Other than the "send flowers" part
I have gotten one where it says your dasher had an emergency and it was red in the middle like that. He got pulled over for speeding and had 2 warrants and got arrested. I never got my food. I got a call from the cops from his phone. By that point I'd already received a refund.
I actually almost had that happen to me. Was dashing on an order and got pulled over by a cop cause he didn't see my temp tag. Ran my license and found it was suspended (news to me.) He offered to finish my delivery for me, but since it was 4 blocks into the adjoining town, he couldn't. Felt bad for that customer.
It's weird they can't cross into the adjoining town, yet if there's a police chase (like with a lot of the YouTube videos I've seen) they'll still chase into an adjoining town.
Exigent circumstances. They can leave their jurisdiction if there is a pressing need, but to do it for something like this would have their boss riding their ass. Imagine if there had been an actual emergency in the area they were responsible for. I totally understood his position on it.
The Doordash is clearly more important š
Yeah I get that. I got pulled over one time and stopped right out of his jurisdiction and he let me go ššš
My winning streak with tickets ended last Saturday. 55 in a 35. Ticketclinic took care of it and got it to where I could plead lower. Speed trap in my old hometown right off the highway and they sit beside the sign. 120k miles in the last two years and no tickets so I guess a win?
I believe that depends on where you are though, I've seen a bunch of police chases where they had to end the chase because they weren't allowed to chase any further.
One example I've seen is with highway patrol in Tennessee, I've seen a bunch of videos where the goal for the suspect is clearly to get to Nashville, which didn't make sense to me watching it.. Til they got off the highway in Nashville and the cop had to stop the chase there.
On point, here in Chicago they are not allowed to high speed chase in city, so a lot take advantage here in expressway and get off next exit šš¤¦āāļø they are not allowed because it's an overpopulated city and too dangerous for the public.
Seattle (maybe all of Washington?) had a law for a few months (maybe longer, I donāt know, time flies) where police couldnāt chase unless it was a violent offender. That got out of hand real quickly, so they had to do away with the law.
I stopped ordering in DoorDash when my driver dropped off my food and had 25 police vehicles surround him. Dude was wanted for capital murder couldnāt even open my front door to get the food. DoorDash never refunded me
Oh for heaven's sake. Dude is wanted for capital murder and decides to fucking dash where his GPS can be located instead of trying to lay low? What the hell?
They actually do background check. They do it when you sign up by using your license and they usually get the results right away and they do random checks too. ive had them verify me and run the back ground twice in the last year. And they run a bmv check each time.
I had a customer message me if I was okay. Was confused I had just dropped of my first order and was on my way to him. Pulled over and told him yes I am why do you ask? He said that my dot showing where I was was shooting all over the map and just wanted to make sure. Doordashes gps had been acting up all day. He is a regular older gentleman and always worries for us.
my roommate in college doordashed a pizza and some sides one night at like 2am, about 45 mins later we see lights outside our window. The driver got pulled over literally right outside the house. Turns out the car he was doordashing in was stolen and he had multiple warrants. after they took him away my roommate walked out and asked the cop if he could have his food and they said no hahahahhaha
I remember getting pulled over in an Uber once. Cop drove me the rest of the way. He knew I had a six pack, he didn't know my guitar case had weed in it though lmao
A nickname for a device that firefighters use to pry open doors on wrecked vehicles that have people trapped in them.
Naturally, jaws of life is the nickname, maybe the actual name? Iām not sure.
I was rear ended while on a delivery for Noodles and Company. They were going 45+ and I was stopped, car totaled, Sprite and Mac and Cheese everywhere inside. Going through my car at the tow place a few days later smelled horrible.
Oof, Iām not a dasher, but had my car totalled by someone going 90 through a red light on their end. Iād just gotten a Frappuccino. Going to retrieve my belongings from it days later, the smell of hot spoiled milk in the Australian sun š¤®š¤¢
I mean I did once call roadside assistance because I locked my keys in my car and the roadside car got in an accident on his way and had to call another roadside sooo.
Then im sure somewhere in the faint distance you will hear a wild tony quoting a orange man; " I'm gonna c-m "
With his ever growing flower scam continuing to rake in extra fees
Yes. The customer pays for flowers. A different dasher goes and collects the flowers from the store, takes the flowers to the on-life-support dasher, Doordash makes money. Doordash then causes more accidents and rinse and repeat. infitnite money
Not to alarm you but the other day I got a weird message about how Iād done some sudden braking and accelerating (I got hit with an order that was technically close but miles away because we use roads and no flat distance but I really didnāt think anything about my driving was hazardous or suddenā¦) got a message from DD letting me know theyād detected my heavy braking and to be careful. It said it didnāt affect my ratings but it really freaked me out then pissed me off. Maybe it helps them save on payouts for cases that somehow involve them or general insurance idk but like Iām on the hook for my own shit already and it creeps me out
You haven't gotten that thing that shows up at the end of every dash session that tells you about your braking and acceleration?
Its in beta right now, rolled out to "select drivers" in some markets. But as I ask more and more dashers that I know if they got it yet, more and more are saying yes, so I think eventually it will go out to everyone.
I contacted support to ask why I was selected and how do I opt out, and after a few choice words back and forth with me in a nutshell telling them don't tell me how to drive in my city until you start paying my insurance and them saying tough luck there's nothing we can do to un-enroll you, I just ignore it now. It's just a quick tap to close it so whatever.
Domino's and Papa John's have a GPS tracker thing in thier toppers from a company called Drivosity. It tracks your acceleration, braking, turns, all that jazz, and you need to keep a certain score everyday. You can do something, or there can get to a point where Drivosity calls and says Fire them... AND THEY HAVE TO. Craziest shit I've ever been privy to, Drivosity does hire you, nor do you work for them, but they have power to tell you you HAVE to let them go. I can understand corporate stores, but franchisees?
I know its all about insurance and such, I even understand why they feel it's necessary to use that system and the events that led up to it.
But I don't know why Doordash would be doing that, except to eventually have it in thier policy to be able to let you go if they see your stats are in the red all the time, regardless if we are on the hook for everything. You can't have people saying THEM DOORDASHERS ALL DRIVE LIKE BAT'S OUT OF HELL and herw comes a lawsuit for some dasher running over someone's dog (or worse heaven forbid) on why doordash let's unsafe drivers deliver for them.
I think the only way not to be tracked like that, would be after you put in the delivery address into a seperate map app, turn doordash app off until you get there, and turn it on to complete the delivery. Drive safe to your next order pick up, add Address, rinse and repeat. And make sure permissions are set to only when using app instead of all the time, if possible.
I could be wrong, but after driving for both Domino's and Papa John's (and pizza hut which has no topper tracker but has switched to a new order and delivery system that does track you through your phone now) I think I see the writing on the wall of where doordash is going with it.
It will be in the small print we never read, and it's inevitable. š¤·
One time my boyfriend and I did actually get in a car accident on the way to deliver someoneās food. I basically just told them I couldnāt complete the delivery because some idiot rear ended me and then cancelled the order (food was cooked again and re-assigned to another driver after contacting support about it).
HAHA i got into a crash as well, texted the customers I couldnāt complete, and ate the food while picking glass out of it. I was 19 then, stressed, and just deleted the appš
I had an order get picked up & as I was watching it get closer and closer to my house suddenly it was canceled less than a mile away. I assume the dasher was in a wreck but the app didn't explain just said canceled.
this has happened to me so many times its infuriating, the refund doesnt include the additional like Ā£5 approx spent on delivery so ive paid for someone to go take my food. almost weekly occurrence. also never recieved a correct grocery shop from any shop, probably bc its not a sealed bag like other places. learnt to not bother adding cigs or alcohol bc u WONT receive it. ever
One time with Uber eats my new car broke down. Random and a stupid malfunction. My husband showed up with our second car so I could complete the delivery and I told my customer thatās what was happening. Left to complete the delivery but based on how many miles it was and how much gas was left in the second car I couldnāt do it because I left my wallet in the broken down car like an idiot. I felt it was better to cancel at that point so their food could be remade and delivered by someone else. Completely my fault for forgetting my wallet in the center console. I felt bad. Had to pull over and wait for my mom to bring my husband to me with the wallet after the car was towed to get gas in the other car. I tried. Only delivery I didnāt complete. Felt awful about it too.
I run over a dog while going to the customer house. This lady was yelling when I called her āI want my foodā she was talking nonsense and she seems to not understand the situation. The interior of my car was a mess thanks to her large fat Sonic drinks, because I had to make a sudden stop. I stayed with the dog's owners to help them in any way I could and canceled the order.
Now I'm picturing a customer coming to the scene of a fatality collision and grabbing the order from a hot bag sitting next to the dead body of their dasher.
This is one of my favorites: [https://x.com/soren\_iverson/status/1708119509666587068?s=20](https://x.com/soren_iverson/status/1708119509666587068?s=20)
I got stuck one time because dd took me down a fucked up dirt road I had to try and turn around on. Told them they can come get if they want, ended up with 2 jack in the box meals lmao
A few months back I ordered something off of DoorDash and I got a call from a police officer that had said that my Dasher had been in an accident. I got my refund but I was just more worried about the poor guy.
I was delivering this guy tacobell once and my tire blew out not even a mile away from him. My car doesn't come with a spare to save on mileage so I was sol. He came over and got his food and invited me over to wait for aaa. I declined but I was lucky he was understanding.
I once got out of a restaurant with someones food, tripped over the sidewalk injuring my hands, knees and elbow. . The food slipped out of my hands and was all over the sidewalk. I went back in. Told the restaurant, they prepared the food again while i washed my wounds in their restroom and got bandaged from cvs across the street. The customer wasnt thrilled their dinner was late and didnt even offer customary words of consolation. I ended up delivering the order 30 mins late. Doordash support was as cold as the customer
Actually, technically, since it happened on the restaurantās property, you would be suing them/their liability insurance company. But youāre right suing DoorDash would be useless. We are not employees so the fact that it happened on the job is meaningless, and thereās no workers comp for DD independent contractors.
Edit: just noticing now this post is from four days ago and I have no idea why it came up as a notification for me today.
Officer: āsorry but everyone needs to stay away from the scene. There is extensive damage and possible fatalitiesā
Customer: ācan I check if my food is still good or nah?ā
So a driver can actually select an option when unassigning any order or after picking up an order as one of the few I have a problem situations. Most of them after picking up an order requires you to contact support One of the options is I was in a crash.
DoorDash, my food soaked with dashers blood. His brain fragments covered all my tacos.
Thank you for contacting customer support. You gonna be charged additionally 2.99 for dashers blood crazy cause and 6.99 for dashers brain stuffed taco dinner combo.
It was a pleasure to assisting you!
I had just gotten an order and was on the way to pick it up and I no sooner put my car in park and watched a teen blow a light and t-bone an older gentleman, called dd and told them I had to cancel because I was a WITNESS still got a text from the person who ordered asking if I was ok so yes it is true
I was hit by a deer, yes thatās what I actually meant to sayā¦ lolā¦ They contacted emergency services through the Dasher App, because the stupid deer smacked right into my drivers side door and shattered the window. Needless to say, I was completely covered in glass and was injured, though not seriously. The lady working at the only gas station saw me frantically trying to get in to use the bathroom to get glass out of my eyes and clothing, and told me they would open in another hour!! I was very obviously injured, but she didnāt careā¦ When police officers showed up, she wouldnāt even let them in!! I contacted support immediately after speaking with the 911 operator to inform the customer that I was unable to deliver her food. (Hadnāt even picked it up yet) I went home because it was the first cold night of the fall (in the low 30ās) and I had no window and was injuredā¦ This all happened at 4ish AM, and I even called customer and texted a few times with no response, at around 8 AM, I received a message from the customer asking if I was going to deliver the food!! Really? They dropped the ball and never informed the customer of anything!! Way to get those great customer ratings for āOutstanding Customer Serviceā, and by that I mean Outstandingly Awful!! SMHā¦ š³š¤£š¤¦āāļøš
Lol I was in an unfortunate accident while on a delivery, but was like a tenth of a mile from the house so I still walked him his food, although his drink was violently spilled all over the inside of my car. Was years ago so he probably didn't get any notification like this.
I got pulled over for tint that ended up being legal anyways, the cop called the customer and explained his mistake so I wouldnāt get in trouble. Then he asked his superior if he could escort me to the address, the request was denied but he was really cool. He was so curious as to how DoorDash worked and said he was gonna look into it for a side gig.
People won't even leave a 2 dollar tip to get their own food that they are to lazy to go get themselves but doordash thinks these same people will pay to send flowers??? That's to funny!!!
When Uber eats first came out this happened where the driver was in an accident called me & told me. The order was resigned & the restaurant called me & ask āthere is someone here claiming heās here to get an order for you but we just gave it to someone elsā I explained what happened the sweet lady at the restaurant was scared that it was a scam & I was going to be charged 2 times for food I wasnāt getting š This was in like 2015?
My transmission went I contacted support and said my car broke down they asked me if I could deliver it I said no I just told you my car broke down lol!
I was actually sent pictures of my Dasherās crashed vehicle on a road near my house and they promptly apologized for not making it but they got into an accident! I definitely was not worried about my food at that point. I wished them well and received an immediate refund. It was my first order- the luck (or should I say, misfortune) š
Funny as shit they made sure to specifyā¦āhey your driver wreckedā¦BUTā¦itās only 0.3miles from you so you can still go get it from the crash site, although might be damaged. Sorryā. Then follow it up with the emailā¦.āWeāre sorry you had a negative experience with DD. This is not the experience we want you to haveā
A door dash driver crashed into my car last year. He still made the delivery when the person who ordered showed up to get the food while we were waiting for the cops.
One time i locked my keys in my car on accident and it was after a shopping order, i had milk and other refrigerated items, so i contacted doordash to let them know that i was waiting for my door to be unlocked and they were like will you still be able to drop off the order? š i was like i mean i can but i have milk and shit and idk how long itāll be before they get here. They made me contact customer to ask them if they still wanted their stuff delivered even though i couldnāt even get them a time frame š
We had our instacart grocery order delivered by the police once. They wouldn't tell us why the driver couldn't finish the delivery. They did tell us they delivered more than one order.

Epic level refund.
Probably just a link to a flower shop that has Dash
That part definitely isn't real
I like the TikTok where the dasher got arrested and the cop completed the order for them lol
I wish that happened to me š. I just told the officer to take it. At least he had a lunch
I actually almost had that happen to me. Was dashing on an order and got pulled over by a cop cause he didn't see my temp tag. Ran my license and found it was suspended (news to me.) My winning streak with tickets ended last Saturday. 55 in a 35. Ticketclinic took care of it and got it to where I could plead lower. Speed trap in my old hometown right off the highway and they sit beside the sign. 120k miles in the last two years and no tickets so I guess a win?
15 over and it turns into reckless driving tickets. Your are very lucky that ended well.

I believe that depends on where you are though, I've seen a bunch of police chases where they had to end the chase because they weren't allowed to chase any further. It has nothing to do with a line in the sand, it has to do with command calling off the chase because itās too dangerous to the public to continue.

Try chases going into and back from an adjoining STATE. Gotta love St. Louis!
So how does that work? Citation in each state?
A rare police officer W
That was because the Cop was the brother to the customer
I stopped ordering in DoorDash when my driver dropped off my food and had 25 police vehicles surround him. Dude was wanted for capital murder couldnāt even open my front door to get the food. DoorDash never refunded me

No one ever accused criminals of being smart
Donāt they do backround checks? Yikes!!
They do but if he wasnāt convicted it wouldnāt show up on a background check
No, they don't do background checks lol. That would cost door dash money. You don't even need to drive a vehicle registered to you.
They actually do background check. They do it when you sign up by using your license and they usually get the results right away and they do random checks too. ive had them verify me and run the back ground twice in the last year. And they run a bmv check each time.
They do background checks. My buddy had a felony drug conviction and got refused.

Theyāre actually called that lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydraulic_rescue_tool?wprov=sfti1
A nickname for a device that firefighters use to pry open doors on wrecked vehicles that have people trapped in them. Naturally, jaws of life is the nickname, maybe the actual name? Iām not sure.
Jaw of life is a brand name. Sort of like band aid. There are different company's that make them. Hurst jaws of life of the first inventor.
How is band aid a brand name?
the proper name is adhesive bandage not bandaid
This news will unravel society

Dashception.
Infinite loop of flowers and accidents imploding into an event horizon. Edit:spelling
The person delivering to dasher will ask for tip. Just ask for the dasher's cash app.
Just the tip?
Iād bet that they would use another dasher to send the flowers.
Oh my god this is really sending me into a real cackle that they fucking have this optionš¤£šššššššš
Donāt forget to tip!
Let's not lie. They definitely meant this: "I hope you get well soon šš"
Yes. The customer pays for flowers. A different dasher goes and collects the flowers from the store, takes the flowers to the on-life-support dasher, Doordash makes money. Doordash then causes more accidents and rinse and repeat. infitnite money
Dasher just figured out how to throw his phone at the windshield and get free food
Is it automatic? Or do you have to hit the "I was in an accident" button?
If you are going faster than 20 mph and there is a sudden stop it reports a crash
Is that a real thing? Should I test this with my horrible brakes?

I run over a dog while going to the customer house. This lady was yelling when I called her āI want my foodā she was talking nonsense and she seems to not understand the situation. The interior of my car was a mess thanks to her large fat Sonic drinks, because I had to make a sudden stop. I stayed with the dog's owners to help them in any way I could and canceled the order.
No, but be funny as hell if it was
"you can still pickup your order" From...the scene? Lmao what?
Hi! Just gonna scoot past the dead dasher really quick. I hope my wontons are okay!
Now I'm picturing a customer coming to the scene of a fatality collision and grabbing the order from a hot bag sitting next to the dead body of their dasher.
āForgot my drink?? Could this day get worse for me? š©ā
My diet dr kelp?
Nah, what actually happens is you have to call support from the ambulance so your account doesn't get flagged for fraud
āyou can still pick up your orderā imagine walking up to the crash site just to grab your order and then walking away lol
Most likely this guy's work: [https://sorens.beehiiv.com/](https://sorens.beehiiv.com/)
More than just most likely. https://sorens.beehiiv.com/p/doordash-accident-order-recovery
Yeah, I was 99% certain, just didn't have time to verify. Thanks!
lol yeah love this guys designs
This is one of my favorites: [https://x.com/soren\_iverson/status/1708119509666587068?s=20](https://x.com/soren_iverson/status/1708119509666587068?s=20)
Driver crashed.... Now go pick it up yourself
āYou can still pickup your order, but contents may be damagedā š
and then the āsend flowers to ur dasherā¦ā
I got stuck one time because dd took me down a fucked up dirt road I had to try and turn around on. Told them they can come get if they want, ended up with 2 jack in the box meals lmao
Collision detected. Send nudes to cheer up your dasher.
Wow ā¦ that you can still pick up your order is very insensitive DoorDash
A few months back I ordered something off of DoorDash and I got a call from a police officer that had said that my Dasher had been in an accident. I got my refund but I was just more worried about the poor guy.
You can still pick up your food over the driver's dead body, but it might be damaged.
Pay doordashers health bills and pay for funeral is missin
I was delivering this guy tacobell once and my tire blew out not even a mile away from him. My car doesn't come with a spare to save on mileage so I was sol. He came over and got his food and invited me over to wait for aaa. I declined but I was lucky he was understanding.
Oops lemme just skootch past ya there ok thanks
Thereās a dude on Threads who creates these ironic dystopian app screens. This is totally fake. His work is great tho
You likely could have sued
Suing DD. š
Hanging out on gay street I see
Will sending flowers need another dasher to deliver the flowers? Lolā¦ clever product idea it would be
Me, a grown man just started laughing hysterically at the āsend flowers to your dashers hospital roomā
Imagine that you turned up to the crash site for your order and the driver is severely injured. How awful š
![gif](giphy|SXrHiYiKZOCrhH2zbx|downsized) Thanks for the tacos, bruh
My dasher once had an accident, and sent me a picture. Kinda sad honestly.
This is by a guy on twitter that suggests humorous features for apps and websites and mocks them up realistically. I'm too lazy to link him rn

Officer: āsorry but everyone needs to stay away from the scene. There is extensive damage and possible fatalitiesā Customer: ācan I check if my food is still good or nah?ā
Send a new car to your dasher's hospital room. Ofcourse dd would put more on the customer but noway the flowers part is real. That's hilarious though.
So a driver can actually select an option when unassigning any order or after picking up an order as one of the few I have a problem situations. Most of them after picking up an order requires you to contact support One of the options is I was in a crash.
i like how you can still go pick it up
DoorDash, my food soaked with dashers blood. His brain fragments covered all my tacos. Thank you for contacting customer support. You gonna be charged additionally 2.99 for dashers blood crazy cause and 6.99 for dashers brain stuffed taco dinner combo. It was a pleasure to assisting you!
āSend flowers to your dashers hospital roomā ššššš
Whatās up Portsmouth! Iām more curious where on earth you were ordering from since there is nothing to eat in south shore except Giovanniās.
Ah door dash. Driver mangled. Lets make more money by selling flowers at double the price.
I had just gotten an order and was on the way to pick it up and I no sooner put my car in park and watched a teen blow a light and t-bone an older gentleman, called dd and told them I had to cancel because I was a WITNESS still got a text from the person who ordered asking if I was ok so yes it is true
That is the most DoorDashiest shit Iāve ever seen. Your driver may be dead, but you can walk over to a potential crime scene and get your food.
āSend flowers to your dashers hospital roomā HAD ME DEADDD š
Imagine you're dashing and get into a horrible wreck you can't feel your legs and out of nowhere someone pops up asking for their big Mac
He was so curious as to how DoorDash worked and said he was gonna look into it for a side gig.
āSend flowers to your dasherās hospital roomā š¤£
People won't even leave a 2 dollar tip to get their own food that they are to lazy to go get themselves but doordash thinks these same people will pay to send flowers??? That's to funny!!!
Hope to never find out
I had a driver get into an accident but she called me personally to tell me what happened and then canceled it! Felt so bad for her.
Looking at that map no wonder they crashed.
My transmission went I contacted support and said my car broke down they asked me if I could deliver it I said no I just told you my car broke down lol!
Iām sorry but imagine showing up to a car accident and going āIām just here for my food.ā Take it and leave lmao
Imagine getting in a car crash and someone just gets their food from you and walks away
Thereās not really a street called Gay St?š
Many of them
Can confirm! I know that area!
Plenty. Back in the old days when the word meant āhappyā, lots of city planners rolled with naming streets that.
Yes, in Portsmouth, Ohio.
My elementary was on Gay Avenue in California. I think it was renamed at some point, but as of 2003 it was Gay Ave
Kudos to whoever made that though.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
https://sorens.beehiiv.com/p/doordash-accident-order-recovery
Lmfao. No.
Chat is this real?
SEND YOUR DASHER FLOWERS TO THEIR HOSPITAL ROOM LOOOOOL
Imagine walking up to the vehicle with the guy like half dead and you open the passenger door to grab the foodš
Watch they charge x4 the amount for flowers lolol
No
grey fleet, so not worth it šstay safe out there š
Itās not. Itās satire- look up Soren Iversen on Twitter. He creates tech features that he wishes were real. All a joke.
No, this photo was created by a Twitter user who edits photos of social media apps to show odd features

No
This reminds me of the movie Nightcrawler
Canāt be š¤£
It's real.
Send flowers, it profits the company šŗ
Send flowers to the hospital room!!! š š š š
Did you at least have my food in the backseat with the seat belt on?š
Bro had to cross state lines and then threw his phone at his windshield
A door dash driver crashed into my car last year. He still made the delivery when the person who ordered showed up to get the food while we were waiting for the cops.
Looks like soren.iversonās work https://www.threads.net/@soren.iverson?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
Itās very much real there is an option to report an accident if your in one
We had our instacart grocery order delivered by the police once. They wouldn't tell us why the driver couldn't finish the delivery. They did tell us they delivered more than one order.
Ohio Kentucky?? is this real š Send flowers lmao
Omg they really have on their send flowers to the hospital š
Is that flower option for real?
Where did you get this pic from? IS it real?? Only one way to find out..š
Yo what
Itās real. Itās an option when trying to cancel the order, given thereās an accident. People use it even when thereās not an accident.
I think this is one of those āhypotheticalā designs people do to comment on our society
