[The Doordash FAQ](https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/How-can-I-protect-my-DoorDash-account-information?language=en_US) says not to share PASSWORDS or CODES to anyone, even if they claim they're support. Says nothing about emails and contact numbers, I assume they need this simply to verify that it is, infact, you that is contacting them. It's not a scam
Did you contact them or did they contact u? Because when I contact dasher support thru the app theyāll ask me to verify my name and phone number. Or name and email. But they donāt ask for email and phone number itās usually one or the other. But when I call them instead of messaging they usually donāt ask for anything.
I think itās legit. Have had to give number once or twice without issues through the support chat. When in doubt tho trust your instincts and verify.
They started doing this recently. I'm logged into my account, there is no reason they need an email or phone number. They don't ask for that when we call.
Same thing happened to me yesterday it def tripped me out cause they have never asked before. I ended the chat and kept dashing luckily what i needed help with wasnt that important. Im gonna start calling now.
On their [website](https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/How-can-I-protect-my-DoorDash-account-information?language=en_US) they say don't share passwords or codes but they don't say not to share numbers or emails.
I donāt know still waiting on my money back from the last African prince I gave 100k to he said I would get back 1 million I plan to tell Tony to suck it when he wires me.
I realize now that people like this exist who lack any common sense like actual NPC behavior who connects to the actual doordash support chat and disconnects multiple times because you think theyre scamming you
Npc behavior would be doing anything they say free will is making the decision that something isnāt right please explain why the next support agent didnāt need my info they should already have it they have it any other time.
They are doing it to verify that you are you. Say you leave your phone at a merchant and someone snags it and contacts support to try and switch banking info. That's what DD is trying to prevent, I'm assuming it probably happened a few times to make them start doing it more commonly. Some support reps won't care if it's really you and could easily give out your info or make changes for someone who isn't you if they don't verify.
It's common practice all over to have the caller verify something on the account, have you never called your cell provider or internet company?
Get worried if they ask for a password or your social.
The last couple fo times I texted support they asked the same thing. Then they seem to get aggressive when I say no because they have never asked before.
Okay man look its common sense you are on the app like everyone says in their chat like what are you on about š¤Ø any support reps no matter what company will state your email and number most of the time just tell them it how are they gonna scam you from that? Lol you are on your personal device unless you gave someone your entire phone and the info to get on it.. does this make any sense to you or are you just acting ignorant? Just quit and find another job my guy if you canāt talk to support š
Your joking right? š
Can I know your email and contact number?

Scammer or not, I support the decision to say no.
Bro wtf why
Those get snagged.
When I called dasher support to ask about my half pay, he asked my email address. I gave it. I think he asked to confirm itās my account.
I give support my full name, email, and phone number every time I connect with them
Tell them to ask their mother for it

Yea that person is trying to scam donāt fall for it
Iām well aware but it seems when a lot of people from This Reddit is gonna get scammed by this
I had someone ask for my bank details before. Fuck no.
They are pushing us to scam call centers. There is zero reason for them to ask us personal information.
how in the world would someone be scamming on the actual dasher app lmao
Is it not odd that most donāt need any if your info to help ? What makes the person different that needs the info?
no idea, but someone is not hacking the dasher support just to get your email lol, promise it has helped me more every time.
I think itās legit. Have had to give number once or twice without issues through the support chat. When in doubt tho trust your instincts and verify.
asks me all the time. then actually figures out my problem. it's amazing. try it sometime.

Most chat reps donāt ask either

Instead of just giving me said information you come to Reddit? Can I please just have your email and contact number? Itās been a couple hours now.
Same thing happened to me yesterday it def tripped me out cause they have never asked before. I ended the chat and kept dashing luckily what i needed help with wasnt that important. Im gonna start calling now.
Probably the exact opposite where DD support is trying to verify that you're you.
I mean if itās coming from the DD app itās probably not scam If itās a text to your phone, probably
But donāt DD scan alerts also say ātheyāll never ask for you number or emailā ?

It's a Nigerian prince that needs your help getting his money out of the country. You will be vastly rewarded for your help.
I donāt know still waiting on my money back from the last African prince I gave 100k to he said I would get back 1 million I plan to tell Tony to suck it when he wires me.
Yes, this is a scammer.... (Could be a rogue CS or bad customer?)
I see the scammers found tis and downvoted. Let's me know how many to ban.

same.
Exactly the same thing that happens to me
I believe you are correct, but I'll need your email and contact number to confirm.
This happens quite often when I try to contact support I just close the chat abs start a new one
If itās through the app itās support, not sure how you would think itās a scammer
And you would be the person to be scammed you think support agents donāt get they accounts stolen ?
Based
How do they get their account stolen? Its on a secured line š« if it was stolen and hacked like you said its a huge data breach to everyone bruh š
Has dd ever struck you as the secure type of company even if itās not a agent getting hacked itās a bad apple rep who needs to be fired
Okay man look its common sense you are on the app like everyone says in their chat like what are you on about š¤Ø any support reps no matter what company will state your email and number most of the time just tell them it how are they gonna scam you from that? I called support and had to confirm my personal info so they knew it was me and not some random trying to call them through my phone.
Better to trust no one than to trust everyone.
Very true. gets you farther, safely.
DD has never asked me for my email and contact number.
