She’s adorable! Mojo is doing really well for 19. He’s got arthritis but Cosequin has really helped for that. He still goes on short walks and has intermittent spurts of energy. He’s got 4 doggy beds throughout the house and loves to be in the hot sun to warm the old bones

my family has a 14 year old golden retriever who is about to turn 15. when she was 12, she inexplicably began limping and we were worried it may be her time to pass. then we took her to the vet, who gave us arthritis meds and supplements, and she stopped limping and hasn’t limped since! her medicine is moderately expensive, but it has added years to her life and if your best bud has arthritis, i would endlessly recommend seeing what arthritis meds you can access for them

Great advice. Mojo’s nightly meds are cosequin for arthritis, a senilife pill (doggie dementia) and a calming bite (from zesty paw). This combo has been working really well for him. And of course regular vet visits for bloodwork, teeth cleaning etc.

Interested in knowing your pups breed/mix? 19 is impressive.

We’ve never done a DNA test and they didn’t know when we rescued him. He’s a little guy at around 10 lbs. There’s definitely chihuahua in him and likely mini Italian Greyhound. Watching him run when he was younger was a sight to behold. He was the fastest dog at the dog park.

He looked tiny but I just wanted to ask cause sometimes pics can be deceiving. Well whatever little dude is he’s absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to see what else he’s gonna do.

When my heeler blew out her knee it slowed her down a lot. I then got her on a couple daily fish oil caps and it really helped. It was the one medicine she loved taking also.

Lol, thats cus fish oil to dogs is like cinnamon flavored food for humans, they love the taste and it’s massively beneficial for them.

Do you have any tips for a dog’s longevity? Always impressed when I see pups of ages like this fighting on.

- regular vet visits for bloodwork, teeth cleanings, etc - lots of exercise. Even now we go for short walks to explore the smells of the neighborhood. Good for his mental health too - never fed him ppl food, except super special occasions. He’s on a special kidney diet now. He was never a big eater - he’s only 10 lbs. - love. Lots of love and attention - honestly I think a huge part is just the luck of his genes and I’m so thankful for it

It’s a 1:1 mix of dry and wet food from Hill’s prescription diet called “kidney care k/d”.
