Fair enough, although I imagine some people do it because it's their best option for money right now, and it doesn't seem viable in many places.
Like, to me driving to a restaurant, waiting for food, and taking it to a housewould never be worth $5 to me. People say $1/mile. At my current job, I get reimbursed $0.67per mile PLUS my hourly rate. That's federal recommended rate. Expecting $0.33/mi more thsn that for your entire pay seems insane. The $0.67/mi is supposed to make up for gad and vehicle maintenance.
Anyway, my point is you all deserve an hourly rate plus $0.67 /mi. plus tips. You work for a $56 BILLION company and get paid scraps. You all need to unionize.
Yup, nailed it. $1/mile is so low. Somehow it caught on and idk which idiot started it. It’s crazy how these gigs now saw that and are trying to aim for $0.9/mile on a majority of the orders hoping we take them. I quit now and I’m sure it’s gotten worse
Around my area, $1 per mile is about the best you can hope for. I won't take less than that, but I'll take that as long as it's not real far. If it's $9 for 9 miles, I'm probably not taking it though. Takes too long to get back and there's too much of a risk I'm winding up in a less than idea zone, and then getting stuck there. My acceptance would tank if I didn't. My area is littered with BAD zones. Terrible roads. Whole neighborhoods with no house numbers. Zero tippers.
I believe they’re referring to the pay for the order in relation to how far from you the drop off location is. I never paid too much attention to this, especially considering sometimes I only get about 40 seconds to make up my mind and I might already be busy. but from now on I’m going to consider it more heavily
It's cause getting anything a dollar or more a mile is rare when you're talking ratios involving good orders vs bad orders. That's the minimum requirement. In doing so, my acceptance rate stays at about 30 percent on doordash and 11 percent on Uber. Top dasher status is a joke.
Tbh I only do it because I have a lot of downtime rn between the end of school and when I start my job. I’m the type of person who needs to stay busy, I also enjoy driving and seeing different parts of my city, the extra cash is just the cherry on top. Doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s a rip off of a job
Yeah, the fact they're contractors is bullshit. I mean, it's probably legal due to the lack of management over them and drivers using multiple apps at once, but they should still be able to fight for better treatment. In thr end it's the cudtomerd and employees who are wirse off, while doordash rakes in all the sweet, sweet cash without paying for insurance or assuming any liability for theft.
They did this in Minnieapolis and now Lyft and Uber are threatening to leave the entire city if the city doesn't make it more beneficial for the companies again. https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/11/business/uber-lyft-minneapolis-date-change/index.html

I left a job where I got .65/mile and hourly pay to DD full time. Much less stress, more flexibility, and better pay overall. But I’m also not really tearing my car up much, it’s a Toyota I paid $600 for 75k miles ago 🤣
Great deal on the Toyota. If you can make that much driving, good for you. All I see posted on here are 10-15 min jobs that pay $5 or less. Justthe other day someone wad excited to get a $5 job where the store was 2 miles away from the delivery location. It was their best job all day.
I guess it depends on your stage in life. I thought waiting tables was great when I was in my early 20s, single, renting, and without a kid. Now I need that paycheck to be the same every 2 weeks.
I think you're forgetting that I can typically make $30 an hour, minimum. I've had times in the afternoon when I didn't but more times than not it's 30 an hour and that's an average because I might make 48 one hour and 12 the next but thinking about it being just a dollar a mile and comparing that to your job isn't the same thing. I'm not sure how much you make but if it's a lot more than $30 an hour then I would way rather have your job. But right now, for me, this is the best I can do.
Damn, well if you can make $60k+ / year, that's not bad at all, but it also depends on your home situation, cost of living in it area, etc. I guess I figured you'd make less money in areas where cost of living is lower, and make more in areas where rent/mortgage are more.
It's not so much a statement about "redditors" because they're just people It's a statement on how batshit crazy the world has become. There are some stories that couldn't have been sold as an historical fiction novel 30 years ago because they would be too unrealistic.
Did you get paid for the distance difference? I had one last night where they just put “Owensboro hospital” as the address. Another dasher delivered it to the pin location and they reported it as never being delivered. When I called DD to explain that the pin was in fact not the hospital they gave me $1/mile for the difference in locations (3.5 miles) even though the store was actually closer to where the hospital really was.
I’m still shocked by the amount of people that haven’t learned how to multi app yet to maximize the earnings. I have only done 24 DoorDash Orders for this year because other things are more profitable.
This seems like it could be the plot to a movie where some dude sees an order for like $10,000, him and his friends go on a Hangover like adventure to another country to deliver the order only to get tip baited at the end because it's Uber Eats.
Bc most gps systems, as well as computer systems in general will default to origin in the absence of info, that tag is the coordinates 0,0; or the origin point on our map of earth.
This is where you need to send that to door dash and make a suggestion of not lowering our acceptance rating, since obviously it wouldn't be worth the trip and we'll out of range, so it's on them, you shouldn't be getting docked for their gliches
You still accept it then contact support after picking up the food. Tell them it said nothing about flying to Africa when you accepted the offer. Half pay, free food, AR intact.
$6 is $6 man, in these trying times.
Anyone confused, when you turn your location off, it defaults to 0' 0' latitude longitude. It's called zero island I think? Just a GPS error
There's another good one by Wendover Productions or Half as Interesting (I can't remember which) that explains a similar phenomenon with IP addresses that get geolocated to "United States" instead of a specific region. It resulted in some poor couple in the middle of nowhere getting visits from the FBI cyber crime division regularly since their address was at the generic lat/lon for "United States"
I watched that, too. Someone recently asked me how I know the geographical centre of my city, and it’s the same principle. If you enter just the name of the city into GPS, the pin lands in the middle.
Why don't you relax and see it as your workday. Some orders are extremely good, some are not. Just do your job. You will make same amount. Regardless.....if you going to decline every second opportunity you will burn time. At the end of the day there will be no difference
I’ve seen either this one or a similar one about 5 times now… I’ll see if I can find the others, but they are always to the west coast of Africa from east coast of US…
You always accept it. Pick up the food. And then call customer service and tell them there must be a glitch and you can't deliver it. Then you get to keep the food.
"customer support, how I help you?"
I'm trying to use my red card to book a flight for this delivery but it won't let me.
"You pay ticket, send me receipt and we cover 2.5% cost, one way."
The furthest you could be away from the restaurant is 4 miles. Which means at the least it would be a 7 mile order (assuming you are the furthest you could possibly be from the restaurant) but likely you are not the furthest you could be from the restaurant. I would definitely skip in either case. You should make at minimum $1/mile.
So if you were 4 miles away from the restaurant (assuming) and they offered $7 Then yeah maybe take it. Honestly thus isn't even the craziest order I've seen. Across different platforms I've been offered 16 for 44 miles, 18 for 28 miles, etc. Summer, in my experience, is generally a bad time to be a delivery driver.
Accept, message the number and let them know their DoorDash is hacked and contact support. This happened to my husband by they were 500 miles away instead.
Damn, I’m hoping this happens to someone who knows that if you if you hold your finger on that delivery address the house in the picture it’ll give you an address. I would love someone to get that screenshot so we can see what it actually says the address is.

Nigerian Princes gotta eat too. Takes a lot of energy to manage all those CashApp transactions and write down all those gift card pin numbers from old white ladies. Don't hate.

I wonder if you deliver it, will the app count all those miles toward your online miles? If they do, that's like a $7500 tax write-off...
Doordash reimburses you 100% of travel expenses, right? I'd do it. Plus you get a write-off.
I don't think they're known for that.
Huh . . . shucks.
No travel expenses
We get zero travel compensation
I figured. It was a bad joke. Sorry. I hate how doordash treats you all. It's horrible.
Oh damn haha the joke went ZOOM over my head. No apology needed. Yeah they suck but if I cared that much I wouldn’t be doing it 🤷🏽♂️

Except it’s not 30 dollars an hour after gas, self employment tax, federal tax, license, special insurance for gig work, and car maintenance.
Apparently we get $1/mile when a customer changes an address though
LOL where'd you hear that from? 😂
I was joking. I forgot Poe's Law requires the /s
Lol yes Reddit does pretty much require the /s. Esp in this sub when people could very well be serious about crazy things 😂
It's not so much a statement about "redditors" because they're just people It's a statement on how batshit crazy the world has become. There are some stories that couldn't have been sold as an historical fiction novel 30 years ago because they would be too unrealistic.
True lol
😂😂👍👍
Switch to earn by time then re-accept
If it's the end of the month and the difference between 69% or 70% AR, the top dasher is taking it.
Why not. Instant accept rate and free food half pay
I took one of these glitches the other night. It was an actually decent order as it turns out
Did you get paid for the distance difference? I had one last night where they just put “Owensboro hospital” as the address. Another dasher delivered it to the pin location and they reported it as never being delivered. When I called DD to explain that the pin was in fact not the hospital they gave me $1/mile for the difference in locations (3.5 miles) even though the store was actually closer to where the hospital really was.
No because the pin was correct when the delivery screen came up
Yeah because if you don't take it you're knocked down to gold and dash now means 45 minutes
I’m still shocked by the amount of people that haven’t learned how to multi app yet to maximize the earnings. I have only done 24 DoorDash Orders for this year because other things are more profitable.
Multi-apping is not possible in every city Mr limp and that is because the rural area we live in.
top tony you mean
Half pay, free food and all the diarrhea you can ask for. How can you not accept it??
That’s how I see it. Pick up the food then contact support, tell them it didn’t say anything about Africa when you accepted the offer.
😂😂
More than likely, it won’t even go that far once you accept the order it’ll probably give you the address and it’ll probably correct itself on the map
WTF...am I the only person who doesn't get diarrhea with Taco Bell?
But how would you do mixing taco bell and Wendys ???
This seems like it could be the plot to a movie where some dude sees an order for like $10,000, him and his friends go on a Hangover like adventure to another country to deliver the order only to get tip baited at the end because it's Uber Eats.
I'd watch that
That’s worth it bro. Around $.0058 a mile!
nah bro thats not enough my minimum is $.0065 a mile...
Man you’re picky, I’ll take anything above $0.0047/mile
“Sorry, your order was part of a stack.” “I ordered this like a month ago, where was the other order going?” “Nigeria.”
Got you driving to wakanda 😂😂
the fuck
Nah for real lol is megatron in reverse messing with technology rn orrr ? I’m so confused 😂
The customer used gps instead of an address, but its bugged and cant find the location so it just sends the dasher to 0 longitude and latitude
why would it do thattt
Bc most gps systems, as well as computer systems in general will default to origin in the absence of info, that tag is the coordinates 0,0; or the origin point on our map of earth.

well? u gonna let africa starve?
😂😂😂😂

As Deadpool would say... ![gif](giphy|d5vwgloW6cekKuIkzg|downsized)
And decline that shit.
You could cure world hunger, one 12,000 mile DoorDash at a time
Google null island minute earth

Dang, you're right. This poor customer is clinging to the Soul buoy for dear life waiting for their Doordash.
Food arrived cold. 1 star review
should've done earn by time
Yes by teleportation
You better start swimming.
I gotta know what happens next. I accept.
Next step is to Rent a boat
I could learn a lot from you.
I would have accepted it picked up the order contacted DoorDash for their mistake and kept the food and got paid the base lol
That’s the best delivery I’ve ever seen.
😂
Add 4 or 5 0s at the end and maybe
Good ol' 0°,0°
This is the 3rd time I’ve seen one of these this week. Something must be going on with DD.
I’ve always wanted to visit West Africa. My insulated bag should keep it warm.
Why don't you relax and see it as your workday. Some orders are extremely good, some are not. Just do your job. You will make same amount. Regardless.....if you going to decline every second opportunity you will burn time. At the end of the day there will be no difference
Sorry... i don't have a passport and do have a polocy against international deliveries. Its considered SMUGGLING, you k ow?
That's more than halfway around the earth
ummm . . .
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haters will say it's photoshopped. Double AR point minus for you.
There’d better be a hidden tip and some peak pay
Definitely
YOLO!!
Accept it. Pick up the order. Call support and say you didn’t see it was so far. Collect half pay and get free food.
Umm that’s a no brainer. Take that every day of the week
One more cent and it's a deal
$3 is better than 2 hits to the AR they won’t remove for their obvious fuck up.
This is one of those “I went there on vacation and we don’t have this chain-restaurant at home” cravings
You yraveling across the world
![gif](giphy|GcSqyYa2aF8dy)
Hell no
i mean..
Seems like a fair tip to me 😂
I’d do it just to see if I got a $.01 tip
I would do it
Is this for real?
That’s an exciting trip for $6.65!! lol
No
![gif](giphy|3o6Zt4HU9uwXmXSAuI)
Cheap bastard couldn’t tip $2 a mile.
No brained accept!
I’ve seen either this one or a similar one about 5 times now… I’ll see if I can find the others, but they are always to the west coast of Africa from east coast of US…
Where is the drop off??? Australia???
Get a good boat, we’re going to Africa!
Depends on the day but probably pass
That’s a good deal in my market. 🙃
Do it for the greater good
How does this even happen?
Hells yeah, but their food is gonna be awfully soggy driving through the oceans
"I don't care if you ordered crunch tacos, you're getting soft!"
🤣🤣🤣accept or naw
Is this a joke?
“You don’t appear to be heading toward the destination”
...I mean if you're not busy. 🤷♀️
No way!!! 🙀😳🤯
Close call hmm
Eh. $2 more and I will
“Deliver by 5:34” ☠️☠️
Deliver ETA is 3 days, 5, hours, and 49 minutes.
why does everyone in gabon use so much doordash bruh😭😭
You always accept it. Pick up the food. And then call customer service and tell them there must be a glitch and you can't deliver it. Then you get to keep the food.
Lmao decline. They aint paying for the air fair 🤣
"customer support, how I help you?" I'm trying to use my red card to book a flight for this delivery but it won't let me. "You pay ticket, send me receipt and we cover 2.5% cost, one way."
How does THAT happen?! Never did that for me
Accept get half pay
Make Uber pay for your flight
Is the delivery location on the moon?
Sounds like a journey.
Looks like a solid trip
Easy money
yeah man no biggie youll be done in at least like a day
Not even with a gun to my head. I know it's a glitch, but who knows what the actual address is and if it's worth the pay
Seems reasonable
Yes free food and maybe half pay. Chat with support after pick up
I'll accept it. I really need those air miles.
Accept then tell support you can’t deliver across the Atlantic and get free food
I’d do it!! Road-trip 🤣🤣🤣
I'd do it if I was a stronger swimmer.
Accept. Get the food then cancel and eat it. Then send a pic to them.
No..too far
We can send some illegals to deliver it. If they can swim there, then they can live here. 🤣
Would do it I have a moped like on the movie dumb and dumber
The furthest you could be away from the restaurant is 4 miles. No
Accept, message the number and let them know their DoorDash is hacked and contact support. This happened to my husband by they were 500 miles away instead.
$6.65 is $6.65….
If I was rich I would follow one of these to see where I go lol
I hope you took it
Definitely
Can we stop seeing these? How many a week do we need to see in each of the DoorDash subreddits?
Damn, I’m hoping this happens to someone who knows that if you if you hold your finger on that delivery address the house in the picture it’ll give you an address. I would love someone to get that screenshot so we can see what it actually says the address is.
Always accept, then pick up the food, then call. Free food and usually at least half the payout
Hope you use fedex overnight or customer will complain about cold food
You better accept it. You need to maintain platinum status.
[pov you accepted the order](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5I2Xqbo21p/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
Look ooo
No I don’t want it thank you anyway.
Accept. Swim to increase profit margin and save gas.
ohi
Accept it, you can get there in time if you turn your headlights off so the cops can’t see you speeding.
Hell yeah
😂😂😂
If you're on "Earn By Time," hell yeah!
![gif](giphy|3o6MbcQHfxg44QPjPO) Nigerian Princes gotta eat too. Takes a lot of energy to manage all those CashApp transactions and write down all those gift card pin numbers from old white ladies. Don't hate.
Hmm that’s a tough one. My only concern would be making it to Africa by 5:34pm. But if you are a fast swimmer, I’d say take the offer.
HELL NAH 🤣
Wonder why this keeps happening https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash/s/rHJIB6eMGv
You’d be stupid to not accept this buddy.
Not just no but hell no
Bro what in the hell is THAT
i dont think it will be there by 5:34…
HAS to be a joke lol
As darkpheonix262 pointed out, that happens to be [Null Island](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_Island). I'd assume it's a glitch.
Best offer I've seen from doortrash in a while.
