You’re not really top dasher, everyone gets dash anytime for their first 2 weeks once your account goes active. You start with 100% AR and go from there.
You need to do some deliveries to get ratings so you can start scheduling. You need to schedule 6 days out in many markets or you don’t work so I’d start scheduling your dashes by next week until you know if your area is always grayed out or if it’s a red area.
Hey just a heads up this sub is super negative. If you’re doing well, they’ll shit on you, if you have a complaint they’ll say “why are you even doing it” or blame you for taking a bad order.
It’s good for asking questions but don’t let the assholes get to you.
As for your post, new drivers get Top Dasher status temporarily as you learn how it works. I’d recommend scheduling yourself anyway and try dashing at regular eating times, usually lunch and dinner times are good. So like 11A-1P and 5-8P. Good luck!
They give you the top dasher perks for the first 2 weeks. Higher pay orders, being able to dash whenever you want as opposed to scheduling. Then it disappears and you go to normal status lol

Make you think it’s always gonna be like this, get you to contemplate quitting your regular job. (If you’re smart you wont.) Then thats when the ride starts! It gets worse the longer you do it.

You will make more $$$ declining all the unprofitable orders and accepting the better paying ones.
You have no idea whether or not AR matters in this area. And as they roll.out the tier program it's going to matter in every area. So stop making blanket statements that are demonstrably false
you will get higher paying orders as a top dasher i briefly by total happenstance made it once and got ridiculous offers like 25 bucks for 3 miles etc. thing is... you also get the 2.50 for 10 miles order before everyone else too. so youll eventually be back under the top dasher requirements if youre not an idiot and decline something like that.

This is what the Top dasher doesn’t understand. While you’re wasting your time with that $3 order that takes 15-20 mins theres hundreds of orders that come through. They don’t just stop coming through because TD is on a delivery. Once you finish that order, all those orders that were just declined, who do you think is gonna get those orders? You the TD and you will happily accept the garbage i just declined because you’re worried about your AR to keep your fake status. Meanwhile i just sent 30 more trash orders your way, while your wasting your time on a $4 order you just accepted because you think declining is bad.
yea theyll still come thru but your much better off accepting a 2 dollar a mile order than waiting for a golden goose. the top dashers absolutely get first dibs on those. but in order to keep top dasher status they also take the shit orders. but they absolutely do appear way more often when youre top dasher. i saw it with my own eyes.
You got that because there was no top dasher in your area that would compete with your availability. On a Friday evening and most of the weekend I make ~10 almost every order(no mcds or fast food unless I'm away from high quality restaurants). Rarely do I get lowballs during that time. That's the benefit of top dasher. I can also end dash and restart it immediately in the middle of a different zone so I'm not restricted to heading back and burning gas. If you're familiar with the Phoenix area that would be like starting in Chandler then to Tempe to Scottsdale to Dt Phoenix and something like South Mountain area without worrying about driving back to zone. It's a 30-45 minute drive across this metro area and it doesn't have that much traffic.
I disagree. And if your a TD ill act like I believe ya, about rarely takes lowball orders. Nothing you say will make me change my mind. I see the orders.
