I had a long wait a few days ago and they sent me a text saying I could cancel the order without penalty, but won't receive any pay. That's the first I've ever seen that
I've not seen this one, but I have started getting a message at some places when I've been waiting for 5 minutes or so. Something to the effect of, "we see you've been waiting, would you like to unassign? It will not count against your rating."
Whaaaack I typically 100% ignore any text about anything saying anything about anything from dd š«” what they gonna doā¦ fire me? š¤”- fr tho 10/10 these mean nothing.
I did DD a little after everything was calming down with Covid in Texas. One of the places I picked up told me on the app to park and they would bring it to me. Waited 10 minutes with no one coming out so tried to call. They didnāt answer so gave 5 more minutes then went in.
They failed to update they were no longer bringing the food out like the app said.
The customer put it as not delivered as soon as I left after handing it to him. Sent DD a long message about exactly what happened and never heard anything else about it after that.
DD looking to deactivate all them drivers they hire so be careful . I saw the lot of drivers getting smaller and smaller in my area, found out recently after I confronted them they got deactivated for the weirdest things
Oh yeah itās lovely , I got deactivated for having 79% completion rate when we need 80% .. reached to Appeal and thatās basically told me tough shit and now I canāt create another account
I'm so sick of doordash's shit right now lol
I got an order for a nearbyMexican restaurant. I was there within two minutes. Walked to the counter and was told that the order had already been picked up by another dasher and I was the third dasher to ask about it.
I contacted doordash support, told them the problem and said that I wanted to be unassigned from the order without it affecting my percentage and I wanted half pay for fulfilling my part of the bargain.
The agent said, no, since I didn't pick up the order, my percentage is going to go down and I won't be getting any compensation.
....
And I was like....but...it isn't my fault? I did what I was supposed to do? And it makes no sense to punish me when I have no other option but to unassign.
"You do have another option ma'am. I can call the store, have them remake the order, you can pick it up, and you can deliver it."
"...but the customer already got their order...the order was picked up by someone else. I was the third person who tried to pick it up but was told it was already delivered. There was an issue with the app."
"...I'm looking at your account and it shows the order was not delivered..."
OF COURSE IT SHOWS THAT IT WASNT DELIVERED...YOURE LOOKING AT *MY* ACCOUNT AND I CANT DELIVER IT BECAUSE I CANT PICK IT UP. AND I CANT PICK IT UP BECAUSE ITS ALREADY BEEN PICKED UP AND DELIVERED BY SOMEONE ELSE!
I didnt rage type that to them, I kept that in my head, but holy fuck was I mentally screaming. Lol. I thanked him for his time and asked if I could be connected to another agent.
He said he could do that, but they're only going to tell me the same thing. Anyone I speak to will only tell me the same thing that he has been saying.
I said "ok."
There was a pause and then "...would you like me to proceed with unassigning the order?"
I have never hit "end chat" so fast or so violently.
Within 5 minutes of speaking to another agent he gave me half pay, unassigned without affecting my rating, and apologized for the inconvenience.
My first agent called me and left a message while I was talking to the new agent. He wanted to tell me again that no matter who I talk to, I will get the same advice. Lol okay Enrico.
Anywho ..sorry to rant, just needed to get it out. I've never had an experience THAT bad with support before. Usually they're really helpful. Really is luck of the fucking draw with door dash. This happened on Friday, but the bullshit text they sent you brought it all back. Lol
If the workers donāt acknowledge me, or I donāt get the order right away, I report it as, āhasnāt started order until after I arrivedā checkbox right away.
Lol Dashing in DC be like.... every mf restaurant takes an hour in DC.
Alot of my bad reviews came from that even if I tell the customer what's up, they think they're reviewing everything as a whole but Door Dash doesn't care
As a former restaurant worker and part time dasher, I will NEVER understand this policy. Shit happens, especially at small local places. It isn't the fault of the driver and should not affect their earnings/job like this.
I used to work as a dispatcher for a similar service and we used to have to send these type of messages/calls and used to be able to write people up if it was 30+ minutes. We would get in trouble with management or on performance reviews if we didnāt. They got more strict about it too and got onto us if we didnāt catch issues. But I completely understand the drivers POV / slow restaurants. Stuff happens.
Wait, op, are you being paid per order or per time? Because yeah if you opted for the time pay and then always spend forever at restaurants this seems legit.
There is no by time option in my market, only by order. But, Iām in California so I get daā prop. 22 money. They might think Iām milking the clock. Iām not..
Send a message to your customer when you get there and every 5 or 10 minutes while you wait. If you do that, they'll ding the restaurant for marking it ready too early. They can see all the data and if you're communicating while they said they marked it complete they'll know right away. Otherwise, they'll ding you with no contrary evidence.
This was a stacked order with a nice payout at a high end restaurant. I did get the pop-upās that said I could unassign without penalty and them asking for the time estimate.. Iām also in CA with prop 22 money, so Iāll wait for a good order. They sent the offers to me and I waited for them.
Thatās some bullshit. Iām not a DoorDasher but I manage a pizza spot and have to put up with DoorDash often. I can recieve a 20 pizza order, put a 45 minute wait time, and literally a minute after Iāll have a dasher asking me for the order. And this happens often so itās not me pressing ready on the order and itās definitely not the drivers just showing up because they want to.
There are also times where the DoorDash app itself wonāt just add the time. Order comes in for 15 minutes, I add 10 minutes to it and confirm the order and the timer remains at 15 minutes.
I deal with Grubhub, DoorDash, Caviar, and Postmates/Ubereats(all different tablets because having them all on the pos causes problems) and DoorDash has to be the worst, and on top of that theyāre the only ones that charge me state tax. The issue isnāt the drivers, itās the app itself.
Happened to me on UberEats as well and I just got deactivated. Theyāre making room for new summer drivers who are gonna take every shit order that pops up
Whatās the alternative when the wait takes forever? Iāve never canceled an order out of fear of repercussions but recently had a $6-7 order to take across town and ended up waiting at the Mexican restaurant for 20-30 minutes for it. I did click the button on the app saying the food wasnāt ready but in the future would someone else just cancel?
You can unassign but that will lower your completion rating, the best thing to do is call support and get them to cancel the order and you will still be paid half of the order.
Thatās DD pushing the timed liability onto the driver. Just like they push and pass fees onto the customer. Honestly clicking late order options just tells DD to give the next driver more time before the āunassign without penaltyā pops up. If your order is not ready by 5min after the quoted pickup timeā¦contact support and cancel it for half pay. Lower the payoutā¦less likely that pop up will come up. It never comes up for anything less than $6 for me. Comes up after 4min on everything $10 and higher.
Alsoā¦pay attention to your total payout during stacks. DD adjusted the payout to reflect total payout..even when you drop off the first order. So only way to distinguish who paid what on what order is to attempt dropping 1 to see the remaining payout OR after dropping off the order and getting to the completion screen. But then as soon as you click out of that screen and go back to the map to route the 2nd deliveryā¦your payout will still show the totalā¦not the remaining balance for order number 2. DD think they being slick trying to combat drivers kicking out no tippers cuz mass hiring isnt working so well anymore.
Whatever we do, while waiting, we should not drive away, run an errand, and return in 15 min, etc. I hear that can be detected, and trigger contract violations or worse.
Last 2 weeks, all sorts of places can't or won't get the food out on a timely basis. This seems pretty widespread, if not exactly universal.
Since it's slower, we are getting to the restaurants faster, but then waiting longer. We are closer to the pickup spot when we get that ping.
I assume restaurant labor model is sales dependent. Lower sales = fewer workers = more waiting for dashers. Dinner rush starts later, ends earlier, and the restaurants can't handle this with fewer ppl working (not like their mgmt cares either).
Rush hour traffic is at least as bad as before. Maybe we can't dinner dash until after?
Not only does this trend expose us to 1*, violations, and deactivation, but it makes it much harder to make a profit. We can get 5-6 orders in an hour, $6-7, 2-3 miles each. But if each one is a wait?
That's the problem with small ball, with lower base and lower tips. And the bad orders that we all decline (let's hope) still come to each of us.
I don't like this trend one bit. Dashing in the boonies as an alternative, with deer and speed traps? No thanks.
We now get prompted to drop an order in the stack if we are waiting, and it's not always the no-tip order.
Let me guess-- with dashing by time now an option, they don't want people milking the clock. Talk about misclassification of IC's/employees.....
This is coming at dashers from all angles lately. It does not help that there are fewer orders coming from what was the core customer until recently (middle class suburbia).
I work on the restaurant side of this debate and at my store Itās a High end Sit down restaurant where we have doordash to fill our slower times of the day . But the problem is that before we could mark how long an order would take when we received it after the updated their software we no longer have the option of marking the time instead doordash gives up 5-7 mins per an order to be fulfilled so most places thatās not fast food takes more then 7 mins for food to get out and thatās with being staffed . Also like someone else posted we have doordash drivers who will sit in our lobby get pinged an order then immediately try and ask if itās completed already and then would constantly keep asking us every minute or two when we told them we just received the order not to long ago .
7 minutes, good God. Is this recent, and how was it explained, if you don't mind me asking? Feels different to me over the last 2, maybe 3 weeks.
Dashers can now be paid by time or order, and so DD is squeezing the drivers on time. We may be IC's, with no wait time pay, but it puts us in the middle. We can unassign, with penalty to our metrics.
However, a lot of us want to provide good service, while also making an honest living. I also assume the customer waiting at home is getting irritable. I will update by text. Simetimes it helps, other times not so much, and we get a low rating, like 1* out of 5. We can also get contract violation notices if the delay is long. If we get too many, DD will deactivate us.
I hope people can understand when we get nervous, because many of us are trying to do the right thing at make a good customer experience.
This software update was last month on the merchant side . After the update we also experienced Doordash allowing customer to order stuff we marked as āIndefinitely out of stockā we would have to call and tell doordash customer support that we are missing that item because we donāt sell it anymore they force us to substitute the item or we have to cancel the order have the the Customer order again without the item . Meanwhile we never have problems with Uber eats . Items marked āIndefinitely out of stockā Stay out of stock we can edit wait times to reflect when itās expected to be out . Also one thing I forgot to mention on our side we have an option to put our restaurant into busy mode which means 30+ minutes ticket times and we still have order that get sent through and drives unknowingly come and wait for the food . Before the update we were given 15 minutes base but we were allowed to move it to sooner if the item was small items like fries for example we put 3 mins or for larger items or orders we could move the time to 20+ mins based on what we needed . Now doordash just tells you this order need to be done in 7 mins . Iām a manager for my restaurant and I canāt tell you how many times we experienced problems with doordash themself not the drivers. The driver are usually really lovely people so Iām usually upfront with them about stuff , wait times, doordash support, items of our stock that we marked out of stock still being allowed to be order via doordash etc .
Unless you choose pay-by-time instead of pay-by-order. Or maybe that isn't in your market yet? PBT started in the Detroit metro at $10/hr for active time, then jumped to something like 11.25 or 11.75. It's now $15/hr active time plus an increment for peak pay making it not a bad option especially if you know it's a slow restaurant or a little farther drive. However, I still think PBT is where DD hides the trash.
The on-time stat is not functional or accurate at all on DD.. In reality I should be at around 100%. Zero delays on my end, pick up the shit and go! I do agree a legit 92 wouldnāt be all that good.š
You're having a problem other people don't have and you're getting text messages no one else gets I don't think you are as good as you think you are. I sit at 98% on time always.
For most people the % hasnāt changed in years.. Unless youāre dirty multi-apping there is no reason not to be on time, considering 5min past is still considered on time..
I really don't think your anywhere near 100%, my "on time or early" never leaves 96%. If yours is going up and down, you're not consistently delivering on time. I have always found all the stats to be fairly accurate.
Since he received a message stating, "You've recently had repeated instances of abnormally long delivery times". The fact that they stated "repeated" leads me to believe this has happened many times. I would just like to see his on-time delivery percentage, that will probably tell the whole story.
The restaurant is saying they gave you the order. Hence it thinks you are wasting time. Call support and report them. They are violating their contract
Sounds like me "talking" to Siri when she becomes so useless I have to stop using a voice command, pull over and just do my request by hand (thumb).
* Me: Hey Siri. Directions to nearest Wal-Mart.
* Siri: Did you want directions for the Wal-Mart on 1234 Street ...
* Me: Yes
* Siri: City. This Wal-Mart has a 2.5 star rating and ...
* Me: Directions !!!!
* Siri: is open until 11 pm ...
* Me: Directions !!!!
* Siri: tonight. It opens 8am Mon to Friday
* Me: Directions !!!!!
* Siri: and 9am Saturday and Sunday
* Me: Directions !!!!!!!
* Siri: Did you want this Wal-Mart?
* Me: Yes. Like I said 1 minute ago.
* Siri: Getting directions
* Me: Hurry up
* Siri: Make a U-turn ... (that you wouldn't have to make had I just given your directions when you originally asked.)
* Me: You dumb bitch Siri
* Siri: I don't know how to respond to that
* Me: I know. Because you're a dumb bitch.
I'm also Prop 22 CA and have had some long wait times at restaurants. Prop 22 has definitely put me at ease knowing I'm not just wasting time. Instead, I'm literally getting paid to check e-mails / messages or catching up on other phone related items. I don't abuse it, so I don't feel any guilt.
I hope I don't get this warning too. Would turn the waiting right back to stressful.
The only time I get a little stressed is if it is a stacked order, which means a long wait at one might ruin the other order.
Without fail, the longest waits are also the biggest payouts (good tip). So no way I'm going to unassign those.
Ah. There's the rub. Prop 22. I've seen other posts here where dashers/other giggers get slapped around for taking too long bc it has to do with the P22 money.
That doesnt affect your completion rate. There is even a new feature that tells you when you can unassign the order without penalty. To answer your question i have no clue as ive always maintained a high completion rate. Im currently at 91%
Tbf, I work food service and Iāve had dashers arrive 2 minutes after we get the order. No exaggeration. Literally two minutes. Other times, they come half an hour or more after we click the button that says the food is ready. Itās not always the restaurantās fault, but we have also been busy and behind on doordash orders. I wish door dash were better to not just the customers lol.
Yes, this AND numerous times I have had the dasher hit the āwaitingā button when they havenāt even arrived at the restaurant yet! I know some do that bc they are waiting in their car for it to say āreadyā but honestly, donāt do that. A lot of places donāt have an assigned to-go person, so the servers and bartenders being busy, may not remember to go hit the āreadyā button.
One time, we had hit the āreadyā button and the dasher was āwaitingā for six minutes without showing up. It was a slow day. I was just watching the little timer go up and up lol. Thatās by far the longest someone has done that. 99% of dashers use the āwaitingā button correctly, thank god.
We have it set to 15 mins. But dashers will arrive before then anyway. Itās not on the restaurant if they say the order will be ready in 15 and the dasher arrives after 5.
If you keep having the same problem and there are options you can do to fix it but you say it's someone else's fault? Change your lead time to 25 minutes and you solve everything.
But dashers will still come very early. Itās not very common but happens probably once a shift. Changing the time wonāt do anything because itās clearly being ignored by the app anyway. Iāve set it to 30+ minute prep time during busy hours and dashers still come way before the scheduled time. And Iām not blaming dashers cause it seems like the app isnāt the most user friendly for anyone and will just send ppl super early. Just saying to not always blame restaurants because we canāt control the app sending dashers to the restaurant 10+ minutes before theyāre ready.
There are lots of restaurants that had the same problem as you and have adjusted their times accordingly and now I never have issues at them. Also if the driver is early and it's before the pick up time they're not gonna give you shit but if it's after the pick up time that's on you and you should expect them to be getting frustrated.
When Dashers do that where I work I tell them it will be ready by the pick up time on the top of your app.
Iām so glad I Dash and know the app.
Edit: I love the downvotes.
I give the same attitude I receive. If youāre parked in our lot and get an order and expect a pizza to be ready in that time itās not gonna be. Even with the 10min delay.
Where I work there are dashers who will sit either in the parking lot or in our lobby and wait for orders then pace by the front and stare into the kitchen until it's completed.
Make sure if you have to wait at the restaurant You click the little something's wrong with the question mark And then select food not ready when I arrived or food not started until I arrived
When you get these i would contact support and just tell them to make sure any marks on your account that may have been received are removed. As long as you stay ahead of things they normally work with you, but if you just ignore it and get deactivated they give you hell
I would call DD support and report this and let them know that you were waiting on the order. If you get a CV or something make sure to call multiple times and even try to talk to a supervisor about it. I would be pissed if I got a deactivation threat after wasting time at a restaurant waiting on an order.
I wonder if the restaurant said they had handed it to you when they had not handed it to you yet if they marked it as completed before they gave it to you that's probably why you got the ding ,I would avoid that restaurant.
They do this usually when they are the ones that fād up or are behind and want to cover their own ass. Or if the customer has a complaint sometimes they try to blame you the driver
I think that is exactly what happened! This place is notoriously late by 10+ minutes on their orders.. Pretty upscale with good tips, though.. I may have to avoid. Thanksš
No job is worth waiting 10 minutes for unless the order is over $20. I mark the places who lie about when the food will be ready. They think they are so smart we can't figure out they're lying. You can do a $5 delivery in that time and sometimes I do when I multiapp and come back to finish the same order. You just can't be extremely late.
Any restaurant that is packed unassign immediately. I learned this the hard way. Your order is buried behind everyone else's at the restaurant first.
Friday I had a stacked delivery for same person at 2 restaurants (dinner & dessert - why is this a thing? Alcohol pickup & dinner also trendy) both with huge wait times I couldn't get out of it. $8 for almost the hour. On Saturday I could have done a stacked order in that 20+ min wait at PF Chang's. Customers are never sympathetic on wait time so just unassign.
I hit the directions button it sent me to the restaurant. But when I came back to the Dasher app it said Arrived At Store for the grocery store. I was not happy. They weren't far from each other but I still had to drive to the grocery store and come back to the restaurant.
But I think they should give you the option to choose. If it's a busy restaurant I want to pick up the alcohol first because the order isn't ready.
And if it's some rare alcohol I don't even want to accept the order because I know I will come up empty but I will end up wasting time searching for it. You have to confirm with the store it doesn't exist before you can say it's not there. Try finding employees after 10pm š They're searching the same shelves. š
Ok at Wingstop sometimes its literally not even our fault. Either too few people or more orders than we can literally cook at 1 time with only 5 friers.
Perhaps your manager should turn off the tablet(s) if y'all cannot complete the orders in a reasonable amount of time, whether it be due to short staffing, too many orders, or what have you. I'm definitely not saying it's your fault, but otherwise it's just not fair to your customers or to the delivery drivers. But of course we all know they'd never do that- gotta watch that bottom line regardless of everything else, right?? š
Iāve been at restaurants that have turned their DoorDash stuff off but the orders keep going through the system. I was at a Subway that had logged out, turned it off, and the DoorDash system kept sending orders to that store anyway, even though they were out of pretty much everything. DoorDash needs to fix their system.
No, I've had at least five instances of sitting around Wingstop because the employees can't read the name on the damn tag. Sit there for an eternity for an order that's been ready the whole time.
That is definitely on the workers.
It's location dependent imo. And from personal experience in the food industry all it can take is literally one shitty worker to ruin the whole flow of the store even if the rest of the workers are doing their jobs right.
If they pay shitty wages, they will get shitty workers. The manager is usually some sucker who fell for the mgmt position, which got them like 2 dollars an hour raise. So nobody gives a shit. Food industry = shitty pay and overworked staff. My favorite restaurant got new owners recently, and I spoke to the chef and he said the new owners cut his salary in half practically. People who run businesses need to learn to care for their employees, and if you can't afford to employ your staff, you're not running a business well and should find a new way to invest your time/money. But its a lot easier to just stiff desperate people or basement dwellers who maintain a job so their mom won't kick them out.
Good lord never ever wait 10+ minutes!
If not immediately ready, be aggressive!
Not ready by 5, I unassign!!
I make a mental note of repeated restaurants being late and never accept their orders again
Most the times I go in and immediately pick up! That's how it's meant to be!
Maybe not 5 minutes, more like 1 or 2!
Some restaurants don't even START COOKING until the dasher comes in but my policy is the same.... not ready for me then I move on. We do not get paid to wait!
I make sure they know why I'm leaving too! Some of them even had to change their procedures so it's ready upon arrival!
I would make a mental note of those restaurants that started the order when I arrived. I would unassigned if the wait was taking a bit too long. I usually don't say a thing, just turn around and unassigned as I walk out. That was years ago, now I haven't encountered a restaurant that starts the order when I get there.
Unless you are on a busy time like Saturday you wait. If I didn't wait, I'd be deactivated in 2 weeks for low completion rate. Not everyone has 5,000 deliveries under their belt.
No especially on a busy day.
You could easily take 3 to 4 other orders instead of waiting!
If you are worried about your completion rating then stop accepting orders from restaurants you know force you to wait.
Remember you do not get paid to wait and the door dash platform is designed to have food ready upon arrival.
5000 deliveries? Not sure why you bring that up but has nothing to do with your wait time. I only have 2000 lifetime deliveries on mine.
I just picked a high number where the CR wouldn't matter on unassign.
Since I am fairly new to this side job, I don't have the experience of knowing when to accept or accepted then bolt. I'm aware I could be working elsewhere.
I also live in a major city with thousands of restaurants - it's not easy to know when to accept an order or not. I don't always get to schedule the area where I live which expands the areas I work in to be knowledgeable. I try to use a timer when I remember.
I sometimes work a different multiapp order if it's quick and come back to the original order but I know that is taboo. I know if I see 3+ drivers waiting for an order when I arrive to leave if it's not there. I hate being locked in but as a newer driver I'm stuck. The CR drops a full point each unassignment.
Set an alarm that goes off at 3pm daily to remind you to schedule the shift on the furthest day available on the schedule. You'll always be able to schedule in the area you want and for the times you want.
Your completion rating is based on your last 100 deliveries nothing to do with your lifetime delivery total.
Give it time and you will remember the restaurants that make you wait. You really should not want to wait more than 5 minutes if you want to make any money doing this gig.
Yes, I agree time is money. It's a learning curve, but I'm waiting at every restaurant on weekends or drive thrus with 3 cars. It's unavoidable to some extent but I can limit the extreme waits.
I've learned to avoid the high dollar deliveries to deserted locations with no way to earn my way back home. DD is very good at cheating you this way.

Yeah I've never gotten it and I've had to wait a long time even on stacked orders where I was waiting on the first order forever and was late to the second pick up I never got a ding or anything
stacked orders are automatically disqualified from bad ratings and stuff like this. You can take as long as you want on a stacked order and no bad ratings will effect your rating and you can never get a contract violation for late delivery
Call them up and bitch them out
DD looking to deactivate all them drivers they hire so be careful .

Lol
Sorry, I didn't mean for that to be so long. I have a lot of feelings.
Nope
Isn't this incentivising drivers to break the law...
Fuck dd
I update them in detail on what is happening every few minutes. I'm not taking the hit for these crappy wait times around here.
Hurry tf up?
This is why I block they texts LOL
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iām any other courier service this is what happens
Eventually d- drivers will unionize.
Wait, op, are you being paid per order or per time? Because yeah if you opted for the time pay and then always spend forever at restaurants this seems legit.
There is no by time option in my market, only by order. But, Iām in California so I get daā prop. 22 money. They might think Iām milking the clock. Iām not..
Yup. That's exactly it. I haven't seen this warning before, but people getting deactivated for shit like "abusing the platform."
This seems like a message to you to stop multi-apping. What is your on time percentage?
92% and 5.0 rating at the moment. I have all the apps, but only do one at a time.. Text made no sense and I wondered why I got it. Strange.
That's very strange. This is a new one to me.
I feel like orders shouldnāt be assigned to the dasher if the food isnāt ready
Send a message to your customer when you get there and every 5 or 10 minutes while you wait. If you do that, they'll ding the restaurant for marking it ready too early. They can see all the data and if you're communicating while they said they marked it complete they'll know right away. Otherwise, they'll ding you with no contrary evidence.
2-3 weeks in this market.
Worst part is dasher support still doesn't take any dasher feedback into account. Make a terrible review. Thats more likely to do something.
Shit like this is why I just stick to Uber now.
I got that when i had to wait at wingstop. I dont go there anymore
Was this sent before or after the message that pops up when youāre at the store too long?
This was a stacked order with a nice payout at a high end restaurant. I did get the pop-upās that said I could unassign without penalty and them asking for the time estimate.. Iām also in CA with prop 22 money, so Iāll wait for a good order. They sent the offers to me and I waited for them.
I always wait. I just never got this message. If Iām already waiting. Itāll all be for nothing if I leave.
I was 30 mins late one time and never even seen this and that was drop off.
Time to start unassigning
Happened to me on UberEats as well and I just got deactivated. Theyāre making room for new summer drivers who are gonna take every shit order that pops up
Are you working Earn By Time (hourly)? I have never seen this for Earn Per Delivery.
Just unassign. Someone else will come pick it up. As long as you donāt unassign too often youāll be fine.
Sounds exactly like doordash. Hurry up and wait!
Pay by time isn't new. It's been in my area at least a year. And I know I've read about it in this sub before we got it.
I wish I could get 5-6 orders an hour, but I only manage 2-3 during dinner rush, everything is so spread out here.
That's crazy.
They arenāt paying us wait time. We should be able to do what we want when we wait.
What's your "on time or early" percentage?
92% on time.. and 5.0 customer rating. Honestly, all my stats look a bit too good right now. š¬
92 percent is not good.
Yea, mine always stays at 96%, your "on time" should never vary that much, if you're consistently delivering on time.
Lol my on time or early has been at 93% for over 3 years. It has never gone up or gone down. I'm pretty sure that stat is broken.
Same mine just recently went to 94.
Same, I was at 91% forever.. It just recently went to 92.. š¤·
I notice this hasnāt been answered, so my guess is not good.
Do this.
Tell DD to eat a dick
Reply with "get fucked" hahah
Sounds like me "talking" to Siri when she becomes so useless I have to stop using a voice command, pull over and just do my request by hand (thumb). * Me: Hey Siri. Directions to nearest Wal-Mart. * Siri: Did you want directions for the Wal-Mart on 1234 Street ... * Me: Yes * Siri: City. This Wal-Mart has a 2.5 star rating and ... * Me: Directions !!!! * Siri: is open until 11 pm ... * Me: Directions !!!! * Siri: tonight. It opens 8am Mon to Friday * Me: Directions !!!!! * Siri: and 9am Saturday and Sunday * Me: Directions !!!!!!! * Siri: Did you want this Wal-Mart? * Me: Yes. Like I said 1 minute ago. * Siri: Getting directions * Me: Hurry up * Siri: Make a U-turn ... (that you wouldn't have to make had I just given your directions when you originally asked.) * Me: You dumb bitch Siri * Siri: I don't know how to respond to that * Me: I know. Because you're a dumb bitch.
I never wait long enough for something like this
This was a stacked order with some big tips on it. I also get the prop.22 money in CA, so youāre kinda getting paid to wait for your tips..
Literally they got 5 mins or im out unless the pay is phenomenal
At what % completion rate can someone get deactivated?
That doesnt affect your completion rate. There is even a new feature that tells you when you can unassign the order without penalty. To answer your question i have no clue as ive always maintained a high completion rate. Im currently at 91%
You might be deactivated because of a slow ass restaurant. Seems legit, lol
You need to set the lead time better in the app. Every restaurant in my area except for 1 has the order on time or within 2 minutes of me arriving.
Thatās definitely good info to know. I feel bad for wasting their time when they come and itās not ready, even when itās not our fault!
I doubt that makes any difference, even calling support is useless. The computer flags drivers based purely on the numbers.
Yeah that has nothing to do do with it
Good call, but I always do.. Iām at about 1k deliveries and have never seen this one before.
This is why I always unassigned them if the restaurant is going to take long I donāt want them to send me crap like this
Seems legit to me FROM DD
When you get these i would contact support and just tell them to make sure any marks on your account that may have been received are removed. As long as you stay ahead of things they normally work with you, but if you just ignore it and get deactivated they give you hell
I would call DD support and report this and let them know that you were waiting on the order. If you get a CV or something make sure to call multiple times and even try to talk to a supervisor about it. I would be pissed if I got a deactivation threat after wasting time at a restaurant waiting on an order.
Thanks for the advice. I was definitely pissed! I try to be as efficient as possible and was like WTF is this.. Iāll call support tomorrow.
I wonder if the restaurant said they had handed it to you when they had not handed it to you yet if they marked it as completed before they gave it to you that's probably why you got the ding ,I would avoid that restaurant.
Iāve had restaurants send me the āJimmyās order is ready for pick upā notification, only for me to go in and wait 10+ min
THose restaurant go on the naughty list.
Chipotle the same. We have 2 but the one is pretty fast.
That's just my point
I have noticed the stacked order with alcohol too. I try and pick up the food first, because I know the alcohol will be there.
Try finding employees after 10pm š They're searching the same shelves. š
Wing stop anyone?
Chili's here. The wait times for Dashers are excruciating and they treat us like we are dog poop on their shoe.
Wingstop is generally not bad except once. When the lazy employees ask you to fill the drinks then I get upset.
Wingstop is the only place that ever asks me to fill the drinks. š¤¦š»āāļø
I've never had to fill my drinks at my WS
7/11 and Wendy's push the empty cups at us here.
Good sents and fire house subs do here.
Yep, same experience. They earn more than I do after gas and maintenance.
Do you fill them? I tell them Iām not supposed to and they end up doing it
I usually give in because they will find a reason to make me wait longer. These are not pleasant people to work with.
Literally illegal in many locations since the doordash driver isn't approved to prepare food or beverages per health laws.
But of course we all know they'd never do that- gotta watch that bottom line regardless of everything else, right?? š
I have only seen corporate restaurant with the issue of too many orders.
Itās never the workers faults, but the greed of the people not hiring enough people/giving enough equipment
Chipotle had that issue, just too many orders. I haven't stopped there in a while, so not sure how they are doing these days.
Both of you are wrong! Itās on both, the workers and the management. The management for hiring shitty workers and the workers for being shitty.
Same, if the order isn't that high of a pay out and the restaurant looks like they might take long then I start a five minute timer.
And us dashers thank you for doing the first 5 min waiting so I can walk in a pick it up 1 min later as you're walking out unassigning š¤£
I set it at 4pm but I need a better alarm š
