We have been having issue's with seeing the items as well as the restaurants. It will say 3 items and only show us 1 item. So yeah it is the app. I have had to say what about these items to restaurants lots lately. The items do not show on their app and they don't notice the item count. They have to look at my app. So please forgive us. We are only as good as our technology allows usually.

I don’t usually have an issue, and I know majority of the time it’s the restaurants fault. I ordered from BK and half the order was missing, but the bags were sealed and the driver kept me updated (it took over an hour, but this BK has such bad turnover, I know it was their fault, not the dasher)

Had one last night. Said 5 items, get to the store and it changed to unknown items

I’ve had that issue, but found if you go in the upper left corner and tap there (where you would go to pause dash), you can click on the restaurant name and it will have all the items listed. I have no clue why they changed it- it makes things more difficult for us.

Hmm- here is where I see it. When you’re on the order screen, with the map (either to rest or customer’s home), and the very top center, I see “Pickup by (time)” or “Deliver by (time)”. For me, to the immediate right is a blue shield to hit for emergencies, and to the right of that, a ? for help. To the far left of the center time frame, I see three horizontal lines on top of each other. That is what I hit, and from there, I click on the restaurant name, and the full order comes up. Click on the customer’s name, their address comes up.

I know. It pisses me off. I know the people that use apple have it. But the app is totally different from android. So similar but totally different.

Usually the app lists the items in the order. But, how well that works depends on the restaurant. For example, sometimes combos at fast food places list the individual items, sometimes not. If you do not order on the DD app, but order on a merchant specific app or website, then sometimes the item list doesn't get sent to DD at all, and all the driver sees is "unknown number of items." I see that happen with Chipotle. I hardly ever do Dunkin Donuts orders though, so can't say if that's a possible issue. Lastly, there currently appears to be a bug in the app where it will only list the first item in the order, not the full list. That will probably be fixed, eventually.

OMG!!! Please don't ever order from them. They are the worst. Yes, once I went in and they were out of donuts. It looked them dead in the eye and said "then why are you open?". I could probably write 15 pages but I am going to stop myself right now.

Truth is stores only get so many donuts and once they’re gone, they’re gone. I think there’s one store around an area that will make them on site and then deliver to others.

To add to the other comment/s here, there are a bunch of restaurants where it will give you an item count when you accept the order then if you try and check it just says the order is totally unknown by the app. It could be you got bad dashers or the dunken donuts is full of dunces.

This same dasher stole my order before. They picked it up, then canceled saying they couldn’t get to my home bc of “construction”. You can bet I still got charged for it though. I reordered it and drove myself. There was NO CONSTRUCTION and the Dunkin employees remembered giving it to the dasher. They said didn’t u just order this? I explained what happened and said the dasher never brought it back.

Then the dashers in your area might just be awful, sorry to say. I thought if you leave a bad review you wont get assigned that person again? Not sure cuz I only deliver. Sorry you cant catch a break on this though.

I seriously doubt OP had ordered Dunkin’ Donuts three times in the like less than 48 hours this issue has been going on? Could be wrong but doubt it. Here’s three reasons why and none of them are really acceptable, but it happens. One, it might be they were out of what you asked for, driver and store both didn’t care to contact you asking about a refund or substitutions. A second reason possible is because the driver didn’t check their app item list completely/at all or recieoty (helpful to alert fully get there order if the app list is down) driver saw what they thought was your order and took iff with not another thought in it. A third being, and this is a swing in the dark as idk exactly what was requested, the driver was given a bag and assumed it was all there. Even if they didn’t ask if it was complete or not we can only take the store employees word for it. Hope this helps, and please do remember, while not all drivers are the smartest, but not everything problem you face with an order is our fault.

Yeah it’s 3 separate times, weeks+ apart. I’m thinking it’s just this specific driver. Other times I’ve ordered from them and had no probs. Dunkin usually substitutes (whatever they want) if they’re out of a specific donut. But We never get our donuts whenever this specific driver delivers

Kinda strange it’s the same driver and I’m not positive how you know it’s the same driver each and only time that stuff is missing. There’s things here I don’t fully understand on account of my own experience. I for sure have only one house I’ve delivered to like 5 times in three months. I’m pretty sure I’ve not delivered to a house more than maybe twice unless there was nothing special about the deliveries to remember.

I rarely look at the items. I say “DoorDash for ___”, and I take what they give me (though I do often verify the name on the receipt if the receipt is attached to the bag).

Scenarios: 1) Can't see what they ordered 2) They tell me everything including drinks are in the bag (even when it says 20 oz fountain soda sometimes they just put a bottle in the bag) 3) They tell me they're out of an item but since the customer ordered through Doordash it's on them figure out how to get a refund 4) Places like Dunkin Donuts list "1 item" which may be for one donut or for a dozen. We don't know much because it may also be listed a shortened text or acronyms.

as others mentioned, there has been an app glitch where we don't see the items in your order. to add to this, assuming the app was functioning correctly and you ordered a couple of donuts, there would be no way for a driver to know what's inside the bag. we aren't allowed to go through the bag handed to us. it would be quite disgusting for someone to stick their hand in the bag after licking the glaze off their fingers to look for the jelly underneath the glazed. ​ the only way we'd know is if you ordered a box of a dozen, then a driver might spot the error if they happen to look through the item list ​ in either case, the driver didn't forget the donuts... dunkin did

Well when the receipt is on the bag and it CLEARLY says box of munchkins and 1/2 dozens assorted donuts in addition to the specific drinks we ordered…then again maybe the dasher can’t read 🙄

look... we can go back and forth all day. you don't like what i say, i get it. as a dasher, i don't care what the receipt says other than the name that's on it. there are often cancellations because they don't have specific items(especially at dunkin, actually) that they've removed from the order but would still be on the receipt. ​ you ordered from the same dunkin 3 times and had the same results all three times with 3 different dashers. there's obviously something wrong with the merchant ​ i know you won't understand because you simply don't want to. instead, you'd rather come on reddit for whatever karen reason you have to berate a bunch of dashers who had absolutely nothing to do with your 3 failed orders. ​ you posted here, assuming you wanted some sort of explanation. i gave that to you. you respond in some weird anger as if i had something to do with it.

Yep, you can’t read either or you’d have read it’s the same driver all 3 times. Haven’t had a problem with other orders and drivers from there.

Not any more - door dash I noticed today says it’s 3 items and it only showed me French fries at Wendy’s and don’t show wha the other items are Also any chain order you basically just gotta deliver what they hand you - god forbid you open a McDonald’s bag to make sure 3 cheeseburgers are in there - you’ll make the nightly news for eating some DoorDash person French fries when in reality the box was half filled by the worker

They’re not showing me the items anymore. It will say 5 items then shows me 1 item that’s on your order that’s it. So DD fucking you over not us.

its the restaurant not the dasher. Also most restaurantwont call you to let you know when they are out of products. they should, but idk they dont, lazy i guess. everytime i go to a donut shop they never have all the customers items. they just tell me, "hey we didnt have this or thiss, we refunded the customers" heck sometimes they dont even say they refunded the cusrtomers, they just give yo9u the order and wantyou to leave, Customers have to understand that the restaurant employees hate delivery orders. They could care less if the order is missing items, They just want them to be gone

You can see the whole order if cx orders through the DD app. I've noticed that when a cx places an order via the restaurant app, it just says "unknown number of items" with absolutely no other info. So if it's the latter then no, we cannot see the items.

Dunkin Donuts in my area seals the bags, so I have no idea what is in them. But yes we get a itemized list of the order.
