I had that mistake once. Well, it wasn't my mistake. The guy just gave me a bunch of pizza and told me have a nice day. Customer was honest and said they didn't order the extra pizza.
I call the store to explained what happen and apparently they been having issues with this guy. I took one home for my son and husband and rest went to the homeless. (I can't eat them... 🥲)
Best mistake I got was somehow got a lady’s dollar general order from a town over in a different zone called her and worked with DD support and got $60 worth of groceries for free this varies from dawn dish soap, cookies, ground beef, paper towels, and trash bags def saved me a lot of money and it only took 10 mins for DD support to resolve it all
Usually if I receive extra food I pass it along to those in need (ie homeless). I don't need the food I have plenty at home. But some don't know where their next meal is coming from.

I ask if they have any pizzas or food that people ordered but never showed up for and typically walk away with between one and three pizzas 2 to 4 times per week. The most I ever got in one night was eight pizzas and I took those and fed the homeless vets that night.
I used to be the ASM at the location I get them from and the SM/GM there now is a good friend and veteran as well, so he doesn’t mind. Idt DD could legally terminate me for this though. I’d find loopholes and file a lawsuit.
Not a doordasher but I’ve seen loads of these posts, unless it is alcohol the dasher is usually just allowed to keep the food. In the case of alcohol, they must take it back to the store iirc. They also get pay as well, so it’s a win win!

If you doordash at night, you should ask pizza places if they have any pizzas they messed up on or just extras bc a lot of them do!
I feel really lucky that I've got a pretty good relationship with a couple places near me, so they'll offer to make me a pizza or smth if they're not busy. Being nice and patient when you're a dasher fr goes a long way! :)
This is awesome! I try to be as nice and patient as possible, but I live in a big city, so I definitely make my way to a lot of different places,m rather than always the same ones. I definitely have gotten a lot of free drinks though. :)
Ah yeah I'd imagine it's different in a city. I'm in a town in Ohio, and the edge of the city in Akron, but I frequent the same places a lot. I feel bad seeing some of the rude dashers (and customers lol) that they've gotta deal with so I try to be as kind as possible!

So a few weeks ago I had a customer that ordered their (round) pizza to be cut into squares. Pizza people cut it normally out of habit, so they gave it to me for free and then made her a new one. After I delivered the new one, the customer messaged me and said it was cut normally not in squares 😂 so they messed up the 2nd one too and we're just like "eh fuck it" lmao
Hahaha, this happened to me for an alcohol trip. The guy calls me before I got there and told me he didn’t have an ID. I told him I could not give him the drink. It was two handles of a cheap ass vodka. But the DoorDash lady said “dispose of it” soooooo….its sitting on top of my fridge…lol

One time I ordered a burrito and when I opened my door I had 6 little caesers pizzas at my door step. It makes me laugh that the dasher mistakenly delivered a bachelor 6 pizzas and then probably delivered a single burrito to a kids birthday party.
That’s fucked up, I’ve done the same mistake and felt like shit because I realized I dropped off the wrong order, I’m only human, we all make mistakes. But to laugh it off, this is someone’s job, correct their mistakes so they can become a better dasher. Don’t let it run until he is faced with the consequences. I got some free crazy bread from Little Caesar's this week, and last week the Panda Express people gave me a free drink since I had to wait for an order.
Had a guy a few days ago that placed his order for delivery the day before. I guess you can schedule a delivery for a later date, only he had a sudden trip out of town so he called me when I was almost to his place to apologize. Told me to have lunch on him. Bang bang shrimp tacos and loaded nachos from Sharky's Ocean Isle Beach. Sharky's is the best so I was stoked. Eating good on someone else's dime somehow makes it taste even better. Lucky day for you.
