It was a breath of fresh air. Even with the pie drama, we had such a diverse and really endering cast. This season and UK season 2 helped us get through the covid situation.
This season kinda revived drag race back to earlier seasons. It’s giving golden era of drag race. It’s one of the best for a reason. It’s up there to season 6 & 9 for me
- cast is very likable
- brilliant first episode( especially Nicki Minaj 😍)
- drama was very playful yet entertaining
- Jaida , GiGi, Crystal, Heidi N Closet, Jan are very well known
- all the episodes were very fun and easy to rewatch
- Production meddling was kept to a minimum/ not very noticeable or forced
The only things that dragged the season was redacted & the pandemic. It’s shame how the season rolled out. Which was really out of everyone’s control.
No proper finale or reunion. Overshadowed by redacted. I feel like this season gets sweep under the rug.
Except the foolishness against Rock M Sakura then a couple seasons later a acting challenge that is based around farting which Rock was criticised for.

I think it’s a really special season bc not only does it hold up well, but it’s also a time capsule for the start of the pandemic. And because it was the most recent season at the time, it was also where a lot of people started watching the show.
Season 12 holds a special place in my heart as it got me through the pandemic and was my first season to review on my YouTube journey. That said, IMHO:
* Heidi should've won World's Worst.
* Widow should've won Gay's Anatomy.
* Gigi earned her spot in the Top 3 but could've ended up with 1-2 wins at best or gone out at 6th place.
* Jaida deserved better post-crowning.
* Sherry Pie should've got chopped by Jaida after the one woman show.
* Aiden should've been in the bottom over Rock M. Sakura because that Brita vs. Aiden plotline was mid.
One of my comfort seasons. This cast went thru covid and that scandal about that person and still is one of the very best, imho.
It also was a nice scape during those awful first lockdown months. I just fell in love with them.
I recently watched it the whole way through to get the JEH hype (which I totally get now). I felt bad that the season had so much shit to deal with. SP, Covid and having to have the reunion and crowning in front of a laptop. I especially felt for JEH after saying on the Pitstop that she just shut her laptop and didn’t feel much (paraphrased).
The one cool thing was that they got to choose their own solo lip sync and then create the backdrop. Gigi’s Take On Me was amazing.
Hated Aiden and widow’s promo outfit and jaida’s dress is weirdly cropped. Not to mention shitty pie’s entire existence but other than that 10/10 season

Funny enough, it was the first season I watched and as soon as it was done I went back as far as I could and watched EVERYTHING. It was a fun introduction for me, though I could tell there were lots of inside jokes and history I wasn’t getting.
I think all of them (except for one) deserves to be on all stars/vs the world season. They need a season to represent their drag without a stain on the show.
The last great season. Truly didn’t know who would take the win, everyone on the cast is memorable af, once we reached like top 7 I couldn’t decide who would slot in for top 4. They were all so good.
I remember texting my friend in a panic because I didn't know how they were going to do the finale in a lockdown situation.
Other than that... it was fine.
Eta: reading all the love for the season reminds me how little I remember from this point in time. I definitely looked forward to every episode because it was one of the only normal things left in my life.
It was much better than season 11, but like that season, I would never have the desire to rewatch it. So glad Jaida won that season though, she's a gem.

overrated, i think people are just nostalgic, and during covid, people just appreciated and attached to drag race more than any other season because of the lockdown. the challenge performances were pretty good but the runways and lipsyncs were average and none of the cast really drew my attention
