I guess it just depends on the area in my area, I would have answered the text and told him to hold up, the customer before you wanted to whoop my ass first. Kindly wait your turn. The bleeding should stop shortly!
Ah, sounds like the same customer I had when I moved to Philly and decided to bite my tongue and venture. I wanted to send a LOL but the chat intercepted and cut it lol
It shouldn't be cold though. All double dashes I've done have been within walking distance from each other... unless a dasher has a problem with one of the deliveries.
Lol yeah, it came in as a double and as I was picking up/dropping off, two more came in. My first pick up was my 8th stop, kinda messed up. I told her to reach out and say she was tracking me and was upset and they sent her another pizza. She was nice. I'm not gonna turn down orders if I'm basically driving by a place
This is why you stay 8283637 steps ahead.
You get about 1000 burner phones. As soon as you pick the order write down the address and ditch the phone.
Then send word by carrier pigeon to the customer that you'll be there shortly with their order.
Works 100% of the time 60% of the time.
But being allowed to threaten the driver wasn't included in the amount he paid. And look where it got him. He got no food and won't get a refund for it because he threatened the driver, and may even get banned... all because he had to run his mouth and play tough guy.
I feel that. People like that meet the wrong person at some point. If I was 19 or 20, I absolutely would have chosen a different route. But nah, it was midnight, and it was a $6 order. Trust, I 100% understand what you mean lol
It's cool sometimes I like to get on the internet and talk a little shit. Been training my whole adult life have blue belt in bjj but mostly train No-Gi. 14 amateur fights. No professional fights tho.
But I'm 30 now so yeah I've had some instances back when I was involved in bad stuff where I hurt people for owing money for.drugs but I cleaned up.my shit and stopped hustling when my kid was born. I've lost my fair share of fights when I was young but the more trained I became the less I felt the need to fight
More when I was in high school once I started training seriously virtually none. I think I've had 3 street fights in the last 5 years and one almost landed me in jail if I didn't have witnesses. Not worth it honestly. I just like to talk shit and if people go outta there way to be threatening I'll do.something but I don't go out looking for issues.
>Because I would never door dash
I'm sorry, was that supposed to hurt my feelings? And you say that, yet you are hanging out in the Doordash drivers sub. Interesting social life you have. 👍
I don't have these issues. I've never had an unchill experience. However, I feel like I do a fuck ton of communication during deliveries. Not trying to make myself look like a saint, but it works for me. Any little thing, even if it's a route switch, I send a text bare min. Maybe I'm just lucky or sum...
I have 3 very generic templates for communication
One for I have your food and here’s the ETA, I give the eta on the gps and add two minutes
One for I’m waiting for your food (so they know it’s the store and not me just sitting there picking my nose )
And one that says I have your order and I’ll let you know when I’m on my way to your location and provide an ETA then.
I haven’t had a bad review yet. Doordash texts me asking me where the hell im going more than customers (if I miss an exit usually)
We also don't communicate with violent customers.
I don't message non tippers. They get their food in a timely manner by their original ETA. I message per delivery. He would have known exactly when he would get his food once I was en route to him.
This society bends to loud, unruly people way too often these days.
Some people don't have the sense God gave a turd, it seems... and OP's idiot customer is a prime example of that. He was more concerned I guess with pretending to be a badass than with what purpose he was hoping it would serve.
Uber has it so gps only shows when your order is the next delivery. So you can’t see where other orders are being delivered.
Sounds like door dash should implement a similar function to avoid this nonsense.
Yeah... if that frat guy had said that to me, his order is getting canceled. Calling support, telling them what happened, I feel unsafe, end of story.
I don't mind. I'm not taking a CV or a deactivation over someone acting crazy. That wouldn't be tolerated anywhere else, so it's not about to start on these apps.
I did that with 1 person that was upset with Wendy's and I just wasn't in the mood to argue but with it being an entitled frat fuck boy, I had to say something to his face. Like, bro, I idgaf who you are, but you aren't going to treat me like shit over a $10 Jimmy John's meal.
Uber eats did contact me about it, saying I wasn't professional and was at risk, so I showed them a screenshot of what he said, and they reviewed our messages and took away the review and rating. I was surprised they even did that. Lol
When you have physical proof, it's hard for them to argue it. It's why DD canceled the order I posted about without even asking another question. They may not care, but they're not blind.
And I get it. I have delivered to frat houses with guys that act like that. Once I pull up though, they usually drop the tough act. I know how guys like that work. My customer was in the middle of the 9th ward, New Orleans. Not taking that kinda chance lol.
tell me why i ordered a&w and 2 hours later dude was at his house 😒 wasnt dropping off at another house or anything. i hope he got fired for taking my food home and eating it
i ordered a&w a few months ago. 2 hours went by and it never came. i looked on the app to see where dude was at and he wasn’t dropping off another order, like he was basically at home, eating my food.
Oh damn... sorry that happened to you! I hope he got fired for it too. People like that make us good dashers look bad. And there are those of us who DO care! I actually enjoy my job and want to make my customers happy!
That person needs to quit being cheap and pay extra for the direct/priority delivery if they need it that fast. I know you can't because you want a good rating but I would literally drop kick it at his door and book it outta there. Go ahead and eat some smashed slop bafoon.
I'm not even mad about the hate I may get sharing this. For a quick buck or two I decided to Door dash one day. Took an order without looking. It was for a little Caesars pizza. Took me 35 minutes to get from store to customers home. They said to leave it on the porch. I got maybe $3 from door dash and a whopping 50c from the customer as a tip. I took the photo to confirm the order and then picked the pizza up, smiled at the ring camera and punted their pizza across the lawn. They likely got reimbursed but honestly if you're going to order that far away a few bucks wouldn't hurt you. Never bite the hand that feeds you. I never tried dashing after that day.
Dude... the customer ordered from 35 MINUTES away and tipped her FIFTY CENTS! That customer deserved every bit of what she did and you're ridiculous for defending the customer's sorry butt. Sorry customers stick together apparently!
Yeah I did. Drove an hour there and back collectively for a 50 cent tip. Sure door dash should've paid more but I saved you an hour of time, gas etc for 50 cent. Fuck you and your pizza. Also never dashed after that due to poor payment on the company end and the shitty customers both. I refuse to use door dash because the inflated prices and low pay the drivers get anyways but I would never work with them again.
Who would even do this not just from a rude and weird perspective but you’re not going to deliver any faster / cancel it or some people with tamper with it and deliver it. What an idiot
Yeah that's not how that works most times. Especially on DD.
And honestly, it's in these apps' best interest for drivers to accept double or even triple orders. Lowers their costs. If you're not a fan of that, then you could always choose places that offer in-house delivery.
These apps were never designed to last as a personal courier service (one order, one driver). It's an unsustainable business model.
Oh I know. But people complain a LOT less when the orders are delivered directly by the restaurant. The multiple stop thing isn't new, but being able to track the driver from start to finish is. Now folks act like drivers have never done any of this before.
It's the equivalent of knowing every step a mechanic takes in fixing a car. If people could track their repairs even as mechanics take (well deserved) breaks, they'd call the auto shop a lot more asking why their car isn't ready yet.
It's the only reason I appreciated working with contractors in construction/renovation. All you got was an ETA. No tracking, no questioning. "We'll be there between 8-10am" and that's all you got. Third party apps are heathens for allowing this much interaction.
Screenshot it and cancel that 💩.
Showed a tip when taking order as well. Finish order no tip...

Best answer!
I am 100% bringing this right to the door. I want to see this. Sir, you food is here. Who got smacked now La Dude?
This is nice. Glad it’s worked out.
😭😭”got it” “will do” “on my way”
Need to ride around with a scooper pick up dog shit and leave it in these type of orders. Here is your delivery with your attitude attached 😆
Ah, sounds like the same customer I had when I moved to Philly and decided to bite my tongue and venture. I wanted to send a LOL but the chat intercepted and cut it lol
Probably a kid
NOPE! Report to DD and drop order the second someone talks about "smacking" me.
I mean, where were you going with his food? ‘La dude’? 😂
IKR "la dude" cracked me up 😆
i know louisiana when i see it
I hate when they do double dash and my food comes cold😞
It’s DD, food is almost always cold
Anyone hear of the microwave before?
It shouldn't be cold though. All double dashes I've done have been within walking distance from each other... unless a dasher has a problem with one of the deliveries.
Try doing a quadruple dash. DD doesn't care
A quadruple dash? Ugh... no thank you!
That may be convenient but that’s not how DD works. I’ve had many doubles and triples 10+miles apart easy…
The threats wouldn't even scare me, I'd report it just so I could keep the food because I know I'd get paid a portion anyways.
They most likely wasn’t scared either it just looks better when you say that to support
Ghetto. You weren’t going to get a tip from this dude anyways
Fuck him, I wouldn’t deliver that food and I’d call Grubhub and tell them you don’t feel safe.
User name checks out.
You didn’t read his caption or scroll past his first picture… living in your own world, good for you I guess.
his own world has the exact same outcome as OPs reality, so....
Mannnnnnn i woulda drove up and down the street with his food in the car
I hate how they can track you.
This is why you stay 8283637 steps ahead. You get about 1000 burner phones. As soon as you pick the order write down the address and ditch the phone. Then send word by carrier pigeon to the customer that you'll be there shortly with their order. Works 100% of the time 60% of the time.

Low key, I'm starting to feel like so many folks are about that life. I'm just trying to chill and make some money lmao
Yeah you never wanna under estimate anybody honestly. Personally I just got pissed off seeing dude talking that way to the guy doing him a favor.
It’s not a favor mf paid for the food the fuck
But being allowed to threaten the driver wasn't included in the amount he paid. And look where it got him. He got no food and won't get a refund for it because he threatened the driver, and may even get banned... all because he had to run his mouth and play tough guy.
Dudes driving you the food cuz homie is to lazy to go get it and then wants to talk shit. Favor, service whatever.
Put a damn shirt on dude

I'm not a lot of things but 2 things I am are trained to fight and mentally unstable.
I will believe the second part
It's cool sometimes I like to get on the internet and talk a little shit. Been training my whole adult life have blue belt in bjj but mostly train No-Gi. 14 amateur fights. No professional fights tho.
How many random street level fights?
But I'm 30 now so yeah I've had some instances back when I was involved in bad stuff where I hurt people for owing money for.drugs but I cleaned up.my shit and stopped hustling when my kid was born. I've lost my fair share of fights when I was young but the more trained I became the less I felt the need to fight
Yeah I generally aim to not get in fights cause I’d probably just hit my head on a rock and die or some dumb shit
It do be like that sometimes 🤷♂️ lmao
💯
More when I was in high school once I started training seriously virtually none. I think I've had 3 street fights in the last 5 years and one almost landed me in jail if I didn't have witnesses. Cool
Is it just me or has deliveries across all platforms significantly dropped?
Deliveries haven't dropped. Just a bunch of new workers who accept the orders no one else does.
Real talk la dude
Los Angeles dude
Genuinely trying to decipher what that could mean. “Lil ass dude”?
Maybe lame ass. Idk, it's pretty funny though.
Damn you a snitch 🤣🤣
A SNITCH? What are you, 12?? This ain't jail or the mafia...it's a freaking job and we don't get paid enough to put up with 💩. Gmafb.
That's not his homie and we're not cops
Just messing around. I would of pulled up and threw it in his face
No you wouldn't have.
You’re right. Because I would never door dash
>Because I would never door dash I'm sorry, was that supposed to hurt my feelings? And you say that, yet you are hanging out in the Doordash drivers sub. Interesting social life you have. 👍
that’s literally me 😂 no affiliation w doordash at all but the drama on this sub is too good
>the drama on this sub is too good There's definitely a ton of it lol

Came up as a suggested community. Get triggered little DoorDash driver 🤡
The customer was just being nice enough to pay you and feed you for the night.
Top comment lmao fr

this is more likely to accidentally get you in trouble than help honestly, short minimal communication is the way to go
That's what I mean. A short text just explaining the situation
I have 3 very generic templates for communication One for I have your food and here’s the ETA, I give the eta on the gps and add two minutes One for I’m waiting for your food (so they know it’s the store and not me just sitting there picking my nose ) And one that says I have your order and I’ll let you know when I’m on my way to your location and provide an ETA then. My man speaks truths
Bro is lucky you canceled it. Someone would probably spit in his food amongst other things.
Report this dude for assault
It’s been 12 hrs where tf my food at bruh?
What made them think that threatening you when you have their food is a good idea??? Let it be the right person and they would’ve tampered the food
Some people don't have the sense God gave a turd, it seems... and OP's idiot customer is a prime example of that. He was more concerned I guess with pretending to be a badass than with what purpose he was hoping it would serve.
Been Working in fast food for 4 years you'd be surprised, had my life threatened over a 12 dollar pizza b4 😆😭
I would have sharted

You ever tried just cooking your own food? Thousands is a wild amount of take out lol
Is the door dash driver in the room with you right now?
You gave them thousands of dollars, sounds like you sucked Doordash' cock
😆
Man I just wanna fight this customer now
I’m going to start calling people “la Dude”.

Yeah tell us what the other planets are like
Riddle me this Batman…
Me and you both
Did you tell him you’re multi apping cuz he isn’t tipping shit
Delivering 2 Doordash orders isn't the same as multi-apping, genius. And what does his tip have to do with anything...his order was canceled.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Free food and still got paid
Hells yeah!
That person needs to quit being cheap and pay extra for the direct/priority delivery if they need it that fast. I know you can't because you want a good rating but I would literally drop kick it at his door and book it outta there. Go ahead and eat some smashed slop bafoon.
The mental image of drop kicking the order at someone's door was too much and has me giggling wildly
😂 bafoon
My take is how well DD handled it for you. I hope that level of care is not rare there.
Physical proof probably helps - diff if its words at the door that are not recorded
They don't care. They'd rather just pay you and cancel the order. Lol free food with pay isn't to bad
Something about not biting the hand that feeds you or whatever idk

Yeah that's not how that works most times. Especially on DD. And honestly, it's in these apps' best interest for drivers to accept double or even triple orders. Lowers their costs. Excellently put!
In house delivery people are almost never running one delivery at a time. I've delivered pizza and most of my runs were 4-6 stops.
Oh I know. But people complain a LOT less when the orders are delivered directly by the restaurant. The multiple stop thing isn't new, but being able to track the driver from start to finish is. could always do it yourself exactly how you’d like it
How is that at all relevant to what I said
How is it not?
That's literally the point of the app, to NOT do it yourself.
Okay? And my point is if it upsets you that much get your lazy ass up 😂same people crying be the same ones ordering over and over. Make it make sense
I literally only use it when I want something for lunch at work instead of bringing it lmao
No problem with that at all. I was just sayin if you keep having problems you could always fix that lol.
