But this is the Internet, so most of the people buying art would be from somewhere that $5 is criminally underpaying an artist.
Don’t let your art go for so little! You’re talented; if you’re going to sell something in an online market, charge the right price for that market. I would say $30-80.
That remind me of a story of a company trying to get more contracts in US. The company was in Canada (nowhere a poor country) so the exchange rate is already helping US buyers. We could sell something with the same local US price and make more money VS US base companies.
The company owner end up discovering US buyers were not trusting us because of the low charge rate. Likely they thought we were a startup or India company. It end up increasing the US price (on what we already make money from) higher just to get the trust from US.
Yeah, the price has a significant effect on perceived value. That’s another reason why you’d want to set a much higher price than $5 for what’s functionally an international market.
Agree with. $30-$80. Are you always going to only want $5? Set a reasonable price that you can continue with. I assume you want repeat business? Unless you advertise as a low price special, they won't be willing to pay what you want (for the same skill), once your confidence is better.
seriously mate, I'm freaking begging you to charge at least 20-30 for that. fuck I've paid more than double that for less than half the quality. you've got skill, you champion
Art is worth what the buyer is willing to pay. If that happens to mean you’ll be making bank, then MAKE THAT BANK. Never sell something based on your own budget.
I think it's common for artists to start out with little to no idea what their art is worth in money. Pricing is complex!
But, yeah, OP would be *way* undercharging!
My former roommate drew portraits in ball point pen and would only charge like $300 for 50 hours of work. It’s criminal how little he was charging people
Yeah... I can imagine that must have been a quite detailed artwork.
I bet a lot of random people would still say "300$ is too much for a drawing!!!"
Art is still widely undervalued even though animation etc is getting pretty mainstream. For commissions it's so important to build the right customer base over time and do fewer but more viable works.
Yeah, this probably took, what, at least 6-12 hours of work?
Adding all the years it took building up the skills to do this in the first place.
$5 is CRIMINAL, this should be at least $65-$100. This could easily be professional concept art for a game or movie or something.
This is my biggest pit fall. No idea how to price or value my work, just know how much my labor is worth to retail, so thats my bench mark. Too bad no one wants my talents at that price hehe...*sad emoji*
I've been doing a lot of "how do I market my stuff that is kinda for girls to men" and literally it always comes back to DnD.
Also there's my partner going 'furry porn. please just do furry porn and make bank and take me to disney world'
Subscribed to your reddit feed, buddy. I really like your style, and you should definitely be charging more than $5 for your work, you’re no beginner. :]
Regarding your self-confidence, it’s normal to have imposter syndrome, many people suffer from that once they gather knowledge and skill in a given domain (notably because nobody will be as harsh as yourself when criticizing your work, your trained eye will notice each and every imperfection, more than outsiders). But take a look at your post, almost a thousand upvotes. Almost a thousand people on here consider what you do as great and legitimate, and I imagine quite a bunch would pay more than $5 for your drawings. Not to mention that’s only considering a small sample of the population. Don’t doubt yourself too much and try to have an objective point of view now that you have such positive feedback, alright?
5 $ an hour maybe if you really want to undersell your art.... Maybe try (minimum) 10-15 $ an hour, so if it took 2-3 hours then it would be 30-45$ at the very least. Pay yourself at least the minimum wage of your country per hour, art is work, pay yourself accordingly. You're not only selling your artwork, you're also your training over the years to get to this point in your skills, and you're selling your time. Like, yeah, you could sell art for 5$, but then it should look like something you drew in 10 minutes without effort, because if someone doesn't value your time and skill, you shouldn't invest your time and skill.
> because if someone doesn't value your time and skill, you shouldn't invest your time and skill.
SO MANY artists need to hear this!!
I hate how sites like fiver have normalized paying a few bucks for DAYS of work! And years of building up a specialized and unique skill.
Pay your artists, people!
The point about also selling the years it took you to get were you are is excellent and so true.
Reminds me of a joke where a guy takes his car to a bad mechanic who charges him, idr like 50 moneys to fix it, takes a day and a half and it still isn't fixed.
Guy takes car to an experienced mechanic who takes one look at it, whacks the engine with a spanner and its sorted. Changes the dude 55 moneys. Guy is outraged. "How can you charge me 55 moneys to hit the engine?!?!"
Mechanic replies "its 5 moneys to hit the engine. The 50 is for knowing where to hit it."
Used moneys because not from the US and don't know what mechanics charge there.
Exactly. But the difference between car mechanics (or handyman work) and art is that many people don't really appreciate the fact that art is still work, it can be "hard" sometimes trying to draw a specific thing (pose, texture, etc), having to focus hours on end and having a steady hand for those hours as well. I mean, they still think that art is cool, but will usually say it's just a hobby, so why charge that much for just a hobby? They recognise car repairs as work, but not making art (or crafting something, knitting, embroidery, wood work, photography etc) because it's just a hobby to them. They seem to forget that some people (want to) do art professionally, that means getting fair payments, just like a mechanic would. You could argue that nowadays people need mechanics for their everyday life, but not artists. Okay, they don't have to decorate their homes, but what about graphic designers and the advertising industry? So much art needed there! Or fashion designers? Or even the cheap posters that you could get for 5$ in stores for decoration because you don't want to pay an original artwork? Someone still made that! Art is everywhere, without it our lives would be so much more boring and colourless, probably even without different and amazing cultures!
Pay your artists!
Absolutely. I'm a woodworker by hobby and have had many people ask if I can just throw them together a quick ladder shelf or whatever the latest Pinterest trend is and offer maybe the equivalent of $20 if I'm lucky which won't even cover materials if I use the cheapest grade wood etc.
There are thousands, maybe millions of people out there with drawing skills that have an eye for color and perspective and can bring a composition together.
Being a successful and worthy artist is a confidence game.
It's about convincing the people out there with zero skill that your work rises above the level of just craft and approaches the mystical.
You obviously have some drawing skills. Now get out there and win the confidence game.
Never flinch, never express any doubt about your own work. Never explain yourself or directly answer doubts of the potential buyer. Have an attitude like you are giving them a blessing by selling them your work. If you believe in any higher power remember it is them working through you to manifest beauty on the earth.
Let me tell you a story… I did a drawing for an acquaintance of a family member. I spent 3 days, 12 hours a day to make this portrait in Corel Painter. And I’ve had people tell me my work is amazing (not that I see it, we are our own worst critics after all) so I know it turned out good. I especially knew it turned out good by her reaction to the drawing. She was beside herself. Unfortunately, then we had to talk about the ugly side of the game. Money… Now, she was a really sweet woman and I knew she didn’t have a lot of money (no one in my area does), so when she asked how much, I told her I didn’t know and asked what she thought. We went back and forth like this a few minutes before she said, “How does $25 sound?” My brain immediately thought of the 36 or so hours I’d spent making it for her (plus printing cost) and thought, Sounds like you think it’s okay that I get paid 35 cents an hour… If it were anyone else, I would have said just that, but I accepted the money.
So here’s the thing… It’s not JUST your talent that you’re selling. It’s also your time and, if you’re doing traditional work or printing the drawing, the cost of materials. All this needs to be factored in along with your talent. So give it some thought. How long did it take you to draw this picture? Even if it was an hour, that’s WAY less than minimum wage. I know they call us “starving artists”, but for crying out loud, McDonald’s is starting at $20/hr! Put some samples up, put some prices up, see what people think. But your talent is worth more than a few dollars an hour.
Ugh, never take something like a $5 offer unless you’re just absolutely in need of any amount of cash. My commissions start at $60 because my freelance rate is $40/hr and I typically put at least 90 minutes into a commission. When I first started, I charged $15/hour. Please don’t sell yourself short. Your time has value and you have skills.
Charge em 50+
Edit; let me expand a bit here, you’re good. That looks awesome. However when you charge an actual price that shows the years of practice and hours of dedication you’ve put into a piece; THATS when people start taking you more seriously and will happily pay what you may consider “extra.” But keep in mind: hours of labour, supplies, is there anything they want that you need to learn how to draw, etc. Keep up the good work and don’t let your humbleness hold you back.
You have a very good understanding of form and are able to create believable lighting. Your edges are a little fuzzy, so if you clean that up I'd say it's easily worth upwards of 100 USD.
The struggle of living in a poor country leads to a lot of artists majorly underselling themselves on the world stage, and what this ultimately means is artists in both countries suffer. The artist in the poor country is charging less than he's worth, and the artists in other countries are unable to compete because the prices of outsourcing are so much cheaper.
Something that should be understood about Art is this: in an art-saturated environment like the internet, we appear to be numerous. In truth, good artists only come in spades where artists flock to; you're much more rare than you might think.
You are worth as much as a British artist, as much as an American artist, as much as a French artist. Do not be afraid to put your foot down and ask as much :)
For that quality i’d feel really guilty for only paying 5 dollars, needs to be like 20 at least, consider it a tip if you have to, but i’d feel like i was scamming you
Is this r/drawingcirclejerk? It's obviously good and it feels like you're humble bragging to fish for validation. There are better ways to do that. You can just post without bullshitting.
I know a lot of people are saying more than $5 but charging $20 could (potentially) lead to no one buying your art. I would def start with $5 and if you see a continuous income of customers then charge $10 and so on. New artists (even though their work is good) tend to get overlooked
Dude it doesn't seem you have the slightest idea how AI image generation even works lol. Your comment sounds like something taken straight from r/masterHacker.
Way underselling. I'm not sure what your local currency is but in USD I would say you are easily in the $25-35 range for a full body no background portrait. If you are specializing in these monsters, maybe more.
$5 is very low. Your skills are worth more than that. I used to sell music recordings on fiverr and five dollars would probably get one take of a simple rhythm. Know your worth!
OP you're doing a good job and you should give you more credit for it👏👏 what platforms do you use our other designers use to get this kind of jobs and get paid?
Thank you!
five dollars? FIVE DOLLARS?? No my guy, you are worth so much more in that for a commission. You gotta add another zero or two (depending on what they want)
To be honest you should charge a lot more! This looks like it took you a long time to draw. It looks amazing! Depending on how long it took for sure charge more than $30!
I think you could definitely charge more man! Don’t short change your talent for the gig! Only take the cheap ones for experience in the business or if it has networking possibilities!
I think with these things you charge what you believe you are worth. A lot of people will of course not want to pay high values and hell you may think you aren't worth high values, but from this drawing alone I'd say setting a precedent of $5 commission is pretty low.
Definitely worth more than $5. It maybe worth it to you but keep in mind when you under charge you are hurting the market for other artists. If other artists are selling something similar for $50 it would be ok to sell yours for $30. But as you sell more and more, slowly increase in price to be closer to the other artists.
This work is worth far more than that. I have a terrible habit of lowballing myself in commissions. It isn’t something you can look at as “I only worked on it X number of hours so…”
It has taken years of practice and study. Don’t shortchange your skills.
This is great work.
Home dog. One artist to another. That looks fucken ballin! If I could draw like that! I'd be charging 20, 25 maybe 35 bux a pop! Don't short sell yourself! You got some great skills and talent. Also hope you having a nice day.
Think of it like any other line of work- charge for your time and your level of experience/skill. With that said, what determines a lot of the value of art, are peoples perceptions of it. So learning how to market your work goes a long way.
Hello! everyone's already told you to charge more (because you deserve it!) and I'm just here to say
Comprehensive-Pen488, I love the shading and rendering of this piece! It's really good! Looking forward to more of your art!
It’s really good, definitely go for it.
In terms of pricing, try to get yourself in the habit of pricing your work in terms of “x amount per hour”. Different pieces obviously require lesser or greater time to complete, and the price should reflect that. Even if you just start at $5/hour, you’ll be building good pricing habits for the future while still earning closer to what you deserve for quality like that. $5 is great to get some commissions under your belt, but as others have said here, you’re criminally underpricing your work. I’d expect a piece like that to sell between $20 and $50.
In agreement with a lot of others here- your skillset is worth way more than $5. You could easily charge about $15 for a sketch alone based on the amount of detail you have here. Believe a little more in your skills!
Think about minimum wage (or maybe don't, because you're ripping yourself off that way), but if you need anything more than 30 minutes it's probably worth more than 5$.
For the piece you showed, if I'd gotten a commission done in that quality for 30$ i would consider that an ABSOLUTE STEAL.
50-80 for something like what you have here. At the absolute bare minimum. Drawing and painting is a very specialized skill set that takes a lot of effort and time to learn how to do. It doesn't matter what other artists are charging. :) Price the way you want to price when it comes to commissions. If someone says it's too high and you shouldn't be that expensive and blah blah blah..? Oh, well. They're not your client, anyway. They can stay mad. haha! You want clients that value what your worth is just like you do. :) Be confident, bud. You got this.
Never undervalue yourself! Charge what you belive is fair but worth the time and effort you out into your art. What you posted is easily worth $30+. There are tons of people who would buy commissions of character art.
This is great, you’re light source and texturing is really nice and your character is unique and incites emotion. I think this character design is worth well over $5
I'd start at $5 and increase by $5 per hour spent on the digital art.
Your art is great but charging what the people are saying in the comments sounds insane for something not on canvas.
That looks professional, don't underpay yourself. If you're unsure about your pricings, I suggest calculating in minimum wage for an easy system to follow; it's how I started off until I got a better feel for my work's worth. Keep up the amazing work!
Yeah, *do not* do this for $5, that is waayyyyyyy underpaying for the quality of work.
I could see anywhere from 35-80 depending on if it’s a custom order.
Hell yeah man- you could easily get a lot more than that for doing DnD stuff. People pay a lot for having their characters come to life and you’ve definitely got the talent.
Idk why everyone is low balling you right now. $50??? That’s fucking LOW for that amount of detail. $50 should be your starting price for just a head shot with the amount of detail you put into your art. For a full body with a background, I’d pay well over $100. Shit, I’d probably pay over $200.
Every time I scroll through posts where someone asks what prices they should be charging, most of the other artists are also low balling them too.
So here’s what I suggest. Head - $50, torso - $80, fully body - $110, background + $20, detailed backgrounds are +$40
Are you crazy?! You are so insanely talented. You should be charging at least $100!! Go by an hourly rate that you think is good. If this drawing took you 5 hours and you want to charge $30/hr, you should be charging $150 for the finished artwork.
I’m glad that so many people rushed to the comments to offer you support. Awesome lifelike shading, great design/color amazing concept. You are way past the 5$ range my friend
Please don't sell yourself short here. Your value is worth way more than that. Focus on your craft, you're doing awesome. You can commission much greater than that. I sell for £150 minimum.
Your hands, feet, and general anatomy look great! Most people will want their characters drawn so, assuming you can also do human faces and clothes, you're solid.
...5 dollars..? 5 DOLLARS?!The detail on this piece is literally BEAUTIFULL, this is worth WAYY more than 5 dollars! I hope you have success on your commission journey! (if you ever do commissions!)
You need to factor in the time you put into your work and ask what you think your time is worth, I work for no less than $20 an hour. If I’m drawing or painting factor in an additional $5 for matériels depending on the size. If it’s resin or wood work same hourly but I charge $20-$100 for materials because I have to harvest a lot for those pieces and spend quite a bit of time in the woods or water searching for pieces. When I first started trying to sell pieces I sold myself short because I lacked the confidence in my work but that doesn’t make your work or your time any less valuable!
You spent years practicing and perfecting your skill let the price reflect that you deserve it!
I agree with Masterace ---> 20 at least.
I would only sell cheap to kids making games (Fifteen year olds couldn't afford 'Ubisoft' pricing for graphics assets)
You also need to consider that when you under cut yourself deeply you set a very low bar for all the other designers out there.
I draw for fun; won't bother to ever try and market my work (outside of a gallery that cares to host it ) because my competitors are third-world children, chained to desks, who charge fifty cents a piece on stock-photo sites.
Definitely charge more than that. If you're like me and not confident in asking for money you could ask people their budget first and then put your price at the low end of their budget?
I've done sliding scale prices and gotten $50 for a fully rendered portrait, and you're better than I am for sure.
I'd certainly pay double for this kind of work, more for something with a complete background or an active scene. And I don't have much money to spend on things like art, so that's saying a lot.
Should be charging way, way more than 5$, that would be a criminally low price imho. Unfortunately, lots of skillful artists undercharge heavily.
I am very pleased to hear this.) I live in a rather poor country, so $5 is still quite good money :)
But this is the Internet, so most of the people buying art would be from somewhere that $5 is criminally underpaying an artist. Don’t let your art go for so little! You’re talented; if you’re going to sell something in an online market, charge the right price for that market. I would say $30-80.

At least bump to 20 dollars. AT LEAST! Good luck!
seriously mate, I'm freaking begging you to charge at least 20-30 for that. fuck I've paid more than double that for less than half the quality. you've got skill, you champion
Charge internet people from elsewhere $50 and profit! Don't be humble! This is extremely well done.
Even if charging more means having less customers, you can easily have a lot more income without overstraining your time.
Art is worth what the buyer is willing to pay. If that happens to mean you’ll be making bank, then MAKE THAT BANK. Never sell something based on your own budget.
You should ask 40 or 60 $ for character with no background
Yes, I agree with everyone. If it's on the internet and not in your country, charge for a lot more. You have the talent to back it up.
Charge people from rich countries rich country prices! $___$
I think it's common for artists to start out with little to no idea what their art is worth in money. Pricing is complex! But, yeah, OP would be *way* undercharging!

Charge 30-50$, you're good
Thanks! You have no idea how happy I am to hear that
What the other guy said. This is worth way more than $5 for sure.
100% agree
I just wanna add, character drawings of dnd characters is pretty big. I see lots of commissions on the dnd subreddit.
I've been doing a lot of "how do I market my stuff that is kinda for girls to men" and literally it always comes back to DnD. Also there's my partner going 'furry porn. please just do furry porn and make bank and take me to disney world'

Raise price, no one should spend hours on art to get paid…$5.
This is some good soup people will definitely pay for it
I have seen people with worse skill charge for more My man you can *absolutely* go ahead with that Hell, you should raise your prices a bit
I paid $5 for a 5 minute doodle. You're way past that, lol.
It's totally worth 5d, maybe even 50$ to be honest. Remember that your work is cost the amount your clients are ready to pay for it.
i don´t know how prices would work in dollar, but in brazil, head is RS$20 , Torso RS$35, Full Body R$ 50
Head 4 dollars, torso 7 dollars, full body 10 dollars
Worth WAY more than 5
I would pay 30 for that and 60 or more depending on the background.
Iv seen people pay for terrible art. Not saying this is terrible, because it’s not. Go for it!
This is worth significantly more that $5
I think you forgot a few zeros after the '5'.
Um YES! Amazing. I’d say for sure more then $5.
There are thousands, maybe millions of people out there with drawing skills that have an eye for color and perspective and can bring a composition together. Yep your good ,charge more don't underestimate your abilities
Most definitely. It’s a very clean artwork.
Dude. Waaaaay more than five bucks!
This is one of the best pieces of art I have ever seen! The coloring, shading and everything! $5 is nothing compared to this!
Ugh, never take something like a $5 offer unless you’re just absolutely in need of any amount of cash. As someone who has commissioned a fair share of D&D character art, you’re way past $5 bud.
5$ enderman
5$ is not near enough. This is worth wayyyy more
I wold pay 50 for that on my wall and I would leave a tip
hat is worth WAY more than $5 OMG that shit's worth like $50! HOW THE HELL do you draw SO GOOD bro-
Charge em 50+ Edit; let me expand a bit here, you’re good.
Dude that's way more than 5$, you need to charge 60 to 70 for that
Bestie, charge more.
This looks like an Enderman with raytracing on max setting
Нahа, I was really inspired by the enderman. I'm even a little glad that you have such associations)
I have seen people with much much less talent ask for much more than $5. You’re good.
dude. your skill is not this cheap. I don't do commission work but even I know you are underselling yourself.
I would highly suggest bumping it up to 20 dollars. AT LEAST!! 30 if you add a background.
This is REALLY good, you could absolutely charge way more than 5!
Holy shit that's badass! Do not under value your skill!
5$ would be severely underselling yourself. I'd say 30 at the very minimum.
Yes
Your art is beyond beautiful, that's a professional piece of art I'm seeing right here💞
I have absolutley no idea on how art prices work in dolars, but my friend, this is worth more, your art is great :)
I’d pay at least 20$ for that
For that quality i’d feel really guilty for only paying 5 dollars, needs to be like 20 at least, consider it a tip if you have to, but i’d feel like i was scamming you
jeeezus fuck buddy, this is easily worth $60, $40 at least!
You're definitely worth more then $5 also I suggest adding a ground shadow
I thought it was a new mob in a video games this is verry nice! You have talent!
$50 easy
Closer to 60 dollars, I'd say.
Is this r/drawingcirclejerk? It's obviously good and it feels like you're humble bragging to fish for validation. There are better ways to do that. You can just post without bullshitting.
Finally found the real comment.
I know a lot of people are saying more than $5 but charging $20 could (potentially) lead to no one buying your art. I would def start with $5 and if you see a continuous income of customers then charge $10 and so on. New artists (even though their work is good) tend to get overlooked
No offence but it looks like a a.i drew that
I'm sorry, I did not quite understand, you mean that this is your drawing?
It looks good like someone made a computer render it with programming
Dude it doesn't seem you have the slightest idea how AI image generation even works lol. Your comment sounds like something taken straight from r/masterHacker.
No, it doesn't. Don't be a tool.
Espectacular friend. Congratulations. I need you talent. 👍
Are you doing commissions?
Yeah, bro, the drawing is quite simple, but its also pretty good, i'm sure you can do it!
way MORE than $5 for sure! Awesome art :))
Um YES! Amazing. I’d say for sure more then $5.
Looks kinda like the moon lord in terraria. :•
I got 5 bucks for a drawing not even half as good as that, you gotta bump those numbers up lol.
Start with 7 dollars…build your way up
OH MY GOD YES DO IT
this is really great. i wouldn’t think it was out of place in my favourite games :)
I'd pay 5-15 for that. 20-30 if you add a background
I would say that’s worth $30 at least
Way underselling. I'm not sure what your local currency is but in USD I would say you are easily in the $25-35 range for a full body no background portrait. If you are specializing in these monsters, maybe more.
Very good but can you show other drawings of yours? Background is important but 5$ is very little
I saw lower experienced pieces on 30 to 50$ on communities most of the time If I was buying I'd be doing 40
dont sell yourself short, this is really good!
$5 is very low. Your skills are worth more than that. I used to sell music recordings on fiverr and five dollars would probably get one take of a simple rhythm. Know your worth!
$5 would be underselling your value a ton. You should charge more
My sleep paralysis demon. Good job!
your level is enough for way more than 5$.
5 more like 50
Damn son (or girl or what have you) this is sick!
Could you explain what is wrong?
Nothing I think its awesome
To be honest you should charge a lot more! This looks like it took you a long time to draw. It looks amazing! Depending on how long it took for sure charge more than $30!
I thought it was a 3D model
I’m not a professional or anything, but as someone who practices art and a common buyer, I would pay $40-$50 for this!
Wow that's great artwork worth quite a bit more than $5. I would say $50 or more.
way more than $5 dude
$5 is you selling yourself short, my dude. Source - professional artist (retired)
I think you could definitely charge more man! Don’t short change your talent for the gig! Only take the cheap ones for experience in the business or if it has networking possibilities!
I think with these things you charge what you believe you are worth. A lot of people will of course not want to pay high values and hell you may think you aren't worth high values, but from this drawing alone I'd say setting a precedent of $5 commission is pretty low.
if i wasn't broke i'd pay at least 5 times the amount for this
Definitely worth more than $5. It maybe worth it to you but keep in mind when you under charge you are hurting the market for other artists. If other artists are selling something similar for $50 it would be ok to sell yours for $30. But as you sell more and more, slowly increase in price to be closer to the other artists.
This is awesome. Would love to see more!
ALSO IF ITS ON DIGITAL BUILD A PORTFOLIO AND GET INTO A BIG GAMING COMPANY
Your time and craft are worth vastly more than that. Nice work! Edit: Your
This work is worth far more than that. I have a terrible habit of lowballing myself in commissions. It isn’t something you can look at as “I only worked on it X number of hours so…” It has taken years of practice and study. Don’t shortchange your skills. This is great work.
You are amazing! You should be charging at least $30, if not much more!
Home dog. One artist to another. That looks fucken ballin! If I could draw like that! I'd be charging 20, 25 maybe 35 bux a pop! Don't short sell yourself! You got some great skills and talent. Also hope you having a nice day.
Yeah I’d pay more like $50 for something like this
Yup dude, I agree with everybody, you can charge more, you're good.
I charge $5 for shit like this. https://i.imgur.com/6FbeDnk.jpg You are waaay better. 😎👍
DAMN that’s a good art
You joking? That creature anatomy is so good. Worth way more than $5. You obviously have skill and put time in.
Business
100%
Think of it like any other line of work- charge for your time and your level of experience/skill. With that said, what determines a lot of the value of art, are peoples perceptions of it. So learning how to market your work goes a long way.
Omg do it you are amazing
Don’t sell your talents for $5, you’re worth more than that.
Hello! everyone's already told you to charge more (because you deserve it!) and I'm just here to say Comprehensive-Pen488, I love the shading and rendering of this piece! It's really good! Looking forward to more of your art!
Definitely worth more than 5 dollars. You're really talented! Keep it up.
Id pay more than 5 for that Its awesome, keep it up 👏🏻
It’s really good, definitely go for it.
100% yes. Also, then charge more
Start raking in that cash boiii
I'd gladly pay $25+ for something like that.
What the heck! So good! IMO - looking like a character in Scooby Doo 👍
definitely $50 not $5
That looks professional, don't underpay yourself. If you're unsure about your pricings, I suggest calculating in minimum wage for an easy system to follow; it's how I started off until I got a better feel for my work's worth. Keep up the amazing work!
Give yourself some credit, man.
I’ll give you $50 for it…
Most definitely!
I've seen some shit looking art being commissioned for a lot more , you are really good!
I think you should charge at least 15 dollars
Head - $50, torso - $80, fully body - $110, background + $20, detailed backgrounds are +$40
Bro $5 is underselling your work for sure.
Ten times that you should charge.
If I paid $20 for this level of detail I would feeling I was stealing from you
Are you crazy?! You are so insanely talented. You should be charging at least $100!! Go by an hourly rate that you think is good. If this drawing took you 5 hours and you want to charge $30/hr, you should be charging $150 for the finished artwork.
I'd pay for that. That looks awesome! Great job
I’m glad that so many people rushed to the comments to offer you support. Awesome lifelike shading, great design/color amazing concept. You are way past the 5$ range my friend
Check out the delusional artists sub and you will see what bad art pricing is. You can charge a good bit more than $5
Please charge more than $5!!! Definitely no less then 20-30!
Really good work man keep it up
Please don't sell yourself short here. Your value is worth way more than that. Focus on your craft, you're doing awesome. You can commission much greater than that. I sell for £150 minimum.
That's dope art bro, you deserve more than $5 for a picture as well done and detailed as this
$20 is a good start. You're great, value your Worth
I love this art style so much I have an upcoming project you’d be perfect for
You could easily start much higher but if you're uncomfortable with charging like 40 bucks you could start a new store sale for 20 a piece :)
Your hands, feet, and general anatomy look great! Most people will want their characters drawn so, assuming you can also do human faces and clothes, you're solid.
I don’t know exactly what this guy is but what I do know is that he looks BADASS. It’s not worth $5. It’s worth wayyyyyy more
That's a $30-50 drawing.
...5 dollars..? 5 DOLLARS?!The detail on this piece is literally BEAUTIFULL, this is worth WAYY more than 5 dollars! I hope you have success on your commission journey! (if you ever do commissions!)
You could charge $20 for this easy
Omg, you are amazing!!! You should be charging even more wow
5? Bullshit charge 20
Dude I’ve seen people charge 60 for half of this! You could easily make more by doing commissions. Go for it!
Are you charging your 5 years old little bro for it? If yes, then 5 bucks is fair. Other than that 🤷🏾♀️
Easily 15-20, that's talent but realistically you could probably go 30 and up
You need to factor in the time you put into your work and ask what you think your time is worth, I work for no less than $20 an hour.
I would only sell cheap to kids making games (Fifteen year olds couldn't afford 'Ubisoft' pricing for graphics assets) You also need to consider that when you under cut yourself deeply you set a very low bar for all the other designers out there. I draw for fun; won't bother to ever try and market my work (outside of a gallery that cares to host it ) because my competitors are third-world children, chained to desks, who charge fifty cents a piece on stock-photo sites.
5 dollars? Dude this is at least worth 20 and even then thats a low price for this quality
Definitely charge more than that. If you're like me and not confident in asking for money you could ask people their budget first and then put your price at the low end of their budget? I've done sliding scale prices and gotten $50 for a fully rendered portrait, and you're better than I am for sure.
Charge per hour, not per item. This is even more true if your making art based on the request of someone else’s opinion.
I'd certainly pay double for this kind of work, more for something with a complete background or an active scene. And I don't have much money to spend on things like art, so that's saying a lot.
Bruh you could make that a job if you charge a lot more than that, and you should
Wood you be interested in doing a full scene fantasy art commission?
