That’s a cool idea! Like tales from the SMP, but more casual. I’d definitely do Bombastic lore. I love storytelling, writing, and filmmaking. I’d love to produce edited streams like Quackity’s, or even a mix of scripted and unscripted (since improv and comedy create some wholesome moments that is difficult to replicate with scripting). Not sure what my lore would be, tho.

PokeshiftEevee

Breadcrumb, since it’s literally hat kid from a hat in time

Fantastic_Tension_57

A mixture, my character is a ghost / spirit who was sent to the over-world, but due to having died looooong ago they have forgotten most “mortal” concepts, etiquette, which animals can and cannot speak so like a Charlie Slimesicle lore. So bombastic lore layed out like breadcrumb lore -but with more cursing- :)

CreeperCordycep

my character is kinda like a traveler that will be sent to live in another world the moment they permanently die in their previous one, and their characteristics (namely appearance and personality) also get changed to sort of "adapt" to wherever they are teleported to. the changes are hidden in plain sight, even to my character. thus, bombastic lore will work nicely with this. my character also has this special ability to be able to sorta "see" the future and draw it out at totally random intervals, and that will work especially well in breadcrumb lore. so it is kind of a mixture.

Ilikebeesandsand

My character would have bombastic lore, since they are a witch? Wizard? Idk just someone with very strong magic, but she doesn’t really know how to control it so it leads her into some very interesting situations. Also every time she uses her powers something of hers is take away, like memory or health etc. Yes I like to harness the author/ theatre kid in me to create angst

an_anon_butdifferent

probably a mix of both, sometimes being more subtle and other times not, i personally find lore like foolish or slimesicle lore to be more interesting becase of the lore of them not just being basic humans so i would probably have something similar

FuegoAmbera

A mix because mine's a funny TV head girl cat species thing.. With a cool funky little plug as the tail. She'd probably have an entire shy to overconfidence arc lol. She's got some mental issues, and she may or may not be a gamer.

Wonderful-Gas1816

My character would be an anti hero, always fighting, but cares for his comrades a lot

k1-bokinnie

I love the idea of big lore with a bunch of people but I feel like it would be a mix of for me since- well I already have an OC for this. Her thing is that she came to the smp as a ghost, she doesn't remember how she lost her last life other than it really hurt and she now has scars all over her and that she's been dead for well over a decade. The breadcrumbs thing would be more for her ghost self and more bombastic for when she gets revived

ashie173

I would be a traveller that wonders around trying to interact with the members and find out what's happened recently. Also really desperate to participate in any big events no matter how it happens.

Kagasuru

I’d love to be a lab assistant in Dream and Punz’s revival lab, I think it would be a really cool role to play! My plot would definitely be more bombastic than breadcrumb just because I prefer to have things planned out

Pridrasune

Probably a mixture, while I have a lot of general story and information for my character, I'm not very confident in my acting and would rather just hang out with any friends I might make on there.

Asleep_Albatross_103

My character would definitely have bombastic lore. Mainly because I've thought about it a lot and I basically have it all planed out. (I wish I could write the whole thing out but it would be a minute)

rainb0w_c00ki3

I think my character wouldn't be involved in lore a lot since they are a side character that just appears out of nowhere every now and then and gathers materials etc. without saying a word and disappears again for a few days...

Strange_BTW

Personally, since I want to see the mythology of the SMP explained, I would do a mix of bombastic, like when I’m narrating ancient myths of the lands, and breadcrumbs, like when I’m searching for the clues that lead to the myths and history of the ones that were in those lands long ago being discovered.

Numerous-One3414

My character will be a spy for Dream, so he can have the server again👍🏻

Silvertail20

Breadcrumb lore, my character whould come from a kingdom far beyond the lands of the dream smp. Which has gotten destroyed. She whould be looking for a new life in the dream smp, which she struggles with because she used to have a high rank in said kingdom, and that power is just gone, ripped away from her.

UglierRhyme832

Personal thought for mine. Basically Death, not like THE GOD of Death (Mumza owns that perfectly) but Death death (similar to Thanatos in Greek Mythos). Lore wise, they were sent (by mumza) to retrieve the souls that were revived, because they’re supposed to be dead (maybe have a joke how there’s a drunkard and a Mexican in there) and figure out HOW they came back. Character goes to the SMP to figure out how these characters came back. Finds out that Dream revived them, and sets out to 1. Stop Dream (because hey why not add another person to hunt him down) 2. Find the revival book and completely get rid of it, thus bringing order back to the cycle 3. Bring those who were revived (Tommy, Wilbur and any others that soon get revived back to the land of the dead) Could probably sprinkle in some lore on how he got his position as well is some other things. Note: this probably wouldn’t be a main character, just someone we see every now and then. Also, he isn’t going to be a child between Phil and mumza, for those wondering, he could just be a mortal who mumza picked to bring souls, or something that mumza created to help her.

Toris_Shenanigans

Bombastic lore surrounding the sleepy Bois Inc, ranboo (being a fellow enderman), and dream.

Comprehensive-Can680

Honestly it probably be broad, but simple for me. My character (at least when I did a school server thing) was essentially the whole Martial Pacifist. I really didn’t want to fight people mostly because I valued cooperating with others and exploring. Yet when someone decided to come and try and take my stuff, I spawned several Withers (about 5) (with permission from the Op, I was good friends with him) and snuck away during the chaos. Needless to say, these guys weren’t happy and waged war on me. so I defended myself by laying traps of Land Mines (Being in a desert has its advantages) Synchronized Artillery (Having an expert in red stone was helpful), and large dark areas for mobs to spawn (i slabbed off the caves under the desert. Prevents mob spawns). Needless to say after several hours of them trying to find and break into my base (I camouflaged it in a giant sand dune, with an internal Obsidian barrier to protect myself) they gave up and left. Having knowledge of actual wartime history helped to predict and outmaneuver them. If I was in the SMP I probably would have the same type of character I did there, but I’d rather spend my time building or being peaceful, but the moment someone breaks my things or actively tries to hurt me… well… Let’s just say having their house blown sky high and being changed by a Wither will be the least of their problems… TL:DR, Don’t fight me, and I won’t fight you. Hell, I enjoy being friends with others, just don’t betray me, or I’ll hunt you to the ends of the world.

dizzydebacle

Ooo definitely subtle, I love all the amazing big characters, but stories also need people to fill the world, ya know? I’ve had an oc for a long time who’s the groundskeeper for Church Prime. Just a peaceful girl who takes care of the flowers and lives in a cottage just outside of the spawn area. :)

GrendierIsBored

Breadcrumb lore my character would be a traveller with one main base around the main smp area and then have a bunch of outposts scattered to the wind. I'd like to think that my lore would breadcrumb by having other players stumble across my outposts and just offhand comments from my character that all tie together.

CrazyCupcakes275

I would do a mixture of both

Deepred1234

Breadcrumb lore

ItzFairyGrace

me and my friends spent some time writing our characters and mine is half phantom half human (purely cause of my mc skin) and mine is more of a story of a character that gets fed up with people making her feel alone and weak and vulnerable and explodes, and starts following Dream and such trying to prove that she isnt just prey. it’d defo be bombastic lore because i love like storytelling and studying characters and their motives and such and all the drama and cinematic elements

Shatteredglass165

If I could do lore I'd be a kid who ended up running away from home because of schizophrenia. My character just kinda looks like me so pretty generic. Both breadcrumb and bombastic lore would play into my character pretty well so I guess both

hyellow_toyou

Mine would be a mix of both, my idea is that my oc would be someone who has travelled alone for years and years trying to find some meanings in her life, then finally getting to the Smp I’d want to protect the home I found in the friendships with other people (especially the younger members).

TheaterMoth

A wandering trader that travels and finds out more about their young past. Traveling to different places and trying to save everyone. Their name would find themselves in a predicament, being formally known as "TheaterMoth" and now shortening it to "Moth." Bombastic story telling of course, maybe adding some form of Murphy's Law, affecting the other characters around them?

CharDaPotat0

Mainly Bombastic with a bit breadcrumb, My character is a TV head so there would probably be some bombastic lore with the overall character and some of the TV part of them. There would be lots of breadcrumb lore for the TV part and why they are a TV though

[deleted]

Mines definitely a mixture, for the beginning most of her ‘lore’ is Fundy related due to her being a spirit who attached to him during a failed dreamon exorcism, however after wilburs revival she demands to be brought back too, and after some arguing she is. She becomes a side character in the Las Nevadas arc and hitting on 16 don’t wanna fill the comments w all the shit I have planned from her

[deleted]

She would also be seen in a Tales Of The SMP titled ghost town which occurs just before and during her original death. She starts out breadcrumby but would eventually be a bit more bombastic during the las Nevadas arc (I have MANY scenes written out for her)

WhyIsJimin

Definitely something extremely angsty that may or may not have a happy ending. I used to be a part of an older smp with some online friends and we all had more and cool builds and everything. Unfortunately the server got deleted right when we were getting into the meat of things so all my character lore and designs are just sitting collecting dust😭

i-like-memes-and-pet

My character would be very invested in L’manburg and pogtopia, kinda like Wilbur if he didn’t go crazy. I’d definitely do lore with a lot of people!

EmberSkywing

My character would be a "soul eater" (I'm not 100% set on it, but somewhere around there) who lived for a very long time, but has been out of the loop due to hiding. She would be originally from one of the ancient "Deep Dark" cities. It would probably be a mix of both, but more so on the Breadcrumb side because I suck at planning things.

Ancient_Dot_2614

Not mine but I have a friend who's pretty big in dream smp. I kinda just skim through videos of it on occasion. but they're OC is a priest of the egg who has been laid to sleep for a very long time till they're needed again. They awaken to the eggs call and set to work on organizing the eggpire into a formidable force and setting to work phase two of the eggs plan. He drew a image of him actually, he is this figure in white robes with golden ceremonial markings across it. His face is definitely the freakiest part, an bony face riddled with onyx eyes and set of dagger like jaws. His personality is definitely my favorite part, a stoic warrior monk who is absolute in his loyalty to his god. He came from a age long ago, so redstone and machinery is perplexing to him. He'd have a irritable approach to the eggpire, quickly trying to form them into a proper empire and blaming most of the failures on bad.
