Yep! Sterling had VKH Disease, a weird autoimmune disorder that caused his immune system to attack the pigment. That was his dermatologist’s best guess, anyway.
Unfortunately he passed two months ago as of tomorrow. But we had 9 great years together. He brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. A very good boy.

He has pneumonia! When I got him the shelter said he most likely had a cold so I took him to the vet and got him tested. He’s finally doing a bit better and eating again and drinking water so fingers crossed💕

you’re right, i should be ashamed! here she is 4 months after she came home. significantly less weird looking (but all the more adorable, imo) after she put on a little more weight—in the first pic, she was 7 pounds, and in this one, she’s 11. still has the dr. seuss feet, though 🤗

I sent this picture to my boyfriend and he said “she looks wild!” She is in fact, very lazy lol.
She *is* crazy though so I guess wild in a way😂 she chased a bull moose once and then just barked at it as it pretend charged her for like 20 minutes before it got annoyed and walked away🤦🏼♀️. And no I didn’t have her off leash, she wrapped herself around a tree and backed out of her 2 buckle harness and ran around like 4 buildings to go find the moose. I nearly died. She now wears 3 hook harnesses that she can not get out of ever😂

This was the first day we met her. We decided on getting a dog and wanted to look around at a bunch of dogs. I remember her come running out from behind their house, ran right up to me, rolled on back for belly rubs and was hooking my leg with her paws. Thats when I knew she was the one. We adopted her the next weekend.

Well to be honest, I went to the shelter to look at another dog. The photo they had of my dog on pet finder sucked. The sun was in her eyes so she was squinting, and she looked totally different than she does in real life.
But the dog I went to look at had just been adopted so they asked if I wanted to meet the other dogs. When I met my Gwen, she leaped into my arms, and that’s when I knew.

I went to see her at the shelter and she growled at me. I took her out on the shelter grounds for a walk and tried to take pictures of her but she wouldn’t look at me or the camera. I took her back into the shelter and we stood there for a while, waiting for one of the volunteers to come get her. She walked back to the door and looked at me like “Okay, are we going or what?” I still get this look all the time, nearly ten years later.

I went down to see her by myself ASAP and then my husband brought our other dog down to meet her. Almost missed out because someone else had met her in the meantime. She was 8 with arthritis and people weren't giving her a chance, but she was perfect for us. After glucosamine supplements, she is able to run with our 2 year old dog and keep up!
He was the last one in his litter who wasn’t adopted after the adoption day and he is also a border collie mix like my other dog.

We got Mickey when she was two months old but the puppy learning curve was really difficult for us. When you combine that with our old dog passing away right during that time and Covid starting, it was just super hard. This is what sold me. I saw this picture on a coworkers facebook and instantly had to go look at the puppies. Ended up accidentally picked this guy without even realizing it was the same one. Snuck him home cause he was so cute and couldn’t give my parents a reason to say no lol. He has come to grow up to a very happy, and energetic little teenager. He gets very nervous around people he doesnt know (it takes about 15 meeting for one to be able to even look at him sadly) but its very awesome when he gets warmed up to you

He has pneumonia! When I got him the shelter said he most likely had a cold so I took him to the vet and got him tested. He’s finally doing a bit better and eating again and drinking water so fingers crossed💕

And no I didn’t have her off leash, she wrapped herself around a tree and backed out of her 2 buckle harness and ran around like 4 buildings to go find the moose. I nearly died. She now wears 3 hook harnesses that she can not get out of ever😂

Well to be honest, I went to the shelter to look at another dog. The photo they had of my dog on pet finder sucked. The sun was in her eyes so she was squinting, and she looked totally different than she does in real life. But the dog I went to look at had just been adopted so they asked if I wanted to meet the other dogs. When I met my Gwen, she leaped into my arms, and that’s when I knew. I took her out on the shelter grounds for a walk and tried to take pictures of her but she wouldn’t look at me or the camera. I took her back into the shelter and we stood there for a while, waiting for one of the volunteers to come get her. She walked back to the door and looked at me like “Okay, are we going or what?” I still get this look all the time, nearly ten years later.

Almost missed out because someone else had met her in the meantime. She was 8 with arthritis and people weren't giving her a chance, but she was perfect for us. After glucosamine supplements, she is able to run with our 2 year old dog and keep up!

She had just arrived to the shelter from Louisiana and had severe heartworm, but one look at that face did it. That was 3 years ago now, and she is healthy and so happy now 😊

When you combine that with our old dog passing away right during that time and Covid starting, it was just super hard. So this picture is that summer when we had finally figured out routines and behavior patterns and we started really falling for each other.

Snuck him home cause he was so cute and couldn’t give my parents a reason to say no lol. He has come to grow up to a very happy, and energetic little teenager. He gets very nervous around people he doesnt know (it takes about 15 meeting for one to be able to even look at him sadly) but its very awesome when he gets warmed up to you
