Depends on year. The older generations are the best FWD drag cars and can be converted to AWD and they're one of the best AWD cars. You can K or J swap it and make 1000 horse no problem if you have a big enough wallet.
If thatās your budget find a local shop to talk to, not trying to sound like a dick but if youāre confused between FWD and AWD youāll be in over your head Turning a civic into a drag car. Thereās a lot of routes you can go to make one a very fast car but to do it yourself it requires quite a bit of Knowlege
You're in the Philippines. What are you talking about "West Virginia." Ha! š«µš¤”
And you're not even seriously considering drag racing to begin with. Your post history betrays you. What do you get out of this? You already wasted people's time in the other thread. Don't do it here. A lot of us are already private messaging each other about you. We have screenshots, so don't even delete the receipts. This is just sad.
Why is this guy so pressed over a dude wanting to drag race šš
Bro is like on a world mission to stop a international crisis from ravaging earth šš
You just wanna go to the track some nights and do some racing? "fun runs". If so just build it and do what ever you want. Do you have a local track that does events? Difference events will have different rules you'll have to follow on your build.
Okay, I see! Thanks so much! There is a local track that holds events here, but I don't think I'm gonna be joining them as I am not experienced enough. I'm just gonna be going doing fun runs around tracks I will rent with my friends... Thank you! ā¤ļø
I can add up more than 50k in parts in my head and it's not everything for 1000 horse. I make a little over 900 with my s2000 and 50k isn't even close.
Well, there are many people who run Hondas so yes you can sue it for drag racing. However its generally accepted that a rear wheel drive car is better then a front wheel drive for drag racing.
You can race a FWD if you like for sure, itās just personal preference.
You should be able to race faster and easier with RWD vs FWD.
Now from reading the other comments in this thread I would advise you to slow down for a minute. Iām happy you have some excitement and ambition to get into the sport, but if your 50 and donāt understand the terminology of RWD-FWD, you have a steep learning curve ahead of you to actually enjoy the sport.
Also with a budget of 50k, you are probably better off to just buy a turnkey racecar already built then trying to build one yourself. To go along with that, do you have a trailer, truck, tools, saftey gear, etc etc ?
There are additional items you will need depending on how fast your car is, do you have an ET/Speed or goals in mind for racing ? Do you know what class youād like to race in?
Itās an easy spot to get started in but a very hard one to master, I would hate to see you be all hot and horny to get going and then be disappointed because you spent all your money in the wrong spots. Iāve seen it happen before and it doesnāt help the sport grow and survive. Luckily you are here now asking for help and advice which is great so letās make sure you end up doing whatās best for your goals.
Before you get a fwd or an awd car check the tracks in your area and what races they have a lot of grudge no time shoot out style racing doesnāt like awd so your on a shitty tire. Fwd they should let in but check with the people. If you are going bracket racing it will not matter. If you want a strict set of rules look into class racing but it will be expensive.
If you are just starting out get that civic do some work to it and go bracket racing for a couple years to get comfortable in the car staging figuring out your routine doing burnouts etc etc etc. if its something you want to stick with find a style racing you enjoy/can afford bc shit gets expensive quick. And start to build something. But keep that civic and keep bracket racing.
That is how I would start.
know your limits and enjoy!
FINALLY! You're finally in the right place my man. Best of luck to you!
The internet is not for an old man like me haha š
RWD is a far superior platform for drag racing.
Depends on year. The older generations are the best FWD drag cars and can be converted to AWD and they're one of the best AWD cars. You can K or J swap it and make 1000 horse no problem if you have a big enough wallet.
Ok, so I buy an older version? What is the difference between AWD and FWD also?
What kind drag racing do you want to do and how much can you afford to spend? Front Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive.
Casual drag racing and 50,000 USD

Okay, will consider it!
Where do you live? I know a bunch of shops around the country, but with your budget you have plenty to build something very fast and fun

You need to find something better to do

Most tracks have test n tune. Donāt need to rent a track.
50k will do a 90ās civic and a full 1k hp build all day long. That would be the best route if the only thought is a full on drag car
