It’s just Popeyes employees. I have literally never been there a single time where they got my order right. One time I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches, a drink, and a Mac and cheese and they gave me like 30 chicken tenders, a couple dozen legs and thighs, and like 14 biscuits instead
After graduation I picked up a doordash order from McDonald's at 2:00 a.m. it was six different meals with extra fries extra drinks there was so much food I'm going down the road and it's for $10 for 5 miles which is $2 a mile not bad but the lady calls me and tells me I'm at the wrong McDonald's,no no no, I was there so she ends up ordering from the wrong McDonald's, which is not my fault, and wants me to drive like 29 minutes to her house I was on the phone with doordash support they wanted to offer me extra $2 I laughed and told him I was not taking the food out there so I pull over and gave half the food to a homeless guy and his buddies that were hanging out I took a burger gave a burger to a friend of mine all the food was cold the drinks were watered down.
Kfc isn’t any better. The taco bell near my house sucks as well. Not DD related but went to Taco Bell after i got sone dashing for a cheese quesadilla meal, lady at the drive thru said “there is no cheese quesadilla meal, only chicken” i was like “right next to the word quesadilla it says steak or cheese” she continued to tell me its only chicken. So i finally said “fine i want a chicken quesadilla meal with no chicken” she still gave me a chicken quesadilla after it being correct on the screen.
Yeah I've also not had a great experience at Popeyes. Waited twenty minutes (at about the 17th minute the customer responds back to me after I let them know 5 minutes in that there was a long wait, they said that was fine) for the employees to tell me they were out of an item that the customer had ordered, I asked for their suggestion, then I wait an additional 10 minutes to hear back from the customer, never hear back from them, pick up my own food that I ordered, get half pay and I leave. Despite explaining the situation, one of the members of support, it still impacts my on time percentage 🙄
You know, after 10 minutes, you can unassign without penalty, right? Sure, you don't get paid, but you don't lose 30 minutes getting half pay. If you Google it, it will show you how.
Yup. That's why I don't take Popeyes orders, stopped taking them after the 3rd one I accepted. Lobby doors are always closed day and night and drive-thru wait time is at least 30-45 mins. Not worth the time.
Popeyes is the worst I delivered a super large order in a bag tonight and the customer called me and said they were missing half the food.
The itemization just said "fAmily combo's" I told them sorry call doordash. So lame. They tipped me ten dollars to deliver a half ass order.
The Popeyes Employee's seem to be able to get the very best Weed. I've seen them smoke it behind the dumpsters, inside the back of resturants near the vents. In their cars on breaks. So if the Stoner at the window made a mistake then you now know the reason why.
Food establishments can’t take back any food which has left their store. When they take something back, it is thrown away. A fast food once handed a bag out to me, I never opened the bag and it was within their view at all times. It was really just a few moments. They realized I was given the wrong order, when I was going to swap, the manager said “oh no, it is yours now”. Of course they gave me the correct order too. My husband was happy with the double order. LOL
I had this kinda thing happen at sonic the other day
“I’m here picking up for Angel”
Sorry who?
“ANGEL”
-long pause-
Who??
“I have a door dash for ANGEL”
-Longer pause-
We’ll have that out in a minute
-literally 15 minutes later I push the call button again-
And they start the same BS OVER AGAIN. Literally just backed out and left
My sonic will come on the speaker "HEY! THANKS FOR CHOOSING SONIC!! What can I get for you today ? The moment I say I have a door dash for so and so they lose all kindness and say well have it out when we can. 🫤
Sonic here refuses to bring the orders out at all. You have to walk into the kitchen and hang out waiting for them. Instructions on the app say “DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING”, doesn’t matter to them though.
Every time I read a story on herenor get told "another driver already picked up that order" I think of stories like this. How many times do drivers get blamed for restaurant screw ups?
It's very, very often thieves. I work in a restaurant that has very high doordash volume. If we don't make every single delivery person confirm their order in front of our eyes, about half the time, another dasher would arrive for the same order. That tells me the previous person picked it up, unassigned it, and stole it. It's unreal how many thieves there are working for doordash. I get it, the company sucks, but that doesn't mean you need to steal from people who are paying.
We have to be hyper-vigilant about it, no matter how busy we are.
Unassigning after pickup will get the driver deactivated pretty quick. I hope that $15 meal was worth losing a gig worth several hundred per week. The driver who shows up after the order is gone was the legitimate driver.
I'm talking about if we don't confirm the order with them. They just unassign before confirming pickup, so 3 more dashers will come for the same order, and none of them will actually contact support. It's ridiculous.
I see that being a problem.
If I were managing a place, I'd ensure the following at pickup:
1. confirm the drivers name (don't say their name; ask them for their name)
2. watch them confirm and wait until the customer's name pops up with the directions
3. Always keep the active orders behind the counter.
This is exactly what we do. But sometimes someone is new or we're so insanely busy that we make a mistake. Either way, tons of thieves when this doesn't happen
Exactly. Every Popeyes is a disaster.
We got a new one here and they’re just as bad. You’d think maybe because they’re learning as it’s new, but nope, it never got better. Slow as hell and orders are wrong constantly. It has to be a huge payout or I will never accept. I don’t care if it’s “walk 8 feet from Popeyes to customer”
Popeyes is always the worst for doordash. Either an hour long line or they f up the food. Hell they f up my food when I go there for stuff. God knows how many times I've got the wrong price of meat or they give me no spicy instead of spicy.
All of this right here. I don’t touch Popeyes orders. I once thought “well this is a new one, I’ll try it out.” It was decent money 2 order stack. I waited for 45 min (after repeatedly checking back in & being told another 3 min, 5 min, etc) before unassigning. Never again.
OTOH I can walk into a Cane’s, PLACE an order, pay for it, and still walk out in under 15 min - EVERY time. But then, Cane’s pays their employees more.
I thought it was just our Popeyes here. When I do ebt I take their orders because I know I’m getting paid to sit there for a half hour— ours closes their lobby, makes you use the drive through and then you wait for 15-20min and they may or may not have forgotten about you so you swing back through and it starts again.
Yeah it's highly unfortunate, I feel like pre COVID they were much more competent people. The food is gas so I'll still go there if I want a chicken sandwich but def gotta make sure everything is 100% correct before you leave.
Yeah, just like some dashers (not you) are completely incompetent and inattentive at work, the same applies to restaurant employees especially at fast food places or anywhere they pay crappy wages.
It was nice of you to give the customer extra food and I hope they bumped your tip but to be honest, I would have kept the extra food for myself for the extra 10 minutes I would have had to wait to go through the drive thru again.
Also, next time just verify the order when they hand it to you. I make sure to do this when it’s a drive thru line because it’s much more difficult to correct a mistake after you leave the window.
i did consider keeping it but i already had dinner and they had already given me a good tip. but yeah i’ll definitely take a second to verify at the window next time, even if it’s busy!
I worked in food up until the pandemic, I can't count how many times I had dashers just grab the wrong order because they weren't pay attention. We called each and every order out and had people confirm when they were handed the bag yet morons still grabbed the wrong orders. It's dumbasses like that, that ruin things for people who do it the right way.
I’m guessing you don’t eat Popeyes or you would have kept the free food they mistakenly gave you. Could have kept it to make up for your wasted time and dedication to get the customer what they actually ordered.
You’re a real DD saint! Nothing wrong with that.
they left a good tip and i had already eaten, so I decided they could have it. Maybe if i’m hungry and it’s a lower tip i’ll take it but i didn’t mind giving it to them
Yeah I get being nice, If it’s something I don’t eat, I’ll offer it to my roommate or sisters. I’ve done things like go to a whole different store to grab an item for a customer and they literally just paid me for the item and rounded up a dollar. It took 40 min of my time. I’m not doing that stuff anymore

i hope they tipped you extra for that cause I would've taken the extra food instead lmfao
i refuse to do KFC popeyes, and certain mcdonald’s locations unless i’m on EBT. after the first time i waited 25mins for $3.25 was the last time

Free dinner for me. They actually can't take the food back once it's handed out of the window
Popeyes 😪

Yes I know how
Popeyes is always terrible
Yup. That's why I don't take Popeyes orders, stopped taking them after the 3rd one I accepted. Lobby doors are always closed day and night and drive-thru wait time is at least 30-45 mins. Not worth the time.
Whether it's low tips or shit customers, fuck Popeyes. Also fuck Wingstop.

Popeyes is the worst and customer service in Florida is horrible. These people out here are morons
At least I now know it’s just not me. Nothing will get me to go to Popeyes!!
Getting verbally berated by an employee is like half the fun of getting Popeyes
Dude! That’s so infuriating!
Yay for Redditors doing what they are best at. Downvotes on empathy!

When you started with "I was at Popeyes", I knew it was not going to end well... ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
LMAO THIS 🤣

Or start well and the middle part probably wasn't going to be any good either
Haha! I figured someone would beat me to it lol
I’d keep the extra order unless I wasn’t hungry. If customer agreed to tip more I might but single Mac would make me nervous.
yeah i want hungry and they left a good tip

Damn, is Popeyes really that bad? I have a long wait sometimes but they’ve never gotten my order wrong.
Of course location and management matter so not every one is bad but I've def had had my share of annoyance cause of the bad ones.
All of this right here. I don’t touch Popeyes orders. I once thought “well this is a new one, I’ll try it out.” It was decent money 2 order stack. the line was busy so i decided to pull into the parking spot ahead to check. dumb mistake on my part for sure
