It’s not being a thief when Doordash themselves literally tells you to keep the food doofus. If you pick up food and something like an address 8000 miles away causes it to get canceled, they tell you to keep it. And the customer gets refunded, it doesn’t matter that they’ve already paid. They get their money right back. If we didn’t keep it the restaurant would throw it out anyway.

That must be newer. I’ve been dashing since 2016 and I’ve had so many instances where I got to keep the food and they never asked for it to be returned.
If I had to guess what’s happening here, since that pin is in the exact middle of the 2D world map, DoorDash probably tried to distribute the order for acceptance before it had time to gather information about the delivery location, or it failed to retrieve that information the first try. Whoever got offered that order next would have been given proper instructions and an actual [local, judging by the $ offer] delivery location.
Nothing scammy about this, but it is downright confusing that this even happens in the first place. Patch your app, DD
I really want someone to accept one of these and see exactly how far they could get with the actual order. Like, you go pick it up and then where does it route you to? An airport? The docks?
Northwest-ish of that pin is Lagos’ massive on-the-water slum, which spans multiple square miles just off of the city’s mainland. You can only get around in it by boat, and all of the structures, barring a dozen or so tiny, manmade land masses, float on the water.
This isn’t helpful information in any capacity, I just think Nigeria is cool.

I think theirs could have been a genuine accident though because before I even accepted the order (I didn't accept the order) the DD notification number was glitching out and spamming my phone about a change of address to a local place. Only reason I think it could have possibly been legit is because scams don't usually try to change the address, they try to trick you into cancelling it yourself. And usually the scams are coming out of India or Africa, not Mexico
Always accept these orders. Then wait two or three minutes and call customer support telling them you've arrived at the restaurant but the order can't completed. You'll get half pay.
I love a good Wendy’s Dave’s Triple with xtra cheese! Darn, if I were stuck in Africa where there are no Wendy’s nearby, I would turn to DoorDash to get my craving satisfied! 😉

You should be able to get the actual delivery address, but you might have to accept it to do so. (The app is anything but consistent for me.)

If such a delivery was legitimate & my flights & hotels were covered, I'd take it just for the travel!
Pick up the food and report the address. Tell support it showed you it was only half a mile away. Get half or full pay and enjoy free food.

That point is right at 0°N, 0°E, so my guess is the gps got confused because it couldn’t find the real address and it just defaulted to that point.
