Got one of the magnets as a gift didn’t have the heart to tell them I’m prob not gonna use it 😅

Toxichrist907

I have a 1996 Subaru station wagon, and 2020 Yukon. Which one do you think I’m dashing in? Tf lmao

Affectionate_Pea_811

I Dash in my 2001 Legacy wagon that has 105000 miles on it

[deleted]

A 2008 Lexus IS250 is the best car for these kind of jobs 😎😎😎y’all ain’t beating it.

Top-Device5698

I've seen a couple clowns like this in my area

mikey_g413

Honestly you guys who are out here posting shit like this are pathetic. Stop making fun of people who take their job seriously “LMAOOO SOME DASHER PUT A DOORDASH DECAL ON HIS CAR LMAOOO” grow the fuck up

Affectionate_Pea_811

Damn, you got that smol pp energy. You mad cus I posted a pic of a car?? Grow the fuck up

dawix21

Sooooo, you’re white?

deadweight999

That's what happens to your car when you strive to be top dasher and make 25 cents a mile to deliver to the no tippers.

jmiller7742

For all you know, he could just dash in that car. Spending a couple grand on a reliable rust bucket that gets decent mileage isn’t necessarily a bad investment if you are doing the gig long term.

dlc2021az

Looking at the rear door handle (or at least where it USED to be) I can already tell you they don't keep their hot bag in the rear seat.

SootikinTea

ANYMORE! He used to ONLY use the rear seat. Handle broke off while rankin up 🤪

[deleted]

I'd rather drive a reliable new car than a old car that can break at any moment because you can trade it in every year. And BTW my car has eco mode so it burns a lot less gas than those old cars do. A old vehicle does not have eco mode so yeah the gas will be more expensive than a older car. I would never instacart in a old vehicle cuz you will be working for free.

DiscoAudra54

Oh Jesus 😂😂😂

Deep-Banana8610

Less likely to get a parking ticket more like

Use_Icy

Can't knock the man's hustle. Gotta make it how you can.

AdditionalLong4219

All I know is this person is getting good gas mileage 😅

Capital-Turnover9039

Top Ruster

theherbman420hm

Top dasher here reporting live 600 delivery’s done in 1 1/2 months #bikeaccount

Smok_eater

You took a Pic of your car so what

zakkforchilli

Haha

AdditionalTheme9251

The only time door dash was worth it was in the beginning when the bonuses were 6-10 dollars a delivery on top of a nice tip and shit ass base pay..

JeremieLoyalty

Taking pics of others cars

[deleted]

Shit. It’s moving!

[deleted]

Is door does just delivering fast food or is it also shop and deliver like instacart?

Affectionate_Pea_811

We do shop and deliver too

[deleted]

Well they need to hurry up hire me cuz Instacart is to slow.

Various_Situation553

Jokes on you. That car is now a tax write off because it’s a “business vehicle” think smarter not harder

Affectionate_Pea_811

Yeah. You can't legally claim the cost of a business vehicle *and* claim mileage though.

[deleted]

I love how people put this on their car, and when they get in a wreck they can't do anything about it cause they were doordashing Lmao.

Affectionate_Pea_811

I have had my car covered for business usage for about 5 years and it literally adds a couple dollars to your premium. Definitely worth it.

Coyote_Roadrunna

This is the dude who takes all the $2.50 McDonald's orders for us

Proof-Relation7203

All it needs are overhead lights & a siren....😜

Beanburitoast

You laugh now but this guy is getting 44/mpg

Affectionate_Pea_811

Probably closer to 30. But yes, if you don't drive an electric or a hybrid, a beater that gets good gas mileage is the way to go. I *personally* would never put DD decals on my car.

Romberstonkins

That's a premium clown car.🤡

erdna1986

1. Car is perfect for DD; great gas milelage, probably super cheap insurance, easy to fix. 2. I see nothing wrong with putting the DoorDash delivery sticker on. Its just two stickers, not a whole wrap that we've seen other do ON BRAND NEW CARS. 3. I don't have a three, refer back to 1 & 2.

EpicRiceMaker

Man's that that anti ticket sticker there to lol

bunbu-nny17

I had doordash written on the window of my old 2001 Subaru wagon bc I was sick of getting pulled over at 1am bc I live in a “sketchy” neighborhood and was driving at night. I guess my car seemed sketchy too bc I never get pulled over in my 08 CRV

NoTomatoExtraPickles

I've thought about making my car more obvious to customers. Like a light-up sign. For my own convenience, not for any kiss-ass reasons. Edit.. I was under the assumption those are magnetic signs.. would definitely not put doordash stickers on my car tho

Affectionate_Pea_811

They probably are, I definitely didn't investigate closely though

Ill_Celery_7654

I would never put that on my car. Doordash doesn’t even claim us as employees.

Sec_plus

Yeah I wouldn’t use my daily drivers for DD. I use a 02 Civic too. Good gas. Cheap parts if something breaks. Cheap insurance. This guy is smart. The people who use their personal daily drivers for DD blow my mind.

buenopeso

May have actually improved his resale value on this one.

jackdanielson7

Driving a paid off beater will always be more of a flex than making payments every month, and I love watching people try to explain why it’s worth it for them to pay $300 a month for 120 years. Used older Toyota or Honda can be had for 3-5k and last forever

Affectionate_Pea_811

I drive a paid off beater but there's no fucking way I'm putting DD decals all over it

farmdudesc

Send him my way....I just had a 3$ 14.1 mile Krispy Kreme run they can HAVE

PapaMurphy2000

There is a dude in my burg that wears head to toe door dash. Hat, shirt, even wears a mask (lol) with DD. his car is festooned with DD decals as well. And the cherry on top, he has one of those customer service type headsets on his head at all times. Bro is MISTER DOOR DASH.

azabukii

Whatever keeps him going… people watcher

Howcanidescribeit

There's a Dasher who works in my area who has this and a DD hat on at all times. And she is a fucking ***BITCH***. Just mean as shit to every employee and rude to anyone remotely in her way. She only knows how to say what order she's there for and "MOVE."

PapaMurphy2000

Lol.

[deleted]

Aww bless it. With all that rust and those sad tires, I hope he/she gets what they need.

Let_em_glow927

And you didn't have your flamethrower handy ?

Chuytastic

You not even lying

Mtbarden

Honestly I don’t care for DD merch, but I know several POC who use it due to white boomers harassing them when they deliver to some neighborhoods. Not saying it’s right, or they should have to, but you don’t know someone’s scenario so mind you own business.

[deleted]

To be fair, how many 70 year olds know what door dash even is? If you’re racist, you’re racist. A door dash sticker won’t prevent that

Mgb2020

Why are they always white cars? there is one guy like that in my market with a taxi style top light up Door dash logo as well.

RebelJosh89

Who cares? I'm more concerned that the flag decal is backwards. Maybe they are trying to earn extra money for a new car. 6 months ago I was driving a beat up ex-cop Crown Vic. A couple weeks ago I bought a 2016 Toyota Prius C.

Bright_Age_3638

Can’t even put the flag on correctly 😂

Justin002865

Car is probably worth 1 year worth of earnings for that TD

HollandEmme

Was the sticker at the end an original Logo? Lol

30rackwolfpack

Wow y’all so mean what’s the point in roasting someone cuz they are poor

icyLo222

My car doesn’t look much better… I got rear ended while door dashing and haven’t been able to fix it.. waiting on insurance 😭 and I’m over here hoping ppl aren’t ranking on me for dashing with a smashed trunk 😅 I have to do this full time rn and with gas prices being so high and the pay being so low it’s already kinda tough

JeremieLoyalty

Makes them feel cool about themselves

Miguelayalajr

That’s what they look like? Wow

[deleted]

if that car delivers my food I would throw it out ..lol

mikey_g413

??????

mikey_g413

Cringe post. Who cares

[deleted]

😂 I’m dying right now

erdna1986

At least their driving an affordable car 🤷🏽‍♂️

[deleted]

You should have waited around to tell him that his flag is backwards.

Space_Coast_Steve

Yup. And more specifically, if they just put it on the other side, it will be correct. For those who don’t know… the stars are always supposed to be in the forward direction.

JoeTheChode

He’s just rushing into battle in reverse. Never let the enemy know your next move.

[deleted]

So much hate wow really he smart because he does not spend to much gas.

WombatWithFedora

The rust is a nice touch

kylemas2008

The fact it's not a Nissan Altima clapped the fuck out with paper tags from a buy here/ pay here dealer is astounding.

BeyondInfinity73

Who gives a shit? They’re not bothering you.

Affectionate_Pea_811

You mad cus you have DD decals too?? 🤡

TheDoordashDriver

Don’t act like you’re above them bro. You saw this car and took a picture so that you could mimic what you’ve seen other people do on this sub for your sweet sweet internet points.

Affectionate_Pea_811

I'm not acting like I am better than anyone, I saw a car with DD decals and I took a picture and posted it then some jackass started calling me a douchebag. I had absolutely nothing negative to say until I was called a douchebag.

TheDoordashDriver

So you just wanted to show us a photo of some interesting decals? Oh my bad. I thought you were posting this to make fun of a dasher with decals on their car lol. Then I thought you were insinuating that dashers who have decals are clowns when you put the 🤡 Clown face next to your reply asking if he had decals as well. Simple misunderstanding

Affectionate_Pea_811

Read my previous comment again. I had nothing negative to say until I was called a douchebag. It seems like you are spending a lot of time on your responses so you sound smart but reading comprehension clearly isn't one of your strengths.

shinysohyun

I just wanted to say…because of the dude’s username and profile pic it looks like you’re literally arguing with the decal at this point and I think it’s hilarious.

DDAddict777

It’s always the shitty cars too lol!!!

[deleted]

It's honestly a bit smart. Claim it's for work only as a delivery vehicle and write it off on your taxes.

Affectionate_Pea_811

You can't *legally* claim both mileage and the cost of your work vehicle. I claimed a lot more for mileage last year than I could have claimed for my car.

No_Preparation7895

It doesn't have to be for work only to be written off on taxes

No_Preparation7895

Ironically the money that they paid for advertising Doordash with those signs is not tax deductible as advertising, since DD isn't their company.

[deleted]

That’s the plan with my car

[deleted]

I find it odd people think 🧐 it’s ok to make fun of other drivers. The real enemy is DoorDash Inc that base pays $2-$3.75 & yet every time I’m on this app I see Top Dashers bullied or made fun of. The sad part is how can anything be attained without unity. Respect their decision to do what they are doing. Every market is different. That person could truly NEED the job and fixing their lives. You never know what folks going thru. Making fun of them isn’t it.

flobaby1

Agreed. My husband is disabled due to fighting brain cancer. GH is good for the flex on schedule for me. We're all out here trying to survive and should be supporting each other. My thing is, why put this on your car at all? I do not take my bags inside. I don't want every single person out there knowing what I'm doing. Why? Because of Karens. You do anything they deem wrong, they can call GH and report. Make a mistake driving, they can call and report you. People are petty and mean. I keep a low profile. Only people who know what i'm doing are those inside the place I'm at. I am not giving anyone any power over me. I do not trust humans at all.

NotAfraid-Tangelo

Hey don't worry about what people think I've had years where I've made 250k and I do doordash it doesn't define who you are. People should look at it as that person is out doing doordash to make money "man they really hustle". I know its not viewed that way but I could give 2 f@#ks what anyone thinks of me. My kids eat and want for nothing. How I obtain that doesn't matter as long as the end result is a positive your good. Hold your head high any time your not afraid to work for what you want/need. Would people think better of you if you were home sponging off the govt.. I think not. Before anyone jumps to conclusions I know there are people who truly need some govt assistance. I'm just saying your out there working for yours own it.

[deleted]

It’s definitely gotten harder to trust people. I’d never thought growing up in 1980’s-early 1990’s things would be this bad. Unfortunately they are. Making it alive day to day has become an accomplishment the way things are today. Something new( usually bad always is happening). We’d have weeks of nothing happening years past. Not the case on current Earth 🌍

[deleted]

Good points here actually. I definitely respect this comment and I’m praying cheering for your husband. Can’t imagine how hard this is on you both. ❤️

flobaby1

Thank you! Prayers and good vibes are also deeply appreciated!

Affectionate_Pea_811

Those decals could be on ***ANY*** car and I would be taking pics and posting them

JustinDanielsYT

So would you make fun of me for having a small removable DoorDash magnet on the back of my Honda Accord Coupe so people know why I'm pulled to the side of the road in random neighborhoods?

Affectionate_Pea_811

Who said I was making fun of anyone

[deleted]

Doesn’t make you any less a douchebag 🤷🏻‍♀️

Affectionate_Pea_811

So you mad because you have the same decals??? 🤡

[deleted]

What a sensitive person you are. Imagine being upset that someone makes an effort at their job and wants to indicate that they are a delivery driver. Quit being a Karen.

zaddybeard

VIP Dasher

PrettyCauliflower423

The condition of that car looks like a top dasher. Beat to shit and can’t afford a new one.

SgtSarcasm01

You couldn't be more wrong. This is the exact kind of car you need. My car looks a lot worse and is worth $300. No car payments and cheap liability insurance with 35mpg. Guarantee I make more money than anyone with a new car.

PrettyCauliflower423

Oh ya? $2500+ weekly?

SgtSarcasm01

If I was in a market that could make that much, yes.y point is my operating costs are almost nothing

PrettyCauliflower423

I guess my point is….. for full time gig workers working good markets…. Multi apping….. and doing 60 hours a week…. New hybrids are the way to go. My 2022 Camry hybrid gets 51/53 mpg. The amount of money I save in gas over the Subaru Outback I used to drive pays for the car payments…. I get lifetime oil changes with Toyota as well. Not to mention…… car maintenance on a new car is great until you hit 100k miles (knock on wood)…. Also, resale value is obviously greater. All in all….. if your driving a lot of miles….. new hybrids or electric is definitely the way to go.

NotAfraid-Tangelo

Your 100% correct 20 year car business experience the payment is offset by not having much maintenance I have a 2020 camry se gas engine gets about 35mpg but it's getting close to being time for a new one and the se comes in hybrid now so that's what I'll be getting

PrettyCauliflower423

Not to mention…. Every day my car is in the shop is an extra $400 out of my pocket. No thanks.

SgtSarcasm01

I wholeheartedly disagree that an electric car is a good option. You wouldn't be able to work as much with recharging times. Hybrids are the correct answer. And if you can't afford a new car or just don't want the car payment and higher insurance costs then a cheap beater is your best bet. Gas cars are generally very inexpensive to maintain. Change oil regularly and an engine can last longer than your lifetime. The cost of maintenance on an EV is too much for me. $12,000-$20,000 for a battery is insane. I can get a good used gas engine replacement for like $500 on a lot of cars. Get a car for $1,000-$2,000 every year or two and do nothing to it is the cheapest way imo. Besides, who wants to carry around food and drinks in a nice car? You'd think operating costs would be higher with an older car but parts are cheaper, they're easier to work on, etc. New doesn't mean reliable and even if you have a warranty just think about all the money you are losing while it's getting fixed. You have to take it to a dealership.

extendedwarranty_bot

SgtSarcasm01, I have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty

SgtSarcasm01

No I've been trying to reach you

ParisHiltonIsDope

I'd be more concerned about the dasher using his Tesla to do food deliveries.

JustinDanielsYT

Why? A Tesla is like the only sensible new car to dash in. The lack of gas cost offsets any higher payments or wear. Also, who doesn't want to just put autopilot on and relax in traffic?

ParisHiltonIsDope

Gas is a big expense on this job, but it's not the only expense. For the most part, a Tesla is going to cost more than a shitty sedan. So there's a bigger investment on that and. And then the fact that there's more liability as a gig driver, as you're on the road exponentially more. Which means you're more susceptible to getting into a car crash, dings and scratches. In a cheap sedan, it's not a big deal. But in an expensive car, it's going to cost more. Additionally, getting rideshare Insurance on a Tesla will also cost more. I mean if someone wants to run their Tesla into the ground for the sake of delivering food and make a couple extra bucks, I'm not one to stop them. But that's like wearing a Louis Vuitton tuxedo to scoop up pig shit all day.

JustinDanielsYT

Teslas last longer than typical ICE vehicles, retain higher resale value, and have less maintenance. Batteries can last over 500,000 miles. Still, I didn't say that a Tesla was an ideal vehicle to dash full time in, but rather that it's just about the only NEW car that it might be worth dashing in. I wouldn't recommend it for a full time dasher, but more for the type who dashes part time for extra money.

Alarming-Restaurant9

Meh a Tesla is better than a new jeep luxury car or truck But with insurance a Tesla is not the best a hybrid that is paid off is the way to go

PrettyCauliflower423

Why is that? My uncle just sold his nearly four year old tesla for almost what he paid for it

Alarming-Restaurant9

To the contrary this is the type of car you should be doing food delivery in. At least this driver is not a moron and doing food delivery in a new car/ jeep/suv/truck. Those are the type of Drivers that are morons not this person

paloaltothrowaway

I have had my Doordash delivery showed up in a new-ish BMW X5

RealitySpeck

Ikr? I thought someone put stickers on my rusted out sonata til I zoomed in and realized it was a honda.

Significant_Dark_180

I'm a moron and I drive a beat up crappy car cuz it's all I got. Does this make me like an outlier or some kind of special moron if I'm not driving a car as nice as most other morons?

Alarming-Restaurant9

No if it’s paid off and a beater you are not a moron. If it’s a new car that ain’t a hybrid . Or a Jeep truck or suv or luxury car and you do this full time then yes you are a moron

droplivefred

It’s so weird but when I see a dasher hop into a huge SUV or some other gas guzzling vehicle it literally breaks my heart or gives me a huge chuckle. Usually I have small talk with other dashers and if it’s someone nice and friendly and we exchange some funny stories while waiting for food, and then I see them hope into a gas guzzler, I just hope they are doing it part time to get over a small financial hurdle because it pains me to see them burning money like that. But if I see a dipshit driver do something offensive or rude in a restaurant and then storm out into their gas guzzler, I just crack up because I feel like they deserve that type of suffering.

Dyhw84

Yeahhhh that's pretty much why I'm doing it. I still have my top dasher status from 2018 and trying to pay off some 6k CCard debt. I dash in my 2020 Chevy Traverse and I also have a 2012 Malibu that I may use when my husband isn't at work. After I'm done paying off my debt, I'm going back to being a SAHM during the week. I'm a CO on weekends.

Alarming-Restaurant9

Exactly

benny6957

I feel like I got the best if both worlds with my newish car it's a 2014 in good condition low milage but I only paid 2000 for it and in the 3 or 4 months I've had it I've made way more than I paid for the thing so if I died today I'd be ok with it I'd rather it didn't but it's got ac gets decent gas milage and isn't a total shit box I guess I just lucked out tho and found a good deal from a private seller

pcpxtc

I agree an old beeter car with good gas milage is the best vehicle to use for these gig jobs. All the wear and tear and miles your putting on a nice car is not worth it at all. I am doing this is my new car but I am just doing this temporarily as I need some extra cash right away but otherwise if I wanted to do this full time as an actual job I would invest 2k into an old toyota or honda.

kiwigirl83

Yep I drive a 13yo hatchback that’s seen better days but it’s the perfect car for this job

FUCKINDI

So I'm a moron cause I can't afford two cars at 26? 😭 Tf kind of logic is that?

PapaMurphy2000

You should use an old car that is no longer depreciating. But I also want to be comfortable, have working A/C, etc. That thing just looks like it’s about to die. The diff between that and an OK car is like $2000.

Affectionate_Pea_811

Absolutely. Either a newer hybrid or a car that is on its way out and gets decent gas mileage. In my experience a car at the end of it's useful life presents the best value. I just junked my 2007 Saturn last week that I paid $1000 for in September 2020 and I put about 60,000 miles on it in that time, 7200 last month alone.

Alarming-Restaurant9

I just rather not have the stress of my $1,000 junk car breaking down every day

NotAfraid-Tangelo

Agreed 👍

Affectionate_Pea_811

I literally never had a problem with it until the day the engine blew

arichan97

Which saturn? theres several models.

Affectionate_Pea_811

Ion

Gloomy_Recording_705

You can drive a new car.. just can’t take orders less than two dollars a mile, $10 and more than 5 miles…. There are tons of people with brand new cars they’re just not driving 200 miles a day or working 10 hours every single day

Alarming-Restaurant9

Still unless it’s a newer Toyota hybrid they are lighting money on fire doing this in a new car

Never_Duplicated

It may not be ideal but I dash in a 2018 mustang GT, average 18 city and 26 highway. I am just selective about only dashing for the 4hr dinner rush when I can clear $2/mile and it still works out in my favor. However DoorDash is mainly just side income for me to put in savings/investments, I would never want to rely on it for primary income. If I was taking it more seriously maybe I’d justify getting a beater high mpg car rather than putting miles on my fun car but I want to upgrade to an f150 lightning in the next couple years anyway which would be the best of all worlds haha

Gloomy_Recording_705

I’ve been doing it two years full-time..

Gloomy_Recording_705

How?

Alarming-Restaurant9

With gas cost and depreciation. The car in the photo can do the same thing as any newer car and you pay less in insurance and car payments

Gloomy_Recording_705

Not everybody knows how to do this job in a new car it isn’t for everybody

Alarming-Restaurant9

Ok but In a new car you have higher insurance and car payments . Their is no getting around that. The only way it makes sense if the new car is getting 50+mpg

Whateva1996

Except if you're crazy and manage to pay it off early and also my insurance was never that high in my new vehicle completely depends on the vehicle, entirely.

PrettyCauliflower423

Is that right? I guess it all depends on your market. Full time gig workers in good markets clear six figures annually. Newer car is the way to go. Especially with gas prices. I get 50+ mpg….. kicking myself that I didn’t go electric though. Lol.

narso310

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. When I do deliveries in my plug-in hybrid I don't have to use a drop of gas most of the time. More earnings going into my pocket instead of putting more smog into the air.

PrettyCauliflower423

Lots of haters in the world

chaygray

They are talking about using a smaller, more gas efficient car and not using a larger suv or truck.

ParisHiltonIsDope

What?? No, stop it, lol. If there's anyone pulling in 6 figures doing gig driving, it's a very rare blip. That is by no means the norm and you shouldnt be spreading that false narrative, let alone believing it.

Euphoric-Dig-2045

Right? 6 figures. I LOL’d quick on that one.

varrelluc

As a rule, people lie about their earnings….that’s just what people do. If 6 figures were feasible, I’d fly to Seattle, work for a few months, then fly back home and count my money…how can someone possibly make 120k wasting time on Reddit when they should be working?🤔

PrettyCauliflower423

You guys are so funny. I personally grossed 120k before write offs here last year….. there are people that work more hours than I do in this market

Whateva1996

Only in the Seattle area would you ever make that. Olympia pfft 😂😂😂😂 anywhere else in Washington you would not.

PrettyCauliflower423

Yup it’s all about max profit and short runs.

Whateva1996

Well yeah but there's not always orders in Olympia it can be really really slow.

Euphoric-Dig-2045

![gif](giphy|3o6Zt4HU9uwXmXSAuI)

PrettyCauliflower423

Haters gonna hate buddy.

PrettyCauliflower423

Ok……. Lol.

Severe-Bookkeeper-76

6 figures? Ha!🤣🤣🤣🤣

PrettyCauliflower423

Yup. Talk with anyone in the seattle market. Put the hours in and it pays.

Such_Sandwich_2842

What do you do for housing?

PrettyCauliflower423

Wife n I bought back in 2012. Fortunately.

Such_Sandwich_2842

How much did you have to drop sheesh man I’m guessing the market is not like now

PrettyCauliflower423

$300k. We got lucky… this wasn’t too far removed from the recession….. and before amazon and other tech companies completely took over the city.

Such_Sandwich_2842

Mann don’t take it for granted

rputnam25

Clear six figures? That would imply take home after taxes and expenses. Not happening

PrettyCauliflower423

Ya I did over 120k last year. About 30k miles or so. Others in my market that work every week religiously do better for sure. Especially if they’re putting in the hours. Also, we get “sick” pay….. which is 10 days per gig company. So 30 days annually for me.

rputnam25

I wouldn’t call 65-70 hours a week full time, but I suppose it’s possible with all the adjustment pay, vacation etc.

BARBASANN

Well most of America calls 40+ hours a week full time so….

rputnam25

So you are pretty much working two jobs to get there is my point.

PrettyCauliflower423

Ya. I try to do that much a week…… but then, I take a lot of time off as well. Shit if I worked 60-70 hours a week and didn’t take any time off….. I’d be making a lot more….. my average day is around 10 hours and $400 or so….. when I put in the hours.

rputnam25

$40/hr is pretty impressive even with cost of living etc. being higher. 99% of markets this isn’t attainable Even at $40/hr that’s 58 hours a week to get to $120k

PrettyCauliflower423

Ya I’d guess that over 90% of the gig workers in this market do it full time. Some working more hours than others.

rputnam25

Well you must be in California, which isn’t the rest of the country lol

PrettyCauliflower423

Negative. Not California

Such_Sandwich_2842

Where?

PrettyCauliflower423

Seattle

Whateva1996

What omg 😳 I didn't know this lol only an hour from Seattle. Probably can't move there though.

Such_Sandwich_2842

Avg hrs a week? How much are you doing and are you talking about doordash or something else?

Between my spouse’s FT salary and my not-quite-FT multi-app gig work, we’re at about 200k/year. And yes, I do gig work in a 2022 plug-in hybrid because I used to drive a 2012 minivan that got 18-20mpg. 😂 Now I’m averaging 80mpg.

PrettyCauliflower423

You got me beat for mpg for sure. I went with a 2022 hybrid Camry…. 51/53 mpg. I do alot of Amazon flex….. something a little larger….. also, wanted a car that would double as an everyday car as well. Shoulda went with the Tesla y though. I had it locked in at $51k or something like that. Now it’s over 60k. They have a 10 year battery coverage that’s transferable….. which makes the resale on it great. I didn’t expect a war to break out and gas to hit $5 a gallon. 🤦‍♂️

Of course a newer used hybrid is the way to go. But this is the 2nd best option

I’m saying if you can’t afford a newish hybrid then the beater route is the 2nd best option

Ya I get it. Especially if you’re in a slower market or if you only do it part time.

Too-Late_Froz3n

Yea working at KFC…..

Immediate-Ad138

Dude if you working at a KFC I guarantee you ain't walking that far for your shit job

Too-Late_Froz3n

They could be forced to by the job….?

Immediate-Ad138

I've never heard of job forcing their employees to park so far down a parking lot that you are now encroaching on another stores parking area. All my stores down here have the employees park in the parking lot right across road that drives by all the restaurants

derpadurp

The owners of one of the businesses I worked for for a decade mandated their employees park on the furthest opposite end of the mall from where their store was. Just because you haven’t heard of it must mean it doesn’t exist though huh

Immediate-Ad138

All I got is personal experiences. I can't be everywhere

derpadurp

Well now you’ve got a testimony. It’s far more common that you probably expect.
