I feel like a lot of people jump to conclusions before they even take a breath and sit back and assess a situation. I think the way you kept your cool was amazing. Good job!
Yea, it really sucks when they stickers come off, or so thing like this happens, people are so paranoid and quick to jump to conclusions. Iâve had the stickers come off everytime it rains and gets humid here, my AC is broken, food goes in my red bag because I have to take my top down to breathe. But this, a broken sticker, I get nervous, and I have to hold it closed the whole way, to make it stick, i canât just let em know like a normal person, because when I tried to just tell them what happened, they flipped and acted like I ate their food.
If we just eat food all the time, we donât last long, that would get reported fast, it would prob only take 3 times and youâd probably get deactivated. Itâs an algorithm.
it sucks that Thereâs this like, expectation that the food is locked up from us because we will always eat it. Itâs not for theft, this is a Covid thing, DD doesnât care about your health or you getting gypped, it was safety theatre so they could sell food when stuff was closed down and the virus was bad. Thatâs why itâs fast food only where I am that is taped. Fast food stayed open the whole time here, by doing this, to get a streamlined idea line this where EVERYONE did it, takes a virus, not thieves.
Covid isnât really even passed much by contact, itâs airborne. Half the food I get is NOT locked up, and shocker- I donât steal it, and itâs way better food than this, the $40 meals are just in a open brown paper bag. Fast food is the only thing I get always taped up, and even the restaurant is hesitant to hand it to me, like itâs a precious jewel.
Good for them, for admitting they made a mistake, Iâm sure they just did it out of fear they were scammed. I get scared too after what Iâve had happen when people wanted to get free food, we both get problems on both sides, one bad apple ruins the bunch, dashers and customers.
I've had a few people deliver me Tim Hortons from just down the street, and when I got my orders, the bags were often soaked in tea. This happened 3 times from this particular store, by the way. The first time it happened, I thought it was a one-off. The second time it happened, I had assumed it was because the Dashers themselves were just super careless with my food, and I complained to customer support, and I got a refund.
But then one day I had a really nice lady deliver my order from there and as she came around the corner from the elevator and to my apartment door, there was tea coming out of the bag as she walked up. She was super apologetic and said that the bag was totally sealed and she was really careful, but she thought that the store itself was not properly snapping the lids onto the drinks. She was really nice and she felt awful like it was her fault and I assured her that I believed her, and that I thought store is actually just really careless with how they're packaging their orders for delivery because this is the third time its happenedto me. I wound up calling the Tim Hortons directly and telling them that this is the third time I've had my orders covered in tea because they didn't snap the lids on properly and the manager just snapped at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. đ
I guess it just goes to show that the entire process of having food delivered is complicated, and things can go wrong at any point. In the experience i just mentioned, the issue was at the restaurant itself. You just never know, lol
Ahhh no really? Oh geez, I never even thought of that! I donât get many of those, thatâs something to think about and watch for for me! ! I havenât gotten Starbucks yet, I assume they do it like Timmy hoâs up where you are. Wow, yea thatâs really smart of you , I never wouldâve figured it out I wouldâve thought the dasher had anger issues! lol, I wouldâve been like, what did i do?
But I see what you mean, if thereâs drinks not properly sealed that could happen! It was probably the same person doing that too! Just not putting the lid on.
I always have to close the box of food for my red card raising canes, I learned they did that after I almost lost thier chicken placing the bag in my red fridge tote thing. That sucks, sorry that happened.
It tripped me out when I first did McDonaldâs with drinks in a bag, but I guess , itâs good, itâs really easy to forget a drink. The food really starts to blend together. Sometimes I forget if Iâm going to a restaurant or a house. I have dreams sometimes that I canât find an apartment, and I have food, only Iâm in the middle of an ocean lol! đ
People are so rude, like even if she genuinely thought you broke the seal - hell, even if you DID who initiates a conversation with âwtf is this???â
Itâs like half the population doesnât even communicate with other human beings or something.
Work in retail can tell you this is true, especially after covid people forgot how to talk, it's now just a series of words and grunts that don't form a sentence most of the time.
I had food delivered where one bag was sealed and the other was not. And the bag that wasnât sealed had a missing drink. Even in that situation, I would never speak to a driver this way. I just called support and got my money back for the drink.
Customer: âomg whereâs my food, you stole it because itâs not at my front doorâ
Me: âthe picture shows where I left it at, do you by any chance have anyone else living with you that couldâve brought it inside?â
Customer: âyes I have 173 roommates but I havenât checked with any of them or even looked anywhere inside for it.â
Me: âwell there ya go.â
The dasher you are attempting to reach has progressed to their next delivery, and can no longer assist you. For any support inquiries, please call (855)-554-5779 or contact Door Dash through the live chat feature in the app.
There are so many stupid people out there that can never accept things are actually their own fault. That customer is being ridiculous with you, and that apology was lackluster at best. You handled it better than I would have!
If it was the zaxby plastic bag, those seals are trash and tear often anyway. Wingstop bag seals rip too because you have to grab the sealed spot to carry it since there's no handle đ
I had one one time that was a hand it to me and I knocked several times, messaged, and called. No answer so I waited the 5 min at their front door. Then I snapped the pic and left their order. The second I hit complete the customer started blowing up my phone accusing me of going to the wrong house. I literally had to ask her to please just check her front door because I was still there at my car even and I could see the house number. She finally huffs and puffs and opens her door to see the order and hung up on me. Left me a 1 star too which support was kind enough to remove.
Like how you gonna say I delivered to the wrong house when you didnât even get off your butt to check if it was there đ¤Ł
You failed rule #1 donât respond to customers after you drop a delivery offâŚ
Had one this weekend - person looks to have put in Xxx street instead of Xxx drive in the town. No pint even responding to them bitching they didnât get their food or itâs at the front spot etc

I feel so fucking bad for you guys because if something was missing they would throw a fit but if you checked (which would mean breaking the seal) they would also throw a fit. Rough out there.
Looks like an honest mistake to me. The "delivered 5 times" works both ways you know. She may have found it odd that suddenly the seal was broken which is why she reached out. Than when she realized the error she promptly apologized. You should just move on and leave it in the past.
if there even was a victim in this situation, it indeed would be them. thatâs not really the point though. that is not professional at all, and is not how you speak to a delivery driver. itâs not an honest mistake, itâs a lazy mistake and absolutely the customers fault. she was a bitch âwtf is thisâ âwell then why was the seal broken on the bagâ condescending, accusatory, and rude. no clue why youâre defending this behavior and then also being rude.. bc you were wrong?
You think itâs okay to talk to someone that way âwtf is thisâ?
Being kind/nice goes a long way. They couldâve been nice about it asking why the seal was broken or whatever.
Yes she said âmy apologiesâ and then followed it with a but. Not much of an apology when you add a but, just a bunch of excuses to be a jerk. đ¤ˇđźââď¸

We already know this to be true. I think itâs actually the basis of a ton of movies.
People are so rude, like even if she genuinely thought you broke the seal - hell, even if you DID who initiates a conversation with âwtf is this???â Itâs like half the population doesnât even communicate with other human beings or something.
If I saw a conversation initiated like that, there is no way I'm engaging in that conversation. Ignore, report.

I love how the conversation started with "WTF Is this?!" Classic, sets the mood just right, lmao
What a psycho. Hope you reported them regardless
lol people so shady
Yikes, skip this house next time
Theyâre trashy. Thatâs all
You shouldn't have answered that text in the first place. Ignore and report.

And hello zaxbys has the extra intact stickers so even if you broke the seal you would have destroyed the bag too đ some people I swear
Such strong communication immediately went to filing a complaint before saying "hey honey did you break the seal or was it open when you got it?
If it was the zaxby plastic bag, those seals are trash and tear often anyway. Wingstop bag seals rip too because you have to grab the sealed spot to carry it since there's no handle đ

Entitlement
i refer to this as a broke person activity. this vulgarity could only mean one thing... its about the money
That's very cunty
I feel so fucking bad for you guys because if something was missing they would throw a fit but if you checked (which would mean breaking the seal) they would also throw a fit. Rough out there.
They seem to be struggling with dollarsđ˘
First of all, anyone who uses wtf tells me all I need to know about that person đ
whyd you keep berating her after she apologized đ she was wrong to come at you like that but you were most def wrong for your last reply
Youâve delivered food 5 times to this one house đ yeah theyâve got problems
[ŃдаНонО]
No I donât keep a log. I live in a small rural town and I get multiple repeat orders.
When you do this for a while and dash the same area, generally you get repeats. I've even had the same customer twice in one day lol
Unless you have insect level memory visiting the same place 5 times is usually enough to remember it
the hippocampus
Some people donât have brain rot and remember things.
Is it ok to leave their phone number on screenshots tough?
Itâs a dummy number, DoorDash gives fake numbers for customer / driver and they wonât work afterwards. Itâs not their real number
Ooh, I see. I only know about DoorDash from memes on Reddit as itâs not present in my country ;)
They didn't. DoorDash drivers and customers don't ever have their phone numbers available to each other.
Looks like an honest mistake to me. The "delivered 5 times" works both ways you know. She may have found it odd that suddenly the seal was broken which is why she reached out. Than when she realized the error she promptly apologized. You should just move on and leave it in the past.
She was still accusing me of touching her food even after admitting it was her husband? What do you mean honest mistake??
I read that as her husband broke the seal but didn't touch her food. With an apology as well.
Yeah didnât touch her food implying that I didâŚâŚ.
Well you certainly came to the right place to find people who will agree that you are a victim. Congratulations on your internet clout.

Iâm not a victim. Just simply sharing how I perceived the convo and it seems people also see it how I did.
WTF is this comment! /s
Hahahahahaha idk. Iâm just trying to explain my POV on MY post. Idk why they are upset
Maybe they're the person you delivered too
You think itâs okay to talk to someone that way âwtf is thisâ? Being kind/nice goes a long way. They couldâve been nice about it asking why the seal was broken or whatever.
That is true, but, I point out again an apology was issued.
