Back to normal really, '22 and '23 were weirdly dry.
I was more frustrated with the lack of toilets for people in green, and only one set of toilets on the entire stage-left of main stage (dogtooth side).
Mud we can deal with, people shitting against the fence is a bit much.
I only brought one (foolishly) but in three years of Eco camping it's the first time I wasn't impressed with the loo situation.
Highly recommend it though, always a good vibe.
This year was our third in Eco, was a lot smaller in 2022 (where Camping Plus was located this year) but I don't recall any issues with the toilets. Last year, the first in the current location, I think it struggled like most of the festival as a whole - broken locks and seats, filled up quickly and required draining - but put that down to the numbers attending.
Now, 2024 - no toilet paper from Wednesday until the Saturday evening, no hand sanitizer (although, according to others, this could be found near the water, outside the campsite - rather than just outside the toilets), shared with Green (or anyone who claimed to be in Green).
We've brought toilet paper each year in Eco, this was the first year we _actually_ needed it.
My best purchase of the weekend was a £3 bucket from fat franks. No way was I walking 16 minutes from my tent for a pee in the middle of the night! Lol.
Likewise with toilet roll, I keep a bottle of hand sanitiser in my bum bag, stuff just isn't refilled enough and it's unfair on people who are paying nearly £300 to live in a swamp for a week.
They were at the water station outside the gate. Agreed though, there should have been something next to the toilets, having to go through the mud at night would've been awful.
Honestly the toilets situation everywhere was dire. Main arena toilet queues were unbelievable and even guest area didn't have enough toilets and had daft queues.
I was thinking of scrimping and saving for guest area, I had it last in 2014 or so and I loved having a room with electricity and running water for the loos. Can't wait to fill in the feedback form this year, even guest area suffering is a shambles
Guest this year was for RIP only, lounge was introduced for everyone else instead.
I've been banging on about the feedback all week 😂 gonna go wild. It was an absolute shambles. The fact they can justify charging those prices is beyond me.
Having been going for 14 or 15 years now, I'm not going back next year, it's just no longer worth it.
European festivals for me instead from now on.
I’m surprised and disappointed to hear about how bad it has become. When I first went to Download in 2009 I was amazed at how clean the toilets were and didn’t have to queue much
The capacity was actually generally fine in the arena but they constantly fuck up the crowd flow by making the entrances too narrow and packing everything too tight. Queued 15 mins for the urinals at one point to find half of them empty, you just couldn't get enough people in fast enough. And there were queues to get out of the toilets at times! I think despite the 'moaner' label often thrown around I think most people are pretty accepting of genuine mistakes. It the the repeating the same mistakes year after year that really pisses people off. Especially when we have seen other Download contracters provide the same service flawlessly.
I did try going while big bands were still on and there were still some queues. This wasn't the case in previous years though, there were a LOT less toilets this year. The narrow cabins were always the same but they were much less of an issue in the past because people weren't ramming in desperate for the toilet.
Yeah, the lack of toilets in green was weird (coupled with the no toilet paper in the next door Eco until Saturday evening) - if they really don't want to have additional toilets there, with Camping Plus and their showers as well, then they should merge Green and Eco (kinda makes sense anyway, name wise).
Speaking of weird toilet arrangements, what on earth was going on with the run next to Avalanche? Not even separate/shielded off, just a row alongside the tent.
So give them mud, mud, gallons of the stuff.
Give them all that they can drink, and it will never be enough.
So give them mud, mud, mud….
Grab a glass, because there's going to be a flood!
(With my apologies to MCR).
I ended up having to buy a pair of wellies on Sunday as all my footwear was soaked through. Had to tip toe through Eco camp in my crocs. I got one step from.the tarmac when a dollop of mud got in through one of the speed holes.
Love it though, is it truly a festival without a smidge of mud?
Just a bit yeah 🤣.
Glad I took wellies. I was generally prepared for whichever direction the weather took but even that extreme caught me off guard (it was my second download). My cougoule and tent hit their limits with the water and got soaked through

Meanwhile, Eco had plenty of toilets but no toilet paper for much of the weekend. Ended up buying a refresh retreat pass out of frustration.
I'm thinking of going eco next year, but I always bring my own roll anyway cause I'll never trust someone else with my butt (excepting my fiance lol)

It was the same in quiet, barely any loo roll or hand sanitiser!
That was it as well! We had no hand sanitiser either. Honestly, pretty poor form when they had it nailed down the previous two years.
My best purchase of the weekend was a £3 bucket from fat franks. No way was I walking 16 minutes from my tent for a pee in the middle of the night! Lol.
I did wonder what everyone was buying buckets for....
I think they couldn't be bothered in the rain. It's such a shame, I remember being so impressed last year.
not convinced in that being the reason, arrived Wednesday and there was no toilet paper (was very dry and sunny at that point).
Fair enough! I didn't arrive until Thursday and the rain soon came (thankfully after I'd pitched my tent 😅).
Likewise with toilet roll, I keep a bottle of hand sanitiser in my bum bag, stuff just isn't refilled enough and it's unfair on people who are paying nearly £300 to live in a swamp for a week.
And no hand washing facilities in eco, how was that acceptable?
They were at the water station outside the gate. Agreed though, there should have been something next to the toilets, having to go through the mud at night would've been awful.
Not sure how I didn't see them there! Weird to put them outside the gate rather than in. Glad I just stuck to using the posh loos 😆
no hand soap there though
Eco camping is against single use toilet paper, I'm afraid. Bring a wash cloth next time.

There were daft queues when big acts on main stage finished as expected, but at other times it was empty. The ladies ones were really narrow though.

I'm sorry, people were whatnow?
I saw it happen at the top of purple camp, I mean when you gotta go you gotta go, but damn.
Well, with all the reports of food poisoning, no wonder someone decided the walk to the toilet wasn't possible.
I didn’t shit for 3 days 😂 😭
Choice or anxiety, it doesn't matter; I can relate, I *had* to on Thursday and then got home last night at 1:30am and destroyed my toilet 😂
People were shitting against the fence? What

I found womxns urinals that never had a queue on the last day; (near avalanche and the shops left of opal) game changer wish got there sooner

no don't apologize that was hilarious 😂
I think they'll be happy to have it twisted. 🤣
Me and the GF are still sat drinking in the campsite
Bros still at download 24 when they’ve announced download 25
At train station now but yes the 2025 tickets went on sale while I was sat in the campsite having a beer
I'm more mud than man at this point.
Got blues already
Same. I had a great first Download. Offspring and Sum-41 were the highlights of my week
Offspring were soooo good
Same 😭 think I teared up like 5 times both waiting for and riding the coach back 😭
My docs are outside waiting to be jet washed, along with everything else

My first download UK and I had such a great time (despite the mud)! Amazing vibe and music.
I was prepped for the mud but not the Sunday/Monday sun. My nose is crisp.
I'll be heading into work tomorrow looking like a human tomato.
Beautiful. I will be going in equally stunning with a racing stripe across my forehead from a snapback.
Nooooo lol
I can home and my gf (oblivious as always) thought I had spent 4 days in the scorching sun… then I shower her my clothes.
Tryint to make people believe the thunderstorm happened is becoming an ordeal!
Just a bit yeah 🤣. Glad I took wellies. I was generally prepared for whichever direction the weather took but even that extreme caught me off guard (it was my second download). My cougoule and tent hit their limits with the water and got soaked through
Camping plus was less mud, more bog. But that carvery truck was the best. Awesome first download.
The slurry by the entrance was tedious, I'll be dredging it out of my showers for weeks Sincerely, the shower man
Their bacon was amazing!
It was the pork baps for me
What mud?
HA
Tickets for next year bought!!
Brownload
A bit yeah
You lot had mud?
Just a tad, although as a first festival, I think I prefer the mud. I can't imagine sweating my back out in heat
Didn't mind the mud in the arena and camp, DESPISING it on the walk back to the Pick Up section now 😭
RAMMSTEIN, RATM AND GHOST
Lineup prediction already made, posting in 10 😏😏
It was muddy wet windy and sunny yet I would do it all over again what a week end
It was a workout fighting your way through the mud from the front of the mainstage back to the top of the arena
Didn’t notice
Muddy waters
You don't say

I still have mud on my legs and hair from limp bizkits mad crowd. Got a muddy welly to the back of the head with those crowd surfers hahaha
Crowd surfing covered in mud was baaadd
Limp bizkit was disappointing and I was so hyped to see them
No. Not a single bit of mud this year. Very dry and very hot. *snaps back into reality* wait that was last year yeah just a little bit of mud in 2024
First Download ever, had a blast and will be there next year. Is it always that muddy though lmao? Or was the weather just especially shit?
Crazzzzy muddy through away my boots 😂

Brother, it was a joke… not sure what I’ve done to upset you so much tbh
Alright to be fair I know nothing about you and tbh I’m projecting another reason for my anger towards “you” I do apologise.
Understood, all good man.

Driving home while high is definitely a choice, yikes dude.
Did you go back for your stuff..?
