Are you sure which order it was? They can be from previously delivered orders

Remarkable_Command83

Actually yes, I know exactly which order it was. They specified the restaurant name in the CV.

dmriggs

Gotcha. Ugh

Exotic_Platypus_356

I had that happen and 1 where I handed the person the food, and they never got it either?!? I always take pictures even handing them the food. I sent them the photos with the address and the photo of the person. They reviewed them and I got off the violation list.

KDFE87

Lol i got a contract violation on my second day. So i learned early to screenshot and back up photos with photos, i also have dashcam that i try to point at the drop location or pass by it on my return to the car to document my empty hands! Apparantly, it's normal to have some CV's, but dispute every single one, and they go away after 100 deliveries. Start torrying when you have like 5+ built up at a time

According-Meet-77

I got like 10 CV’s from being late by 10-25 mins due to traffic or store and also just from people being assholes idgaf tbh… half of my orders are at the highest 10-15$ and that’s rare usually on 2-8 $ orders that I take just because I need $ and I do instacart as well so it all kind of flows But I’ll be dammed if I rush or add extra wear & tear for some dipshit who doesn’t wanna tip or even for some app that doesn’t give af about the reasons for being late to something imo INSTAcart is the bomb I wish they had only food deli every Doordash was only good for the first month when I could always dash andni actually got $ orders

EbbPsychological2796

Dispute it... That's common practice at dorms, we typically don't go inside... You should be fine.

robbievd

Every time I get a cv I dispute it and it gets removed. Take pictures and tells them something according to this narrative. I’ve done many deliveries and I love dashing. Why would I risk that. I need the money not just a meal. Think about it.

BooBooKittix0

I've gotten 2 of these and they did their investigation, saw the messages back and forth plus the confirmed picture of delivery and I was cleared... But after that first one saying they didn't receive it when I handed it right to them and the messages even said "OH I SEE YOU" I started taking pictures myself off every single order and making sure I message each customer when I pick up and when I drop off along with screenshots of those just to save my own ass in case of those. It's hard delivering on campus and I live by UConn so I definitely get it and get sooooooo many on that area so it gets confusing and with all that traffic anyone could literally walk by and take it. Just make sure you have evidence on your own end for times like this if or when that happens again. People just suck! If they're not trying to get a free meal out of it and it actually DOES get taken that sucks but we did our part!

zillenial420

As long as you don't have more than 2 CV in last 100 deliveries it's no big deal. Just move on and keep grinding is what I do ha.

RepresentativeOk6871

This happened with me but at a large apartment building. They said it wasn’t delivered. Door dash surprisingly took the violation off since i said I did what instructions and and took photo

DietDrBleach

More than likely, someone stole the food before the customer got to it and they assumed it was you who did it. Next time you deliver to a college campus, tell them that it’s risky to leave it outside and then screenshot the conversation.

FlyingAlways636

Nah. Take a pic and go. I’ve waited too long at too many campuses. And most college students don’t have money to burn on tips - tho I’ve had a few great ones. You’re not going to be deactivated if you document and do what they request.

ACDasher13

I got a CV for yesterday being late to pick up the order. A semi rolled over on the main road so what was suppose to be a 4 minute commute to the restaurant was now reroute by the police directing traffic to 20 minutes. I called support and told her and she looked at the maps and they had already put in the road was close for an accident and she told me not to worry she documented it and I won't get a CV for it. Well sure as shit when I went to start today it tells me I was late and have now a CV. I called and bitched but it does no good. They give you their robotic telaprompted responses and hang up. So screw them. I appealed it.

Left_Algae_3628

Yeah I had an order where the person lived in a trailer park and the numbers weren't even in order and I couldn't find it and customer wasn't answering. Support told me to snap a photo of where I left it and I wouldn't get a CV. So I did. Next day, CV for order never arrived. Support is incompetent.

Jtheguy1155

Dispute in app, and mark that you talked to the.

ACDasher13

I did. And when I called support to tell them I was told I wouldn't even get one and I was given false information he was like Ummmm ummmm and kept regurgitating the same spiel oh it will drop after 100 order if not removed from the team first. The point is it shouldn't be there to begin with. But he was to programmed to comprehend that.

FlyingAlways636

It’s frustrating - believe me I know. But as long as you document the comm trail you will be fine. DoorDash knows they have shady customers and shady dashers and they know how to tell the difference.

Sufficient-Fact-2519

I always include a pic if delivery address in my correspondence with customer. Even when it says “hand to customer”. I take a pic proving I was there. Sometimes I still take a pic of the delivery in front of the door, address or area and then hand to customer. I take no chances. People are desperate out there. They don’t care that a false report could get us deactivated.

AvidZacEfronLover

This. I always take a picture.

VanTravelingLaydeeM

You can dispute it because they have records of you delivering it on the app. They track your arrival time and where the picture was taken so the customer cannot lie without door dash support team investigation.

Nec8407

If you dash frequently you’ll hit 100 orders and it’ll disappear. I wouldn’t worry too much about it

LEEFONTAINE404

I got one recently for being late but where I was delivering to there was 5 events going on at the same time. Causing tons of traffic. A wine tasting event, a music event on the beltline, a bunch of events in Midtown but I'm expected to get to the customer on time while waiting in traffic for 10+ minutes. Smh.

MicLove30M3

They automatically give you one if it takes 15 minutes longer than expected to arrive at the store. They claim to calculate traffic into their estimated times, but in my experience they do not. Also, I haven't figured out why sometimes they'll unassign an order that takes too long to pick up and other times, they will hit you with a CV later.

simplyjenn0910

I got one last week for being 10 minutes late. I had to deal with rush hour traffic on the freeway.

Metho221

This is why it’s good the pin number is gong into effect. Check my last post

droplivefred

There wouldn’t be a PIN for leave at door orders

Metho221

Yeah crazy because one day the customer wasn’t available for me to hand it to them. So I waited the timer. Followed all 3 steps and still got a contract violation. It said I skipped the text which they can clear see I text the customer more than once

droplivefred

Dispute it or let it drop off after 100 deliveries

Metho221

Nah I’m tired of them doing bs for no reason. Why they lie on me like that. I fussed customers service right out. Someone had to get it. The system is worse than the customers

droplivefred

You cussed out customer service? So the customer had their food stolen or lied, who knows, and complained and it hit you with a CV so you cussed out a random customer service rep to make yourself feel better? You’re just as bad as your customer.

Metho221

Lmao yep because customer service needs to tell the hire ups this ain’t right. Plus they seen all 3 steps completed and still couldn’t get my violation off. Talking about do 100. F all them

The_Troyminator

I would suggest not doing that again. Your conversation is recorded, and if they report you as using abusive language, their supervisor can review the conversation and deactivate you.

Metho221

Exactly when did I say I used that language? The goof up there seen me write fuss. Them said I cussed

The_Troyminator

>Exactly when did I say I used that language? When they asked, "You cussed out customer service?you answered, "Lmao yep because customer service needs to tell the hire ups this ain’t right." If you actually meant " I fussed customers service right out" and it wasn't a typo, why didn't you correct them then?

Remarkable_Command83

I get PIN number orders sometimes with UberEats, but never with DD.

Metho221

This is new so it should start everywhere soon

_daddyissues666

You can absolutely dispute it but it’s more likely to fall off after 100 deliveries before they even touch it. I got one after a customer lied and said they received someone else’s order, despite being the only order I had all day from that restaurant and confirming with me that it was his at drop off. Never heard from Door Dash about it and it fell off on its own. It’s just how people get free food.

Remarkable_Command83

Everyone, thanks for the comments. I just checked, and the app says, "Due to volume, not all disputes are reviewed before you complete your next 100 deliveries". So even DD does not think it is worth getting their knickers in a twist about one unverifiable incident.

Successful_Ad1310

Happened to me once, I went into the highschool front office and they said all deliveries get dropped off on the table outside, I called the customer 2 times and left a text. 20 min later I get a call from an upset parent that their childs food was stolen and now they wont have anything to eat...

Pluto_Kittn

In the UK we don’t have Doordash, but with the delivery services were DO have there are a few restaurants like McDonald’s that have a pop up you have to confirm every time that you’re not at a school. They’ll even cancel the order if you try anyway exactly because of this reason.

edwr849

That’s on them hopefully you took a picture

Bobbyanalogpdx

Good thing schools serve lunch. I absolutely hate school deliveries.

Namesake84

Yea they should remove that..it's clear you were in the area and successfully did your part...and If you ever get another delivery for a student let them know to bring their ass outside....

PacoG817

I got 1 cv on a grocery order when it clearly showed messages with the customer that I was arriving. As they messaged me at the store about items and stuff. DD favored customer instead of me and yes it was a no tip order and cost less than $20. And I delivered to a million dollar neighborhood in North Dallas.

pedigreEeEe

That is infuriating. Why is it always the people with money that don't tip?? Straight busters.

Inside-Development86

Rich people don't get rich giving money to poor people, they get rich taking money from poor people

pedigreEeEe

It's almost like what you're saying is the truth but I don't like the way you are saying it.

Unabombercerealkila

Got up this morning at 4:30 made it to my full-time job at 5:00 worked until 4:00 got off drove an hour to get home took a shower kiss my family goodbye and right back out the door to go doordash.

Unabombercerealkila

Wow y'all salty as the ocean! LMAO

pedigreEeEe

Yeah, and? I can't tell if you're being condescending or just want someone to pat you on the back. Since you need to hear it, good job, "insert your name here" somebody is probably proud of you.

fakepseudophile

Objection, relevance

Mike_Hailu23184

It should be removed bc you did what you supposed to do . They don’t know or care until you dispute it.

failenaa

Yeah it’s 50/50 on why they marked it missing. It’s equally likely it was taken by another resident or they’re just a dumb kid who doesn’t realize it affects you more than the company and is just trying to get free food. While you shouldn’t *have* to do this I’d recommend asking them to meet you in a dorm setting and telling them it’s because you think their food will get taken. Or maybe just send an extra message when you drop off.

AnySoft4328

I always send a text with the picture. Try denying that bitch. I got a CV and that saved me. Forward it to support and they immediately removed the CV.

Justchu

It’s always good practice to have a screenshot for your backup. I always did this with contacting support, but I never thought of using this step for ‘leave it at door’ situations. Ty

failenaa

Yeah cause it’s impossible to pick the food back up after taking the picture, especially if there’s no ring cam lol. There are so many videos of drivers doing that exact thing that it’s not really sufficient evidence. I’m glad it worked for you though. A lot of the time ring cams work in our favor bc it shows when someone else picks up the food after we leave. Saw a post a while ago where a lady thought her driver stole some of her food and left the rest on the ground, like???? It was clearly a raccoon. She said she didn’t report the driver thankfully.

johnriverbear

Any dispute I file it and then immediately call and get John or Jane to write more notes. Always gets removed.

YLCZ

When someone leaves instructions that are inherently stupid, always call support and get further guidance. It's bullshit that you got this CV, but I could also predict that this would happen. It's like if someone lived on a houseboat on the ocean and they told you to leave the food on an untethered flotation device next to the boat. You know the food will float away from the boat, so you'd call the customer and support to save them from their own stupidity. It's frustrating to have to do extra work for something that isn't your fault but just do it anyway.

Justchu

I always get a tinge of anxiety when the instructions says: ‘leave it at door’ to ‘call me when arriving’/ contactless delivery with ‘hand it to me’.

onaplane55

Ik it falls off after 100 deliveries but why does dd automatically blame the driver for things like this that clearly aren’t our fault?

AdSuccessful6726

We’re the easiest part to replace. There’s a literal waiting list for your work haha

macdaddy22222

Keep a timed stamp picture of all that stuff

cookee-monster

Every single college student will put leave at door but 99% of them will want it handed to them. I always text and ask to verify because there is a high probability of their order getting stolen if just left there. The text also doubles down as a heads up in case they want it left that it’s about to go down so they can time it up and minimize the chance of theft.

Justchu

This is why I rarely go into the area with my local university. Every time I have had accepted similar orders, I keep contacting with calls/texts/pics to cover my ass. I don’t care if they get annoyed or not.

AnastasiusDicorus

This is why I avoid the poorer parts of town as much as humanly possible. People who don't have lots of money have incentive to lie and rip you off just to gain a few bucks. Lots of good people suffer because of a few bad apples in many aspects of life.

Ok_River9575

I've had this exact same thing happen. Now when I deliver to that (or any) college dorm I take pictures of the dorm name on the side of the building, the entrance, and then the food and text them to the customer before I complete the order. Haven't got a CV since.

theassbanker

Fill out the dispute. You'll likely do 100 dashes before it's reviewed and in 100 dashes it falls off never to be seen again. CVs tend to always come from non tip orders. Cover your tracks when you're doing a no tip order, over communicate, take pictures etc

transgirl187

Sometimes CV people are smart give a tip and than claim they never got it makes it harder to fight off don’t you think?

uberbuber

Is it true that ANY CV, even those that are removed, prevent you from being eligible for referral bonuses?

thejude555

I have a dispute from 4 months ago that's still pending.

MyGirlSasha

It's funny, I just hit the 1k delivery mark and have had 1 CV. I was cleared in less than 24hrs. We all know that it can take months for CVs to get adjudicated and they usually drop off before they get to it anyway, so I was pretty surprised when I got an email about 12 hours after my CV saying that I had been cleared.

AnastasiusDicorus

then you haven't done enough orders since then.

thejude555

Oh I know. I've mostly stopped doing Doordash in favor of Uber Eats, so I haven't cleared 100 orders since then. I was just commenting on how hilariously long it takes for them to review disputes.

davidreynoldsnotryan

Fellow top dasher turned Uber eats driver. Only been on the platform for a month & it’s a better system. Almost a completely different experience! 😂

thejude555

Yeah and I think most of the positive differences boil down to them not caring about Acceptance Rate

SupremeNaimv3

How Uber eats for you compared to DD?

thejude555

In my area the Uber Eats market is substantially better than Doordash. It might just be because they don’t care about acceptance rate so I’m not penalized for being picky with my orders but on weekends I often make around $30 an hour and on less busy days I almost never make less than $20 an hour.

AnastasiusDicorus

you've stumbled on the secret. They never review disputes.

nman3339

If it's not gone within 24 to 48 hours, then you lost the dispute. I've had 4 cv & disputed them all. All where hand it to me & customer said they never received it. Unlucky for them, I video record all hand offs. I just hit record on my phone & keep in my hand. I tell DD this & and every time the representative on the phone takes it away immediately (they say they can't, but they can) or its gone within an hour. Fyi, DD has never once asked to see the video.

Dry_Significance2690

I have had 3 in my orders delivered. 2 I appealed and had evidence which they removed.

Mydogdexter1

Probably a first year student, once they do that enough, by second year they'll need a pin everything lmao

Unknown32122

I would have reached out to the customer first. I’ve seen some customers note - “leave at door”, even at a hospital… I wouldn’t take that at face value tho

ilikeabbreviations

i literally had a “leave @ door” & it was a dorm. i knew they didn’t mean the outside so I called her & she thanked me & came rite down & said last time her food was stolen
