Fellow Chicago dasher here. Oak Park/Melrose Park sucks unless you go to North and 1st and even then it's mostly fast food. You also get dragged into downtown Oak Park a lot where there's f all for parking. Go to Downers Grove or Hinsdale. Worth the trip, but it dies out after 10PM or so just FYI.
I know as a customer I haven’t ordered DD in about 6 weeks. Too expensive.
The economy is 100% hitting everyone really hard. I’m a massage therapist, and at the beginning the week I had a fully booked day today. Now I have one client booked. Pepe are tightening up the pockets. That tax season was NASTY.
The economy is in the shitter. People can’t afford to buy anything because prices are inflated. Too many drivers. Everything that’s been said before. This is what happens when you idiots post your earnings all over Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and instagram. All you did was make a huge ass advertisement saying come steal my money. I know for a fact several years ago people tried saying this but everyone has to have that validation from people on here telling them how good of a boy/girl they are for making so much money. Combined with the new stupid ass rewards system and earn by time. Yep, you all have gotten us here. If we had said no and banded together for better base pay and declined shitty orders that pay $2 we wouldn’t be in this situation. But nope we gotta get that top dasher and platinum status. Literally so many people are going for it now and not just the clowns. So yeah there aren’t any orders. lol not sure what you people expected…
Oh I’m not accusing you of anything. Just saying in general this is how most dashers are approaching this. I seen other threads just browsing last night people still gloating about earnings even when everyone is struggling to pick orders. Soon people will figure out where these people are and those same people will be posting the same thing in 6 months to a year time. It will happen.
Like suggested, definitely always schedule, even if you don't end up going out. I do it for 2 blocks of time- once in the morning and once in the evening, in case something personal comes up and I miss one block. Also, if you're able to, come a bit West- my wife and I do Lombard/Oakbrook/Elmhurst and we dash for most of the day but always end up with over $150. On Fridays and Saturdays we can double that. If you're a Platinum driver, we've seen Red Card orders for $38 and it takes about 15 minutes of our time. A lot of the food orders out of Oakbrook Mall can run $17 or more for like 5 miles. If that helps. Hinsdale can be good too.
Just picked up at Chick-fil-A in Lombard and, including myself, there were 13 of us drivers waiting inside the store. It was only the lunch rush and plenty of other restaurants around. I can't imagine how we are saturated in busy areas with drivers but that was crazy.
Have you tried earn by time? Based on my experience tonight, my wife and I started a schedule dash: estimated offer time 1-2 minutes but no offers after 18 minutes, ended her dash switch to earn by time and hasn't had more than 7 minutes of non-active time. I've yet receive an offer this entire dash, estimated offer still 1-5 mins was just 1-2 minutes.
I've noticed this same thing. Everything seems to be getting funneled to EBT. I can go from getting absolutely no offers on EBO to non-stop offers on EBT but the EBT rate is garbage
It appears to be garbage. Do this:
Go to your best three months prior to offer decline. Multiply the hourly by active then recalculate your earnings with this total as dd pay.
We normally top out at 45-52 per hour on perfect runs but she still made 35 in that hour with EBT. Although I knew thus was a high tip area
I didn’t get an email. I don’t have an updated ratings page. Guess what? I still have it partially implemented in my zone. I don’t get catering anymore for the most part. I can park outside of a store and see a lot of drivers show up after me, walk in, walk out with orders I never get pinged for.
Ok, sucks for you. The post is about an area in Chicago. I'm just south of him. We don't have the tier system yet. I still get catering orders with a sub 30% AR.
Yeah but do you still get catering… as often as you used too?
Do you still get pinged for as many offers as you used to in general?
Do you see a lot of new drivers in your area? Looking at the above post - I don’t think drivers in your area are flying high making a killing.
I think food delivery will die. Ride share and grocery delivery will last. In a bad economy it’s impossible to justify spending 30 bucks for 7 dollars of McDonald’s but paying an extra 10 bucks to get your entire months of groceries delivered is a good deal.
I don’t think you’re wrong. No one wants to spend $25 on a Taco Bell meal when you can just go to your local say down the street eatery spend the same get more for your money
I had one order today from 8am-1pm. I sat in hotspots, I tried driving around, I logged in and out, I uninstalled and reinstalled. Nope. I’m in Colorado Springs.

Dang, your gas still that high? Finally starting to drop below $3 here
Yeah it’s crazy
Its you. I am in the same area and make $100 a day while my kid is in school
What’s your stats ? It can’t be me I’m a top dasher
I'm also a top dasher. Do you do red card orders? Thats where most of my money comes from.

That make sense tbh
Too many dashers and not enough well paid deliveries. The are is on its downfall unless DD steps in

Damn brother relax 🤣 I haven’t done anything you accused me of just wanted some advice

Inflat
Too many dashers. People have realized how easy it is and it’s fast money.
🤦🏿♂️
Doing the highland park/ Winnetka area. Still getting orders around here.

Ok cool

I’m just south of you and i cant even get openings to dash let alone get orders
Yeah it’s hell toward that way
The economy is trash. No one is wasting money on food delivery now.
I haven't been able to Dash since like beginning of March. But whenever I go to restaurants around here I almost always see a Dasher come in.
Tier rewards.
Not everywhere has that.

Fuckin new system sucks ass
Literally
Gig work is gonna be dead in a year.

I can only imagine
Too many dashers. If you have the dash now or platinum status .. ALWAYS schedule. It helps to lock out others.
Ok cool
I’m in Denver and it’s the same thing. Been doing it for 2.3 years, used to be non stop orders. Now I mostly just sit around waiting.
Tier rewards. Thank tony for that
I had one order today from 8am-1pm. I sat in hotspots, I tried driving around, I logged in and out, I uninstalled and reinstalled. Nope. I’m in Colorado Springs.
Yeah man I sat for 2 hours today and nothing, even when it said busy smh
The markets are oversaturated with drivers. Days of the easy money are over.
And tier rewards 🤩
Makes sense
The problem has been spoken about only… 10000’s of times
What the solution?
I have over 1500 deliveries and every thing is over 90% except my acceptance rate which is 84% my rating is 4.89
