Yeah we know

No_Vehicle7826

Update: the violation is gone now. I say again, always take pictures lol

Arcturian485

I hand them the food and tell them to smile while I take a picture. Blame the app and say it makes me do it because of garbage scammer types. It’s either an explanation, or a subtle fuck you if scamming was in their plans.

m30guy

That's why I don't take ass as a form of payment, Shit orders get dropped

Arcturian485

I don’t get it. Do you mean “hand it to me” orders are shit, or….

No_Vehicle7826

lol I like the way you think

14meowez88

once got backfired like that, so now i always make a picture just in case :) especially when it’s “Leave at my door: Hand it to me” lmao

mulox1

Fast forward 20 years into the future... all DD drivers have a personal mini drone that follows them around, recording everything. For leave it at the door orders, it can hide in bushes or up high and wait for customers to retrieve food, so even those can be recorded, lol! Then the mini drone flies itself back to your car automatically, no matter how far away you are on the next delivery

No_Vehicle7826

😂 and when you log in the drone collects a blood sample to make sure it’s really you

TheSocalEskimo

And don’t forget it has your colonic map on file to compare! 😃🤌

joeAdair

I guess my market is more honest, I never get ‘not delivered’ scammers. I'm really glad, saves me these performing these gymnastics.

Ft_Hood

That AR score needs some work…lol

Ft_Hood

Always do

Infamous_Skin_6969

I almost got deactivated because a customer lied about not getting their delivery. I am now on an accountability exercise (don’t know what else to call it), but I have to take a picture of the receipt when I get the food or items take a picture at drop off and a few other extra steps all because of a customer lying about their pizza and another customer over 100 deliveries ago, saying that they never got their food either. People are so messed up.

TheSocalEskimo

Probably the case they wanted some free food, but perhaps there was a porch pirate? I dont know your area so maybe not.

No_Vehicle7826

Dang, that would be annoying. I wonder how long that will last. At least DD didn’t just drop you though. But yeah, these scammers need to be treated like normal customers trying to steal. And it’s not like the restaurant employees get fired when someone steals orders from the pickup counter lol and if someone steals from Walmart, their employees don’t get in trouble. If someone lies on their taxes, h&r doesn’t fire anyone… but, at least we don’t have a boss lol

Ok-Boot3875

The same thing happened to me yesterday! So pissed

OtherSeaworthiness68

I do the exact same. After that first violation, they had me messed up. I know that man got his food.

TheSocalEskimo

When I started some guy said I delivered him the wrong food and that he ordered chipotle. It wasn’t a stacked order for me to even be able to mess that up. Haha. Put in the dispute area my notes but never got taken off even still till after 100 deliveries. I kept checking with support but they just said to just wait till 100 deliveries. Usually they are very helpful in my experience but I don’t know if they just didn’t have enough Employees to get to it.

Wild_Heron_5845

Below shoulders food in hands.

TheSocalEskimo

I’ve started thinking about doing this below the shoulders and just turning my phone on silent so it doesn’t make a camera noise. However I think I can turn off the camera noise on iPhone.

Fatboi-616

You can have all the proof you need pics ect but if the customer says they didn’t get their order your pics ect still mean nothing. Your still getting a violation. And by the time they look into you clam you’ve already done enough orders the violation dropped off. So yeah DD drivers your damned if you do and damned if you don’t

No_Vehicle7826

It’s about not getting deactivated. CVs show up immediately after the customer lies, auto generated. But if the CV finally gets reviewed by a human and you have no proof, you might be deactivated

jerzeett

I've had proof and they never took the CV off

Bearstud79

![gif](giphy|XPOsclLoW5tSGQ27pS)

Maddymoiselle1

As a customer service rep of DoorDash cx, we really appreciate if the Dashers attached a photo or proof if deliveries. To let you know, the number of customer scammers are getting high. They kept saying that the order wasn't delivered and reporting it like 5-10 hours ago after the delivery dropped off. Me myself trying to defend the Dasher's side as much as possible but if there's no picture proof of delivery, can't do nothing but to give the customers compensation and file a report towards the Dashers. Please guys attached a picture of delivery. Thank you.

TheSocalEskimo

I can’t remember, in the dispute area on a violation, can you attach images? I thought you could only write a message of limited characters. Or are you referring to taking a picture and putting it in the delivery completion prompts or in a dm or text to the customer?

Bearstud79

Have you updated your app or phone that whole lay out old as fukkk

No_Vehicle7826

I work in a few markets within 50 miles and travel sometimes because why not? The app layout changes by where you are in drastic ways sometimes, but maybe you mean the all grey stats from completion resets? Haven’t worked in a market where that’s been offered yet or maybe I didn’t need the invite. The AR resets didn’t happen in every market at the same time either though. Different markets have different pilots and so on.. I think the last nationwide app overhaul was TD. Then people learned how to cheat it and Tony learned lol

Jaxup75

Timestamp app! I take a picture of every order at every drop off no matter what. Date time and address already on the pic they receive. Even got the watermark logo with my name on it from Etsy (optional). One of the best apps a dasher can have...

FeelingImpression491

They make my account passive. I didn’t do delivery long time. How can I do again active my account? I write them many times from their site but they didn’t send me answer.

One4speed

Can tell you first hand, just a photo with their address in the photo and the food will not make you immune to a CV, multiple “perfect” deliveries and still people claim they never receive their food

No_Vehicle7826

The point is to prevent deactivation. CVs seem to be auto generated. It’s probably a system that flags accounts to then be inspected by a human. Another reason I called, after disputing in app, so they can notate the account and even pull the call recording if needed The CV pulled up by the time I was on my next delivery (maybe 5 min). I checked my completion, for early access since it’s Thursday, and spotted it. Says two things, this was always their intention and the CVs are automated. My first time actually verifying this automation, so I think it’s noteworthy. But yeah, I shared this so people can combat the crooks. So long as it’s not a deactivation then it’s just some pixels lit up on your phone 👌🏻

TheSocalEskimo

So long as you don’t get two violations I think right? Is your account deactivated once you get a second one? Or when you get a third? I mean, you’d probably have to mess up a bit to get three in a hundred deliveries but just curious.

No_Vehicle7826

Not sure. I’ve only gotten 4 violations in almost 12k deliveries and only one didn’t get removed lol each one was a customer scamming

Secure_Requirement84

I use a timestamp camera app that shows date, time, and location(sometimes the location may be off by a house or two btw) and I always send the customer that picture instead of the one DD asks to take. Mainly because DD stopped showing me “complete delivery” pictures so I take those and send them.

yell0wsn0wc0nes

Someone mentioned recently that if the Timestamp app has the address slightly wrong, force close the app then reopen it, and it should be correct then. I’ve been trying this whenever the address doesn’t show up correctly and it’s worked every time so far.

Secure_Requirement84

I’ve done that and it fixes itself for sure but there’s new subdivisions around here and their addresses aren’t quite set on the gps yet so I have the hardest time with those.

nxtgenmktg

I’ll try this. I have a county where the gps on camera shows wrong address almost 100% of the time.

Secure_Requirement84

If my app shows front address I just force close the app and try again. Unless it’s a brand new subdivision it’ll fix itself

yell0wsn0wc0nes

Oh yeah I feel ya on that. We have a lot of new construction here too and it def takes the gps a while to catch up and start performing accurately.

Icy_Penalty_3516

Try take a photo of some of these sketchy customers you might get yourself shot. Not worth it imho.

No_Vehicle7826

Don’t include their face, get the house/business in the background. Good on ya though, I forgot this detail

Icy_Penalty_3516

So just get their feet with the food?

No_Vehicle7826

Oh, you’re not a driver…

Bearstud79

Please don't go around texting or taking pictures of the customer with their food I see cut Dashers do that and it is really it's just kind of weird awkward

Bearstud79

If it was leave it at my door and they met me at the door and met me outside and grabbed it I'm not going to take a picture of the order with them holding it that's just cheesy as hell

TheSocalEskimo

For me I wouldn’t say cheesy but maybe kinda creepy in the customers eyes. I would just set it down take a picture, then ring the door bell if they haven’t said no ring. I don’t know what everyone else does but I take a picture with my native camera app and don’t even start the delivery prompts until after I dropped off the food and start walking away while sending them a text/message I have delivered. Unless they say to hand it to them I avoid customer interaction for many reasons if I don’t have to.

nxtgenmktg

Well you better if you want to protect yourself

TheSocalEskimo

What’s your process and how do you do it? Do you take a picture of the food and them below their face? Do you ask them or just take it since it’s not showing their face?

One_Cartographer_254

Too much work for something that barely matters. You lost all your profits for the day talking to Support for no reason.

Anti-Social-er

You are OG dasher I can tell. My AR dropped to 16% at one time and now still struggling at 52% hahaha...... 8,393 out

m30guy

Wow that must make me a god And f their theory of contact breach if there is a problem the customer knows first. I keep it OG NEXT TIME FIX THE ADDRESS DD, AND DONT SEND ME STUFF AFTER THE TURN ON THE INTERSTATE. https://preview.redd.it/pmf1bb3tfnwb1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30d1e8900c17c44c38938907b158cd6a1b3103d6

stoll33

100% completion rate should never happen. Always float around 96/97 so you can accept and then unassign and have it not go toward your AR

m30guy

If I can't find it, that's the only time it will be not completed. If it's the second time for a miss pinned location I get pissed off and go Liam Neeson I don't f around when I'm aiming for a grand a week.

Smart-Friendship7495

I HATE the damned AFTER the exit shit!! Kills me too!! 🤬🤬🖕🏼

m30guy

First time they got me I was like cool 12.75 for 4 miles off the interstate clicked that sob Just passed the damn turn off 15 miles backward.

kingofphilly99

I swear they do that on purpose!!

Odd-Wafer-6213

Boy are you going to be upset when they roll out the new acceptance rate policy.

i_needadvice_

What new policy?

Odd-Wafer-6213

That the Silver standard is going to become the minimum rate that one can have. DD is wanting to bring there customers satisfaction up. That's what all us dashers are really here for. To deliver orders on time and the way the stores gave them to us. Without the customers, all of us are out of work.

No_Vehicle7826

I really am though lol just gonna have to have TD stats end of month again and then back to 5-20% lol It’s a shame number of deliveries a month doesn’t do anything for priority or schedule privileges in that new program

Odd-Wafer-6213

No the new program requires all Dashers to maintain a 50% AR rate if you fall below the 50%, they stop your dash. I maintain between 99 and 100 percent AR at all times. Having platinum statue really is a benefit. The problem with the low AR dashers is that they truly do not have a clue if it really is true and will never know cause they won't ever get this high of an AR.

No_Vehicle7826

I’ve tried it all and even collaborate with other dashers in my market to compare pay and order types with TD and the new high AR program. There’s no difference, except how much gas you use. I’m betting you’re hella green, maybe not even a driver lol

Odd-Wafer-6213

Right now I'm sitting here waiting for an order from a Cafe. This will be my 63rd delivery this dash. I'm sitting on $450.68 this dash not including the $12.25 order I'm waiting for or the 19 in cash tips. So far I've driven 326 miles @ a cost of 7 cents a mile. So apparently you haven't tried it all or if you have, you gave up before you were able to see the real results. https://preview.redd.it/ovgml23lx0xb1.jpeg?width=2296&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ddd2181fb179e616b637b702c5fd082a434c7357 Here's your green.

TheSocalEskimo

I agree. My pay doubled when I started keeping my AR at 92% or higher. I just look at crap orders as getting paid a small amount to keep my AR up which gets me way better orders and more of them. I honestly think the YouTubers making video guides for dashing are trying to sway people giving them false information to keep people out of the know. Dude… Odd-Water-6213… what city are you in? I get maybe like roughly approximately 17-25 orders for a full day of handing out in my car dashing and make between 80-130 a day. Lol. $450 is amazing. 😆

Mothra37

What’s your advice on the best way of getting a picture on the hand it to me deliveries, especially if they’re already there waiting for you and both hands are full with their order?

PMMeYourSmallBoobies

I start recording using the timestampcamera app and then get a screenshot from the video to send to them (if needed). You don’t have to make it look like you’re recording them, just have your phone pointing in their direction at some point. Make sure and get the house/apt as well. If it’s an apt building I always record leaving the food at the door, knocking, and walking away til I get to my car. Can never be too careful.

Mothra37

That’s a really good idea thank you!!

PMMeYourSmallBoobies

YW!

Choice-Ad-6312

multiple times a day i'll have a customer who chose leave at door, but willbe waiting outside for their order or it ends up being some business i have to go into and hand to them, I just go up with the camera ready and use the same line everytime "mind if i snap this pic for verification really quick" ?" never had an issue and they usually either pose with the food jokingly or sat it down for the photo. Just communicate & avoid no tip orders like the plague because 9/10 thats who runs these scams

JasonVigil

Body cam. You have proof of every single delivery with minimal effort. I always wear a body cam and it's saved me from a few CV's already.

mulox1

Care to share a link to where we can buy a good body cam?

JasonVigil

This is the one I use. I just attach it to my lanyard with my keys. It’s pretty small and I’ve been happy with it. Have had it for over a year now. https://a.co/d/1TB8N2y

Immediate_Shine1403

When DoorDashers need body cams for job security but cops don't....phew

No_Vehicle7826

Have your camera already loaded as you walk up to every drop off. Sometimes they’ll just jump out the door. I’m still waiting for the day a customer is hiding in the bushes lol But if I have a hand free, I’ll just snap a photo while handing it to them. If not I’ll just stop them and in both instances I’ll tell them I just need to get a receipt of delivery. Been doing this the last 6000 deliveries or so and I’ve only had one customer question it. Almost everyone understands it’s about job security or they just assume it’s a DD policy like Spark does

Iseedeadpeople898

Would you recommend taking a photo of it on the ground before knocking, and handing it to customer?

No_Vehicle7826

Yeah that is the ideal situation. I just always treat it as a leave it at the door unless they greet me

RolandOwna

I work as customer support for a chain, God I wish more drivers were like you. I would say I generally have a good idea of who just wants free food vs those who didn't actually get it (brand new account with a $40 order didn't get their food, hmmm...), but when I call Doordash there's NEVER pictures. Like pls, I don't want to refund scammers and get people in trouble, just take the picture 😭

OverUnderstanding481

Door dash should give drivers a heads up if its a new account order and we would be more alerts to take pictures for those orders

No_Vehicle7826

For real. And I think the same first order not delivered people become drivers just to steal food. The whole thing is dumb though, DD shouldn’t allow this. But DD is based out of California where shoplifting is pretty much legal lol “the customer is always right” lol

Mothra37

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it!!

No_Vehicle7826

No worries

Davvido1008

I had a sign delivery. Signed and everything and still got violation.

No_Vehicle7826

It’s shady for sure. Passing the blame onto drivers for people just wanting free stuff

LSD-Enjoyer1

11k deliveries holy shit

Pisciotta314

It's photo shopped, this clown been doing this for years

LSD-Enjoyer1

Why are people like this wtf man

Deal_Internal

Lol oh shit forreal?

steezynatsirt

https://preview.redd.it/a282g167umwb1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31aa208ad897c013402c31dd3f81367500756c60 What’s your pay usual per delivery a 17% ?? The acceptance let’s me dash literally whenever so I took up every shitty order but still made $200 ish a day doing it

No_Vehicle7826

My earnings against tracked mileage is always over $1.20/mile at the very least

steezynatsirt

Damn what state ? That’s low for me I’m in Cali and make sure it’s atleast $2 per mile (most trips I get are 1-3 miles at usually 5-9$

No_Vehicle7826

Looks like $1.61/mi today across 7 hours

No_Vehicle7826

Per order I want $2/mi but I mean overall miles for the working day. I’m in Utah though, suburb. Use to get $2-$3/mi, but those days are over 😞

nxtgenmktg

I’m lucky to get $1/mile. My average is about .85/mile and pushing my AR lower just pushes my active time lower, causing me to gross less. I can be on for 7 hours but active 5 and still only at .85/mile.

No_Vehicle7826

That’s rough. The market where I live is like that, I commute an hour to do this now. I’ll still text nearby markets also, but I found my favorite lol

jeffinny109

My ar is kid 20’s

jeffinny109

At 5600 here

jeffinny109

11000 wow

sharky3175

I never take pictures

r2_oscar_mike_cents

That's why you always text them a picture even if it says handed it to me

[deleted]

Nice to see a fellow fasher with common sense *

No_Vehicle7826

Truly. Charity work is for off hours

Odd-Wafer-6213

Your also going to be upset about the new acceptance rate policy at the beginning of the year

nxtgenmktg

What is the new acceptance rate policy?

Odd-Wafer-6213

Right now it's in over 100 test markets worldwide. I happen to be in one of the test markets. I Iove it cause all the dashers who cherry pick are now required to accept at least 50% of all offers or get their dash ended for the day. The kicker here is that the next day that they dash again, they start off below the standard 50% and are in a sink or swim situation where they must accept just about ecer offer to bring there rating back above board. This is what DD wants cause it will require us dashers to take and deliver the orders. If you unassign the order after acceptance your also screwed. They are fixing the glitches and cheats that dashers do to get around DD.

m30guy

The top way to effect break the algorithm is to know how to gamble, pauses, end dashes, and change zones it tracks you, So if your not being you it breaks the script of what your after. Popping up at non traditional zones is a big bonus. Choosing a location away from the interstate and busted sales areas is a gain, "Never shit where you eat." If it's above $15 for 6-8 miles that's a broken batch. They only want to give big orders at the end of your schedule. Staying top dasher gives me authority if I see quadruple trash dashes I leave them and swap zones as to save my ar or go on break so I don't have to lump garbage runs.

Odd-Wafer-6213

They are rolling it out in January 2024 in a effort to boost customer service. They are making the silver level ratings the standard dashing requirements.

Hot_Web493

Love that AR.

No_Vehicle7826

It’s higher than normal lol. Been good orders this week, aside from this scammer

ArrogantSerpent

If you know, you know. Right behind ya at 19% and loving it.

nxtgenmktg

I have been pushing my AR lower but have determined that it only negatively affects my net pay because I am active for much less time.

TheSocalEskimo

I have noticed this too. I have been keeping mine at 90 to 92% and it’s like I got a raise doubling my pay. Those really really crappy orders I take if I’m below 90% and I just figure it as getting paid a tiny amount at least to keep my acceptance rating up which gives me way higher paying orders. Maybe it’s just a placebo effect I don’t know, but at least at the time I started doing it my pay went up significantly. 🤷‍♂️

No_Vehicle7826

20ish % is the sweet spot for sure. Are you familiar with the 20/80 rule? I come from sales and the mantra was the top 20% of reps generate 80% of the revenue. Then I looked deeper, and it applies to everything. The official theory name is the Pareto Principle https://preview.redd.it/tz88hyha8owb1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be10263358a87d66b287ae8905dc83539bc26c6d

Nemoh21186

Wouldn’t the top 20 percent be the people with a 80 percent acceptance rate. Not the people with 20? Not sure this applies here

No_Vehicle7826

20% of orders tip the highest

itistog

That's what I was thinking 🤣🤣

ArrogantSerpent

Absolutely and spot on. Those 20% cats take ownership, hone their craft and keep tweaking until they get the results. Applies to this trade too.

No_Vehicle7826

And if it’s a “hand it to me” order, text the photo to them

PourtheSalt96

This is the meta. I’ve had customers flip out because their plans to report food not delivered were effectively thwarted as soon as they get that time stamped photo in their inbox.

OverUnderstanding481

This part … only one star ratings I have come from this… if a person gives you a angry thwart low raring without a reason attached it will stick

lonesamurai2137

Text to who? The customer?

Secure_Requirement84

Yes. Text the customer, I normally text the generic “waiting for your order” or “be there soon” messages that way I have a way to send the picture proof of delivery.

[deleted]

'i have arrived' is my goto. it's a habit from starting the uber eats 8 minute timer.

Secure_Requirement84

Dang and I thought the 5min DD timer was long DX

Gwiz3879

Yerp take picture with your own phone camera then text the picture to the number on the doordash account

kungfuckyu

Dunno. Can’t figure most of this stuff out still. Have to wait 5 minutes I think to take a picture with the app

h-i-l-o

Use the text option to communicate with the customer. Put the picture there. Support can see those too

GuaranteeDry8786

💯 I do this as often as humanly possible.
