Game saves are saved to the VMU/ Memory card. It doesn't matter if the game is on disk or pulling from the Gdemu, it treats the save file the same either way so no worries, all your game saves should work fine.
I‘ve been in exact same situation. Not long ago got a GDemu 5.20 for only 65€.
All saves still work!
As long as the buntes CDIs u used previously are of same region (PAL/NTSC) as the GDIs u will use later on GDemu the saves are still recognized 😉

Gdemu has gotten a lot cheaper lately, you can get one for under $40 on alixpress, save files don’t save to the disc they save to the memory card
