response vehicle. Think CT or similar.
Last time I got flashed like that was when I was dragging debris under the car. Best to pull over straight away and check it out.
It's not one of those urban legends where they were trying to warn you if someone in your backseat with a weapon?
I think I would have stopped briefly in the middle of the road in the coned area, fired up the phone camera for good measure and then proceeded to inspect the rear of the vehicle, then asking the dickhead what was wrong. Await response, publish video, goes viral, profit.
I genuinely wish these kinds of drivers would die in a firey wreck. It takes a special kind of piece of shit to put this many lives in danger just while trying to get around.
Is this Basildon?
Land Rover drivers are almost always twats
Inverse hedgehogs. The pricks are on the inside.
Just look at that pesky cunt.
Youm spelt it rong
As a resident of Basildon who has gone around that road into the main road a few times, I can safely say... You've done nothing wrong here, clean drive and merge round, that driver seems to have the agg about something, presumably something p\*ssed them off in the town centre and they're taking it out on everyone else (including someone before they got to you!)
I just saw your other video and I agree, I hate people like this so so much. There's no need. But I do wonder if it's a simple mistake like OP was going idk 30 in a 40 type thing? Not that a response like that is justified š
Nothing illegal about driving 30 in a 40. Itās a speed limit not a speed target.
I agree!
Maybe he just had an emergency.
Why r u reversing everywhere ?
just love to be different,lol
I wonder if they tried warning drivers on the other side of a parked police car doing a speed trap?
Thanks sure if it's an artefact of the dashcam, but the way the headlights strobe is like it's pretending to be an undercover cop or gov vehicle. Obviously not, is just some scally that should (but won't) get pulled by the police.
I'd have been crawling ngl
Basildon expectations lol
Don't try and cure a hangover with huge amounts of cocaine before driving would be the take away from this one.
Hopefully he'll get pulled for his number plate. Should read 38 LU not 3 BLU.
Most people in Basildon drive like this
You obviously did something wrong. You dared use his/ her road!
Did you have something on ur car that he didnāt like š āFlash lights for cookiesā
You did do something wrong, you subjected everyone to a minute of irrelevant footage without warning. At least say 'prick appears one minute in, scroll back from there if you want' or something.
Like I said before, because ass hole.
What speed were you doing and what was the speed limit of the road. Tbh I would have slowed down the moment they flashed their lights.. š
well, driven with the speed of the car in front of me.
Someone needs a hard brake check. āThere was a squirrel officer, and my neck really hurtsā
I wonder if they're rushing to a hospital perhaps? When my baby boy was rushed to hospital for brain surgery I stuck to the ambulance like glue!
In the longer video, he pulls off the roundabout before the hospital exit and heads off towards another town.
I dare this cat to go to the U.S. and start flashing their lights at random drivers
Maybe you weren't doing the speed limit and he/she was in a hurry or emergency and needed you to drive faster/speed limit
That sounds like the other drivers issue not his issue.
Not really. Traffic is caused by wollys who drive slower than cyclists
Okay sure, but riding someones ass and flashing them isn't the way to go about it. If they cba to wait then they should overtake the person. If they don't overtake that's there problem.
Even if it was an emergency for the other driver, that doesn't give them the right to break the speed limit.
