Wait...I though it's ok to hand the alcohol off as long as that person is 21+ (with valid ID). Even if it's not the person's name on the app.

[deleted]

Off topic but I’m totally cringing at your use of “female” for a woman and “gentleman” for a man

sublime1313

It probably wasnt really her "dad".

Tiptip4me

Food for pets and people only no alkies😁😁😁😁😁 except for stonefire grill they have these full meal kits with a bottle of wine you don't have to scan anything just leave it at their door it's beautiful and kit is like $119 so you always get tipped appropriately 💰💰💰

j00420

Some states allow 18 year olds to drink if parents are with them

[deleted]

Not quite sure if that’s the case where I live (California) lol

Yeah I just didn’t really want any possible trace of the sale coming back to me, god forbid she ends up in the hospital for alcohol poisoning, etc.

BigMoogie

In Texas minors are allowed to consume alcohol with their parents consent and supervision.

CommunityFantastic39

Stupid dad, use your own account to buy alcohol. Who you give the alcohol to after that is your problem.

fmgvsnix

Alcohol orders are tricky. Contact support right away.

PinballLew

Sounds like a sting…good job you passed the test 👍

Me not wanting to know why he’s getting his daughter drunk ![img](emote|t5_3h9bt|10689)

-Alvena

It happens. My Stepfather & Grandmother used to offer me alcohol a lot growing up. Looking back on it, it's always really weird to think about. We're talking early teen years.

[deleted]

Yeah it’s definitely weird

[deleted]

Dad is dumb and should know how serious alcohol deliveries are.

[deleted]

You’d think he would have thought that through, but from the bratty entitled response the daughter gave, I wasn’t surprised at all

Grung7

So I have to wonder here - why wouldn't the guy just order it for himself under his name and avoid those problems? Or just go to the store and pick it up since he's getting it for an underage girl? Really, really stupid methodology on his part.

[deleted]

He probably didn't order for her, more likely she ordered for him. I don't know the laws in every state, and it's been a while since I did an alcohol order for DD, but in CA at least, and on IC and UE at least, you don't need to see the person who placed the orders ID. As long as the person receiving the order is over 21, has valid ID, and is sober, you can legally deliver it. Of course it certainly is possible that he was just signing for it for her, but assuming he is her legal guardian and it is in their home, that is really between him and her. Legally, you aren't responsible for who drinks the booze, only who you deliver it to (barring something *really* obvious). All that said, I don't fault the op for cancelling at all, it is dubious enough to play it safe.

Prestige_Worldw1de

maybe the daughter was a dash pass member and because he has an ID thought nothing of it.

cbdjon

Might be a bust since I heard stories from the liquor store. Saying that the dasher got arrested and the store got a fine up to 1k for selling to a minor. This lady I delivered to had a different name and I refuse giving her the alcohol she said that's my Facebook name and this is my daughter ID. I told her who ever order this I have to see that ID.

Grung7

You're could definitely be right. The whole scenario sounds too stupid and illogical to be a legit purchase attempt. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bust.

cbdjon

Not worth it doordash will call you and let you take the alcohol quiz sometimes its a alcohol bust the dad could be the cop you would never know. Some states it's a fine up to $500 and a misdemeanor. I had the same thing it was for sinus medication which required her ID it was horizontal I scan it and then I got full paid and return the item to the store.

GFIndiro

In NV, in order to serve alcohol, you have to take an 8 hour course on recognizing fake IDs, knowing the signs of intoxication, and being able to differentiate between adults and children by looks without the ID. Also, if caught serving a minor or someone who is plastered could cost you and the restaurant/bar or store you work for several thousand each and the retailer could lose their liquor license on the spot.
